Cursed IC

Hearing Argen made Elise snap back to reality, she realized that if this mage came back it meant trouble for all of them, nodding to her partner she looked to the two children "we must go for now then, at the very least we need to put some space between not only us and the guards, but the mage as well" she said to the two.  Her partner looked seriously wounded by now, she could easily see the blood he was losing, she needed to heal him as soon as possible, meaning they needed to find safety as soon as they possibly could.  Handing Evilin her bag back she looked down at her "keep these for now, i believe you should be the one to carry them"

Unslinging her bow from over her shoulder she nocked an arrow and looked out into the woods "this may not be my forest, but i feel i can still get us through it, follow me i'll try to find us somewhere to hide" and without another word, she was walking into the forest in the opposite direction of the inn they had came from.  The thought of a black mage in the forest with them terrified Elise immensely, slowing her progress as she kept scanning the forest for the mage.

Things were progressing quickly, and Yang was beginning to feel uneasy. No one seemed to be in charge here, and now there were two members of the group here who were severely injured and now they were saying the black mage was somewhere nearby. What have you gotten yourself into, Yang you fool. He thought inwardly.

"I am a friend," He said, moving to keep up with the now moving group. "My honor is bound to my word, Princess, and I swear to serve you and do as you command on your journey. So long as your path is honorable and just, I walk it with you." He placed himself just behind the princess and spoke in a low tone, to ensure that she could hear him, but not to give away their location in the forest.

Evilin nodded to Elise and took the bag back. She placed it back onto her leg under her long dress. She turned to Yang and gave him a soft smile and nod towards his words. "Thank you." she uttered a bit enough for him to hear. But her attention did fall back to Elise and now more so to her traveling companion. She frowned deeply as she started to follow the two. "I can heal him once we get to a safe location." Evilin stated. "But I don't think I can heal the black magic effects." Evilin frowned.

Coda blinked as everyone started to move. He was still on the ground trying to catch his breath when things got moving. Coda started to push himself to his feet uttering curse words or even ugly names towards Evilin and now Elise.... Mostly because she gave the bag of horns back to the blond princess. Coda would have stayed behind and just waited for his friends, but the horns... Coda followed behind the group, his eyes mostly on Evilin, but he couldn't stop looking over to Argen. The guy was greatly effected by that black magic users magic. Coda frowned deeply as he looked over the black that was staining the Lycan's wounded skin.

Coda hated how he could not keep up with the others as they were walking fast. Well to him everyone walked fast.

Evilin had been behind Elise when she too glanced over her shoulder to find Yang and Argen close behind, followed by a lacking Coda. She grumbled and went to turn her attention back to the trail before her, but not before she got a good look at Argen. She moved her pace quicker to Elise, "Are you sure we shouldn't try to treat his wounds first?" she asked.

Coda let his arms dangle at his sides as he did his best to keep up with the group. He had already wasted a lot of energy. Between Evilin dragging him around and him trying to get the horns back, Coda had to close his eyes almost all the way as they walked. This had indeed been one hell of a day. He let his breath go soft as his feet shuffled under him.

"Are we there yet?" He complained.

Coda was about to stop when he felt something. His eyes turned to the trees around them, it was like an abrupt force was messing with nature. Coda didn't have a nose like the Lycan, but he could sense the black magic user. Well to Coda this guy was far from the right track of black magic. He could feel what the other was trying to do and shook his head. The mage was trying to use the energy around him instead of using his life force. This was something that Coda knew would backfire upon the mage in a very big way. If the guy hadn't died before, this was a heart stopper and a brain kicker. The back fire to using nature for such darkness was a toll of it's own, a horrible death.

Coda looked back to the group and realized that he was further back behind the group than he had first started. He let out a muttered grumble before rushing to catch up. This only burned more of the little energy he had left in him.

