Futuristic Cypress Collegium: The Elite

Prizzy Kriyze

Multiple Stab Wounds
Alright, wanted to do an interest check on this. Some of you may have seen the original Cypress Collegium when I posted that, little over half a year ago. It's one of the most thought-out universes I have at my disposal, and I decided I wanted to make use of it again, should the interest be high enough.

As war academies became more and more popular, a system of ranks was created to discern the skill of each individual. The ranks are as following:

Main Ranks*

_________________________________________________________________

..................................................................Machinator -- Enginseer -- Ministrator

................................................................/

.................................................Architecti

................................................/..............\

............................................../..................Academican -- Titanican -- Obliviatus

............................................/

Hastati -- Principes -- Triarii -- Medicus -- Doctor -- Archaeum

...........................................\

.............................................\...................... Templar -- Praetorian -- Imperator

...............................................\..................../

.................................................Legionnaire

.....................................................................\

...................................................................... Centurion -- Legatus -- Taellectarii

_________________________________________________________________

Hastati

First Grade Students.

Principes

Second Grade Students.

Triarii

Third Grade Students.

Medicus

Medical specialist unit. Unusual but valuable.

Doctor

Medical specialist unit. Doctors are regarded highly within armies or other private militia, as they are some of the most unusual soldiers you can find.

Archaeum

Medical specialist unit. Archaes are revered like gods where ever they go, as their skill with healing cybernetics and general physiology have been known to have terminally ill patients up and walking after a single day. There have only been 5 Archae throughout the time they've existed.

Legionnaire

Most people who graduate from a war academy go on until they become legionnaires, and then leave for adventures. They're the most usual kind of soldier in the galaxy, but that doesn't mean they're weak.

Templar

Templars are Legionnaires who've decided to keep training their own individual skill, and gone to such lengths with it that they've been promoted to Templars. Templars are often found as very expensive assassins in the galaxy.

Praetorian

The next step up for Templars. Praetorians are usually found as the personal bodyguard for very rich noblemen. Praetorians have a lot of myths around them, some claim that a single Praetorian is worth 500 Legionnaires. Despite this sounding ludicrous, some Praetorians could probably succeed in such a feat.

Imperator

Through time, there have only ever been 7 imperators. These are the most deadly combatants in the universe, and could supposedly wipe out an entire planet on their own. Though this highly depends on the planet, it could definitely be done. Imperators are some of the most feared individuals in the universe.

Centurion

Unlike templars, centurions kept honing their skills in tactics and leadership. Many a important politician have origins in this line of education.

Legatus

Legates are mostly found acting as high ranking officers within armies. Their sharp observation skills and advanced minds are revered. Many private companies and empires look for legates for important positions.

Taellectarii

Only 3 Taellectarii have ever existed, and the only one who is still currently alive is serving as the general of the empire. Their tactical mindset is unmatched, and they are often considered to be the only reason why the empire rose to begin with. Then again, their personal fighting abilites are nothing to frown at either.

Architecti

A newly graduated student who's expressed his interest in becoming a professional engineer. Architecti are quite skilled with all kinds of technology, and are after sought after by armies who require capable engineers.

Academican

An Architecti who's studied and researched the old scriptures and rules for creating Arch technology. They are incredibly skilled with all existing technology.

Titanican

An academican who's learned the secrets to building the holy titans. The empire itself has declared all lore of these war machines holy, and titanicans tend be some of the most proficient repairmen in the galaxy. They are to machines what Archaes are to organisms. The Titans they produce are large to monumental mechs, that tend to be able to switch from their walker mode to a ship-like mode.

Titans come in various sizes (Which are all stolen/repurposed from WH40k)

Dreadnought Class - 5'4m/17'8'' (Yes I know they're not actually titans in WH40k)

Knight Class - 9m/29'6''

Warhound Class - 15m/49'2''

Reaver Class - 24m/78'9''

Warlord Class - 36m/118'1''

Emperor Class - 54m/177'2''

Apocalypse Class - 97m/318'3''

Obliviatus

A genius incarnate. A titanican who's figured out the secrets to building the invincible Obliterator robots. There's only been 5 Obliviatus in the past, and they each created a personal Obliterator. Obliterators are man sized machines, who easily could match an imperator in power and skill.

Machinator

Unlike academicans, machinators are Architecti who've broken off from the regular rules of building, and started experimenting with machinery on their own. They're not quite as good with regular technology as Academicans, but their creativity is unrivaled.

Enginseer

To lots of people, enginseers are like popes. Their touch can create machinery from nothing, according to the crazy legends that exist out there. Enginseers are usually hired by CoreTech to assist in several areas.

Ministrator

There have only ever been 7 ministrators. Ministrators are often fathers to entirely new of technology, such as meta technology, or chrono technology. Minstrators are the front of innovative design, and almost anything personally built by a ministrator is classified as forbidden- or master class technology.

The idea I have planned for this new roleplay at Cypress Collegium will be focused on a group of very high ranking students, most likely at the second-to-last rank in whatever branch they're going for, that are kept at the academy and trying to achieve the highest rank possible. Their education will be mostly revolving around doing missions for large companies such as eliminating targets, helping plan assaults, finding artifacts, solving strange mysteries among many other things.

(Also, this time I promise to put more detail into what the actual empire is, and so on and so forth.)

So, quick synopsis for those of you who simply don't have the time to go through everything I wrote in the original thread:

The year is 3482, and in the last ~1500 years humanity has evolved at an extreme rate. Between figuring out how to make ships with powerful enough engines to make it to other solar systems and starting to conquer planets and steal technology, the human empire grew at an incredible rate. By year 3000 60% of the milky way had already been conquered, and by this point humanity calmed down. It took them more centuries than they'd like to admit to start realizing that they'd been treating alien races with extreme racism. By year 3200 80% of the milky way was controlled by the empire, and now around 50% of it's inhabitants were also alien races other than humans. 75% of the races were other than pure human. Things started settling down and only very small or planetary wars ever broke up.

That was, of course, until year 3400. All over the galaxy ancient alien technology was starting to be discovered, and out of greed wars broke out between private companies. Rich groups started hiring soldiers and engineers to help fight other companies and develop more powerful technology. This is when War Academies started becoming popular. The empire of course had it's own space navy, armies, and special ops, but private Academies devoted to teaching people how to fight or expanding their knowledge about technology started sprouting everywhere. Having an education from one of these war academies was incredibly prestigious, and elite engineers and soldiers were in high demand all across the galaxy.

Then, year 3450, a boy wonder was born on a planet called Taldaris. Alaric Edwards started the galaxy's most successful and prestigious engineering company at the age of 20, CoreTech™. Then, at the age of 27 he resigned from his post within the company, and used his vast fortunes and high tech assets to start Cypress Collegium aboard an enormous satellite hovering above the most dangerous planet in the galaxy, Pandora.

So, thoughts?

I like it! Lots of potential here, I think. Would the charas be fully-human? If not, would we be making up our own species of alien, or do you have a list to choose from?
