A row of forested valleys and mountains blocked the view of anything else, dominating the region just outside of Vale. Although the airships were well over a couple hundred feet in the sky, the wilderness still made it obvious that the world every Hunter knew outside of any safe city walls was always going to be there. From the safety of the sky though, it was a peaceful and serene vista for all those on their way to the prestigious academy - Beacon. One of the four best schools in the world for training Hunters and Huntresses, Beacon was exactly its namesake - a shining ray of hope in an infinite darkness.
The expanse of nature would've had a novice think the academy was either hidden underground, or so small it couldn't even peak through the canopy. As the airships came to their destination though, it was obvious that the school was larger, and even more grand than it seemed in any photos or descriptions. The airships glided gently over tall mountain peaks, passing over the large crater lake that Beacon bordered. The prestigious academy stood atop the far end's steep cliffs, with rivers running along either side of it. The five airships all rested along the cliff side elegantly, each one up against one of the ports of the school. This new wave was larger than most in previous years, which meant nothing but disaster for anyone who would oppose humanity in the coming decades.

The second the doors of the airship slid open with a whir of air from the pressure locks, Cobalt stepped out, first in line with a smile larger than most others. He had been waiting to step foot on the cobblestone path before him. He had thought about those first few breaths of pure air from the forests surrounding the school. He imaged all the training he'd receive and all of the things he'd learn. All of this just made Cobalt that much more excited to enter the doors and just... learn. Learn from those who were better than him and knew more; learn from those worse than him on tricks they use to keep alive. His weapon clanked on his back as he walked - Fortified Dignity, something he spent well over the past year perfecting his skill with. Cobalt wasn't sure if he was more excited to use his skills on a formidable opponent, or simply get to know other Hunters and Huntresses to talk about tactics and techniques.
Cobalt wanted nothing more than to be here, alongside his fellow classmates, on their way to take the first steps in helping to save the world. It almost seemed trivial to him - Who'd rather be anything else? A Hunter seemed to be the perfect profession for anyone as long as they could be taught. Cobalt waved to the few friends he made in Vale and on the airships as they all trotted off, leaving Cobalt alone as he made his way to the main corridor. The others all either seemed to be stopping to take a look at the wonderful architecture, talk to friends, or even gawk at some of the other students, either because of their flashy armor and weapons, or because of their faunus anatomy. Cobalt frowned a bit, knowing a good portion of humans still didn't believe in their equality. Still, thanks to the White Fang, their reputation hasn't really been too clean recently. Either way, Cobalt didn't like seeing such things and would put a stop to it himself when he had the time. But for now, he was busy walking to Beacon - to become a Hunter in training.

Rowan's tail curled up under the long coat he wore as the airship's doors slid open. Dark brown eyes watched as people filed out the door. Just the thought of being caught up in that crowd sent shivers down his spine, so he hung back a bit. Nobody would take notice of a guy who didn't want to immediately dash out of the airship, anyway. He hoped. There was no good reason they would be watching him, anyway. He reached into his coat's pocket, pulled out a bar of chocolate, and tried to convince himself that he wasn't stress eating as he peeled the wrapper down and took a bite out of it.

After the amount of people leaving had dwindled down a bit, Rowan made his way out the door. Beacon was a beautiful sight, despite the fact that the weather was sure to be perpetually too warm for him to be comfortable. His tail uncurled from around his waist as he admired the architecture, relaxing now that there wasn't the stress of needing to go out a door with way too many people also trying to leave. This was the first step to becoming an actual Huntsman, he shouldn't be stressed over it.

While most would've stopped to admire the school, Rowan felt like he could manage to stay aware enough of his surroundings to not slam directly into anybody. This quickly proved... completely false, as he zoned out soon enough,
not paying a lick of attention to what was around him. He didn't notice that there was a guy in front of him until he had walked straight into him.

Azura had not been this excited since she first started her training and obtained her semblance. Honestly, going to Beacon had been one of her long time dreams. Even with her rather gruesome past, she still managed to look forward to the time she would attend the Academy to be formally trained as a Huntress. She liked to think that her prior experience against the Grimm and training with her late tribe would be beneficial to her time here at Beacon. However, her experience inside the airship wasn't what was desired. As normal, she decided to stick to the back of the airship to avoid any attention. Her general demeanor and clothing wasn't the problem, as it was rather normal to be perfectly honest. It was the mere fact that she was a Faunus that she wore without thinking of the actual repercussions. Since her ears were there for everyone to see, people quickly pegged her as a Faunus, and in turn, most typically ignored her or even let out some racial slurs. Azura has learned to tune it out, after years of experiencing it while living with that huntsman who took her in.