Benton had a sort of connection with the Lycan that ended with a severe curse. He could feel the Lycan and by extension the group was distancing from him. This was wonderful for him as he didn't want to risk using an untested magic to defend himself should something go wrong. The magic circle was fully charged by the time the group was moving out of the field and away from him. The circle had a purple glow just before Benton activated the magic. Once the magic was activated Benton immediately didn't feel right. Well, he generally didn't feel right thanks to his constant use of black magic but this was different. His shadow had indeed been enchanted and the result was quite powerful, but so was the back lash. he could immediately feel symptoms of cardiac arrest taking place. " Oh my....  this is not good." he muttered and immediately started making his way back to his cabin. He had a heart in reserve just in case he screwed up this big. Of course even with preserving the organ would only last a month if he was lucky.  Benton ran as fast as he could, ignoring the pain of his entire body dying slowly. He didn't care how much noise he was making or if anyone followed him. At this point he did NOT have time for any detours. Benton pushed the door to his cabin open with great force, tearing off his cloak and shirt and cut open the stitched up wound across his chest cavity, removing his badly rotted heart. Once the wound was open Benton went into his room and took out the preserved heart and pushed it into place. The long soak in preservative chemicals caused a delay in the assimilation process and quite the panic in Benton.

Dominic was removing his ruined knee pad when his back spasmed.  That was new he thought fearing the blade that slashed his side had been poisoned.  But poison would hurt where it entered, or at least that made the most sense to him.  There was an echo of pain in his back, the smoldering feeling from the spell in the tavern began again.   The glow of spirit fire caught his attention as a bit of his shirt back caught fire.  He hadn’t seen that inverted flame effect in a long time.  Even just a glimpse of it brought him back to when he got the scar, and the immense pain he suffered.

He panicked and pawed at his back trying to put the flame out, it was just a dull pain, like a week old burn but he didn’t want it to spread or get worse.  The dark flames remained despite his protests, but they weren’t spreading to cover the whole scar, just a small bit by his left shoulder.  He made plans to save the rest of his shirt from burning by removing it now but a shadow out of the corner of his eye caught his attention.  No, not a shadow, a spirit.

He hadn’t seen a spirit since he touched the dark horn.  Confused he searched the ground around him for a dark artifact but found none.  Black magic was happening and he was totally oblivious of it until now.  The spirits began lining up, lighting the way through the forest in one direction.  Dominic followed, half out of curiosity, half wanting to end the black magic user’s life to put out the flame on his shoulder.

Keep walking. Just keep walking and keep breathing. The warrior kept telling himself that over and over. He could feel eyes on him. Eyes that showed pity and worry and it honestly made a twist in his stomach. People worrying about him was the last thing he wanted. Pity just angered him. Argen still had supernatural hearing and could easily hear the whispers made between the ragtag group of travelers and it only served to annoy him further, "Lady I'm fine. I'll make it. I've been through worse." He directed to the princess. Which wasn't exactly a lie. The lycan had indeed been through injuries and debilitations that far out classed this one. However, the black magic was a first and the way it sapped the strength and vitality from him was certainly new to him. He wondered how weak could he feel if he simply let the magic do its work. Would he come out stronger? Was recovery even possible? By the look of the princess, it seemed as if she couldn't do much but heal the physical wounds, which he didn't need her help for. It was the damage to his spirit that needed attention.

The black stains were almost done consuming his entire torso and it was threatening to take his neck and head next. The thought brought even more caution and a crushing realization. His eyesight was beginning to blur and his vision went in and out of focus. His balance was still there, as we're his other senses.  "Elise, the mage turned and left. He went back the way he came. You can relax a bit now. We just need to get somewhere.

Elise looked back to her companion as he spoke up, happy to know the black mage was no longer an immediate threat "good, then we should stop here and tend to your wounds" she said, sitting against a tree stump, not really wanting to give him the opportunity to reject.  She had tried to hide her growing worry for her companions health for some time now, but this black effect was taking too much of a toll on him.  The princess said she knew light magic, so hopefully she could mend the darkness while Elise focused on his physical wounds.  Setting her heavy bag on the ground she pulled out a few bottled reagents and went to work.  "hmm... some crushed up Aloe Vera Leaves and the cap of a fly Amanita ought to do the trick" she said, pounding the cap into a paste with a pestle and mortar, after which she crushed the leaves by hand, dropping the ingredients into a small vial with some water from her waterskin.  As a final ingredient she added some red berries, the base potion had a disgusting aftertaste, she felt the berries helped give it a nice color and taste, making it easier on the patient.

