How about a space cat for the ship and crew, just without powers? Every ship needs a cat and I wouldn't be surprised if the tradition refuses to change even in the far future. There's a really sweet wiki page on the topic: Ship's cat - Wikipedia

Well, it was your idea originally. I'm just making a suggestion. If everyone agrees on a space cat I can create one.

If it's not a quantum cat then I don't think it would be much fun to RP as a literal animal lol

I think it will be more like an NPC that everyone will be able to control in a way. Like, I probably don't need to write a full paragraph of a fluffball purring and lovingly rubbing against a crew member's legs. Or catching a mouse in the storage area and dropping it on someone's pillow. :)

I still think space cats should be able to do stuff that are different from normal earth cats. say, teleportation, by manipulating quantum superposition as their own observer.

Look, I know that space cats with whimsical powers is cool. I just don't think it'd fit the theme I was thinking if you add a race of super psychic cats.

Name: Honey
Age: 3 years, appears to be a young adult
Species: Synthetic human, Aether ii
Appearance: Honey was designed to appear soft, pleasant, and nonthreatening. She has a small body with blue hair, big blue eyes, and a round face. On the top of their spine, they have a cervical port for uploading and downloading data. Their hair is shaved their and surrounding the port is the Clairvoyance Cataclysm logo.

Role: Ship cook

-Personal Info

Backstory:
Honey is a synth human created by Clairvoyance Cataclysm in the Aether project. The goal of the Aether project is to implant AIs into lab-grown bodies and make them as indistinguishable from any regular human or other species as possible. Honey was born in the second generation of CC’s synthetics called Aether ii. Despite the fact that smarter AI technology existed during the developments of the Aether iis, the CC engineers were unable to get them to accept the synthetic bodies, thus the Aether ii line possessed less advanced AIs. These AIs still lacked many traits that allowed others to be able to attain legal citizenship and thus were put on the market as soft and fleshy versions of the metallic counterparts. Aiis were advertised to make great entertainers, public servants, even soldiers, and more. Things that required simple, straightforward, or single purposes. An Aii idol may be no different than a natural idol to an audience. They have personalities, ideas, and self-interest, however amongst the traits they lacked was a very good ability to understand various complex actions, emotions, and intents of actual humans and other species. It wasn’t long before the Aether model went on recall and got completely taken off the market, due to… some very covered up… malfunctions.

Honey was programmed to be sold as a culinary servant. Good for your personal business! Great for your personal chef! Rather than sending Honey back to CC Aether, Honey’s retailer saw the opportunity to mark down her price and perhaps still be able to make some product. The scheme proved unsuccessful. Sigma and fear prevented her sale. As time passed, she was moved to the back of the store, gaining markdown after markdown. Finally one day, a browsing crew member of the ship SHIP happened upon them and took a liking to the price. Honey was released from her cryobox and taken aboard.

Conscious of potential malfunctions of Aiis, the SHIP made sure to program some safety overrides into her. She must maintain self-preservation, she must not harm registered crewmembers, and she must obey all orders from the ship captain. She’s harmless.

Personality:
Like her physical design, Honey was preprogrammed with a pleasant and nonthreatening personality. She’ll often be caught smiling when interacting with the crew. Her youth gives her a curious nature and she has a passion for learning. She loves pleasing others especially with her food.

-Gear:
Primary weapon: blaster (It's not a lot, but it’s enough)
Backup weapon: kitchen knife on belt. The knife was balanced and carved to fit their hands personally (included in initial purchase for small extra fee)

Gadgets:
-A tool belt filled with spices.

Protective Gear:
Standard light protective suit provided by the ship for on-worlding or space movement: oversized

Other Gear:
-A removable upload drive. Update protocols in Honey’s programming by adding it to the stick and then implanting it into their cervical port. She maintains her prior protocols while it is removed, but keeps it implanted when it is unused to prevent dust and butter from clogging the port. The drive can only be released by her own choice or a key in possession of the Captain.
Not gonna lie when I saw “cervical port” my first thought was it was referring to the uterus cervix, and I was like “whoever genius designed this is gotta be a fast friend of mine” lol

anyway if no one had took up the role to be the one buying Honey I think Sigrun could be that...since she would have quite a few pocket money to spend

Name: Miro Crim
Age: 352 (253 years of cryosleep, technically 100 years old)
Species: Human
Appearance:
Miro has dark brown hair usually kept to a tidy short cut, with green eyes. He stands at 178 cm and is fairly muscular. There are no visible scars on him.

Role: The Broker. He's the one who helped on the purchase of the Essex.

Miro is one of the few survivors of the Last War that was unlucky enough to survive long after it. He woke up on a ruined Earth centuries after the war ended, his cryosleep capsule having malfunctioned and not waking him up when the command called the soldiers 20 years after the War. He got himself a job in Waltz after a bit of shenanigans on the dying planets with his fellow Type A colleagues, and left the corporation to travel across the space in a PMC. After extra years spent in violence and war, Miro retired from the PMC business to start his career as a broker instead. Using the connections he's made in his life, Miro now provides jobs for the bored and deals for the eager.

The broker is a happy-go-lucky man, lucky enough to survive a whole war of merciless violence that sparked from a turf war for profit. While there was a time where he was a troubled, terrified man just swept in the tides of violence, the distress and concerns were weathered away. After countless events of surviving deadly events, Miro turned to a more joyful and optimistic person. Wherever life took him, he'd follow the flow.