Her ears drooped when another student accused her of being part of the White Fang - which she quickly denied and then they laughed and left. Right, the White Fang. Once upon a time, she had been part of their organization. They fought for what was right after all - under Mr. Belladonna's lead - without the usage of violence. When Ms. Khan took over, everything just went violent. Her parents withdrew when that happened. They attempted to take them back, but her parents were adamant in not getting involved with their affairs anymore and locked them out of their village - Yashima.

It was a godsend when the airship landed and everyone began rushing out, since that meant that they would be more interested on Beacon Academy rather than thinking of her Faunus heritage. Crowds weren't really her thing so she waited for them to leave before stepping out herself. One of the villagers spoke fondly of Beacon Academy - and he had described it exactly as it was. Azura adjusted her hold on her weapon and then continued forward, looking around because of the amazing architecture. Azura had placed herself away from most of the students and then stopped to look at the grounds more. She figured that there would be a few more minutes before they were due at the auditorium so this would be fine. She soon found herself looking for other Faunus in the mass of students - since that meant that she would have someone to talk to. There was that one Faunus who ran into one of the other students, but she figured he would be too busy apologizing to actually talk with her. Maybe later then. She began to hum to herself as she walked around.

Zare, unlike many other students, didn't share in the wonder and awe of Beacon's aesthetics. He enjoyed the many people there though, even if he could read from the general mood that some had been nervous around him. Other however had offered to help him out, but he'd refused with a smile and a thank you. He enjoyed his independence, at least for the first few days, so he had refused any guide or aide as well. With this many people here it was easy to move, the masses well defining where he should and shouldn't go.
With a bright smile on his face he just wandered around a bit, listening in on the conversations people were having around him, and in doing so he soon enough picked up enough info to understand what was expected. Even if he couldn't read maps or see the layout of the building, he was confident he'd eventually arrive in the right place on his own. Well, probably on his own and by asking around.

He was dressed the best he could, his clothes neat and with varying shades of pure grays and softer colours. He was never one to have need for much flashy colours, they only tended to complicate the already tough job of matching. So he wore a grey patterned dress shirt with a dark green waistcoat and matching pants. Of course, to keep up appearances he'd accessorised right, but modestly, with a belt and a simple dark grey cap surprisingly close to the colour of his shirt. To keep Starhunter and in the worst case his cane close he had a messenger bag around his shoulder, and as he walked the occasional clanging and clinging could be heard faintly.
Somewhere to his side however he noticed the collide of two of the moving bodies. He found it funnily ironic that it wasn't him, but still decided to check it out to make sure they were fine. Possibly he could also make a few friends to hang out with for now.
"Are you all okay? That sounded like a nasty collision, I do think I have some bandaids if you need it." Smiling widely in a reassuring way, he stretched out his hand towards one of the figures to help them up off of the ground. He just hoped that his sightless eyes wouldn't put them off too much, but that was always just a guess when meeting new people. It hardly deterred Zare from being nice anyway.

Cobalt, of all things, was not expecting another sentient person to run into him. The impact came from his side, which was even more odd, considering the path was a straight line to Beacon. Was he not paying attention? Was he blind? Maybe it was a terrible attempt at a hug? Either way, he decided to not worry too much about it and focus on the man who had ran into him. "Oh, my apologies!" He said, knowing well that it wasn't his fault. That was just sort of his reaction - always saying sorry meant no one could blame you for seeming too apathetic. Although at times he was, Cobalt definitely didn't want to be taken as a boring or careless person in a school full of such exotic and explosive personalities.
Once again, Cobalt wasn't sure what to think when another person got eerily close to him. Instinctively he moved away a bit to dodge the person in case he was on a crash course as well. The sudden figure completely sidetracked him from even noticing the first guy falling down from his own clumsiness. When the one standing up offered his hand, Cobalt wondered what he was doing, and why he was so close. It seemed as though the man wanted a handshake, so Cobalt shook it. Then, he suddenly realized it was meant for the other guy on the ground, and he felt more dumb than he already did. "Oh, uh... I'm sure he could use your help." Cobalt tried to recover by brushing it off, but the awkwardness hung around him. Cobalt then noticed something else - the man extending his hand was blind, or at least had some really amazing looking eyes. Cobalt played it safe and assumed himself to be a better fit to help out the other guy, and held out his hand to him. "Once again, sorry about that. I'm Cobalt, nice to... run into you, I suppose."

