Fantasy Battle Academy

For some reason, Lasky immediately started running forward when he heard the whistle, though he really didn't want to. Being sent back to Upton might not be a bad idea. He didn't belong here; he was weak. But if I stay here, I'll become stronger, won't I? Of course not. You'll still leave even if you pass this small test. No. If I wouldn't be here if I was just weak. I have to pass this test! He felt it: his thoughts conflicting with each other as he became more stressed with time.

Azul Naximus
They weren't ready, at least in Azul's head. He was panicking during their walk to the back of the academy. The only thing Azul had on his mind was steam and snake. He couldn't witness the beauty of the forest at the moment, panic and stress had filled him. Listening to the assistant's instructions, it gave Azul some fear. How was he suppose to catch his mentor before lunch? Are they really going to send him back?!

Running as fast as he could, he heard Aaron's voice. He snapped back into reality.
Ugh, don't stress, let's find Ryuga and get the bells, Azul reminded himself. "We have to find some water, I don't know where to get any," he said. He was unaware that there were plenty of water around them, maybe he wasn't skilled enough to do so. His team had to clutch in order to get the bells in time.

The forest seems to have enough shade to keep him going for this, but it definitely won't compensate enough for the beauteous shine of the Moon. Still, they had to do something to catch their mentor. According to what he heard, they'll be removed from this school, sent back to Upton if they fail.

Noire still can't understand the concept of an academy.

Then again, others go to prestigious schools, from what Noire heard. If there are so many students right now, then they must have collected bells from their mentors when they were much little. Noire believed he definitely had a chance in this. The whistle blew, but before he could catch up to Lasky, they seem to have gained sprinted really fast before he could speak. Noire decided to just follow him, floating near the ground moving swiftly towards the forest. Noire wondered where could Seniorita be possibly hiding in these woods.

Agent Agent

The incessant sprint that Lasky had started ended within a few seconds as he slowed down, gasping for breath. He sighed. What am I even doing. I don't have the slightest idea of what i'm doing! He looked around and just saw Noire gliding towards him about as fast as he could. "Ugh... i'm useless."

"Just watch and learn." Hatate simply picked up a piece of glass and opened up the balcony window. She aimed her hand towards the oldest tree standing yards away, releasing the glass from her hand with a thrust. A big thud was heard where the tree had stood, leaving behind a spilt down the middle tree. The girl then turned around and quietly picked up her boots, starting to change into them.

"In addition to what you just witnessed, I can crush almost anything in a few punches and I do have heightened senses. This includes your bones and vital organs, I do know knowledge about the human body and their vital areas after all. However, I can only use this power for about an hour before I start having side effects." The girl informed them, lacing up her boots in the process.

Hatate didn't turn around to address them when she grabbed the door handle, preparing to leave. The girl just stood there however, briefly looking back at her companions. "Oh and boys, we should leave before the teachers start fussing." She paused, leaving her hand on the door knob. Her hand twisted the doorknob, she closed it behind her as she walked down the hallway.

Her movement down the hallways was flawless to say the least, it only took her 5 minutes to catch up to the rest of the student body. Most of them were already gathered at the forest from the looks of it, Hatate watched the other groups converse over thier plans, where as she just waited for her group to show up at least.

Even before she launched the glass in order to part the tree, it was clear as day the general idea of what she was intending to do: she was going to toss that glass into the tree. Botch considered that, for the first time since the beginning of his second life, he'll have some proper fun -- since Hatate decided to show off her abilities, he would behave in kind -- and disrupt her attempts to give an able demonstration of her powers, but decided to behave rightly and allow himself to be sufficiently impressed.He listened, with hidden interest, to Hatate further explain the nature of "chi manipulation." Seeing her leave and knowing its time for the trial to start, Botch nodded to Rojelio. "We'll merely have to demonstrate our own capabilities during today's trial." Not giving the door a chance to shit behind Hatate, he followed at a brisk pace so to keep up with her, albeit barely. He couldn't help finding himself impressed at how quickly she moved even though she was merely walking. In the past few moments he had been satisfied, assessing her as, if she spoke truly about the extent of her abilities, a truly valuable teammate.