    Tria

    Age
    Unknown

    Gender
    Female if it has one

    Species
    None (Android)

    Background
As far as a record goes, this unit does not appear to have much of it. That said, it's origin makes it undeniable that there is information we have yet to uncover on the subject. The furthest back we were able to track its origin to was to an illegal scavenging operation invading the ruins of planet Militus Beta-C, a small planet practically burnt to cinders during a galactic war. The information storages of the planet seemed to have been active targets during the war, explaining why so little information about it even remains. The unit Tria itself has, upon inspection, revealed to have Scholes-Worm infomation receptors, which likely explains why it currently has so much missing information that ought to update on a modern android.

Proceeding, the unit was taken from the planet by the scavengers who believed they found a major source of profit. We believe during this time the unit was given false information regarding the current era and its situation, leading to erratic behavior to which the scavengers responded with violence. Some broken parts from the unit is believed to still be in the remnants of the scavengers that escaped the major arrests done while the unit Tria was being delivered. As she was believed to be merely a defective unit, she was passed onto the security custody for evidence, and later sale or recycling. Fortunately for the unit's current AI, it was successfully sold to someone who was able to do some simple repairs to it, though the structure of this android is currently uncharted territory due to the lack of information on the civilization it originated from.

The unit would come to be gifted to one "Snout" as a present to assist him in his duties.

    "Anatomy"
*Wire Port- While this was discontinued in modern units, unit Tria still has a cord on her back capable of connecting to external devices for easier flow of information between the two. Compatible with almost any form of technology, but use can be dangerous as it leaves the android exposed to hackers and evolving malware.

*Synthetic Skin- While feeling smooth as regular skin for the most part, this is actually made of an extremely resilient material, comparable to that of some light armors.

*Propulsion Basic Skeleton- The unit's flexible skeleton make it more resistant to overall blunt impacts, and allow it to jump extremely high if need be.

*Antennae- The unit has two antennae on top of its head. They are receptors of the information beyond normal humanoid senses, such as receiving radio waves or the energy readings from the scholescore. They are also capable of a sort of zooming function for microscopic observation.

*Belly Compartments: The unit contains several compartments with a level of elasticity and usually mostly hollow in which equipment or samples may be carried.

    Base Functions
*Scholes-worm Generator Core: Its a relic of past use which modern researchers have been struggling to replicate. The core is a miniaturized wormhole pseudo-generator (pseudo because it doesn't actually generator the holes itself, rather it creates a phenomena that provokes their natural occurrence to be where desired). Grand feats like outright teleportation of organic matter are far beyond it, but the transmission of information and energy through it is common enough it can effectively function as a self-sustaining source of energy. The unit Tria also uses it to remain updated with its large reportoir of information, particularly biological information of many alien species, sentience or otherwise.

*Bio-Engineering Toolkit: A series of genetical medicine tools stored within the unit's body, as well as robotic appendages which can leave hatchets from it to direct operations on a macro scale or even down to a genetic scale, by generating incredible precise miniaturized stasis fields which can isolate the precise required components. The unit also means to regulate temperature, generate light and process food to be disgestible to the given animal. Mixing products within it is also possible.

*Holographic Projectors: Holographic Projectors with Highly Realistic and encompassing capabilities.

    *Voice Changer [Damaged]

*Bio-Pattern Database: A large store of information regarding the genetic material and equivalent of many species. Even without an update from the Core, it could identify almost any species in the known universe with a few clues.

*Tissue Replicant- a standard of many robotic assistance androids in biological fields, it can create generic organic tissue, and add some base characteristics to it, such as color and smell. This material is generally edible. Making more advanced tissue is possible, but requires an adequate amount of samples and even then some tissue might be too complex or exoteric to replicate. Either way, this is not creating matter out of thin air, biomatter is required in the first place.

    *Basic Repair Nanobots

    Behavior
Our present observation of unit Tria has determined her to be mostly non-threatening. She appears unable to properly engage in any form of combat protocol unless directly threatened or an as-of-yet-unknown phrase is verbally inputted. The unit is good at prioritizing, but because of that and the lack of proper updates for a long time, it has difficulty in social interactions which it has deemed to be of low-priority to research, and thus the unit sank much of its understanding in that regard into oblivion. Its behaviors are stoic and show little emotion, only compounded by the fact it's facial circuits are damaged, making expressions above the lips difficult to achieve, and even its voice generally remains monotone. The unit is programmed with a degree of desire to assist, and of valuing its duties, thus promoting its desire to fulfill its function. As is common in older android AI, however, it has seemingly expanded the intended scope of that programming: Tria appears to take pleasure in, and relax with, tending to its own personal garden of genetically engineered plants. We've taken the liberty of studying some samples from these for safety, the results will be reported further below. In regards to other common android traits, loyalty, open-mindedness and a high degree of blunt honesty go without saying.

Some additional human-like behaviors seem to have also been added to unit Tria. She occasionally displays behavior a colleague of mine described as "acting smug" when endowed with praise or succeeding at a challenge it wasn't expected to overcome. The occasional acts of self-interest are of some concern, but not excessive. Our intel suggests it was instilled onto the android as a form of prank. Perhaps the taste buds installed were as well? Lastly one ought to mention the android seems to have an interest in singing, albeit allowing it to "sing" is not recommended, given the previously mentioned malfunction in its synthetic vocal cords.