Rowan stumbled backwards as he ran into somebody, not at all prepared for the sudden collision and easily losing his balance. He fell, landing painfully on his butt. It wasn't anything that would bother him, but still... It hurt. He looked up to see just what he had run into-

Oh.

Oh, that was a boy. He might've thought that he was attractive under different cirsumstances but, instead, his mind went straight to being afraid that he was angry with him. He didn't even register the fact that the person he had run into was apologizing to him. "O-Oh, I'm so sorry, I-I wasn't paying attention, are you okay?" The words rolled out of his mouth quickly, almost making them unintelligible. This was a bad start to the school year, definitely. What if he ended up on a team with this guy? Would he hold a grudge over him running into him? A school for Huntsmen was probably the worst place to go just running into people, especially for a Faunus. Without thinking about it, he pulled his tail closer to him, most of it moving up under his coat.

Another boy seemed to have taken notice of them and come over. He was... offering band-aids and... held out his hand for Rowan. "Oh, no, I... believe I'm fine," Shit, he'd drawn attention. This was making things even worse. He stared at the hand being held down for a second. He just wanted to help him up. He slowly started to raise a gloved hand up before the boy he had run into decided to take the blond's hand for a handshake. Aaand then he apparently noticed his mistake and looked kind of awkward. Well, looked like he'd been saved from that.

"No, I'm sorry, I should've been... watching where I was going... My name is Rowan, it's a pleasure to meet you," Okay, Cobalt didn't seem mad- oh, and now he was holding a hand out for Rowan to take. He... couldn't refuse to let somebody help him stand up, could he? No, that would definitely look bad. He reached a hand up, hoping that the fact that his hand was shaking wasn't too visible, and grabbed Cobalt's hand. Just trying to help him.Trying to reassure himself didn't stop his growing discomfort or his heart from racing.

Zare had accepted Cobalt's hand and given it an enthusiastic shake, even if it wasn't meant for him. Now he was there he could just as well see it through, besides it seemed that Rowan had been helped up anyway. It didn't escape him that he was shaking a little bit, and he could sense the slightest flicker in aura that he could only place as nervousness. He knew it sometimes unsettled people that he was so observant despite being unable to see them, so for now he'd keep his knowledge to himself and play well... blind. Sticking close to Cobalt, he'd given a bright smile in the general direction of where Rowan had gotten up. He was rather easy to find because of his tail, so he'd manage to smile in his direction pretty well.
"Are you all alright then? Better save up the bruises and scraping for training." His warm smile didn't seem to falter for even a bit, and despite being kept up it was still genuine. He really did enjoy talking to them, even if he didn't quite know how they were responding to him. "How about I go with you from here to prevent any more accidents? I'm not good with walls, or stairs, or really anything, but at least you won't bump into eachother if you keep me inbetween." Proposing his thinly veiled request to join them, he was very enthusiastic, moving a bit more toward the middle so he wouldn't lose either in the mass of people. Well, unless they wanted to get away from him. But really it'd be quite rude to leave the bubbly, blind boy in the middle of this mass of people, and he definitely knew how to use that to make friends. "I'm Zare by the way, nice to meet you both!"

Yuna was one of the last few people to leave the airship. Call her crazy, but she wanted to watch people. Beacon certainly was an architectural wonder, and Yuna did take a few moments to appreciate it, but she was far more interested in the people around her...in the least creepy way possible. Even if she wasn't good at talking to people, at least she could watch them from a distance...again, in the least creepy way possible. There didn't really seem to be much to observe, only a general sentiment of wanting to get off the airship and awe at the sight of Beacon.

She sighed, her hand drifting to her hip and resting on the hilt of her sword. The sword, one of the only familiar presences in the sea of unknowns, brought Yuna a small measure of comfort. She wasn't at home anymore, and probably wouldn't be going back for a while. After all, she was training to become a Huntress, and she couldn't hide in the safety of familiarity forever.