In reaching the testsite he halted next to Hatate and the soon-to-arrive Rojelio, scanning the area and observing the other students who will be here to take the test, amazed by the sheer diversity of the whole of the group. He couldn't quite discern why, but seeing all of these distinct people here made Botch nothing less than infinitely more optimistic for this academy.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You came here just to be here. On a whim, merely because of the fleeting opportunity. You've nothing to do when you're out of here, nor for when you eventually ruin it all. Your optimism is misplaced.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Botch listened to the, he was sure, deceptively simple rules of the trial they were able to take and observed the environment with simultaneous consideration; making himself singularly aware of the two as a single idea. What synergy is there to be found between meeting their objective and the playing field this game is to take place in? Just as he was thinking, as if struck by the sudden darting of everyone towards their respective goals, Botch had a sudden spark of inspiration, not quite taken off into a sprint yet, instead opting for a more tactical approach to the trial. He immediately gestured for his teammates to not yet depart before addressing them. "Rojeilo. I know your technology is quite very useful. Is there anyway at all you can get a read on where we should go to find 'Lord-self'? If you can, I can get all of us there as quickly as is humanly possible. With your guidance, of course." To clarify what he meant, he flicked his wrist creating a satisfying snap in the air with his whip, Flagellation. As if prompted to do so by having been cracked, Flagellation's tail began to multiply, spawning 3 more of itself. With a broader, vertical swing of his whip, the original tail wrapped almost impossibly around a distant branch, proving that Botch's motions weren't the only thing manipulating Flagellation. "So long as nothing disrupts my focus on the way, I can promise that crossing this forest in a matter of minutes would easily be a cinch. Finding our mentor? Even more so."

Eye
Eye, the bashful robotic blonde, bit her lip as Ellias glanced at her way with his intimidating bright red snake-like eyes; of course, he then glanced at Tyler. Mathematically, there was no way to avoid this scenario. These, what seem to be, humans were eager to conduct a plan especially Ellias, the more physically fit male. Tyler didn't seem to have much of an opinion, so it was inevitable for someone other than him to speak. Eye's lips parts as to initiate a sentence in response to Ellias, but a knock saved her from the social involvement.

Silently, she was ushered outside with her roommates and now her designated teammates. Instructions were given and those surrounding them ran without second thoughts. Eye, at last, looked at her own team without hesitation. "Our mentor is that way," She said simply hoping these humans didn't seek elaboration. As many of the students registered for this academy, she assumed they all had combative abilities. They'll sort things out upon the arrival of their destination. With her artificial intelligence, she could find her mentor's weak spot in no time... hopefully. She walked in the direction she pointed without an other word.

Mademoiselle Mim

Miriam tapped her chin lightly as Azul asked her if she knew anyone who could be of assistance. Aaron, on the other hand, tossed the question aside treating it as a ludicrous thought. In agreement with her comrade's explanation in tossing Azul's questions aside, Mim gave a helpless shrug to the question initially inquired for herself. As strong spoken Aaron was with Azul, his voice softened with hesitation when he spoke directly to her. She took note of this and smiled then, again, she tapped on her chin pensively, but it seemed their time was up.

Without further adieu, they were escorted to a forest not too far from where they originally were. The rush and excitement had Miriam's adrenaline pumping. She nodded repetitiously as they elaborated on their conquest. Once they finished and stepped aside, Miriam shouted, "
I will find our mentor! Suis moi! Remember, I cannot communicate as a serpent ou tout animal." Upon saying the last word, she *poofed* into a fairly average sized snake. Her, now, elongated body was purple like her human form's hair. Her excitement made her rash, practically neglecting to hear Aaron asking for all of them to step aside to finalize their stratagem.

She whipped out her tongue several times, tasting the air, trying to find a familiar scent coming from their mentor. Azul asked where was there water, but she was only able to hiss in response. Alas, a cat-like 'smell' was identified and she rushed forward; her body swaying side to side in a rhythmic motion, her velocity was approximately 12 miles per hour. She glanced back every now and then to ensure she was being followed.