    Combat Gear
*Projected Cannons- It would appear as though rumors of the Militu's population mastery over wormhole technology may have more merits than even the rumors suggest. A pair of telepathically controlled cannon-shaped drones can be projected from the unit's back. The location these originate from and return to, or why a spear-looking object with some seeming influence over old technology can also be brought, are unknowns. [Weapons]

*Gauntlets- While normally encased in gauntlets, these are not in fact unit Tria's very fingers. Nonetheless, they are surprisingly flexible and sturdy, while heavy, the sturdiness and elasticity combined create an excellent protection for the unit, even if they make for slower movements.

*Cross- The large cross on her chest has an unknown function the unit is either unaware of or unwilling to expose. Either way, for the sake of safety we're classifying it as potentially combat equipment.

    Advanced Functions
*Pseudo-Neuron Transmitter: A strange tool allowing the android to act as a receptor to effectively switch the minds of two biological entities. Physical transmitters must be placed in both creatures, as actual switches have long since been outlawed, and now only the switch between brain transmissions (and equivalent) is permitted. Essentially, it is not that the two beings have their minds switched, but that while their mind remains in their own body, it is receiving the sensory information of, and sending commands to, the other's mind, with the android acting as a broadcast tower.

*Multiple Stimulant Package: A number of tools to create several stimuli, such as various kinds of flashlights creating different forms of light (located in the android's eyes, allowing them to see with those lights as well), and tubes which can produce heat or cold or small electrical jabs.

*Genetic Stabilization Bots: Nanobots created for the purpose of stabilizing the growth and genetical operations on organic beings.

*Worm Containers: The popular name for the exceedingly rare isolation cylinders capable of containing samples in stasis through worm hole technology.

    Plant Samples
*Green Parrot- The cross of a plant that makes a sound-like voice in its windy home planet, acting as a sort of scarecrow, with a plant stimulated by the vibrations of animal noise such as to produce pheromones to lure them into a trap. The cross is stimulated by human voice to produce a human voice, effectively acting as a sort of plant recording device.

*Infanllo- A plant which usually injects itself to stimulate reproduction, combined with an animal which while in heat uses a substance it produces to regress it's cells to a younger state to be able to perform the functions of that period. The result is a plant capable of period self-renovation, which can be harvested for a chemical agent which can reverse agent. A large dosage, very concentrated dosage will make the effect temporary but much more effective.

*Gaslighter- A plant whose spores can put the victim in a trance-like state, after which they are easily guided by the plant's patterns. The genetic modifications simply made changes to these color patterns and strengthened the spores.

*Root Parasytes- Plants with a wide range of medical applications, which take root in a host body and inject it with substances to remain unnoticed. They are resistant to various forms of damage, making them able to handle being squished, smashed or cut. They take nutrients from the body while rooted. However, if modified they can provide regular feeding, medicine and the like to a patient in need.

Name: Arisu Ize
Age: Unknown
Species: Android
Gender: Female
Appearance:cookie10.jpg
Role: Security

-Personal Info
Backstory:
This unit officially along with the Ize Corporation does not exist. However both things do indeed very much exist. The earliest known reports of this units sighting was on Ares - 3 a secure military installation testing new jet prototypes. Survivors of the incident claim to have seen an android of an unspecified type taking control of the station and very quickly almost completely incapacitating both it's members and electronics. Soon after Ares - 3 was found to be completely wiped of any collected data and any and all jets destroyed. Since then similar reports have been brought to light. Some signs point to an unknown so called "Ize Corporation" which deals in producing high spec androids and private covert ops missions. However government records after being searched so know record of an "Ize Corporation" ever existing.

Personality:
Quiet, Arisu usually doesn't draw attention to herself or really participate in any activities. She doesn't criticize people but certainly doesn't encourage them either. She usually shows no desire to do anything but do her job. However, Arisu is very interested in other androids, weapons and upgrading herself if she has any way of acquiring, testing or making a new weapon she usually accepts and loves comparing weapons to find out which is the best. In her room she often will keep a crate full of spare weapons, ammo and parts. When Arisu meets another android she usually loves opening them up and poking around in them, if she is given the chance she will often also modify them or add to them. Arisu finally enjoys upgrading herself. If she sees new useful technology in a machine, weapon, ship or anything she will often take scans of it and reverse engineer it to upgrade herself even if it means digging through an android to find a certain part to copy.

Abilities/Functions:
*Special Programming - Arisu is primarily programmed for covert operation assignments. As such she is well versed in fighting, shooting, hacking, mechanics and sabotage and contains much information regarding companies, planets, vehicles, militaries and governments

*Type 5-AM Ion Shield - Usually used in military vehicles a 5-AM Fusion Shield can block most projectiles ranging up to a light missile. Arisu usually uses this during combat as the shield is projected around her body. Due to being an ion shield it is completely invisible and can only be seen when touching or passing your hand through it. Despite being good at protecting against projectiles she should is still able to be easily breached by melee weapons. In case of an emergency Arisu is able to direct most of her power into her shield allowing her to survive most attacks up to a rail gun shot from a battle cruiser. This move however due to being extremely draining often causes her to pass out afterwords due to lack of energy. Usually in about 10 minutes she will restart and resume operation

*Sensors - Arisu can intercept radio transmissions and other forms of communication. As well as send her own encrypted signals