Giving the vial and experimental swirl she took a small sip, setting the vial down she watched as the burned skin on her wrists began to peel, revealing freshly healed tissue underneath.  The process was not without some discomfort though, as the enhanced healing caused an extreme itching sensation on the afflicted areas.  Rubbing her wrists gently she handed the vial off to her companion "Take a sip of this and tell me how you feel"

Evilin agreed with Elise and had found herself taking a seat next to the Alchemist. She watched the other mix her potions to create such a potion that would take away the burns on her wrists. Evilin found that the potion was indeed effective, but took sometime to make. She turned to Argen when Elise handed him the small vile. She frowned when she looked over Argen's wounds. The black was growing within his skin and she knew there wasn't much she could do about the magic.

"You people make me sick." Coda spoke up. It took him sometime to even catch up to where the group has stopped. An annoyed look was plastered on his face and anger steamed from his eyes as he used a tree near him to keep himself from falling over. He pushed off the tree and made his way over to Argen. He pulled out a small blade, no more than an inch or so, and cut the tip of his index finger. He placed the blade away and turned to Argen. He took hold of the Lycan's wrist and pulled Argen's arm closer to him. He moved aside any cloth covering Argen's arm and started to write strange letters onto Argen's skin.

"Stupid black magic users...." Coda uttered to himself. If it wasn't for Argen's wolf like hearing no one would have heard what he had said. Coda continued to curse and utter about the other black magic user. "Doesnt even know how to create a simple shadow....." Coda wrote three symbols or strange letters on Argen's skin before letting go of the Lycan's arm. He huffed a heavy breath before turning away from Argen and finding a seat near Evilin and Elise. He leaned his back against the tree finally letting himself relax.

Coda's blood would indeed soak into Argen's skin, but there would be no pain. Instead a wave of cold would rush over Argen and the black marks on his body stopped spreading. The black marks began to retreat back to the points they originated. Argen's own healing would then kick in, but because the infection had already gotten out of hand, Argen would hold black scars where his wounds were. Maybe even scars from the black burns too. This now really depended on Argen's healing and Benton's black magic.

Ever since him and his friends came to this side of the world, Coda and the others had picked up on a few things. Mostly how people used black magic. Coda knew for a fact that most or really all the black magic users they have come across didn't truly understand what they were playing with. Thus resulting to bad and poisoned spells. Not only infecting the black magic user, but others around them. Coda took in a few deep breaths before closing his eyes and crossing his arms over his chest. Coda would of had more energy, but him and his friends had been traveling for more than half the day before they came across the tavern in the woods. Not to mention this little kidnapping was placing his energy at a dangerous low.

The lycan didn't hesitate and quickly grabbed the tonic Elise had created. Sure enough, with his own healing factor and the potion, the burns started to heal at a fast rate but they were still in the third degree and would take a night or so of sleep to fully heal. That, of course, didn't change the curse aspect. Only the physical was mending and so the feeling of weakness was not disappearing. The black mage's angered rambling were not lost to Argen's ears but the warrior decided not to comment on his muttering.

At first, Argen resisted Coda (quite easily) as he took hold of Argen's arm. Though even through blurred vision, he could see the mage had something in mind. His curiosity was enough to allow the mage to write his runes. As the runes were completed, Argen took a step back and glared at the bloody inscriptions and was pleasantly surprised when they sunk into his skin. An eye opener to say the least. A few moments after absorption, the male felt as if he was back home for a moment.....the cold snow and ice of his village. It felt like everything he missed but there was also a surge as his strength came zipping back to him like a lightning bolt. A gasp came from his body as he collapsed to one knee in surprise from the sudden surge of strength and energy.

He popped back up as quickly as he fell, with a vigorous yell, "Hahahaha! My strength is back! Mage how did you do that? I need to know should I come into another fight with one of your kind. I can't collapse after a battle with a Mage every time after all." He stated with adamant fervor. The scars didn't bother Argen in the least. Just a few more to add to the vast collection. The only difference was that these ones were colored in.

Benton sighed a breath of relief as the heart started working a second later and his blood once more began circulating through his body. Benton's breath was ragged and laboured from the stress of the situation. "That.... was far too close. Note to self... don't steal life from nature. " Benton said to himself as he controlled his breath and started stitching himself up again. As he did he felt the power of his course within the Lycan all but disappear. He was intrigued, but also wasn't too torn up about it. The curse was still there so he could track them and he had meant to have the curse go dormant anyway. Benton hoped he would get to meet the one who suppressed his curse. He would definitely be able to learn something. Having almost died tonight Benton made a promise to himself that he wouldn't be going out tonight and instead continue researching black magic. He already almost died once and now he didn't have a spare heart to fall back on.