He witness his teammate turn into a snake, she did promise that she would do it. At first, he didn't see the woman's animal form. But quickly caught up to her, starting to follow her path. It seemed she had sense something. It had better be the mentor or a lake, Azul thought. This literal snake might trick me or lead us on a wild goose chase. Azul only focus on Miriam, feeling a bit suspicious of her. He was slowly decreasing in speed. He began to pant, not really able to get his breath. He stopped himself to get his breather and follow the snake.

"Hey... Miriam," he said, sounding exhausted. "Let me get a moment to take a breather."
Normally, he wasn't like this as Aquarius. He used the water and/or ice as transportation in his hometown. Now, Azul couldn't find any water; making him a normal human in the scenario.

Upon glancing back again, Miriam saw Azul's exhaustion and slowed her pace. How could he be so slow? she thought. Perhaps, it is the water he needs... with that thought in mind, she whipped her tongue out again to seek any nearby moister particles. It did not take long for the mademoiselle serpent to find what she sought.

'The water! It is here!
' was what she wanted to say, but as she, herself, has stated, she cannot communicate in animal form. All the two men could hear was a series of excited hisses. Of course, she quickly realized they knew not a word she hissed, so she slithered off again. This time, in the direction of the water to aid Monsieur Azul. Again, she looked back to ensure their following and would stop if they, for some strange reason, missed her dashing queue.

Clair O'Reilly (Cu Chulainn)

Clair was quick to start making a dash forward with her body and rifle hanging close to the ground. Her dash was quickly followed with a shout as she barked out "Keep your bodies low and your footing levelled, we need to move quickly and directly.This is a search and retrieval mission. Our focus is on retrieving the bells, nothing more is that understood?"

With that said Clair quickly motioned for Nemu to take a right-hand turn towards what seemed to be a rather large hill or at least the highest hill in their proximity. "Nemu you need to get to the top of that hill and guide us towards the target using you telepathy. Also make sure me and fox boy here don't end up in a trap or any area that may slow us down. Your our eyes on this mission, just lay low and keep safe."

With that said Clair split the group and continued onward with Jax now planning further ahead for what was to come "Ok, Jax your my ears and nose. This is unknown territory, were at a severe disadvantage as a result. With nemu acting as our eyes and guide we've somewhat raised our chances however I need your sense of smell and hearing to really compensate for this disadvantage. If we can land a surprise attack and grab those bells in amongst the mix of confusion and conflict then we'll have achieved the best outcome. If we fail this first attack we've more than likely failed this task and we'll all be heading home come morning. Can I rely on you ?

  • Whoosh!

    What was that?

    Woosh! Woosh!

    You begin to feel the wind circulating you and the hear the grass rustling loudly like someone just went by. If you have some sort of enhanced sight, you could see your mentor "sliding" around the trees, passing by you in multiple directions you can't even predict.

    "Catch me if you can suckers!" Your mentor taunted, going as far away as you, but the shades of the trees would most likely to aid him with cover.

Jaxson Morgan

Jaxson was glad that they were starting. He couldn't wait to show what he could do. Once they were dropped off at the forest Clair was quick to take the lead. Ordering Nemu to an elevated position to guide them and telling Jax that he was her ears and nose. She definitely seemed to know what she was doing. The question she asked him was one he'd be more than happy to answer. She asked if she could rely on him. "Always" he answered confidently. What happened next wasn't much of a surprise. Their mentor played with them a bit. Moving through the trees and taunting them. This only drew a grin on Jaxson's face, but it wasn't innocent in any way. He let out a low chuckle as he now had a trail to follow, a scent to chase. "Oh I will" he said to himself in a menacing tone. Keeping his head straight he spoke to Clair. "This guy may have just screwed himself over. Now that I have his scent, I'll be able to track him" he told her. He didn't immediately go after Torga as he half-expected a trap of sorts. Jax has dealt with some pretty tricky people in Boston, so he was not going to be fooled easily.