Finally, the airship became nearly completely vacated, which Yuna took as a cue to leave and join the rest of the people heading towards Beacon. She noticed a Faunus girl standing away from the rest of the group, looking around for something--or someone, but Yuna didn't feel particularly confident in her ability to hold a conversation. She kept walking, though she was still watching the Faunus out of the corner of her eye. Maybe the Faunus was searching for something that she had dropped? Yuna had no clue.

Her attention was quickly diverted to a collision that was almost swallowed up by the crowd. Honestly, she didn't want to talk to anyone, and she just wanted to get the day over with, but she was a little concerned about the people who had crashed into each other. Maybe she would just stay several feet away and make sure no one got trampled, then casually leave as if she hadn't been watching them? Tucking her sword close to her body, she sighed again and slipped out of the crowd.

Cobalt didn't do too well when he knew eyes were on him, and the collision that had just taken place definitely made him stand out. Although he wasn't afraid to show off every now and then, Cobalt was a generally reserved person. The only thing he'd show to strangers was kindness, and that's exactly how he was going to deal with the current situation - kindness towards the blind Zare and the clumsy Rowan. "It's perfectly fine, no need to worry about it. Nice to meet the both of you." Cobalt flashed a smile along with his excited words, hoping he didn't seem to be forcing his happiness at all. "I don't see a problem with that. It'll be good for all of us to have some people to stick with, at least until we get out teams together. "Cobalt waited a moment after his words to begin walking again, intentionally brushing past Zare to give him the clue they would be moving without having to say it.

So far, so good. Cobalt wasn't sure if these people were even going to see him again. For all they knew, one of them might drop out, or get transferred, or simply not want to converse with the others. Cobalt wouldn't be that person, though. He was planning on taking his sweet time at Beacon, and only Beacon, with anyone and everyone he could make friends with... As long as they aligned with him. Cobalt knew he had a rather bad problem with staying emotionally distant to people who hadn't proven themselves to him. He was trying to work on that, but it was difficult to change something he did in his subconscious. He could see these people being the kind he'd spend time with, though. Maybe they'd even end up on a team together, although that was unlikely with the size of the class.

Jade like most others stepped out of the airship, her nose stuck in a book as it always is not trying to be antisocial it just kept her distracted while on the airship. Shifting her gaze upwards she takes in the school and its beauty but taking special note of the flora around the grounds of Beacon, taking note of the page she was up to in the book she closes it placing it into her bag following the crowd so that she didn't get lost. As she was approaching the main building she saw out of the corner of her eye a group of people surrounding three others or so she could make out at this distance so of course her curiosity got the better of her and she walked over remaining in the back of the crowd just wanting to see what the commotion was about, only being to see a little bit she noticed it wasn't as bad as the crowd seemed it to be. Just an accident... She thought, turning on her heel she left the crowd returning to walking towards the building.

Onyx was one of the last to step off of the expansive airships. She unleashed her wild black hair into the wind, rubbing her scalp to relieve the itching the tight ponytail had caused. In doing so, she felt a piece of her jet black nail polish chip off. Onyx gave her nails a once over and and flicked the piece of polish to the ground nonchalantly. She'd repaint them later.

Her hips were lined with two belts full of deadly knives, which made a dainty ringing noise as she walked; getting the attention of a few people. They glanced over at her, eyeing her tall stature, tight black pants, and trench coat. As per usual, once they got to her face, their eyes widened in shock at the jagged scar that ripped all the way down from her left eye to the top of her lip. Onyx sneered in their direction, and they backed away a few steps.

Onyx only made it a few more steps before she turned her head and promptly slammed into someone.

"Hey!" Onyx threw her left hand out to steady the girl with shockingly purple hair. She tugged gently on the teal ribbon in the girl's hair after observing the absolute panic wash over her face. "Watch where you're going, pixie dust." She gave a small half smile to the girl, and started walking away.

Oh shit. Oh fuck. Fuck, shit, the blond.. Zare, he said his name was, wanted to walk with them. Fuck, shit,
he wasn't prepared for this. He'd kind of been hoping to flee the scene after letting Cobalt help him stand up, but it didn't seem like that was going to be the case. He couldn't turn down a blind guy. He had trouble telling people who could see no,
there was absolutely no way he could tell somebody who couldn't see no. He had to stay around the person he had run into. Well, Cobalt seemed nice, from what he'd seen. Zare also seemed perfectly friendly. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad.

