The world stands on the knife edge. It will take only one push to set the world off to war and chaos. Only the Avatar is able to master all four elements and bring peace to the world. If so, what sort of world will that be?

Book 1
Fire and Ice

Yasuko set back uncomfortably on her chair eyes closed and trying to suppress the nauseous feeling she had build up for an hour. She never liked the new giant biplanes, the lacked the smooth slow movement of the old dirigable she used to get with her parents nor the quietness as the four engines bizzing constantly in her ear. The old dirigables were floating homes while these biplanes felt more like cramped buses. Still they were faster and much harder to track and hit than the blimps and for her that was worth the discomfort. She looked over at Kimi nearby wondering how she was taking it, she was younger so probably enjoyed it. The speed, the travel.. Just like Korra would. Yasuko sighed at the thought remembering her mothers inspecting one of these biplane prototypes, Asami excited of having something that will revolutionise travel and improve her business while korra just wanted to travel. Well Korra was riding these plane now, through Kimi in a sort of way and the feeling was comforting and warming.

She dared to look out one of the window, seeing some icebergs floating in the sea below. She turned away immediately regretting it, any thing she eat the last week threatened to spill out of her. She had gotten what she wanted thought. they should be in the southern water tribe capital within the hour. She was a little excited, to be among master water benders as they helped train Xiao, she herself could learn a few things. Finally she would trian with her mother... "No, Yasuko, Kimi is not your mother. She has her own family, look at her with her big brother." a nagging voice said in the back of her mind. She tried to ignore the logic but it was hard to. It was also excited as she was going to meet her grandfather Tonraq ...Sort of. She was told they had met before softly after she was adopted but remembered little of it. He was said to be a great fighter in his time but has gotten old with the death of his daughter and the trouble with the fire nation and the Air protectorate weighing him down. She wondered what he would think of her and Kimi. Out of the scenarios in her mind only the worst ones seemed to stick in her mind.

"How are you guys doing?" She asked trying to get her mind out of her nausea.

Something about this didn't seem right. Kimi felt like she should be sad, or angry, or lonely. She hadn't lost Mae too long ago, but instead of any kind of grief or emptiness, Kimi had her face pressed up against the window of the biplane. It was exciting, yes, but the young girl found that if she focused on the clouds and icebergs floating past, she'd be less sick. "I don't like it," she stated, words semi muffled due to the direction of her attention. "Too bumpy. It's making me feel queasy." Turning from the window, Kimi took in the unfamiliar woman sitting near her and her brother. "When can we get back on the ground? Are we gonna be there yet soon? Where are we going, again? If the biplane were bigger, do you think it would be less bumpy?"

She wanted to feel sad. She wanted to cry. But the tears wouldn't come, the emotion just wasn't there. She loved Mae, and knew Tao did too, and she wanted to grieve for her. Perhaps it was the shock of everything that's been happening as of late, distracting her from the reality of her situation and just how dire it is. Perhaps her young mind just couldn't process it, like how she couldn't understand why she couldn't see her parents for the most recent five years of her life. Or, worst of all, perhaps she honestly just didn't care as much as she thought she did? It was hard to tell at the moment, her thoughts were too muddled with the effort to keep breakfast down, and it wasn't like she had much time to think on it earlier, either.

Hia had come a long way since she had left home, from the fire nation to the earth, to republic city to some of the air temples and now to the southern water tribe. All around the world had she traveled though only in the past few years had she had any purpose. She was on a journey lead by the spirits to some goal she didnt know yet. Still hia trusted the spirits to guide her. Still hia decided as she was already here so she should go to the spirit portal located in the area.

Hia still had one issue or rather had an issue as she traveled down and that was that the frozen south was cold. That much was obvious to anyone who had traveled both tribes being built of ice were cold. The clothes of the fore nation were not made for the cold of the poles were exposed skin coukd easily freeze if exposed to long. There was also the issue of that island causing sn issue between fire and water nation it was not the best idea to wear red in this area.

