Avatar Arvis

The Last Avatar
  • Everyone knows the history of the Avatars, people with the unique ability to bend all four elements and is reborn when the previous Avatar dies. The Adventures of Avatar Aang and his friends brought an end to the Hundred Year War, and through their efforts, peace began to return to divided and scarred world. While Aang's accomplishments were legendary, his successor, Avatar Korra would become legendary for various feats that would forever change the world. Her most notable being the destruction of the Dark Avatar UnaVaatu, and indirectly the reestablishment of the Air Nomads.

The Avatar after Korra, Ichinose, did not accomplish nearly anything in his lifetime, and will only be remembered for being an Avatar. However, unbeknownst to the world, a unique cosmic event took place during Ichinose's time. One that sped up the regeneration of Darkness within Raava. When Ichinose died, both Raava and Vaatu were released back into the world. Because of the unique circumstances of his rebirth, Vaatu took on traits from Raava. Namely, he now possessed the power of the 4 elements within him, and would be bound to a human host as well. Thus a new Avatar cycle would begin, one of Chaos. Now two people will walk the earth with the ability to bend the 4 elements, is the world ready for a clash of Light and Darkness in a way it hasn't experienced before?

Eric stood in front of the spinning doors, his breath misting in the air as the chill temperature continued to numb his exposed extremities. With a final breath to prepare himself, he launched himself into the spinning panels, trying to move as fluidly as a leaf through the air as he could. The motions required nothing but reaction, something he could do well, but the passive nature of the movements is what caused the issues. A slight miscalculation in movement resulted in Eric slamming into a panel, the jarring effect sending him into another one. The result was he was knocked silly and thrown out of the obstacle course, several bruises on his body from the error.

Weeks ago, he had arrived in Republic City, and had met with his Air Bending teacher, Torin. At that time Eric had still refused to believe he could be the Avatar, but Torin had cleared that right up. A true spiritual master, Torin had used the spiritual energy in the area to bring Eric's Avatar Spirit to the surface for just a moment.
Less of a skeptic, Eric had tried to airbend and had managed to produce a very small puff of air from the effort. However that had been what helped to cement the Sage's claim in Eric's head. Since then he had been slowly but surely grasping parts of airbending and the Air Nomad's culture, though patience still eluded him.

On his back from being thrown out of the obstacle course, Eric slammed his fists on the ground, wincing at the pain it caused.

"Patience, Eric. The wind naturally flows and so too must you. Relax, if you try and force your way through, you will never reach the end." Torin says, coming to stand over Eric. His bright blue eyes shining down.

Eric grunts and climbs to his feet, cupping his hands in front of his mouth, he breathes in then exhales, letting a bout of flame erupt from his mouth to warm his hands. "And yet, fire is all about power and emotion." Eric replies with annoyance.

Torin, regarding Eric for a few moments responds, "Fire is the element of emotion, true. But it's energy naturally flows as well. However, uncontrolled it can be destructive, just as air can be. Don't let yourself hesitate, don't question yourself. Feel it, and let it flow through you. Don't try and attack or defend, just move."

Eric took a deep breath, closing his eyes and trying to put what Torin said into his process, then jumped back into the obstacle course.

"Thank you! Please comeback again!". Dekko's voice echoed off of the walls of the Duwa family shop. The two customers who had recently made their purchase gave one more farewell then stepped outside, letting the door close behind them. Dekko ran his hand through his hair as his eyes scanned the store so woefully devoid of customers. It was still early in the day which was slow hour for the family run liquor store. Though even in the later afternoon hours they were never truly busy. Other then a few regulars most customers would only come by every now and then when they wanted some special. After all it was much more convenient to get your liquor at the larger markets, even if they were a downgraded from the Duwa brew. Then there was the fact that the Duwa were a family of benders. The less then favorable modern outlook on bending took it's toll on smaller shops like this one. They weren't in danger of going under... but they were by no means making a good profit.

