Welcome Half-Bloods!
Ψ Plot Ψ

It's been a few years since the war. Since Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter rose together to defeat Gaia, in a rugged battle that ended with a mass loss of lives on both ends. From then on, both camps set out to reconstruct what remained of each haven for their kind. This included building more cabins and shrines for Minor Gods that helped with the defeat of Gaia. Four long and messy years later, Camp is finally starting to look up again; with the gods starting to claim again, more children are appearing outside the camp borders almost daily. With that, Chiron had set up a border patrol with many of the Veterans that haven't yet become too old to remain at the camp. Others, like the infamous Perseus Jackson and the other six, had moved on to settle down in Camp Jupiter and search for a normal life. The new children of this era, mixed in with some Veterans of the war, try to find their place among each other. And with the potential of a new prophecy rising, the demigods home may be under threat of a new danger.

Ψ Rules Ψ

Ψ Please comment on the Interest Check before submitting a character sheet! This helps me keep everything organized.

Ψ One paragraph minimum for each post. I understand that it can be hard to formulate a response, but it's even harder to keep up with a role play that consists of one or two lines.

Ψ No godmoding. Your character should have a balanced set of strengths and weaknesses. It takes time for great power to develop.

Ψ Variety is important!. I understand how appealing it is to be a child of the Big Three, but there are many other God/Goddess's that have extraordinary powers and traits that many also match your character. I'll put a list of ALL the cabins below. This being said you can be a Big Three child, but it won't be a fun roleplay if everyone is.

Ψ Have fun! Invent your character more! Throw interesting tidbits in!

Ψ Please follow the Rpnation rules, which can be found here.

Ψ No graphic or sexual scenes. I understand campers may get hurt, but don't go overboard with the gory details.

Ψ Do not kill another character without their consent.

A little something to keep in mind...

"Families are a mess. Immortal families are eternally messy. Sometimes the best we can do is to remind each other that we're related, for better or for worse and attempt to keep the killing to a minimum."

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr - Hermes

  • latest

    To whom it may concern,

If you are reading this I am truly and genuinely sorry.
It means that you have found out that you are a demigod (half-blood), causing you to have half human blood and half god ichor coursing through your veins.
I'd like to tell you that things will get better from here on out,
but that would just be a lie. The truth is that you still got quite a path ahead of you.
You still have danger looming at every corner.
Train hard, watch your back and learn to cooperate with your camp mates because
they are now your family. Your life now depends on keeping you and the others around
you safe. Monsters are everywhere, the gods are watching and not all of them will be on your side.

Just keep your chin up, one hand on your hilt and be ready for anything. I wish you the best of luck.

    Sincerely, Chiron.

    Plot:

This roleplay begins within the first days of the Summer season.
As seasonal and new campers make their way to camp, the counselors have been assigned helping old campers move back into their appropriate cabins, as well as showing some of the new kids around the camp.
But, everything isn't so perfect in the life of a demigod.
The past six months, Camp Half-Blood has been startled by a series of missing demigods. It started just after the seasonal demigods left camp from the winter vacation. At first, they thought the child was just homesick and had joined the others with going back to see their parents. But, when another child disappears shortly after without a trace in the night, Chiron realized it wasn't a coincident.
Though, until the Oracle or a higher being spouts out a prophecy, a quest can not go on.
All the campers can do is hope and wait for their siblings to return and the disappearances to end.

To start, you can be one of the cabin counselors assigned to welcome the newcomers, a newcomer yourself, a Veteran on border patrol, or just a demigod going through their normal day!

Apollo's chariot had just began its trek across the sky when the Son of Phobos woke from his slumber. Rubbing at his eye's lightly, Bellamy pushed himself up. Grasping at the sheet that had been twisted around his hips, he swung his legs over the side of the bed. He wanted nothing more than to be able to roll back into bed and sleep until noon. But, he knew that he wasn't lucky enough to get away with that. He had promised Chiron, after hours of protest, that he would help welcome the returning and new demigods. At the last Counselor assembly, Chiron had announced that he wanted all of the cabin counselors to be involved when the first day of summer rolled around. Many, like Bellamy, detested the idea. Other's seemed more willing to comply. But, in the end, each had agreed to complete the simple tasks bestowed on them.