"... Of course, walking together sounds great! It's a pleasure to meet you, Zare," Well, he'd put the nail in his coffin. He was walking with the attractive guy that he'd run into. At least Zare would be between them, right? He wouldn't be right beside Cobalt.

A voice calling Cobalt's name soothed Rowan's nerves some, predominately because it worked to distract him some.He looked back to-

Dear mother of Grimm, the boy calling Cobalt's name was jogging toward them. This was a terrible start to the school year. What if this person had also seen him walk straight into Cobalt?

Cobalt wasn't expecting to see anyone he knew, but then again, he had also not expected to run into Rowan and meet up with a blind guy, so he wasn't too shocked. In case it was someone he didn't like, he grabbed Zare's wrist to keep him from walking off without him. He assumed Rowan would stay as well. Cobalt slowly turned, not quite sure who was calling his name since he crowd was so large - but eventually he got Auburn out of the crowd, mostly because he was jogging towards them. Although he didn't want to admit it, Cobalt couldn't quite remember his name though, except that it started with an A. Alumni? Architecture? He wasn't sure, but he hoped to find out before he needed to say it. "Oh, hey! It's... You! I didn't know you planned on becoming a Hunter." Cobalt was genuinely happy to see him though, since another friendly face made it just that much easier. However, before any response could be given, an announcement rang out to the crowd that had lingered about outside of the main hall.

"All first year students are to report to the lecture hall for the inauguration ceremony." Cobalt figured the conversation could be carried out as they got there, and motioned for Auburn to join the posse that was forming between Zare, Roman and himself as they headed towards the hall. After the ceremony they'd get the rest of the day, as well as the sleepover-esque night to catch up since the last time they met.

Being grabbed by the wrist was a bit sudden, but Zare didn't mind it. He was sure he couldn't easily lose people with such vibrant auras, and especially Rowan's one was flickering like a broken floodlight. A very adorable one, but still. Zare had also noticed the tail he kept stuffed under his coat, but knowing what it was like to be judged over physicalities he wouldn't say a word about it. The poor thing seemed anxious enough without being judged.
Between Auburn and Cobalt he saw for a short moment that little flare of recognition, their auras shifting to match slightly to one another for a second as they recognised the other. It wasn't something one usually did consciously, but whenever one knew the other auras seemed to happily shift to accommodate them. At least when they were friendly.

Knowing all these things he felt a bit awkward, and he wasn't sure himself what to do with such private information really. So he just decided to introduce himself happily to the new boy, waving with his hand that wasn't held down. That he knew in what direction to wave to he figured they could chalk up to the noise of his running.
"Hello, it's nice to meet you. I'm Zare, and I think the one holding me is Cobalt, but if he isn't then the other one's Rowan." Smiling brightly Zare wouldn't let the darkness of his eyes mean that he'd be left out in the dark. He loved making friends, and even though his eyes were pale and vacant at their core, there was a very kind and happy gleam in them. Out of all four he was possibly the happiest to be included on the little unintended meet up.
As they went to the hall for announcements, Zare was slightly nervous about it, knowing that usually instead of announcements he got an overly concerned teacher pulling him away from things. If that happened, who knew when he'd find these people again? So for the time being he stayed right in the middle of them all, standing between Cobalt and Rowan. Although that arrangement was only really because Cobalt was holding his wrist and Rowan seemed to be on his other side by deliberate choice. He didn't mind, and feeling slightly sorry for him he tried to chat their nerves away the best he could.

Azura was rather saddened by the lack of Faunus around aside from the male she saw earlier. Perhaps it wasn't as easy to find friends here than back in Yashima, where the populace were practically equally divided between Humans and Faunus. The prejudice against them still hit harder than ever, so it would mean that she had to choose who she interacted with carefully or else she'd end up as another punching bag for these... 'heroes-in-training'. She began to hang back from the crowd but noticed one of them with a book, just before she inserted it in her bag.

