In the quiet town of Blackbriar, monsters of all kinds secretly live among humans. The local university has allowed many supernatural students to obtain higher education without excess fear of needing to blend in. Under the protection of the Hawthorne Werewolf Pack; the town is also safe from many forces who would seek its destruction. Lance Hawthorne is the middle child of Mayor Alm Hawthorne. The next in line to become Alpha of the Hawthorne Pack, he carried himself with grace and dignity. However this did not stop him from being extremely overconfident. Many agreed that sometimes he inflated his ego to ridiculous proportions. His older brother did his best to keep him out of trouble while his younger brother idolized him. Such was his boldness that he risked everything he had in order to pursue a human girl. Turning her into one of his kind, he brought her in as his future mate. Soon he and his friends began tormenting the weaker students at the university for money. Later that week, he decried a man who came for reparations after members of their pack supposedly robbed him. Leading the chase to drive the interloper from their lands, Lance managed to bit his leg. Feeling like he sat atop the world, Lance was soon shown a grisly reality. His younger brother had been murdered with silver bullets found in his skull, right near the warehouses at the docks. Targeting the man who had insulted their pack, Lance declared open war on him...
Yuzuru Kamukura is a wandering magus of Draconic descent. Seeking to ease his sisters worries about his future, he began studying business at Blackbriar University. While there, he met and began dating a human girl. Each day was difficult for him, yet he had his beloved and his new werewolf friend to be there for him. Not the most popular of people, Yuzuru was thought to be standoffish by many. Yet his heart was broken when the girl he loved not only left him, but became the mate of his friends younger brother. Seeking spirits to calm his aching heart, he was assaulted and robbed by a group of drunken werewolves. Tracking the pack leader down, he demanded his items returned and reparations paid. His accusations were treated as baseless slander and he was driven out. Seeking to get back at the werewolf pack. Yuzuru gathered a small crew to rob the warehouses near the docks, as they were owned by the elders of the Hawthorne Pack. Unfortunately the operation went south when the youngest Hawthorne, Jacob came after Yuzuru for supposedly insulting his family. With werewolves closing in on them from all sides, Yuzuru pulled out a gun and shot Jacob dead. Knowing that he could never come back from such actions, he had his crew fire a canister filled with silver-laced gas to cause irreparable damage to all werewolves present. When Lance Hawthorne sent a declaration of war, Yuzuru accepted and killed the messenger...

The Dark Hunters
Led by the enigmatic Zero, this group is composed of those either wronged or opposed to the Hawthorne Pack. Humans, Non-Humans and everything in between are welcomed to this group. Their name comes from the predominantly black outfits and masks they wear while going about their hunts. Making their base in the abandoned railway station, they battle the dominant werewolf pack on a near daily basis
Jacobs Fang
Led by Lance Hawthorne. This gathering of werewolves and shapeshifters is dedicated to the eradication of the Dark Hunters. While not publicly supported by the elders of the Hawthorne Clan. Many have secretly provided aid or soldiers for their cause. Taking up residence in a rarely used warehouse at the local sawmill. Jacobs Fang go on nightly hunts for anyone who even remotely smells like a member of the Dark Hunters