The teen rolled out of bed and found himself stumbling towards the bathroom, arms resting on the edge of the sink as he waited for the water to warm. It just didn't seem logical to Bellamy. Why would Chiron possibly want the child of fear to make new campers feel welcomed? He didn't exactly radiate sunshine and lollipops! He knew that he'd probably scare the wits out of someone before even managing to introduce himself. Bellamy just had that effect on unsuspecting people. It's what he dreaded most about the day: meeting new kids and having to watch the sour reactions bloom across their features, something he had grown far too used to. But, he did make a promise and the Son of Phobos wasn't too fond of breaking them. Bellamy figured he'd show up for a mere hour or two to humor the old Centaur before disappearing among the shadows. Afterall he did promise to attend, not to actually stay for the entire tour.

After a quick shower, followed by a morning routine, Bellamy found himself stepping out into the Summer air. He pressed his palms along his thighs, smoothing out the material as he made his way towards Half-Blood Hill, where Chiron would be waiting for some of the cabin counselors. Thankfully, the temperature was magically regulated to keep it from growing too humid or too frigid when the cooler months rolled around. Personally, he had always found the cold to be more bearable than the heat. He reasoned that it was easier and more comfortable, to warm up, rather than to cool down. But, he didn't have to worry too much about the heat here. Camp Half-Blood usually remained around seventy-five in the summers. Which was warm enough for all the summer activities, but also cool enough that you wouldn't be drenched with sweat every time one decided to step outdoors.

Bellamy slowed his pace as the entrance came into view. Half-Bloods had already begun to arrive. Some of the Veteran campers were standing just outside of the barrier, armor hanging heavy over their chests. With so many half-bloods crowding to one place, along with their families, Chiron had set up a border patrol to make sure that no monsters lingered nearby or ruined any goodbyes from the half-blood's loved ones. Speaking of Chiron, the Centaur had returned to his neutral form, as not to startle the mortals that had come to bid their children goodbye. He spoke lightly to a small group that Bellamy hadn't seen before. Must be new arrivals, he reasoned, shoving his hands into his pockets. The teen waited until the group dispersed before approaching the man. It took a few seconds for the Centaur to realize he had company again, considering Bellamy barely made a sound when he walked. But, when he did finally spot the teen, a warm smile crossed his features. "Bellamy." He spoke, ushering the boy closer. "I'm so glad you could make it."

The Son of Phobos merely shrugged, "I promised I would."

"Indeed you did." He continued, placing his hands on his immobile lap. "There's more campers this year than the last." The man mused. Bellamy loved Chiron, though he didn't show it too particularly well. The Centaur could look at any individual and find something praise worthy. He had a unique way of making each camper feel important. "Now, let's find you something to do."

Look for her as your eyelids grow heavy, or as dusk settles upon the land like a comforting blanket.

Andromeda Sinclair
A certain curly haired curl stood with her family family at the entrance of the camp. Her face was being smothered with kisses by an older looking version of herself. Andromeda looked to her brother and stepdad for help when her mother didn't seem to be letting up. Luckily for her she hadn't decided to wear lipstick today. Eventually her mother was gently pulled back by her husband. Andromeda smiled gratefully at him. "It's only for the summer mama, it'll be over before you know it." She said. Andromeda pulled her into a hug before stepping back. Her little brother shifted from foot to foot beside her. Apparently he was at the age where being affectionate with his sister was lame. Andromeda wasn't put out in the least. In fact she found it to be cute. "Right me okay?" She ruffled his hair.

Lastly her gaze went to her stepdad. He was waiting for her with arms spread wide. He wasn't a man of many words but Andy could understand him perfectly. She walked into his arms and hugged him tight. She took a moment to appreciate his warm embrace before stepping back. "I'll see you all in two months. I love you." She smiled and turned. Andromeda grabbed her bags and headed inside. From behind she could hear her mother calling after her, telling her to be safe and write as much as she could. She took her time to look around the area. She could see camper parting from their families.
Andromeda also noticed the people wearing armor. She was guessing that they were some sort of guardians. They looked pretty badass to her.

Now that she was alone with her thoughts Andromeda's mind began to wonder. She couldn't help but feel a little nervous. It was her first summer at the camp and she didn't know anyone. She didn't know what to expect either. The letter that she had gotten did nothing to soothe her. Having danger loom over one's shoulder was enough to put most people on edge. She could only hope for the best and train hard like the letter had told her too.