Dominic began to pick up his pace but his knee was still sore and he couldn’t work his way up to more than a jog.  There was still a clear stench in the air so he was sure he was getting closer.  He arrived on a clearing, there was a crowd of spirits which looked like a small bonfire of purple inverted flames.  He approached it, some of the nearby trees looked sickly, this must have been where the spell happened.

The spirits were faded, they weren’t as haunting as he remembered, he couldn’t make out the faces.  To him they appeared to be glowing with the same darkness as the spirit fire.  They were a dark purple blur, and instead of glowing light they emanated darkness.  If he wasn’t looking for them he could have easily mistaken the blurs for shadows.

Touching the bark of one of the injured trees a shock jolted up his arm and he lost control of his hand for a moment as it burst into normal flames.  He stepped back and made sure the flame on his shoulder was still controlled.  It was still there, but weakening, and his shirt seemed to have stopped burning.  He was beginning to hope the flame wouldn’t completely leave as the spirits were leaving with it and they were his only guide to the black magic user.

He spotted the trail continuing on the opposite end of the clearing, leading deeper into the forest as far from the tavern as possible.  That made sense, the magician would want to get as far away as possible. So Dominic continued following the spirits.  He heard a yell up ahead, it was victorious more than anything, perhaps the magician was celebrating.  He took off in the direction of the sound, he didn’t know that the spirits were leading him to the wrong black magic user.

Alex had just arrived at the inn, no less then a hour earlier he was at the palace of Roland.

When Alex had finally reached Roland he though he could finally relax, putting his horse up by the stables,he was thinking about checking out the local book stores or library. Not that long ago he was in his study back in Paxon Sophie barged into his room handing him a letter, the letter said he was being sent to Roland to help with a situation, and that how he ended up in Roland.

He went to the castle to get some context, he saw everyone in a frenzy, the guard captain ask who the hell he was and what he was doing here,as in his wolf fur clothing he clearly wasn't local. He handed the guard a letter telling him he was sent here to help with a situation, the captains eyes dotted over the letter quickly and after he pointed out to the gate. The princess left not that long ago he told Alex, there are good man already looking for her if you hurry you can catch them. what! Alex though he only just arrived, as Alex was hastily making his way back to the stable the captain quickly rushed over to him with a killing look. he said to him, tell no one the princess is missing, Alex nodded and quickly got on his horse.

That brings Alex to the inn, when he looked upon the state it was in he realized two things, someone found the princess and let her escape, he wondered where the men sent after her went.Alex had changed on his way here as he didn't want to attract unwanted attestation, taking off his fur wolf clothing wearing a simple white shirt with a black coat over it, covering his white hair. The very air around Alex was practically frozen. He was pretty tried and got off his horse hoping maybe the inn had somewhere for him to sleep,or ask about the princess and guards.

Yang patrolled the group, keeping his eye out behind them to watch for any guards who might have followed them. He was surprised they hadn't seen any sign of pursuit. With the ferocity they were chasing down the princess before, they should've been right behind them. The spell couldn't have lasted that long to keep them in place, and they didn't seem the kind to forsake their objective to bury one comrade.

Further more he had to figure out what they wanted the princess for. He assumed it had been the bag she hid away on her legs when he approached them, but he had been too late to hear about it. Not willing to try and show his hand to soon, he would have to wait until they trusted him further before pressing the issue.

Elise nodded, smiling a little at Coda and Argen's antics, it seemed as though the boy wanted to help them, or at the very least acquire the horns again.  If only he could be a bit... nicer, with a mental shrug she began to pack away her gear, carefully returning the glass cases to their positions in her bag.  Picking up the vial again she noticed there was just a bit left at the bottom, she looked to the princess and offered the vial to her "you said you got a few bruises on the way over? Have some of this, it'll fix you right up" she said with an inviting smile as she slung her backpack back on.

She had to appreciate the lengths the princess had gone to do what she believed in, crossing one's own father was no easy thing to do, physically or mentally.  It seemed that she really believed that by doing this she was saving the world.  It warmed the elfs heart to see that there was still a bit of purity in the world, despite what the people of the village had told her.