Against her better judgement, Azura floated towards the woman. Now that she was able to get a good look at her, she looked very mature. Silvery white hair flowing down and just her general aura spoke for itself. But, she did seem rather nice. It was a gut feeling. She wondered if this person was like most others - those that hate on the Faunus indiscriminately. There was a hitch in her throat when she tried to speak up so she fumbled around her mind for words while she walked beside the girl. Hopefully, she didn't notice that Azura intentionally went to her, only to suddenly have her voice fail her at that decisive moment.

Finally, after so many seconds of trying to find her voice, it finally came out. "Hello there!" A pitched voice was not what she was going for. Nervousness has completely settled in her, it would seem, and she was painfully aware of it. She winced at her own voice and then cleared her throat. How hard was it to ask someone you didn't know what book they were reading? That question ran in her mind for the entire time she was walking and the only thing she was thinking was - "Oh, not too hard at all!" - After all, so many people have done it before. That's how you make friends after all! But... it would seem like it was hard to recreate when you're her. "I was wondering... what book you were reading?" Finally, she got the question out.

However, she heard the announcement that they should all head to the lecture hall. She looked back at the taller woman and just hoped that they could actually start the conversation before they got to the hall. Azura wondered if she could make a friend out of this girl. It would be difficult to really know, since eventually, she would placed in a group... and there is an extremely small chance that she'd be in the same group as this woman... if they even get to the part where they can introduce themselves to each other.

Being too wrapped up in her own book as she walked she hadn't noticed someone approaching her until she heard a small voice address her immediately stopping to look for the cause, closing her book she turned to the small faunus next to her bringing her book close to her chest. She gave the girl a sweet smile, trying to dispel any nerves the young faunus may have "Oh, hello there" she spoke in a soft tone. She couldn't help but notice the nervousness in her voice upon the girl saying hello, which was completely understandable since most humans had a one sided look about faunus which annoyed her to some extent. She sifts her gaze down to the book she had just closed and showed it to the girl "It's a book about flora and fauna... nature is kind of my thing" she let out a small laugh her own nerves getting the best of her, when it came to speaking to strangers she has always been quite shy.

As she heard the announcement she looked back over to the large building ahead of them before shifting her gaze back down to the small girl, she was actually hoping that they could talk for a little longer or at least talk along the way since she was too awkward when it came to approaching others.. something she'd have to get used to when put into groups "Oh... my name is Jade, its a pleasure to meet you" she spoke up again before holding her other hand out in hope to shake the young faunus hand. She had always wished to meet a faunus and try to show at least one of them that not all humans were bad but that had proven difficult from the Faunus usually avoiding people.

Yuna made a surprised noise when she crashed into someone far taller than she was, stumbling backwards and almost falling. She was fully prepared to faceplant into the ground, but she hadn't anticipated the person steadying her before she could quite literally eat dirt. Turning around to thank whoever had stopped her from falling, she felt a tug on the ribbon in her hair and instinctively raised a hand to fix it. Then dropped the hand, because it really wasn't important and she was sure that she could fix it later, after actually making it to Beacon.

Turning around, she heard the person--a girl, her brain uselessly supplied--call her 'pixie dust' before leaving. Her thought processes screeched to a halt as she tried to properly respond. A few moments later, she realised that she was going to be late if she didn't hurry, and ran after the tall girl. "Onyx!" Yuna said slightly breathlessly, as if she had run a long distance instead of a few meters. They must have looked like the oddest pair ever to exist, but she didn't really care.

Oh. Right. There was a reason you walked straight into Onyx instead of proceeding with everyone else normally in the usual linear path. In the time that she was distracted by Onyx's sudden appearance, the people who had collided with each other had left. Well, at least they were okay. Hopefully.

Azura's eyes lit up when she was received kindly by the woman. It was rare, but she guessed it wasn't completely impossible. A soft smile found its way to her face as the woman replied. Her face brightened even more when the silvery white haired woman said that she was reading about some flora and fauna. "Oh! A book about nature! I think it's better to experience it while reading the book." She shared. While she wasn't too big on non-fiction, but she read them in passing every now and then. But, nature was really another thing. She grew up mostly around it after all, being in a village in the middle of the forest and everything. She pressed her hands together. "Have you ever been out of Vale? I heard Vacuo has a completely different ecosystem and I always wanted to see how much the animals there have evolved to adapt to their surroundings." She continued. It was never her true passion, but learning about them was better than just sitting around dreaming of what the other kingdoms were like. Azura could never leave, after all, and her life revolved mostly around Yashima and some parts of the kingdom of Vale.