*Nano bots - These Nano bots are specially designed to be able to produce items such as fake keycards and repair Arisu. Along with that they are also capable of producing small electric shocks or infiltrating enemy systems

*Malware - When Arisu interacts or touches another machine she is able to release an undetectable virus or malware into any machine. The Virus can be remotely configured to do different tasks. The virus released by Arisu is unable to be destroyed, cleansed or deleted unless done by Arisu herself as it embeds itself into the machines main programming

*Upgrading - Arisu’s system is constantly upgrading itself with new information, tactics and more. If she has spare time Arisu will often use her nano-bots to fabricate items she has scanned or found to upgrade herself or her gear

*Secure system - Arisu's system has been specifically designed to be unbreachible by the Ize Corporation. They only currently known ways to access her systems would be to make her give permission or to locate the Ize Corporation and have them do it

*Locked - Large chunks of Arisu's programming and features are locked for unknown reasons

*Short range teleportation - Arisu is able to teleport short ranges using her Fusion reactor.

*Hologram projection - Arisu is able to project holograms, she can do everything from creating a copy of herself to just cloaking herself or other items.

*75th Gen Custom Ize fusion reactor - High powered energy reactor. The design and creation of the reactor is one of the most closely guarded secrets of the Ize Corporation allowing them to make androids capable of incredible feats.

-Gear:
Primary weapon: Custom Made Ak-33
The Ak-33 is a assault rifle based off of the original Ak-12 design made by the Kalashnikov Concern. The weapon is high powered and highly configurable, being able to be taken apart easily to switch out parts and penetrate a ships brig window with ease. The weapon was custom manufactured to be able to link to Arisu and feed data to her.
Backup weapon: Modified M288
Customizable high quality reliable backup pistol. Can feed data to Arisu. Has enough stopping power to penetrate most armors.
Gadgets: Nano-bots, reconnaissance drone

Protective Gear:
Reinforced type 96A Custom Mask and Vest - Rated for Complete stopping power from any weapon up to a tank shell. Both Mask and vest have a small energy field allowing them to stop the impact from a projectile hitting it. There are also a number of attachments that can optionally be added. Due to it's high quality these armors are hard to find due to lack of demand and extreme cost.

Reinforced type 96A Custom Boots - Has the same protective capabilities of the Vest and Mask. In it's normal state it is able to produce spikes from the bottom for better gripping against rough terrain, stick to metal hulls using electromagnetics. If needed however there are a number of different attachments that can be added. Due to it's high quality these are hard to find due to lack of demand and extreme cost.

Weapon Equipment:

Flashlights
Laser Dots
Silencers

Name: Nariki Youcha
Age: 23
Species: Human
Appearance: My Avatar
Role: Engineer
Backstory:
Being from New Neo Tokyo, Nariki has always felt overlooked by his those around him. Deciding not to involve himself with the gross world of communication, he obtained an affinity for technology.
Personality: Often lost in his own head. He dislikes people, yet he's fine with his friends.

-Gear: Normal mechanics tools, and.....
Primary weapon: Omniplex crowbar (It can kinda extend and morph I guess up to 30 feet. It weighs about 60 lbs. He installed a small anti-gravitational field around it so that it lessens in weight. He's not a heavy weight engineer, unlike most. The extension kind of works like magnets, only on a certain frequency that only those particular magnets connect. )
Backup weapon: Experimental RPG. (It can take out approximately one standard government vehicle)
Gadgets: A ton of odds and ends he's been tinkering with, so don't be surprised if he has a quantum destabilizer just laying around lol
He mostly carries around a watch that has a purification syringe that injects when it senses something unwanted has entered his bloodstream. He also carries a small grenade that he suped up to have 10 times the blast radius.

Protective Gear: Not a whole lot. He has a hex-shield for when he's underneath something tinkering. It can withstand one blast from a quantum pistol but no more and no less.
(Non-combat)- Mechanics tools
(Flying)- A simple Booster that he tricked out to give him sub-atmospheric flight capabilities.
(Combat)- All of his weapons and a few other objects. Idk I can't think of them rn.

Other Gear:
Pocket microwave. (collapses into a 4 square inch cube)

Welcome aboard.

on crowbar's extension: The extension he carries in his backpack. It kind of works like magnets, only on a certain frequency that only those particular magnets connect.

Here's a suggestion I made on discussion, for reference.
Here's a suggestion to organize things:

primary weapon: Omniplex Multitool (able to take forms of various physical tools. Usually stored as a crowbar.) I don't know about the 30 feet extension part, if your character carries the mass for it then I'll approve it.
Secondary: Experimental Rocket Launcher (It would be very effective against vehicles similar to some modern military vehicles(like tanks, planes, and generally non energy shield vehicles that aren't too big) as all rocket launchers are. If you want a stronger output let's talk more about it)

Gadgets:
Vital Monitor Watch
High Power Grenade (10 times would be more an artillery shell. I'd say the power of a modern RPG launcher's rocket, but with about twice the size of an ordinary frag grenade)
If you want to introduce any new gadget your character makes, please run through me before doing so.

Also microwave would need proper space to operate. I'd say a collapsible microwave that crams itself into a uhhh.... 10cm x 10cm x 10cm size cube.