The solution to the problem of being the wrong kind of person and being cold was the same a change of clothes. Money was money and lucky few places refused to take any nations money and while Hia was not rich she knew how to make enough money to get by and thus had enough to buy a change of clothes. Thus Hia now garbed in blue and white warm clothes could set out to continue her wandering.

Tao was feeling the full effects of the two weights on his stomach, each vying to the be the reason he would expel his breakfast. Mae was on the mind and it seemed impossible to find a reprieve from the grief. Each time his mind drifted from her his body would bring him back, one glance to his side at the empty sleeve as a constant reminder. Between that and the turbulence, Tao was suffering on the ride. Left arm wrapped around his waist and eyes looking over Kimi's head as he tried to focus on anything besides the rumbling. The large icebergs were his focal point, studying them before they passed just to find a new one to stare at.

Yasuko spoke up nearby, breaking the usual sound of the engine's puttering and the wind as it glided by. The woman was the daughter of Korra, the avatar previous to Kimi, and was to join them to the Northern Water Tribe. After which, Tao wasn't sure. "We should be landing soon," The outer reaches of the city beginning to appear in the windows, fishing vessels and the outer limits of the docks approaching his view. "In Harbor City, the capital of the Southern Water Tribe." Tao looked down from the window at Kimi, then around the plane as he tried to figure out her last question. "I don't know, but maybe we'll get a chance to ask the pilot when we land." Tao gave a small smile before returning to the window, that amount of time returning the green to his face.

Yasuko chuckled at the reaction of the both of them, feeling relieved that she was not the only one feeling quisse by the trip. "I am glad someone is not enjoying this like I am not. I am usually a good flyer and I may sound like an old woman but I can stand these new fangled biplane." She said before groaning at another jump of the plane, she felt herself through up in her throat à little." oh... Spirits help me.."

She took a second or to recover before taking a peek outside the window."You are right"I suspect another half hour of flight before we land." She said to the brother before turning to Kimi. She felt for her and her brother too, from what she heard Kimi had been through alot before the white lotus found her. The uprising, the loss of home, a sibling and now starting the harder still life of an avatar. Yasuko wanted to say something exciting or comforting for the young girl but her words failed. "You will like it in Harbor City, the leader is family will treat us well. You will learn water bending from some of the best benders out there. Also Southern food is absolute delish even does look a little funny. "

The seating area, aside from the first few rows for reasons apparent to all but first time attendees, was full of spectators, all eager for events to get underway. A wizened but commanding man stood in the centre of the ring. He raised his left arm into the air. "Welcome to Earth Rumble! I am your host, Sheng Fu!" The crowd whooped and hollered in response. "The rules are simple. Just knock your opponent out of the ring, and you win! Our first match: The Winged Lemur vs. The Bull!"

The Bull energetically made his way to the ring. He was just as anxious as the crowd to get things started, if not more so. Entering the ring, he turned to face the cheering crowd, his arms raised, bathing in their adulation. The Bull turned back towards the centre of the ring as dust began to build up in the air. He could see his opponent, the Winged Lemur, glide into the ring on a cloud of dust and dirt, accompanied by the boos of the audiences, before landing a short distance in front of him. The Lemur very much resembled his namesake with a white and brown mask, featuring large ears, large green eyes and a black nose, covering his face, a white cape that was split down the middle to resemble the wings of a lemur, finished off with white shorts and a black sash resembling a tail.

A bell rung out. The Bull pointed at the Lemur. "Listen up, Lemur. You should know better then to step into the bull pen!" The Bull exclaimed, grinning insanely before raising his hands to the side of his head and extending his index fingers to imitate a pair of horns. "Because when you mess with The Bull, you get the horns!" The Lemur simply tilted his head in response before using his bending to briefly pelt the Bull with dust and dirt. The Bull wiped the dust from his eyes and face. He flared his nostrils. "Now The Bull sees red!"
