You wake to the silhouette of pine trees against stars. Apparently you're in a dense forest bordered only by mist as far as the eye can see. What is this place? How did you get here? These are questions to which you have no answers. But before that choking sensation of panic sets in you realize that you are not alone. People of all walks of life are waking up around you. All of them strangers...at least strangers as far as you can tell because there's not a single fact about yourself that you can recall. Not your name, your favorite ice cream, your dreams, or the person you love. All of it... gone. The only clue is an old Tarot card you discover in your pocket. On the front is a symbol you vaguely recognize through the brain roots of the popular zeitgeist as belonging to the Major Arcana. Every one slightly different. But on the other side, typed exactly the same, is a simple message:

You have been brought here because you have sinned​

Now teach me the meaning of SACRIFICE

This world is ruled by [ Three Gods ] and in exactly 24 hours three of you will become their Bride. In other words... it's a [ human sacrifice ]. Who will it be? Ordinarily the Divine decide such fates. But punishment has to be the most cruel, so this time it's in the hands of the Accused. One of the people standing with you has been chosen as the Elect- someone whose destiny it is to die. But lucky them, they get to pick two others to share their [ wedding day ]. However worrying about that shouldn't be your priority. Time is running out, and before the Ceremony approaches you had better figure out who you are, why you are here, and how to escape the forest. In which you are not alone. There are signs of other inhabitants, both human and...not so human. In fact there seems to be a variety of judges waiting in the trees to enact a special [execution]. The cards are certainly stacked against you. Let's see who can make it past tomorrow...

Notes

✵ Participants must be okay with character death! However it may or may not be permanent ;>
✵ This RP will include an unconventional CS and a lot of information will be communicated through PM, so be able to keep a [ secret ]
✵ We're going casual so just be able to write at least a paragraph that carries some movement to it once a week
✵ Each player will be able to make up to 2 characters, with a max number of 22 (based on the Major Arcana). The minimum we need to start is 4. There will be a reserve system explained once the RP goes up
✵ I was heavily inspired by Japanese folklore but your character does not have to be Japanese nor do you need any prior knowledge to start
