A row of forested valleys and mountains blocked the view of anything else, dominating the region just outside of Vale. Although the airships were well over a couple hundred feet in the sky, the wilderness still made it obvious that the world every Hunter knew outside of any safe city walls was always going to be there. From the safety of the sky though, it was a peaceful and serene vista for all those on their way to the prestigious academy - Beacon. One of the four best schools in the world for training Hunters and Huntresses, Beacon was exactly its namesake - a shining ray of hope in an infinite darkness.
The expanse of nature would've had a novice think the academy was either hidden underground, or so small it couldn't even peak through the canopy. As the airships came to their destination though, it was obvious that the school was larger, and even more grand than it seemed in any photos or descriptions. The airships glided gently over tall mountain peaks, passing over the large crater lake that Beacon bordered. The prestigious academy stood atop the far end's steep cliffs, with rivers running along either side of it. The five airships all rested along the cliff side elegantly, each one up against one of the ports of the school. This new wave was larger than most in previous years, which meant nothing but disaster for anyone who would oppose humanity in the coming decades.
The second the doors of the airship slid open with a whir of air from the pressure locks, Cobalt stepped out, first in line with a smile larger than most others. He had been waiting to step foot on the cobblestone path before him. He had thought about those first few breaths of pure air from the forests surrounding the school. He imaged all the training he'd receive and all of the things he'd learn. All of this just made Cobalt that much more excited to enter the doors and just... learn. Learn from those who were better than him and knew more; learn from those worse than him on tricks they use to keep alive. His weapon clanked on his back as he walked - Fortified Dignity, something he spent well over the past year perfecting his skill with. Cobalt wasn't sure if he was more excited to use his skills on a formidable opponent, or simply get to know other Hunters and Huntresses to talk about tactics and techniques.
Cobalt wanted nothing more than to be here, alongside his fellow classmates, on their way to take the first steps in helping to save the world. It almost seemed trivial to him - Who'd rather be anything else? A Hunter seemed to be the perfect profession for anyone as long as they could be taught. Cobalt waved to the few friends he made in Vale and on the airships as they all trotted off, leaving Cobalt alone as he made his way to the main corridor. The others all either seemed to be stopping to take a look at the wonderful architecture, talk to friends, or even gawk at some of the other students, either because of their flashy armor and weapons, or because of their faunus anatomy. Cobalt frowned a bit, knowing a good portion of humans still didn't believe in their equality. Still, thanks to the White Fang, their reputation hasn't really been too clean recently. Either way, Cobalt didn't like seeing such things and would put a stop to it himself when he had the time. But for now, he was busy walking to Beacon - to become a Hunter in training.