It seemed as  though their little break was coming to a close now, they desperately needed to find somewhere to hide and they had been out here mostly all night.  Elise tried to resist the yawn that came at this realization, she needed some time to rest, and the others would as well, but making camp out in the open was definitely a bad idea.  She hoped they would be able to find a nice little hideout sometime soon, even though the elf was no stranger to all nighters they weren't exactly what she would call ideal for the current situation.

Benton spent several more hours looking into the nature of black magic rather than simply crafting spells using the dark art. From his experience black magic seemed to use life force to cast very powerful magic that can can be from actually using darkness to casting curses that cause sickness and injury. However what if that wasn't the entire nature of black magic only what those who have come before managed to come up with? Benton would have to think more on the nature of darkness to try and understand dark magic. Sighing Benton closed his notes and headed to bed. Gnawing on this thought all night wasn't going to be productive. Dreams however can sometimes help with processing information and was a lot less stressful than staying up.

The Tavern. (The tavern is actually located on the outskirts of Bellmore and Roland. But resides in Bellmore.)

Karn and Okami had been going at it for sometime now. Their battle had become something of a dance. One attacked the other blocked, it was a stalemate none the less. Meanwhile Nora and Seng had their own hands full with other guards and even random travelers joining into the the fight. This only made things ten times more difficult.

"You're not back." Karn stated as both him and Okami paused in their fight.

"Funny, because you seem to be lacking." Okami snorted back.

Karn narrowed his eyes at the other. He let his eyes drift around the room to see that he had lost more than half of his men in the fight. This was really not good if he wanted to track down and return the princess. Karn locked eyes with Okami, "The longer we fight the further the princess gets away." Karn stated. He was a bit taken back when Okami stood up out of his fighting stance and let the tip of his blade rest on the floor. He gave the General a strange look, "The princess?" Okami asked.

Okami knew that the girl who took Coda was a princess, but in his mind he was just trying to keep Karn away from Coda. "Who cares about a whiny royal brat that took my friend." Okami stated.

Now it was Karn's turn to look confused. "So you're not after the princess?" the General asked blankly.

Okami blinked before shaking his head no. "She kidnapped our friend for crying out loud." Okami watched as Karn lowered his guard.

"Sssoooooo.... Why are we fighting then?" Karn asked.

Both Okami and Karn looked even more confused..... Why were they fighting? Okami thought Karn was going to attack Coda, while Karn thought Okami and his friends were after the princess. What a world of miscommunication?

Karn ordered the rest of his men to stand down. Seng and Nora were a bit taken back but the General's order. But felt like they had missed something when they noticed Okami standing next to Karn.

The next thing they knew, they were now standing outside with Karn and the last bit of his men. Karn's men were gathering what they could and trying to get their horses ready to start going after the princess again. The even stranger part, was that Seng, Nora and Okami were now getting their horses ready too. All of their gear and and such along with all of Coda's things too.

Okami looked over to Karn, "So what's been your method while tracking down the princess?" He asked.

Karn looked to Okami a little confused, "The hounds of course. I don't really know anyone who can change into a wolf that's on our side." He added with a tone of mocking.

Okami shrugged a bit, "But will the hounds attack any of the people around her?" Okami turned away from his horse after finishing tightening all the straps. He looked to Karn and folded his arms across his chest. "I just want to make sure that nothing will happen to my friend Coda." Okami made his words very clear. Karn turned to Okami, "If any harm comes to your friend... I'll let you kill me." Karn faced Okami.

Okami thought about Karn's words before nodding slowly. He held out his hand to shake Karn's, Karn reached out to take Okami's hand for the shake. Once his did he felt the tight death grip around his hand followed by Okami pulling closer, "If anything happens to Coda, I will kill you." Okami warned before letting go of Karn's hand and heading over to Seng and Nora.

Karn blinked at Okami's warning. He let a dark smirk cross his lips as he watched the three. They were indeed good and strong warriors.... Maybe while they hunt for the princess and their friend, he might be able to convince them to join the Roland army.

Just as Karn was getting on his horse he noticed someone making their way to the tavern. He couldn't place his finger on it, but something seemed familiar about the new face.

