Human existence is ceasing, the species is dying rapidly due to a plague that only affects humans but human pets are susceptible due to being carriers for the plague.
A man, named Noorvik Amberdale took in dead, or dying animals, an revived them, made them flourish. He replaced their hearts, lungs, and stomachs with machine organs, including missing body parts like legs, ears, eyes, tails, with rubber, metal, carbon fiber, anything that he was able to use. He kept his mutations a secret, given love and attention most of the time, until he fell ill and died shortly after.
The mutations escaped, and while the city is basically abandoned the very few humans still alive hunt them, attempting to kill them to prevent any more spread of the plague.
You are these mutations, will you survive? Thrive? Or will you be hunted, slaughtered, and mounted on a wall like a prize. It's your choice, choose wisely.