The morning was bright, the birds were singing and someone had a headache already. It wasn't like she had been drinking all night but had been reading. Not enough sleep and too many words could hurt a girl when she's down. Looking out from her cabin window, Sky stretched out her arms before realising what day it was. New people and old people were coming back to the camp! It was an exciting day for everyone. Moving to the small chest beside her bed she took out the loose but comfortable shit and trousers that were neatly folded together. Spinning round sh dressed herself before walking outside. For the most part she wanted to be there to greet the Demi-gods coming in, but instead she'd been put to guard the entrance, a task she wouldn't take lightly. With the disappearances and the occasional monsters trying their will to get into camp, it was something she wanted to do well, something she'd have to. Talking a stroll over to the rack outside the cabin, Sky took hold of her bow and quiver thrusting them over her shoulder. Adjusting it slightly she was ready to go. Running towards were the old man Chiron was, her beaming smile was bright. "Good Morning!" She shouted as she ran up towards Half-Blood Hill. She took her position steady and prepared. Bow in her hand and arrow pinned back, she tried not to make herself look menacing to the new comers and their families, but that was hard to do with her go-lucky expression smacked across her face. Looking over her shoulder she waited for Chiron to give an order and allow the Demi-gods to come through, but she noticed Bellamy instead. Giving a smile and small wave she turned back round returning her position.

Anastasia
Mood: suspicious, nervous
Anastasia slowly approached the camp through the forest, trying to find some comfort in the rich greenery of the forest and the chirping of the birds. Still there was small comfort in it, she was about to enter a camp of demigod training specifically to kill her sort. Not to mention being under regular watch by gods like Poseidon and Athena, neither of which she trusted even the latter's recent kindness. Like that wasn't enough she was really uncomfortable in human clothing, feeling them restrictive of movement and dull her senses particularly the sunglasses. She ran her hand gently over her head scarf trying to ease her snakes inside, they didn't like being cooped up and pressed together in darkness and able to move less than they already could.

"Easy, easy boys. I will get you out of under there soon." She whispered gently at the snakes, hearing soft hisses from the inside of the scarf. So limited the space in they that the snakes intercoiled and pulled on her scale causing discomfort. She sighed looking at the rapidly approaching gate of the camp. She flexed her fingers and looked down at them as she extended her talons, at least she would be ready to deal with the worse case scenario. She was sure she could take down a few of the campers and a decent chance that she could lose herself in the forest if it came to that.

She approached the camp akin more to a creature unsure of the type and intentioned of an offered treat. She stopped just short of the gate feeling some sort of barrier in the way, she groaned finding it an ill omen. She saw a few humans ahead and wondered what to do. She decided to try her luck. "Hello... Sorry is this the camp?"

Monsters and demigods? Just when I thought my life couldn't get any worse.
Arcturis

Arcturis Arcturis woke up in his cabin with a yawn. He was a year rounder. He stayed at camp because he didn't have anywhere else to go. I'd better get set up he thought. He wasn't a counselor but he was the counselor second-in-command. And with the counselor missing it was his job to take her place. He went around tidying up bookshelves and desks. Trying not to wake the other campers. He was always an early bird. Even before he was a demigod and had stuff to deal with.

Chris

Being a Camp Veteran gives you some advantages and disadvantages. One of these advantages was that he didn't need to welcome the new campers. He liked to help people, but new campers were just annoying. The disadvantage was being tasked with border patrol. Chris had been at the camp for 5 years now. His first year was at the Hermes cabin because his father hadn't claimed him yet. When his father was forced to claim him things didn't really change. His father, Boreas, was just a minor god who's cabin still needed to be build. But don't mistake the minor part for being less. Chris' fighting skills are one of the best at the Camp. The abilities he got from his father are excellent for fighting.
Border patrol was something Chris didn't like to do. Standing with this hot weather in full armor made him want to turn into a snowflake and just flutter around. But when you are giving a task you need to do it.

So the second year he still stayed at the Hermes cabin, as a year-rounder, as his cabin was build. He mostly build it by himself, with the aid of his father and the other Anemoi. Together they build four cabins, who looked much like eachother. The Boreas Cabin was made of pinewood and the roof was covered in snow. The inside was simple, everything made of pinewood, with a table where some maps were laying on, three beds and a place for a fire but that was covered in ice. From the roof there were some iciles. It was always cold in the cabin but Chris liked it.
The third year at Camp he was the Councillor of the cabin. He became a respected fighter and was often found at the training grounds sparring with others. The fourth year he became a veteran and was listened to at the Councillor meetings.
The armor wasn't heavy anymore, but still, it was too thick and he couldn't move at maximum in it. He needed to search out one of these Hephaestus kid's to make his some really lightweight armor.
He walked to the entrance of the Camp. He noticed Chiron and Bellamy. That was weird, Bellamy, son of the god of fear, was welcoming the new campers. Chiron was getting old, but Chris didn't really care. He flew into a tree what was close to the entrance and observed everyone there.