Coda's eyes shot wide open at the sound of Argen's laugh. This was followed by loud words that only made Coda press his back harder into the tree behind him. He was actually shocked of all things. He blinked as Argen then requested that Coda would show him how to do what he just did to get rid of the other mage's spell. But Coda inwardly frowned at the request. "It's not really anything... Even a child could rebel black magic." Coda's words were true... But not in this land. They had figured out the basics of most of the more common kinds of magic, but somehow they were lost when it came to black magic.

But the more Coda thought about the other black mage's spell the more he couldn't help but smirk. Upon curing the so called curse, Coda could sense the energy placed into the spell. The other mage thought he could be clever with leaving sinful marks upon the Lycan... For now Coda would leave the marks and the small connection the black mage had upon Argen. It wasn't anything to really worry about either. A simple tracking spell that would only weaken with distance.

Evilin blinked at the sudden outburst. She had never seen magic like so. She had her healing and even her light magic, but this was just strange to her eyes. She looked to Elise for a bit of comfort in the matter. She wondered if the skilled Alchemist had ever seen something like so with the use of black magic.

But her attention looked back to Coda when he spoke about children using black magic. No child would even dare to go near a black magic user, none the less use the dark art. She gulped a bit at the thought of children passing away due to such horror. Her eyes drifted over to where she knew the black horns were hidden under her dress. If this black magic user could do something so small and yet be so effective.... What could he possibly do with the items she had taken from her father? She looked over to Elise for some kind of guidance if not to the Paxon warrior. Elise seemed more like the leader of the group, while Argen and Yang felt more like the muscle. Evilin was the princess in need of such help, and Coda.... She wasn't sure as to where he would fit into the group.

Evilin looked to Yang.

"Listen mage. I don't know any form of magic at all. I'm an incredibly well versed and powerful warrior but I don't have any magic nor any defenses. I've fought many mages and made it by overpowering them but I am not a simpleton or a barbarian despite my looks. I've only barely won. Magic is something I need to learn how to defend against. Someone's coming. Male. From the tavern, I recognize the smell." Argen quickly snapped his head in the direction the scent was coming from. He took several steps forward and places himself in front of Elise with a guarded stance, prepared for combat. Whether the others decided to fight or flee would be up to them but Argen knew what his job was. He wasn't going to let any harm come to his contractor. The Lycan was basically at 100% now and any enemy that came across him would have a difficult time dealing with a fully alert (and undistracted) lycan warrior. "Move and hide or stand and fight. Make your choice quickly." He said to the group in general but it was directed more to Elise.

Alex had finally seen some guards coming out of the Tavern he watched as they tried to grab there belongings and horses. He knew for sure they must of been Roland guards,he expected more then this to find the princess, but he guessed that's why he was sent, he didn't really know himself why he was here. That's when he noticed the general come out talking to another man who clearly wasn't a guard. When the general stopped talking to the man he looked right Alex's way.

Alex had the most annoyed look on his face, like he had tried to solve a rubric cube for the last 12 hours and given up, that annoyed. He put his right hand on onto the pale skin of his horse walking with her slowly towards the general. Most the guards where on edge watching him, he clearly wasn't a guard, as he walked to the general without breaking eye contact. The air got colder with ever step he made, and then suddenly as he came face to face with the man the chill stopped, as if someone was slowly choking you then let go of their grip. He looked him straight in the eye and said ''You are the guards of Roland right? I'm here to help with a situation'' In a hushed cleared tone of voice.

As Dominic approached the group he could hear chatter but couldn’t make out spoken words in the slightest.  There was more than one person, he didn’t know the voices well enough to know if it was the original group from the tavern.  He thought back to the princess and her captive, the wolf and his rider, and the Oxionian.  Maybe the wolf creature was the dark user this whole time!  Wait but he was trapped too, stupid idea.  Dominic brushed off the thought.

If it was the group from earlier, he figured they wouldn’t take kindly to him charging in calling for murder.  If it wasn’t the group, he was probably going to be part of a crazy sacrifice to dark magic.  These were both appealing options, and Dominic was getting ready to turn around and leave, not willing to bet his life on either option.

But a spirit stood in his path.  It shouldn’t have phased him, but it did, he couldn’t bring himself to step around the flickering life.  He looked to the flame on his shoulder, it wasn’t out, and then he looked back to the spirit.  He had to keep going.

Doing a full 180 he turned on his heel and marched to meet whatever group he had just wandered into.  He was no longer going for the surprise attack; his plan was to surrender right away.  At least if he surrendered he wouldn't get killed instantly by either party.  He still couldn’t see the group but he was pretty sure they were hiding behind the crowd of blurs a few hundred meters ahead of him.

