Back from the Dead?
In the beginning there was naught save for chaos. Everything that makes up the reality in which we live was swirling and mixing together in a never-ending whirlpool of everything. In this chaos existed two beings: Rohem and Bahtim. There came a time when they grew tired of the chaos and sought to bring order to it. Working in tandem, they created reality. Rohem focused on building the physical aspects of reality while Bahtim created everything spiritual. Once they were finished they sat back and admired their work: they were contented.
After a while, they grew bored. They pooled their aspects together to create a child: Lilim. Lilim instantly set to work; taking the physical aspects of Rohem to create a form and filling it with the spirituality of Bahtim. This was the first living being. Lilim populated everything with living creatures. Some had different forms and some had varying levels of spirituality. The most spiritual of her creations she named human.
She sat back with her parents and watched life. Before long, however, she noticed a troubling situation in the home that was put in the humans control. One of the humans had fallen and was not getting up. Five of this person's closest friends went wild and something inside them awakened. They had become the Five Sages of Death.
One of the sages denied their friends' death had ever occurred, and ignorance spread throughout humanity.
Another of the sages became wild with a fury that had never been seen before, and the world became rife with war.
The third sage attempted to barter for the return of his friend to the gods, and human kind became greedy, possessive and cunning.
The fourth of the sages wept and wept, spreading sadness to all the human souls that lived.
The final sage, however, saw this for what it was. He understood that his friend was not returning and so he went up to a nearby hill that his friend frequented and buried him there under the shade of a magnificent oak tree. He saw the way his friends, the other sages, were acting and decided that they could no longer be allowed to run rampant spreading problems throughout the world. He, being one of the wisest of all humans, retreated to the far off mountains when he sought audience with the gods.
He asked the gods if they could solve his problem, and Lilim knew the solution. She made the fifth sage the god of death, Shin, and bore his children.
You are the children of Shin and Lilim, tasked with vanquishing the other four sages and finally returning the world to the peaceful utopia it once was.
Just a little something I thought of. Roleplayers would play as Lilim and Shin's kids in human form.
