Another day another ghost to go deal with. To them, it was just another normal afternoon. The location that they were informed of wasn't that far off, about half an hour. Some secluded farmhouse on a nice piece of land surrounded by forest with its own small pond. They had received the message about just only yesterday and after gathering some extra information, their stuff was packed and they were ready to go. Ashley sat in the driver's seat, one hand on the steering wheel and the other leaning against the door. There was faint music coming from the car's radio which would once in a while be interrupted by static the further they drove away from civilization.

Ash would have never really expected for him and Olivia to have been able to have gotten so far with their whole ghost hunting gig. More so, he was surprised people trusted them seeing that they were both fairly young but he wasn't about to complain. He enjoyed what he did and it made it all the better being able to do it with her as well. The whole ghost hunting thing was pretty simple, anyway. At some point, it all became second-nature and to them, dealing with spirits just became the norm'. Practically all the jobs they did were simple. It was all usually just some lost souls, people who had passed who needed help moving on and things always went off without a hitch. The worst having happened to them were flashlights going out and equipment being damaged but besides that, no ghosts were ever overly aggressive or angry at them and demons were something they never came across. Of course, with how all their jobs going off without a hitch, one would think the one they were heading to would be the same.

With one hand on top of the steering wheel and one leaning against the door, he focused on getting them to their destination, switching positions to having both hands on the wheel as they began to enter the area of where the building was. Taking a turn down a dirt road surrounded by trees, he carefully made their way through and their destination would soon come into sight. Ash carefully maneuvered the vehicle down the dirt road that led to the farmhouse. It was clearly old but stood firm. Outside nearby it another car was parked which Ashley could only conclude was owned by those who lived at the house, the ones who had contacted them. He would park the vehicle close by to the other car that was there and after taking the key out of the ignition he turned to, Olivia. "Alright, this is it. Should go tell the owners we're here."

Olivia was lost in another world. She was thinking, how a small, tiny joke that they would become ghost hunters turned out to be this. She had always wanted to be a doctor. But after being meeting Ash, she knew that she had a passion in Ghost Hunting. Ash and her had made a good team, Ash was the athletic/jock type of the guy who would always bring the camera and recoding equipment and she was the girl who did most of the fighting and brought all the weapons. Even though she went to random people's houses who seem to trust them to kill the ghosts, she always felt like it was her home/full time job. It felt odd and weird at the same time, but she really didn't wand to question Ash.

When she regained her conciseness by hearing Ash's voice she looked at his deep black eyes and said "Yes, I think we both should go" she waited for Ash to say something.

"Alright, let's go!" Ash would smile before leaving the vehicle and pocketing the keys. He would take a look at the building first. It was old, that was for sure but it stood firm and it looked fairly cozy with the night sky. It was probably a real nice place, minus the whole ghost problem that they had been contacted for. After a while of looking over the farmhouse, Ash stepped up to the porch and knocked on the door before standing back, awaiting a response.

The door would be opened by an older woman with an older man in tow. She would look at Ash before speaking, "Oh, you must be the ones we called for." Ashley would nod in response and then the woman would continue, "Well, we're glad you came as quick as you did. I'm Carol and," she motioned towards the man with her, "this is my husband, Robert."

"Nice meeting you two, I'm Ash and my partner over there is, Olivia," Ashley would then introduce themselves.

"Hi, I am-" "Olivia, am i right?" said the old lady. "yes" said Olivia flushing blood red. "Well then come on in!" said the old lady, his husband smiling and nodding. As Olivia went in, she felt a comforting/warm feeling. She still couldn't believe that she was actually Ghost Hunting! Their house was not so big so they didn't had to walk too much as Olivia was already feeling tired. When the old lady offered tea Asher said jumping out load "Yes!" the old lady smiled as if he was her child. Olivia grinned at this thought. After a moment the old lady went out hopping to the kitchen. Olivia had a feeling that the old couple hadn't had guests in their house for a while. But then she just realised that the old man was missing. She kept glancing around worried about the old man and why the old lady hadn't come with the tea yet. Her clothes were wet with sweat suddenly. Instead of the warm welcoming feeling she felt earlier, now she felt scared and worried. She decided to ask Ash if he was feeling the same thing. "Hey Ash, do you feel something weird and wrong about this place? All this hospitality and comfort where a ghost resides? Something feels wrong about this."

Ashley stood close to Olivia, looking around the interior of the house. He felt the same sort of uneasiness which wasn't really a common thing he felt. All their jobs always went off with a hitch, they were always easy with nothing much to worry about but there was indeed something wrong with this specific job and place that he couldn't really figure out. He would nod his head slowly, "Yeah, no I know what you mean place seems a bit off." Looking around more the house, he felt at the walls feeling how rough and old they were. He then pulled his hand back and nervously rubbed his fingers against the necklace he wore before finally straightening his posture. His muscles were tense and he was definitely on edge but he tried his best not to show it. If there was something that had gotten a hold of the old couple then he was going to try and make sure that it didn't know.

"Carol? Robert? We'd like to know what room exactly it was that all the activity is going on in if you guys could tell us." Ash took only a couple steps forward before stopping, awaiting an answer from either of them. He would look back at Olivia with a somewhat nervous look in his eyes. Whatever was going was something they had never experienced before. Their jobs were always easy. Find out where the ghost is residing, get some evidence, and then help it move on and leave the premise, that was all they really ever did but this job was already clearly feeling way more different than the others that they had done.

"Ash?" asked Olivia, "Ash?", still no answer from Ashley. "ASHLEY!?!" Shouted Olivia in a hushed voice. "YES!" said Ash with a scared voice like he heard a gunshot. "Ash, you ok?". Ash nodded as he was readjusting his necklace. "You wait here, I am going to check on Carol and Robert. Stay here ok? Don't be nervous." she said while Ash nodded. "Carol must have burned the tea or something, I hope" she muttered under her breath to herself.
She got up, just when she realised how wet her body was. She quickly pulled out her napkin, wiped her face and zipped the jacket. Her legs were feeling heavy and a weird thick aroma filled lungs. She had to take deep breaths to catch her breath. She quickly took out the Swiss Military Knife Ash's Uncle gave her. She tried to keep a sturdy grip on the knife but she couldn't because of her sweaty and sticky palm. She was practicing hitting air with the knife but couldn't feel that satisfying 'swooosh', it had been a long time since she had used it.
Slowly, with holding the walls and observing it with wide eyes, she kept walking the way Carol went. After a few minutes which felt like hours, she heard Ash's voice shouting "OLIVIA!?!", "YES!" she replied in a second, "NOTHING, WAS JUS' CHECK'IN" shouted Asher back. Olivia smiled to her self and kept going.
After a few minutes she could see a spark of light. Hope lighted in her as she shouted "ASHER! Come here quickly, as fast as you can" and went running towards the light. When she reached there, what she saw turned her hope into dead, cold fear.
