Raneth
Woman of Letters
Night had befallen the city and the cresent moon provided only enough light atop the one barren hill, where battles are often taken to, in order to prevent civilian casualties and allow for more moving space for fighters. This night was such a night. Beams of dark energy shot from one side, while young men and women dodged and charged from the other side, combing their talents with one another or using power suits to augment their physical strengths. Ariya stood in the middle of her comrades. Close enough to the front line to provide quick support, and protecting those who had long-ranged abilities or tools and acted as snipers.
She was panting as the battle went on. It had already been over forty minutes and the monsters wouldn't cease. More and more seemed to spring up. For the first time in months, they had gathered in the nearby square and this prompted an emergency calling to agents. Often, they were in small groups or were singular units that had to be dealt with by solo hunters or teams of up to three individuals. Most of the youth in the organization weren't properly trained to handle larger scale battles, as much of these were faced in generations passed.
Her thoughts were interrupted as a bolt made it's way in her general direction, likely aiming for a shooter or spell caster behind her, closer to the tree line. Ariya grit her teeth and forced her hands out, an orange sheet quickly forming out twice her arm span in length. She physically grimaced as the bolt bounded off, heading upward instead. Immediately she released the barrier and panted further. How much longer would this last? She looked to others that held the same position as herself and could see they were worse for wear themselves. Her attention turned to the warriors on the front line, and realized that most of them had grown far more sluggish. While the numbers of the monsters had dwindled, there still had to be around a dozen of them.
(( @Idea Alright, here it is. Hopefully it's something you can work with. ))