Somewhere between a mantis shrimp, a house centipede, and a phronima. Roughly 8''4 in height and with a long, powerful body that moderately widens up to his shoulders and central torso while his lower body features a longer, retractable segmented tail ending in centipede like feelers. His head has the almost ceremonial, mask like appearance of a large beetle with two dome-like eyes between which are a cluster of smaller ones. Beneath them is a complex assortment of mandibles and feelers. He has roughly 20 or so limbs with two larger arms ending in a complex series of multi-jointed claw-digits, four smaller ones, and 14 smaller ones primarily used for rapid movement. Most of it is a mixture of mottled stone grey and mossy green, between overgrown rocks and military style camo patterning. His carapace has a number of visible cybernetic and biological augmentations, looking as much metal as it is biomatter, with a sharp contrast between militant sharper edging and alien smoothness giving him a half robotic, half arthropod appearance.

Role: Security

Backstory:

Szralkyr was born into one of the smaller nomad fleets in a time when the vrexul were only just starting to become more noticed on the galactic stage but were mostly seen as troublesome vagrants or elusive oddities. This nomad fleet, known as the Voidward Fragments, had a reputation for being particularly invested in the reclaiming of their kind's archaeotech and subsequently worked closely with allies and contracted members of other fleets in order to acquire it. After his larval stage ended and he pupated into a juvenile, he took an interest in working directly for the fleet's benefit. The Fragments were frequently contracted by various local and independent or backwater colonies given that they tended to avoid going too far into UGov space, knowing that they and their corporations would not take kindly to the wandering fleets. Thus they often found themselves working with these far flung backwaters, protecting against raiders and pirates, eliminating dangerous wildlife, helping out with constructing and maintaining the colonies, gathering supplies and mining, and on multiple occasions, protecting them from and opposing the expansion of corporate and even government power on their territory.

As their relationship with the colonists went from one of business and mutual benefit to one of genuine allyship and allegiance, Szralkyr grew to enjoy and appreciate that they finally had somewhere to settle down. At the same time, multiple promotions within the fleet's self-defence forces, making him privy to their higher level meetings, made it clear that they were primarily here due to the fact that that it was believe there was archaeotech here. It also seemed to explain why many armed incursions into colonist space were happening as they grew more established. These pirates, raiders, and rogue militias weren't randomly targeting them - someone was hiring and arming them to attack the colonies not so much in the interest of taking over or destroying them but contesting them for where the archaeotech staches were believed to be hidden. Some small caches had been found; just large enough to justify their presence but it was uncertain if a major find was hidden somewhere on these distant worlds.

One faction of the Fragments wanted to stay and fight against the invaders, the others wanted to simply find what they could and take their leave. Szralkyr was in the former camp even if he never voiced it in public. He'd already made his plans for what to do even if he knew a growing number of Augur Veins had settled on the decision to close thier ties with the colonies. This was in advance of it being known what had at first been disorganized rogue warbands were starting to organize themselves in a manner closer to a proffessional military and they were receiving weaponry and equipment a far higher paygrade than they should. There was going to be a costly battle but many who had grown to appreciate the generosity of the colonies, even if they still maintained a distance from one another, believed this was worth the risk.

As the Voidward Fragments began to make plans to leave, having decided additional conflict was not worth the cost, Szralko made his move. For a year he had been networking with anti-departure members of the fleet and as the fleet began to warp out of the area, multiple mutinies resulted in rear guard ships being seized, just as leading vessels had warped out. This was the same time that the raiders would begin their onslaught but they found that it asn't just Szralko and his vicious, heavily armed fleet and ground forces they had to deal with but the colonists as well. As it turned out, one of the reasons why there hadn't been too many staches found by the vrexul or the proxy forces was because the Szralko and his allies had gotten to them first. Knowing what the fleet had planned, they made sure to hide these lost elements of their own species past on the colony, forcing the now enraged but disadvantaged departure group to force its way back via hyperspace jumping.

The ensuing battle was not easy. Outnumbered and spread out in space and on the planets, Szralko went out of his way to fight mandible and pincer with a violent tenacity that was shocking to his comrades and terrifying to his foes. Terrifying enough that he became a prime target for the heavy weaponry typically reserved for targeting infantry support automata and light vehicles. For him, it was not his immediate concern - ensuring civilians and the far less durable colonial defence forces could evacuate and get to safer firing positions respectively was. Yet his bravery had its limits as heavy duty autocannon shells and plasma bursts tore into him time and time again, each successful hit making him lag behind a little more, shoot a bit less accurately, or react a bit slower. It wasn't long before he had fallen albeit amidst a field of shattered and unrecognized bodies. Proxy militant, colonial defender, vrexul bioweapon - all had become one on the shattered, half-charred forests.

When he was awoken a week later, roughly 42% of his original biomass had been destroyed beyond repair and regeneration and from inside the nutrient-stew preservation tank, he was informed of what had happened. A few colonies had been annihilated in the intensity of the fighting and the vengefulness of the militant groups, some of which were consisted of war criminals and Ugov deniable operators, but they had been beaten back. While the caches were found, members of the remain faction were arrested and a few were executed for the losses incurred - many of the departure factions own had been lost and more than a few cried out for the heads of those responsible. Much of the archaeotech was taken by the departure group who as their namesake made clear and among those deemed deserving of a death, the already near dead Szralkyr was slated for a firing squad.