So her name was Jade. That's a pretty name. "I am..." She paused as she saw Jade raise her hand. She instinctively jumped back, almost colliding with another student. Azura blinked, heart pumping. Then she realized that it was not the start of her being harmed or the woman becoming aggressive, but rather a part of their tradition that Mr. Garnet talked about. Azura's face flushed pink as she composed herself. "I'm... I'm sorry for the reaction. I..." She then rubbed the back of her head. "I'm Azura. Uh, let's... forget about that yeah? It's a pleasure to meet you." She told the girl with a nervous chuckle. Azura then moved closer and then shook her hand, but removed it as soon as the first shake ended. She gave her a nervous smile and then started walking beside Jade once more.

Onyx gave a small side smile to the girl jogging to keep up with her. Her forehead creased slightly as she folded her hands behind her back, wondering what was in store for them in the next few hours.
"What do you think they're going to throw at us in the arena?" She muttered to the girl, whose name she thought was...Yule? No. Yuna.
Yuna, desperately trying to match Onyx's quick pace, shrugged. "You know as much as I do."
Onyx slowed her steps down as they approached more people. Her black coat quietly swished around her ankles as she carefully moved people out of the way with a tap to the shoulder or a slight push in the back. A silver haired girl caught her eye, and Onyx inclined her head slightly in greeting. The silver haired girl raised her hand to shake with the faunus student she was talking to, and the latter took a massive shuddering step back and almost slammed into Yuna. Onyx's dark eyes narrowed slightly, more in concern than anger as she placed a gentle hand on the student's shoulder to steady her. It was light enough of a touch to not startle the jumpy girl, and Onyx decided it would be best to keep moving closer.
"Where exactly is the location again?" She asked Yuna. Her face turned a light pink - she didn't like to ask for help when the answer was obvious and the only thing preventing her from completing the action was her faulty memory. The accident was such a long time ago in her mind, but the ramifications still lingered.

Cobalt stepped into one of the lines, which was more like a crowd waiting for a concert to start. He subconsciously kept his hand on Zare's wrist, partly because of his determination to help anyone in need. Even if Zare had been blind for a long time, he still felt responsible for his well being. He waited for Auburn to join them, hoping he would make it in time for the speech to begin.

Eventually, when most of the students had been ushered into the hall, the crowd of chatty students-to-be hushed and a single man walked onto the large stage ahead of them. Ozpin stood in front of a mic and tapped it once to ensure it was on, and then, spoke. "Welcome to Beacon Academy, students. Here, you will learn to improve your skills, cooperate with your fellow classmates, and know everything you'll need to know to acquire the most dangerous job in the world. But, it is undoubtedly one of the most important. As you take your first steps, know that this is a road leading to struggle. It is up to you - and only you - to uphold what it means to be a Hunter. Here, you will be given a purpose, and the necessary skills to survive and prosper in a world designed to kill you." Ozpin stepped back, allowing the stage to the the girl who had eventually made her way up there - Professor Goodwitch.

"Tonight you'll be staying in the hall overnight, and tomorrow you'll all be tested in the Emerald Forest. Feel free to tour the grounds, but ensure you make it back to the hall by nine. I hope to see you all succeed - get plenty of rest tonight." Goodwitch stepped back from the mic, as a half-hearted round of applause was made by the students.

Cobalt leaned in to whisper to Zare. "He's not the most optimistic speaker." He noted.

Zare had a rather blank expression on his face as he listened to the man on stage speak, who didn't even introduce himself really. As he listened to Professor Goodwitch speak, his eyes widened slightly. It was a reaction to the words he heard, as for one who couldn't actually see it had no use to keep his eyes closed or open. Still he couldn't help but look incredibly surprised, nearly confused even as he listened in. When Cobalt had leaned towards him to make the comment, he laughed nervously. Hastily he whispered back to Cobalt.
"Ehm yeah... quick question though... this is... this is Beacon Hospital Academy right? For medicine and pharmaceutics and such?" Keeping the same wide eyed, nervous stare in the general direction of Cobalt, he just followed up: "I mean... it would be really irresponsible to send a blind person to that hunter academy so..." With a light, anxious chuckle he waited for Cobalt's reply