Elias Walker

Elias was surprised by how quick the assistant was to getting them. Above all though he was happy they were getting to work. He was getting bored. Once they reached the forest, Eye made a strange comment. She seemed to know where the mentor went. He'd surely be asking how when they were done, but now they had a task. He was quick to take lead with a few recommendation. "I advise at least a 3 meter spread and keep your eyes peeled. Don't want to get trapped let alone all of us too. Don't move too fast either, watch where you're going at all times" he said. Here is where his more serious side pokes out. Karai was going to enjoy seeing what was going to happen. For him it was going to be a little show, but for Elias it was life. As they moved further into the forest, signs started appearing. Messages telling them to get out. Surely part of their mentor's tactics to scare them. "He trying to scare us. Don't buy it" he said as he slowed to a cautious walk. He was startled to say the least when some guns that were painted began firing. Elias' reaction was to save the other two, and he knew how he'd do it. "Get down!" he shouted as he quickly transformed into his dragon form. He moved to cover Tyler and Eye from the incoming fire as he lowered down and covered them with his wings. He waited for the guns to stop firing.

( rip, alerts didnt work :[ )

Aaron walked over to the river and didn't wait for Azul. He had to get the bells! Azul wasn't his job. He just needed to get the bells and his work was done.

He took a quick look at it and was going to go somewhere else, but before he did, some bubbles caught his eye. Bullseye! thought Aaron. Though he didn't want to go in the water at all. He almost was going to yell and tell Azul to come over there, but then his mentor would probably notice and go somewhere else... if that even was his mentor.

He ran to Azul, panting. "Azul! Something over at the river! Come on!" he literally dragged Azul to where the river was.

Once Nemu left her room, she walked where the helpers directed her; to the forest. Most people there were already getting started from the looks of it, they had the same confidence as them. Hearing Clair's directions, she nodded as she took down each command in her head. "Sure, but I have to give you warning. Don't let me read too deep into your minds, I can't control my power too well and..." She warned them, ugh gave Jax a puzzled look briefly.

She looked from both of her teammates, before hopping off to her assigned position. Of course, the ice cream girl was quite nervous as her powers weren't....all that easy to control. One small slip up and she could cause both of them to have nightmares for several weeks and that would be the least of their problems. However, she had to keep calm and orderly for this current mission as in one screw up and they could all go home.

The trek up the hill wasn't too difficult, though it was annoying having to bump into some crowds of people along the way. Once she got to the top however, Nemu sat down and immediately started to set up. She placed headphones onto her head, then started to attempt to connect all of their minds. "Uhm tap your foot if you can hear me? I'm not so used on focusing my telepathy like this and I don't know how much time this will work before my body becomes unconscious again." Her voice seemingly bouncing around her teammate's area.

Hatate watched as her other companions arrived soon after she did, they seemed as eager as she did. She moved herself towards a tree stump, sitting onto the stump as if it were an outdoor chair. While listening to Botch's explanation of part of his power, this peaked the girl's interest slightly towards him. That would be a nice way to travel, saves time and most of everyone's energy. She thought, looking around the forest.

Of course from her room's balcony, the forest didn't look too big but from the ground level it was another story. From the towering trees and thick vines hanging down, at night it could only be just a scary. This would look like one of those horror movies forest where people that enter don't come back out.

Looking around the forest, she noticed a dark and eerie part in contrast than the rest of the surrounding area. "I'm guess that our mentor would be in the darker parts of the forest. Since ya know he's a vampire and all....more or less creepy in my opinion." The red haired girl shrugged, pointing just to the right of them. "However before we go in, we should come up with at least a plan since...I still don't know any of your powers yet." Hatate informed them.

Botch cocked his head in thought. He never gave it much consideration until someone else referred to it as such, but he realized now that hearing these supernatural abilities be attributed to him made him uncomfortable. For so many years, he'd grown accustomed to that very voice constantly reminding him that nothing he had was his own, shaming him and berating him for the wish he made one full lifetime ago that ultimately resulted in his rebirth as a, as he is now, Curse-type hero and always forcing him to consider the sheer hypocrisy of his wish -- he wished to earn his way through life, yet his wish resulted in him trading away everything he ever knew for the privilege to use someone else's tools to get by in life. He knew he hadn't earned anything he had now, but he could never stop telling himself that he earned it by the very act of exchanging his previous life, his family and his safety for the right he now possessed to brandish this weapon, but the contrarian voice would incessantly contradict him at every turn. Though in the end, the powers really weren't his; he had to get used to them being referred to as if they were, though, as the absolute truth, he previously realized, was an unacceptable one, and an obsolete one tied to the long lost world of a long lost life. Realizing he was wasting time considering all of this for what was perhaps the millionth time since his rebirth, he went on to promptly explain "his" abilities to her so they can timely set off for their goal.