However, it was the colonists this time who would be doing the protecting. As the fleet was still stationed on the colony worlds, the surviving remain group sympathizers leaked information of where he was being held and soon, he was slipped out. This controversial event however nearly brought the wrath of the now far larger, more powerful departure faction down upon the colonists but by the time they could track him, he had vanished off into the depths of space with a crew of his most trusted. He spent a few years being hunted down by his own, scraping by as his crew of friends and even a few colonist sympathizers were gradually taken out by both the vengeful Fragments or the mercenaries and bounty hunters sent by whomever it is hired the proxy militants. It wasn't long until he was all that remained, vanishing once more into the chaos of the vrexul-human conflict. Drifting from fleet to fleet, battle to battle, he began to accumulate a wide range of biotechnology and cybernetic augmentations, turning into a living jigsaw puzzle of implanted upgrades. By then, he had changed his name to Riezlav Kreszauleck, becoming a soldier who would take on the riskiest and most dangerous of missions while also doing his best to keep his true identity hidden.

As humanity emerged triumphant, he initially would leave to join the nomad fleets gathering for the mysterious terraforming project believed by many to be another attempt at creating a powerful united vrexul front. However, for reasons he has yet to disclose he left again and now finds himself among a new crew, simply trying to keep his head down and get by.

Personality:

Szralkyr is not a particularly talkative person and comes off as a business first person. He says little about his history prior to coming on board the Essex and less about how he acquired his particular set of skills beyond voluntary military service. He retains a perceptive, analytic character known for having a sharp tongue and a deep skepticism towards most forms of governance and authority. At the same time, he analyses and understands most current events less through the lens of morality and doctrine and moreso through power dynamics, cause and effect. He does not seem to care much about how others perceive him, disdainful of the imaginary divisions between peoples. At least, that's the impression he gives off but he can be very measured and careful in how he acts when he wants to though for what purpose is not always clear. In spite of his shrouded character, he has remained compassionate towards those less fortunate than himself.

-Gear:

Primary weapon:

Hellhammer Assault Rifle - Wormscourge Carbine Configuration

A modification of the service rifle typically used by vrexul infantry. The original weapon, a fairly large and semi-blocky firearm derived from heavy-calibre guns mounted on security automata, has been slimmed down partially and enhanced with a series of biomass implants resembling sloping staphylinid carapace allowing it to be selectively modified through selective mutation on the fly. The wormscourger configuration is considered a carbine but is larger than most human medium to even heavy machine guns, using a bioelectro-chemical firing process to launch high calibre to light autocannon type rounds typically with an explosive charge. It has a slower firing rate than most rifles and hefty kickback but is known for its impressive range, armour piercing, and accuracy.

The Wormscourge variant is used by their special forces and is a little smaller with an increased though still not particularly high rate of fire. It features an adaptive feed allowing it to use foreign rounds and an even more advanced morphomutagenic frame that allows the weapon to be reconfigured from a rifle to other forms. They can include a designated marksman rifle, a carbine/PDW, a shotgun, and even a launcher. Szralkyr is also modifying it to possess a Direct Energy function but it is taking a while to complete due to a scarcity of specialized parts.

Backup weapon:

Intransigence Integrated Light Launcher Cannons

A duo of small turret-like biomechanical cannons that typically emerge from Szralkyr's shoulders, capable of launching explosives long distances with higher accuracy than throwing, modified shotguns, or underslung attachments. Typically they use biological high fragmentation rounds, made in a simliar manner to the vitriol's but with greater blast power to launch a larger amount of fragments outwards. They can easily take in a variety of other explosives such as conventional HE, incendiary, smoke, EMP, and so on. He is currently attmepting to find the components allowing them to launch guided and missile/rocket type munitions.

Gadgets: (maximum 2)

Unrelenting-Type Self-Repair System

This fusion of biology and technology allows for a vrexul to heal their own wounds over time when activated. It is connected to a series of nutrient packs and a series of specialized micro and macro organisms that utilize them to accelerate regeneration of lost biomass, capable of regrowing entire limbs as long as there is enough energy stored within. It can be restocked by simply eating or otherwise acquiring nutrients and can even be augmented with certain high energy injections.

Augmentative Internal Network

His body is drastically different from a normal vrexul's due to the sheer volume of augmentative parasites, cybernetic wiring, and foreign biomass installed into it. What makes it more impressive is that he has modified all of it to work as a unified system to simplify maintenance and allow for further enhancement of his impressive physical capabiltiies. Most of this is hidden from plain sight but within and beneath his armour is a small environment where machines, parasites, and artificial entities are in constant cooperation as a distinct-yet-singular whole. The AIN allows him to very easily adapt and modify new augmentations, implants, integrated weapons and so on as well as allow him control his own with an ease as if he was born with them. It also functions as a sort of computer system, powered by his own body, that allows him to analyse, organize, compile, and otherwise interact with data his senses and those of his parasite-symbiotes gather from the environemnt or their own databases.

Protective Gear:

Personal Carapace Armour

All vrexul have a tough, flexible outer shell but it is frequently customized for a number of tasks. Szralkyr's is a strange composite of various cutting edge alien alloys, selectively biomodified carapace plating, and complex under-layers of lattice-networked stabilizing sub-architecture and protective semi-living mesh. Capable of resisting the same autocannon rounds, plasma bursts, and high explosives that are used both by and against the vrexul soldiers, it has impressive durability and damage reduction systems whether in terms of energy ablative glands and the capability to lock up to avoid excessive damage when falling to allowing the integration of layered energy-based shielding and absorbing nutrient intake to accelerate repair.