“Hey!  Oxonian!  You owe me a sword!  You too Princess!”  Dominic shouted praying it was the runaways.  As he called out, the fire on his scar went out, and with it the spirits disappeared.

Karn watched Alex as the man walked over to him. His eyes never left Alex's and once the man was in front of him he could not say that Alex was even a man. He looked a lot younger than what he probably was, but to him Alex looked like a child. Karn blinked at Alex's words, he wasn't even sure if he could take Alex seriously at this point. His voice was soft, clear but child like. Karn glanced over his shoulder only to notice that Okami was watching Karn and the new comer.

Karn grumbled a bit as he turned back to Alex. He noticed that what was left of his men were already talking about Alex and watching him carefully. Karn let out a small breath, "Do you have any papers from the King stating that your words are true?" Karn asked as he folded his arms across his chest. Karn was not the kind of person to believe everything someone told him. Especially if it was words from his King. Plus the boy looked young, young enough to even be his son. He wasn't saying that the boy was not a fighter, but it was uncommon for someone of his age to travel with the King's guards under the King's orders.

Okami watched from the distance before getting onto his horse. Seng and Nora were already ready to go. They had come to some kind of an agreement with Karn. The two groups would try to hunt down the princess and Coda together. Once they found the two, Karn would take the princess and they would get their friend back.

Coda watched as Argen started to rant on about how strong he was and how he wanted to defend himself against magic. But the wolf was cut off quickly when someone had found them in the forest. Before the person could show themselves, Coda was quick to duck behind the tree he had been leaning against. He would have joined at Argen's side to fight, but his energy was too low for him to do something.... Well this was an understatement. Even with a low energy Coda could still use his magic, but the recoil would only make him sick and possibly pass out. He would rather hide for now and if, only if needed he would step in.

Evilin had done the same. She took up the spot next to Coda. Both peeked their heads out to watch what was going on, hopefully it wasn't one of the guards.

Evilin sighed a little when she saw that it was the person she had rushed past when leaving the tavern. She slowly stepped out from behind the tree and bowed her head a little towards Dominic. "I am very sorry." She told him. "It was not my intentions for others to truly get hurt or to loose something of importance." She stated clearly.

Coda watched Evilin from behind the tree, he narrowed his eyes at Evilin and shook his head slowly. This princess was indeed a piece of work. "If he was a real fighter he wouldn't of have lost his sword in the first place." Coda grumbled from his hiding spot.

Evilin turned half of her body around to shoot Coda an angered look. His comments were indeed insulting and rude. Coda merely just kept his dull look and locked eyes with the princess. "You know I'm right." Coda told her.

Evilin spun back around to look at Dominic and the others. She looked angered but she was trying to hide it. By the way Coda had reacted to the horns she knew that he knew exactly what they were, where they came from and what they can be used for. She needed his help.... So saying anything that would make him mad was off the table for the time being.

Coda knew the princess wanted to tell him off, but she didn't. He made a sharp tsk sound through his teeth and let his eyes shift away from the scene before him. He wished Okami and the others were there, or that they were back at the tavern. He was looking forward to sleeping in a bed for once, as they had been traveling for sometime now. He needed sleep, food and warmth of all things. But with everything going on, he felt like he was not going to get what he wanted.

Yang looked around, making sure there was no other Oxionian around, then turned back to Dominic. "I think you have mistaken for someone else, I didn't lose any sword, nor did I cause the events that lead to the loss of your sword. I have my weapon, as I always do, and it is the only weapon I take any responsibility for." He placed his hand on the hilt of His 9-Ring Broadsword.

He turned his attention back to the princess, who had just looked to him, "Was there something you needed, Princess?"

Dominic limped his way over to the group, seeing it was safe, no black magic here.  He leaned up against a tree hiding the strange burnt fabric of his shoulder and the revealed scar.  It felt good to take the weight off his knee for the moment.

“Oh I’m a fighter alright, I’m the only one of you that fended off a guard.”  Dominic scoffed at the young punk hiding behind the princess.