"I'm armed with this whip you see..." he tugged on the whip, causing the soft bristling of the leaves upon the branch which Flagellation was wrapped about, for emphasis, "and it has been dubbed 'Flagellation.' Flagellation is, by all appearances, a regular whip, however it is special in that its direction, physicality and efficacy are mine to freely manipulate, within reason. The whip is as fast as my mind, as strong as my focus, as unbreakable as my will. I can change how the whip physically behaves, and how it interacts with other corporeal entities. And though it requires efficient distribution of my attention, Flagellation is also capable of spawning more tails, which I am free to manipulate as well." Though the weapon was clearly strong, versatile and useful, he didn't describe it with pride -- rather, his voice was laced with slight stoic melancholy. "As powerful and as versatile as it sounds, Flagellation is, however, not perfect." To demonstrate, each of the current 4 tails of Flagellation stiffened, a result of Botch merely willing it. Though it may not've been nearly as clear prior, as they were very faint due to the mild exertion of Botch's abilities before, with the direct manipulation of multiple tails with such certainty, purple wisps, like ashes, picked up into the air from Botch's bodies and dissipated, vanishing into the aether. "This weapon kills me. Those 'orbs' of energy you saw were a part of my 'life' -- gone forever now. And though I've enough to last me through, I'm sure, at the very least my days in Battle Academy..." he shook his head in melancholic acceptance, "...I'll die before I'm an adult regardless. But do not feel hesitant to rely on me and Flagellation. I've plenty 'life' to spend to last me as long as is necessary -- that includes later warding off the certainly imminent Phantom attacks." He fell deathly silent for a moment, but quickly added to the end in an uncharacteristic fluster, "But there's no way to replenish this lost life of mine." That was merely a half-truth -- there were certainly ways, but none he'd ever employ in good conscience.

He was certainly telling them of more than he ever did Rojelio alone before. He's still not trusting them with the full truth, and he wasn't sure why he was being so open with these things. He acted stoic and collected, but in reality he already trusted and treasured these people he only just met. He presented himself as distant, but he's just as little control over his tendency to gravitate towards others as he did in his previous life. He lived two lives, and one totally alone, and with that solitude came wisdom, culture and a broader understanding of life and the world, yet in that loneliness festered still the yearning for companionship through which his social naivete persisted, and that he hid in simple defense. A cautious childishness, he employed. A naive wisdom. A paradoxical state of mind which he was perpetually stuck in that he didn't yet understand.

Tyler Christopher Mayers

His first of impression of this mentor of theirs was that this Adamson person had been one that had just screamed serious, and certainly he'd been afraid of that. Tyler didn't do that well under this kind of pressure. But that kind of seriousness and the feeling of strictness their mentor brought was one that might have been expected for a person that was a mentor. Maybe that was just how all of the mentors were. Though if there was one thing that he found questionable about this mentor of theirs, it had been the attire of their mentor. He knew everyone had their little quirks, but that was just... plain strange attire to him. Not even the brightly colored hair could be compared to that.

But right now, it wasn't time for thoughts like that. Their mentor had just left, and there would be assistants coming into their room to get ready for this test of theirs. When, he didn't know. But this was a great opportunity for them to actually create a strategy now. A plan on what to do in this test of theirs, tactics. And it seemed that Elias had thought so too, as he'd been the one to suggest they all create a plan of sorts right now. To this however, he needed to give a few thoughts and think about what they can do to snatch those bells off of their mentor. But there was just a slight problem.

The three of them had no idea what their mentor was capable of at all. Which had made devising a plan against the guy at least a hundred times more harder, plus there was also the problem that they all didn't know each others powers yet. Save for Elias who gave it away when the mentor came, and Tyler with is overly detailed explanation of it to Elias. And that only left Eye, their third member now. Both Elias and Tyler didn't know of what she could do, and she also probably didn't know what both of them are capable of. Tyler could only hope that the assistants took a long time, because they at least needed to know each others powers to devise some kind of plan.

