Welcome to Auratia, 2nd largest city on earth. Littered with gentle lights of every colour, around every corner, on every wrist is a holographic computer. soaring through the sky are the efficient fusion powered vehicles, each featuring unique styles, which are available due to efficiency no longer being a problem, leaving behind glistening trails of wasted blue plasma. This is the final stage in human development. cybernetics have improved the function of every single part of a human body. There are in fact 2 humans that are now only brains, although many other use legs, hearts, arms etc. Some however, chose to stay 'natural'. The world is a lot different now, there are 5 major cities around the world, and no countries, each city simply has a government. These cities are gargantuan, Imagine a city such as London, then imagine 20 of those attatched, this is the average city size. World population is all very compressed, and height allow many people to be in the same position in terms of population, for maximum efficiency, freeing up the rest of the world for farmland. Fuel is hydrogen, fusion powers our world, we send space shuttles to the local gas giants, and bring back more fuel than we can ever need.
Now onto small and personal technology that you might possess. There are many different manufacturers for HIC (holographic interfacing computers), or lenses. However, these all run on one operating system; Gruant, a cloud, that stores every piece digital data in existence, allowing for gaming, internet, 3rd party programs (not operating systems), movies, communications, everything. 99.79% of the population own at least one device with this system, it is a crucial part of life now. The primary businesses on the planet are now farming and entertainment, work hours are only an average of 3 per day. Robots and AIs support mankind, alongside the farmers, but little effort is needed due to modern efficiency. Entertainment is large because everybody is a consumer, life is luxury, people live to indulge in everything they can, life is to be enjoyed.
In each city exist wealthier zones, and middle class zones, lower class is not a thing. There is a very minuscule amount of crime going on in the world, consisting of illegal drug(of which there are now few) trafficking and bounty hunting, but one will seldom even know of it existing anymore.
And after a nice long essay, the setting is complete, what will happen, i hear you thinking?(yes, i hear thoughts, deal with it) Well, with the population so dense, a disease wouldn't struggle spreading now would it? But no, this is not a zombie disease, not a deadly flu, not leprocy, but Antos-1, the first strain of the virus that is to end mankind.
Any infected individual will experience the following symptoms:
week 1-will become much more sociable and be much more friendly, and touchy
week 2-will begin to sweat more than usual, this sweat is riddled with the virus and can enter the body through mouth, ears, eyes or nose. Will become more friendly and touchy
week 3-amenability will turn to violence, infected subjects will chase any human they see and will try to embrace and trap them by any means necessary to transfer sweat, however, they will not try to harm the victim.
week 4-will attack any uninfected individual they notice, any wounds will guarantee infection as week 4 subjects are laced with contaminated sweat.
week 5-senses in the subject are weakened
week 6-brain is heavily deteriorated, will die soon