There was a small snort from behind him that caused Dekko to turn and watch as his grandmother strolled through the backdoor. "Stop frowning. Even if you can turn it into a smile the second a customer walks in you. At this rate you are going to get more wrinkles then even I have." the old woman said in a teasing manner to her grandson. "Happu want's you to help him in the back. Leave this bustling crowd to your dear old grandmother" Tiyu chuckled as she took her place behind the counter. Finding his mood uplifted by his grandmother's own lighthearted mood he headed for the backdoor. "Thanks Gran" he said before stepping through.

Wrapping a cloth around his mouth and nose Dekko found himself in the workshop area of the brewery. The place where all the magic happened and the Duwa brewed their own Alcohol. The first thing that him was the strong intoxicating smell, the reason why they had to wear the cloths to keep themselves fro getting drunk while working. Here he found his father Happu, moving swiftly from one form to the other as the liquids held inside the tank mimicked his motions, mixing together as if dancing to Happu's silent tune. Noticing his son approaching, Happu relaxed his muscles and stood up straight "Did mother take over at the counter?" Dekko nodded yes. "Good, now give me a hand with this". Knees bent, and arms outstretched, Dekko began to sway back and forth, forward then back like he was apart of the water. Eventually he could feel his own form take over as he swayed his body around in a circle to mix the contents of the tank together into an even finer mix. After several minutes of this the mixture was finally completely and the two waterbenders took a break from their bending.

Moving over to a small desk Happu grabbed a satchel and held it up for Dekko to take. "I need you to go make a delivery too Mr. Hayaba. His back is acting up again. Think you can take care of it?" Dekko grabbed the satchel and gently slung it over his shoulder. "You can count on me. Just the usual right?" he asked his father. Happu nodded and looked back at the tanks. "Feel free to take your time getting back. It's a slow day today." Giving his old man a smile Dekko set out from the back room, waving at his grandmother as he passed by. Stepping out the door he felt the cool breeze brush against his skin. Time too make his delivery then see what Republic city had in store for him today.

Mai looked around in mild awe as stepped out of the airport and looked out at the big wide republic city ahead of her. It was not an easy journey getting her, she had spent the last few months travelling from earth nation village to earth nation village working out jobs to pay her way here. There were probably better ways to get to this spot, still she had to admit, living life as a drifter taught her a lot of things and saw more of the earth nations than most. One of the few good things about her exile it seemed, especially as all the work to get here helped her forget about the exile.

She frowned at the thought losing the moment of awe she had to returning her birthplace. She sighed and tried to think of something else, specifically what to do know that she was here. She had vague memories of relatives in one of the city districts but that information was a decade old. Suppose a place to stay and more importantly something to eat. She figured she had enough money for both at least for a few days. She thought for a few minutes that chuckled at an idea that came to mind. She should be a tourist a least for a little while as she moved to a nearby tourist information point.

Rollo sat in a private room on a train on his way back from a long escort mission with a couple of his work friends. One of them an earth and metal bender named Vul. Her twin brother Acon a non-bender who uses a mace that can be metal bend and an ax that can't, that he keeps in a case to not have people on edge. Rollo always knew they were a good team to have around. Even if they were always a little too friendly with him. Acon" Hay Rollo how about we go celebrate when this job been finished with some of the others in the office. We won't have to work for a while. " Laughing heartily and throwing his arm around Rollo" Vul "Yeah plus that snob of a client gave us a nice bonus as a tip, so we can get some really go all out today."
Thinking over the offer for a minute ."Sorry, I'm going to have to say no to that. I'm going to get another job that is in the city this time and go visit my family. Maybe next time I will but don't let me not being there stop the fun." Handing them a hand full of yuan. Hearing that the train is about to come to a stop the three of them grabbed their belongings and proceeded to leave.

After leaving the train they walked through the city to their place of work. A four-story office building with the word Argus in all the colors of the elements. Walking by saying hay to their coworkers and turning in the job. Rollo walked to the clerk's desk ask if there were any in city jobs. He was told there would be a deliver of high-end exotic jewelry in a later on at night he goes with that and he heads off. Before leaves, he notices the knuckles of his false arm have a little blood on them that you would only see from up close . Not wanting his family to see he cleans it up in the equipment room not getting many looks from the others because it was normal to see Rollo doing it. Once he's done he inspects his hand one last time an exists the office. With a brisk walk, he heads home. Thinking which of the many treats he should when he gets home and what to drink with it.
