I’m tired of telling you these bloody stories. What, you think I have time to sit around here spouting off shit 24/7? Piss off before I shoot you in the di- make it your sniper and I’ll tell you another one. Pleasure doing business! No refunds.

So, you want to hear another story? Alright, now I have the time. And the sniper. Anyway.

Every story has a beginning, and the previous tales I recounted to you are no different. Before the Vault Hunters discovered the first Vault and the tentacle monster inside, - do NOT search that on the Holonet - the legend of the Vault was but whispers on the winds of the Borderlands. Once the legend of the Vault attracted those who believed in the stories, rumours of a Bandit Lord hidden somewhere in the deserts of Pandora spread across the planet. A Bandit Lord that had uncovered an ancient Pandoran relic; a Vault Key. Most ignored it, but one took note of this really rather untrustworthy knowledge; Mr. Torque. Yes, him. The one who yells a lot and likes explosions. Why d’you think he took such an interest?

Torque hired several mercenaries, specialists in their fields of combat, to hunt down the Bandit Lord and relieve him of the Vault Key that may or may not have been a Vault Key. Relieve him of it in the most badass way they possibly could. The mission was dubbed; Project Primum. No, Torque did not come up with it. So the mercenaries set out into the desert to intercept the Bandit Lord on his quest to find the Vault. Our story begins with them.

And maybe, just maybe… with a skag.
