Realistic or Modern Area 53 (Detailed RP)

I am rebooting an RP in hopes of getting more dependable writers. That said, this RP will not begin until AFTER the holidays. I expect a great number of writers to be busy with family stuff during that time anyways. It will also give more time to tweak characters.


This RP is about a group of military brats (teenagers) who will encounter a group of aliens whose lifepod has crashed all too close to Area 53 (Dugway Proving Grounds). This is a real location, maps provided in the RP. The time is set in the near future - late summer 2019 - about a month before school starts. As the aliens look absolutely nothing like humans, they will attempt to make use of the children to get back to their lifepod and effect repairs.


Unknown to the teenagers, the very fate of humanity rests in their hands. And the fate of the children rests in the hands of one alien.

Great ... setting the estimated start for after the holidays to see if we can get more serious writers. (Comedy is fine. In fact, one of the aliens is a bit of a prankster. Yes, the aliens have personalities ... and pronounceable names.)

Nah .. I actually have the aliens posted already in the RP. Matilda's name and even the pics I use are from a real Earth cat. I saw the photos and was inspired to create an RP some time back. Partly the plot comes from Day the Earth Stood Still. Humans are being judged by intergalactic aliens as unfit to live.

yep ... if folks want to work on their CS and have them ready, that is fine. I was just planning to hold off actually starting the RP until a little after Jan 1st. Yes ... I know, that is like forever in RP years, but I am trying to avoid the "Oh, neat RP. I have a week off at X Mas" crowd. That is partly what happened to the last attempt to start this.


I am probably going to add a line to the CS about the parents / legal guardians - ie which one(s) is in the service, the branch, etc. I will be a little critical on this as a mixed branch marriage doesn't work well (ie a USAF father and a USMC mom on an Army post ... not very realistic. And an officer and someone in their own command? That one is a no no.

Interested. What is the min/max age for the teenagers and do they all attend the same school?

High school. As it will be about late July - before school starts, I would say 17 at the oldest. There is only one school for about 75 miles. So yes, one school. In fact the middle school and elementary school are right next to it. There is a map of the school in the RP. A lot of your questions are answered in the overview if you follow the link.