Most Apollo campers spent their day on an archery range. Tina did nothing of the sort.
Despite her immortal lineage, she had never really been a proficient archer. Instead, her talents lay in a field which didn't involve much fighting; music. She was rarely seen without some sort of intstrument in her hands and liked finding quiet places to relax and play to her heart's content.
However, today Tina found herself observing the newcoming campers. She was supposed to be on border patrol, but had quickly realized that there wasn't much for her to do, being rubbish at fighting. Instead of armor, she donned an orange Camp Half-Blood T-shirt and a pair of ripped jeans. New campers came in all the time, but at this time of year there was often a surplus of them. Tina sat at the base of Thalia's Pine, absent-mindedly attempting to strum out Beethoven's "Für Elise" on her acoustic guitar before casually switching to the opening bars of "Despacito", her fingers flying fast across the strings with practiced precision.
While she messed around with the instrument, Tina also took note of who was arriving at the hill. There was Bellamy, son of Phobos, followed by Sky and Chris who were on border patrol.
"Morning." She replied to Sky, albeit softly so there was no guarantee if she would have heard.

”Hands up if you wish you were still in bed...”

Andromeda Sinclair
Andromeda looked for anyone who could help her find her cabin. She didn't have any idea of how things went around here. An older camper would definitely help. When she spotted an older man in a wheelchair, along with a younger man with what she assumed what dark Blonde hair Andy made her way over to them. She looked them over slowly, wondering if the older man happened to be Chiron or just someone who worked at the camp. Once she was close enough Andromeda spoke up. "Hi...I have some questions." She looked between the two of them. Andromeda placed her bags on the ground for the time being. She had packed a lot of things and her arms were getting tired from holding them. "I'm Andromeda Sinclair."

Andromeda looked to the younger man. He seemed to be around her age. She wondered how long he had been visiting this camp. Frankly he looked less than happy to be here. Would it be rude to ask who his divine parent was? Would he be willing to show her around? Andy zoned out again as she thought, she stared at him without really meaning too.

"Hey, kiddo. Wake up." said a soft voice.

Sean's eyes slowly opened. Light shined bright on his eyes. He covered his eyes, using his palms. Sean sat up on his bed, stretching. He looked at the clock. It was still early. He rarely woke up early unless it was something special.

His mother was holding a letter and handed it to Sean. She didn't show any emotion or expression on her face.

"What's this?" he asked, still holding it.
"Just read it." said his mother.

He started reading it. "This? You expect me to go there?"
"Your father. He told me about this place. He told me it was safe and good for you when the time was right." said his mother.

"Father? Safe from what? Mom, answer me!"
She simply nodded. "Get packing, Sean." She left his room, leaving Sean stunned.

Is she crazy? Father? Safe from danger? Actually, I have been seeing things...

[Sean is now at Camp Half-Blood.] - [Mood: He's not very excited to meet new people. A bit nervous and reluctant.]

"Where do I start?... The letter gave me no instructions." mumbled Sean.

(send help. anyone? also, I'll be adding more stuff with bbcode later.)

Arc (as Arcturis preferred to be called) walked outside the cabin for fresh air. He looked around taking in the scenery of camp. He spotted a camper, a new one from the looks of him, and walked over. "Hey there." He said to the camper. "You look confused, need so,e help?"

thatawesomedude thatawesomedude

Sean wasn't the type to interact with anyone, but he did need help.

"Y-yeah... where exactly do I start? I just got this letter with no information, so, uh..." he ended it awkwardly.

BackSet BackSet

here to help "Wow I remember my first day." Arc said reminiscing. "It was pretty crazy. Anyway the first thing I need to know is who your godly parent is. If you don't know I take you to the Hermes cabin!" Arc was all for helping new people it gave him something to do and made him feel useful. At least he wasn't shut in with his books like usual.

