The upcoming alignment of the planets was announced only four years ago, in the year of 2850. Following the announcement, the earth erupted into activity. Some people thought it was a bad omen, while others were already starting to get ready to throw a huge celebration. Our peculiar group of sixteen, on the other hand, did not know what to expect. That is, until the day came.
Life would not be the same after the alignment of the planets. For, it would change all of Earth as we knew it. The day would mark the "birth" of the new celestials; the awakening of fourteen beings created from stardust--or, in some cases, the descendants of those who were. For, though it is now forgotten and happened so long ago, fourteen beings fell to Earth during the beginning of humanity, when the planets did not yet stir. They were praised as deities who watched over the galaxy; the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, the Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Capella, Sirius, Vega, Arcturus, and Procyon. But, humans can not live for long when celestials walk among them, as their 'deities,' who originally thrived through living off of the energy of the stars, had no choice but to live off of the energy humans created. So, in order to keep order in the galaxy, and on Earth in particular, some sacrificed their very existence while others fell into shadow, and faded to nothing more than memories.
Now, the existence of humanity is threatened once more as the solar system aligns, but this time, for a different reason. This time, following the awakening of the celestials, time itself has begun to slow down, for reasons unknown. Days are beginning to stretch on longer and longer, though at such a slow pace that it's almost unnoticeable. Life may be normal for now, but who knows how long it'll be till time comes to a stop?
And, not to mention, how will the new celestials come to accept who they really are? Will the old ones even acknowledge them? Time will be the least of their worries as their eyes are opened to the truth, yet, what if this is all their own fault?