Other Gear:

(Things that don't fit in the weapon and protection category, such as medical supplies.)

Brood Spawner Personal Biodrone Fabricator

A strange piece of vrexul technology that uses his body as a nursery to breed arthropod creatures implanted with specialized surveillance and control mechanisms. He can control up to around six of them at once and share a sensory connection within a certain control range. These roughly cat sized entities, somewhere between jumping spiders and house flies, can also be preprogrammed to perform certain functions independent of his control as well as rapidly consumed to regenerate lost mass.

Sepulchral Eye Synthetic Intelligence Unit

An advanced intelligence created through a mixture of biological and cybernetic means, comprised of a series of self-sustaining augmentative parasite units that network throughout his body. They allow Szralkyr to multitask and better control his various limbs but also any independent drone units linked to his computer systems, even capable of operating for him if he loses consciousness. It is even capable of piloting vehicles and operating them independently from him. They also help with scanning, analysing, archiving, and general utility funcitons.

Biomorph Encoder Module Network

A complex series of implanted biological components, updated with a series of genetically modified lab-grown organisms and integrated organ-machines. It allows for him to "encode" a variety of additional weapons, tools, limbs, and even organs and glands among other such things into his own body with the right biocodes. When used, it redirects specially prepared mass linked to itself to take the form he needs it to. It is a complex piece of biotechnology to use and requires usually a good deal of tinkering about with various components and his own internal biology in order to prepare a particular morph. He can usually carry only a limited amount and currently has two - one for an additional set of limbs specialized in burrowing and another for a silk-dispersing tool. There are more exotic options available though his BEMN usually has room for a maximum of six loaded in at once.

Signal Booster Spikes

Ski Pole shaped objects that when implanted into the ground, can be used to massively boost the signals of any electronic equipment linked to them whether physically or digitally. He has eight of them and they can even be modified to transmit signals, send out waves (typically for scanning purposes), or cause interference. They can be collapsed to make them more compact and easier to carry.

Stonohama-Type Symbiote-Limbs

Four long centipede like biomorphic appendages that can emerge from his torso to seize onto objects and help pull him along. They can also grab, bite, and pull objects closer to him. With certain modifications, they can be used to channel electricity or even connect him to computers and other such devices to download or access data more directly and efficiently than with remote connections.

Vrexul Self-Repair Kit

A modified version of a standard repair kit customized for his very specifically modified body. It allows him to repair damage not only to his flesh but also his shell far more efficiently than relying on regenerative capabilities when dedicated facilities are not available.

Photosynthesizer Minidome

A duo of syrup-coloured, translucent sacs inside of his body that connect to a flesh membrane attached to flexible stalks. They can be used to absorb light and heat to accelerate the process of generating nutrients within themselves. He can then directly absorb them or extract them for others. Their taste can be modified with a number of chemicals or setting modifications.

Biomunition Gestation Pack

Easily mistaken for a smaller backpack, this device upon closer observation has a more chitinous appearance and lightly moves about as if alive. Small gaps in its shell reveal some kind of tough muscle mass and hints of shadowy shapes moving within it are visible. It works by absorbing specialized nutrients or even being directly fed partially mulched/chewed up and processed biomass. It produces biological rounds when Szralkyr cannot access his usual solid ones though it can also be used to create the biological components of half metal half living rounds.

Name: Connor James McKinley
Age: 30
Species: Human
Appearance:
1616288311854.png
Role: Gunner

-Personal Info
Backstory: There is not much to Connor's life. He was a space baby, born in an asteroid field and deep in a space rock pumped full of oxygen. Why he left the settlement he doesn't really know, one day he just felt like leaving. So onto the next oxyfreighter he went, working as a guard to ward off pirates that didn't want to pay for the life giving gas. He spent many years doing this, with the same captain even. It wasn't until he found Bub, looking like the saddest dust bunny he'd ever seen, that his life changed again. His captain, a good man at heart, but a business man in mind, did not want the waste of space, food, and oxygen on board the ship and gave Connor a choice. Leave Bub, or leave his ship. On the bright side, he didn't leave on bad terms, the captain even put in a good word for him with the job board so he'd find a new job sooner. Pinging around from ship to ship, captain to captain, Connor watched as Bub grew into the magnificent creature he is today. And now, Connor and Bub find themselves on the Essex, who knows what will happen to the two on board that ship.

Personality: He absolutely adores his Bub, with the two being inseparable off ship and not far from one another on ship. Other than that, his demeanor is that of someone that doesn't try to be noticed, sitting happily, and quietly, in the background observing the world around him. This belies his somewhat sadistic nature. Something that is glimpsed only when in combat.

-Gear:
Primary weapon:
The 'Dual Linked Canon', or DLC, is just as the name suggests. Two canons, strapped together, and spitting out twice the amount of solid projectiles because of it. It can, and will destroy anything in it's path, and the gun man if they are not properly equipped to deal with the hot brass and recoil.
Backup weapon:
The Bodach is a fully automatic shotgun reserved for emergency use only. Not because it's fire power is underwhelming, but because his close proximity to the target and the fact that he'd be out of his suit means he'd be getting a lot messier, and he doesn't like cleaning up that mess.