"What? Hermes? As in the Greek God?" asked Sean. Sean looked at them.
These people are really crazy. Mom, what were you thinking? Dad's dead. He's not a god. No way.
He had no interest in this camp. He thought they were all crazy. Greek myths? Greek creatures?

just as sane as you are "yep." Arc said. "Trust me, I'm serious. I thought it was crazy too. Here I'll take you to see Chiron." Without waiting for an answer arc dragged the camper along by the arm. He found Chiron with a girl. Probably a new camper. "Hey Chiron!" Arc said as happy as ever.

Sonatina Cappella

"Arc, you're being a little too forward." Tina piped up, glancing at him. "It's something he needs to accept on his own, you can't rush it."

She remembered when she had first come to camp. It hadn't been as difficult for her to accept, since she'd been having visions of her father while she was on the run from child services and monsters. He had given her guidance, helped her find her way to camp and even supplied her with a bit of godly luck.

"Why don't we start with something simpler..." Tina rose from her spot beneath the tree and approached them. Her guitar shimmered for a moment before shrinking into a kazoo, which she stuck in her back pocket. She extended her hand to Sean.
"Sonatina, but you can call me Tina. What's your name?"

ah friends "oh! Hey Tina!" Arc said at the site of his friend. "Yeah I geuss a centaur would be a bit terrifying for him." He then turned too his new friend. "Say I never told you my name. I'm Arcturis genta but you can call me Arc. And you are?"

He was stunned, his mouth open. What? thought Sean. Thoughts started racing through his mind. He spaced out for a moment. Then, he heard two voices. He blinked, looking at a girl.

"Oh. Uhm, S-Sean.."

Chase woke up to the usual blazing hot warmth of the forge, 550 degrees Fahrenheit . He got up from his bed, slowly walking to the bathroom. In about 20 minutes or so he was out, already dressed in his usual muscle shirt, jeans and running shoes. He stopped in front of the forge, sniffing in the sweet smell of coal. "Ahh." He sighed. This was paradise. He walked over to a rack by the door, holding various swords and shields. He picked a scimitar that had the emblem of a hammer and an anvil on its guard. This was the first ever sword he made, it was infused with magic. He carefully secured the scabbard on his belt before heading out to the breakfast area, he was starving.

Tina managed a light smile. "Sean. Good start. I know this might all seem really overwhelming, but all you have to do is relax, okay? It'll alo make sense eventually, for now just here us out." She cleared her throat.
"Okay, Sean. I want you to tell us...what you're like. Hobbies, hidden talents, perspnality traits, whatever you can think of that might set you apart from other people. Think you can do that?"

Sean said nothing for a moment. "I've been seeing things." he said. Sean paused. "I have ADHD." Sometimes, he saw ghosts. He wasn't afraid of them. In fact, he tried to talk to them. Though whenever he tried to, they simply disappeared. When he told his mother, she didn't really have any thoughts about it.

Sometimes, he's also seen creatures. Sometimes, they looked hostile, sometimes they looked friendly. But most of the time, they look hostile. They looked like greek creatures he was taught, but couldn't exactly remember the names and their descriptions. He was always looking out the window, spacing out.

Hollycrest Hollycrest

Tina nodded. "As expected. That ADHD is something we all share. We all hate to sit still, but those are battlefield reflexes. They'll keep you alive in a fight. I'm willing to bet you're dyslexic, too. Am I right about that?"

thatawesomedude thatawesomedude

"Uhm, yes." said Sean. "So, uh, do you guys have breakfast here? I'm a bit hungry.."
He looked around. "Please?" he added.

His stomach growled quietly.

not unusual Arc nodded when Sean mentioned ADHD. This was normal for demigods. It was just they're quick, natural combat reflexes. And seeing things. He could be seeing monsters or satyrs. Or even ghosts. But that was unlikely. Children of the big three were rare. He only knew about a few like the infamous Percy Jackson. Or the hunter of Artemis Thalia grace. Or the ambassador of hades (or Pluto depending on wich camp you went to) Nico di Angelo. "What kind of things?" Arc asked. Then he heard Shaun ask about food. "Oh! I forgot about breakfast! Well all be assembling in the dining pavilion to welcome the new campers!"

Yes... breakfast... I'm going to eat all of it..

Sean stopped thinking about food for a moment. He didn't want to say that he saw ghosts. They would probably freak if he said that. He thought for a moment.
"Just, Greek creatures.. creatures? I don't know if they're Greek. I don't know what they're called either." said Sean.