“Anyway.” He said straightening himself up.  “I don’t like being used without my consent, and I don’t like losing my sh…stuff to help ungrateful...” Dominic trailed off not wanting to be too offensive but he glared at the Oxionian who was trying to be chivalrous and deny he had anything to do with the loss of Dominic’s sword.    He cleared his throat ending that thought.

“I think I can be of use to you, and I’m giving you the chance to ask me to help.  Take it or leave it, Princess.”  Dominic stated bluntly.

Elise looked to the new person joining their group, another from the bar, she raised an eyebrow at his now smoldering shoulders, but didn't pay it much mind.  They needed to find some proper shelter now, no doubt they were being hunted as they spoke, and from the amount of people who had been able to find the small group so easily they weren't doing a very good job of covering their own tracks.

Looking to her companion, she nodded "let's be off, we can't afford to stay in one place for very long" she said, taking point yet again, carefully watching the forest with an arrow nocked in her bow.  They would need to find shelter soon, even a cave would do by now, just something to cover their heads and hide the princess while they decided on what exactly they wanted to do from here.  Night would give way to morning soon, and they would need some semblance of rest if the party wanted to get things done any time soon.

Alex took a deep breath ''No'' He said responding to the mans question. He pulled his hood down showing his white hair, that went to his ears''As you could probably tell'' From skin tone, lack of knowledge of the guards, and horses skin tone ''I am not from from Roland,I don't serve your king and queen. I serve my king and queen. I have a letter from my king and queen telling me to help your king and queen'' He talked slowly and clearly with a board expression on his face, like he didn't want to go though this. He reached into his pocket and got out his orders telling him to come to Roland handing it to the man.''At the bottom of the letter you'll see the seal of my kingdom''

Coda narrowed his eyes at Dominic, "Fighter?" Coda questioned. "I've seen fighters... And one that looses his gear in a battle and then blames others is not a fighter." Coda huffed still from hiding behind the tree. Coda narrowed his eyes at the new comer. He wished he wasn't so tiered.

Evilin looked shocked at how Coda responded to the man. But she felt like she had done something wrong.

Coda pointed to Evilin, "Don't you dare feel sorry for yourself." He growled. "He lost his own shit, it had nothing to do with you." He added.

Evilin just signed at Coda's words. She looked back to Dominic, "I'm sorry you lost your sword." She stated. "I will replace it when I can." She looked to the others when Elise mentioned that they should move again. She nodded to the Alchemist. "Yes we should keep moving." Evilin thought about Dominic's proposal and only nodded to him. "The more help we can get the better." she told him.

Coda's eyes shot wide open, "Move?.... Again?" he asked the others. At that point he slipped behind the tree, placed his back to it and slid down slowly to the ground. He let his shoulders drop as he shook his head. These people were crazy. All of them. He couldn't continue on moving around so much. He let out a heavy breath as he looked at the ground. If only, Seng, Nora and Okami were there, he would be able to continue but these people had no idea how to deal with someone like him. He could wait for his friends, but that would also mean thatEvilin and the others would run off with the horns. He couldn't let that happen.

Karn took the letter from Alex and read it over. This kid probably didn't know that Roland had no queen. The queen had passed away during the princess' birth. A sad day for all. He looked over the letter with calm eyes. The seal at the bottom was indeed no fake. He handed the paper back to Alex and rolled his eyes. "Until this is signed by the king of Roland..." Karn got onto his horse. "You can go about things your own way." He told the boy. Karn looked to Okami, Seng and Nora who were already packed up and on their horses too. The three watched Karn with devious smirks.

"Oh, let the boy hunt." Nora stated as she clicked her heals lightly into her horse. The horse started to walk slowly past the others. "Who knows, he might be able to track the bitch down." Seng frowned and let out a sigh over Nora's words. She was the kind of person that just hated everyone. Okami rolled his eyes as he too noticed that Nora already disliked the princess. But he was kind of on her side. Okami was far too over protective of Coda and just the thought of Coda being alone was not something he wanted to think about. "Just let the kid join." Okami stated before following Nora's lead.

Seng shrugged with a light smirk still on his lips. "Who knows he might be the key to you capturing the princess." He too started to follow the others.

Karn let out another heavy breath before looking back to Alex. "Get your horse." He told him. "Don't get in the way and keep up.... I already have enough problems on my hands." he stated before giving the signal to his men to move out. Eight guards all started to follow the General as he started to follow Seng, Nora and Okami.