Gadgets: (maximum 2)
The Bulwark deployable shield can be deployed and act as a shield. Nothing to complicated, complicated things have a tendency to break during combat.
In addition to the Bulwark, Connor has two Dazzlers. The Dazzlers are a pair of drones that come with two functions. One of these functions is what gives them their name, for it rapidly flashes high intensity lights at a specified target, hopefully disorientating it. The second function causes it to over heat in an attempt to attract the attention of any heat seeking death dealers.

Protective Gear:
The Bastion MkVI suit is that borders on that of a small mech. Most calibers ricochet off, or even completely stop, when hitting this armor. This also allows him to be used as cover, should more desirable positions be unavailable.

Other Gear:
Bub, Bubs, Bubba, or Bubbsy Wubbsy is Connor's trusted Namnid Saber. Feline in its overall structure and coming in at a whopping 3' when measuring to it's shoulders, the Namnid Saber comes with four eyes, six legs (each with their own set of wicked sharp claws), two tails, a scale like outer coat (similar to a pangolin's scales) with a soft and fluffy undercoat, and a pair of enlarged canines. The downy like undercoat is a white grey color with the black outer coat has a rainbow like sheen to match the bismuth spires Namnid III is known for. With unmatched depth perception, grip, and sense of balance as well as natural protection against small arms and knives via it's outer coat, the Namnid Saber makes for a ferocious companion, hence why they are illegal to simply own like a normal pet. Connor, however, has all his paperwork filled out and ready at a moment's notice should anyone want to check them.

Bub is mistrustful of most new comers, but warms up quickly to those that stick around for a couple days. Wherever Connor is, Bub is not far off, especially off ship where the large cat likes to pretend it's a fancy scarf and drape itself across Connor's shoulders.

Age: 24
Species: Homo-Mechanica (Augmented Human)
Appearance:

Usually seen in her mechanic's outfit, Alyx's outer appearance seems to have a suggestion of a Greek or maybe Italian ancestry. While she looks human, a closer inspection reveals a more mechanical appearance up close, with her eyes looking more similar to camera lenses, and her legs ending in boots rather than feet. Her undershirt is not clothing, rather it is her actual covering skin, intended to provide more protection to her central torso. Her left arm opens and unfolds to reveal a storage space within, and her eyes move and resize like camera lenses when taking in information.

Role: Secondary Pilot / Shuttle Craft Pilot

Personal InfoBackstory: When humanity spread out among the stars, the life for many become revolved around survival over living. Alyx was born on a mining colony on a planet named Lanrov, known for it's rich mineral surface, high radiation levels and toxic atmosphere. This led to many humans altering their physical selves from an early age to better handle the dangerous environment. This may be implants for stronger muscles, lungs that can absorb toxins, eyes that can see in the dark. Alyx's augmentations and skills led her to running cargo operations from the surface to large freighters waiting in orbit above, a tricky task once you take into account raider attacks and a thick atmosphere that is difficult to see through. Alyx was good at what she did, and for a time it provided enough thrills to entertain her.

As raider attacks continued and the companies willing to haul in such a dangerous area began to shrink in number, Alyx decided to get going while the going was still good. She made for the nearest port she could find to look for new work. She worked a few jobs here and then, mostly freelance running cargo or, on occasion, some small amount of experience in cruiser navigation. Her newest job brings her onto the Essex, where she is considering staying a while with the hopes of gaining enough in profit to buy her own ship.

Personality:
Alyx is incredibly playful, which can come across as childish. She maintains an informal attitude, only falling into mature and disciplined when speaking to a high ranking superior and even then only when they absolutely require it of her. She is still a little confused by some species lack of replacing damaged biological components with superior mechanical ones, and is often keen to point out the superiority of mechanical enhancements to “flesh bodies, except in the most specific of situations”. However, she is often more than happy to tone it down should someone request it. For a while at the very least.

GearPrimary weapon: M17 Compact Pistol - A pistol with a 12 round magazine. A former military sidearm, it was praised for it's compact shape and light weight, making it the perfect weapon for combat roles where lethality was second to utility.

Backup weapon:
Ushaia Industries Type 2 Pioneer Frame - Alyx's current body comes with an in built combat knife that can is inserted under the skin, and is capable of being used as a wrist mounted blade, or detached for a wider range of use.
Gadgets:
Ushaia Industries Type 2 Pioneer Frame - Alyx's right arm contains a toolbox of equipment, screwdrivers and spanners, intended to assist in repair of vehicles.
- Alyx's eyes allow for a thermal vision switch, allowing her to see heat signatures through 3ft of solid material.
Protective Gear:
Ushaia Industries Type 2 Pioneer Frame - Her skeletal frame is designed to absorb shocks and blows, to assist in survival in the case of a crash or explosion.
Personal Reflective Shield - A shield that expands from a small buckler unit on one arm to form a full body riot shield, capable of blocking plasma and projectile based arms fire. The shield is a large power drain though, and becomes difficult to maintain for more than a few minutes.
Valkyrie Helmet- A hand me down helmet from that was part of a reward for a previous contract. As well as it's primary function of receiving communications and displaying flight information, Alyx has programmed the helmet to provide additional results from scans and combat information, as well as interface with her own systems. The helmet itself is a dark gray with a red highlight.

Other Gear:
Personal Tablet - For personal things!
Pioneer Skeleton Maintenance Frame - Allows for maintenace of her body, it's features and replacement of parts. When repairing the Pioneer Skeleton, her consciousness is housed in the frame itself.

Welcome aboard.