"W-well, I think we should first-" was all he could mutter out before the assistants did come in to ruin their planning session. They came rather fast as well, so he probably couldn't have given some suggestion of what they should be doing even if he spoke a few seconds earlier. So right now, they didn't have a plan at all. Tyler and his other teammates and roommates were then leaded out of the room and into the forest the headmaster spoke of before. It was a very large one at that, but then again all forests are large in size aren't they? It made looking for the mentor a harder task than it needed it to be.

Soon they were in the forest, with just the three of them in search of their mentor for those bells. What Tyler needed to do was think in this situation in order to help out the best he can. He needed to do something, at least. He began to take a look around this forest, surveying the area all the while just thinking of what he should be doing. Just then, Eye had apparently found out where their mentor was now. Which was something good, definitely not bad. It would most certainly help them in their search, and he only continued to follow the two in front of him.

Among the three, Elias was the one that took the lead. Giving out a recommendation or order as to what they should do throughout this test. Keep a 3 meter spread and keep they're eyes peeled, okay. Tyler just stayed silent throughout the time they were in this test, not because of fear, which isn't entirely true but because in truth he just had no idea on what he should even be speaking about. Tyler kept his eyes open and surveyed the area, just as Elias said to. Keeping himself within three meters of the other two, as to not get himself lost in this noticeably thick forest.

The team had then come across multiple signs, with threatening messages written onto them. Probably as an attempt to scare them, and Elias told them to not buy it. And Tyler did. There was also these signs with guns on them, he spotted but didn't really take much note of them. That is until they turned into real guns and started firing at them, which then made Elias turn into his dragon form. A form quite big, and covered both Tyler and Eye. He wondered how he'll be able to move in a forest as thick as this though. This was a time where Tyler needed to think and do something though, not think about that.

They were being shot at, and Elias had been the one to cover them under his wing so they wouldn't be hurt. All they needed to do now however, is to either find a way to fight back and stop them from shooting or just simply wait for them to stop firing. Tyler didn't wanna wait for the latter, because Elias might get hurt despite being in that dragon mode of his. He was concerned. So he started to think of how to stop them from shooting. How exactly, he didn't know. But he'll have to cross that bridge when he reaches it.

"Think, think..." he muttered under his breath, obviously trying to come up with an idea as to how to stop them from shooting. And a thought did come. What Tyler needed to do to stop them was to use his power against them. With how his power worked, he could probably stop it by transferring energy into the air, which in turn made it burst forward to wherever he was pointing. That was what happened whenever he transferred it into a gas, liquids would most likely just erupt upwards. He knows his power's capabilities, but his fear just got in the way.

Right now however, he needed to use it. Tyler activated his Molecular Shift on his right hand, energizing all the molecules of his hand. A slight red hue was now present, but then he started to just shake and generally move it as much as he could as to generate movement energy he could use to transfer as much energy into the air. After he stopped shaking it, his hand was now just very, very red. A result of it gaining a lot of energy now. "You can do this, Tyler," he told himself before doing his small plan. He forcefully moved the wing Elias covered them with.

Holding his right hand as if it was a cannon of sorts, he aimed it at the guns. Carefully, as he didn't wanna get shot while he did this. "I really hope this actually works," he said, then transferred all of the energy he made while moving and activating the power in his hand into the air. Causing the air to burst outwards in the direction of the drawn guns, coming in the form of an intense and very powerful gust of wind. A very powerful one as there was quite a loud sound when he transferred it. "Agh!" Unfortunately though, this plan had made Tyler injure his own hand.

Now rather than red, it looked quite battered and bruised, now a full purple. He quickly got back under the cover of Elias' wing, and held his very hurt hand. "I... I think I fractured a bone or something in my hand," Tyler said, clearly under a hell of a lot of pain right now. The pained expression on his face had made that perfectly clear. But right now he needed to know whether or not that actually worked. "Did- did that work, Elias?" he shouted to his dragon teammate. Still holding that hand of his that was in pain. God, this hurt a lot.
