A Darling in the FranXX storyline

In a post-apocalyptic future young pilots fight against monsters known as Klaxosaurs using giant feminine robots known as FranXX. Their identities are defined solely by their role as pilots, with no personal freedom or knowledge of the outside world beyond the “birdcage” of Mistilteinn or on the mobile fortress of their Plantation. Each Plantation houses a team of pilots that travel around a now desert covered earth protecting magma mining sites at the will of the APE organization, a group of scientists and politicians who govern all of known humanity. Due to the the earth becoming covered mostly desert all of humanity has moved to living in Plantations.

The story takes place on Plantation 12 where the APE organization allowed Dr. Franxx to conduct social experiments as well conducting additional missions upon not just APE’s request but also Dr. Franxx. Dark times have fallen on humanity as more and more klaxosaurs have started making appearances throughout the world, attacking magma mining locations. Larger klaxosaurs have been targeting plantations, something that was unheard of in the past. Entire plantations were getting wiped out including the pilots that attempted to defend their homes and the thousands of adults that were housed on the roaming cities.

With the threat of more frequent attacks and stronger klaxosaurs making appearances does Plantation 12 have what it takes to survive as humanity faced extinction at the hands of klaxosaurs or will they be devoured by the klaxosaurs Unstoppable Appetite for destruction?
