Monsters
A monster is defined by a humanoid appearance or one humanoid form (there are certain exceptions to this rule).
A intelligence that will allow them to use modern technologies.
A ability to suppress natural instincts if said species is so inclined to be dangerous or aggressive towards other species.
that they are capable of cross breeding in most circumstances
It should be noted that a human is under the classification of a monster due to the “ representation and equality act of 1907” that would removed the previous exemption of humans form this classification system under the grounds they could be considered monstrous to many other species. Hunting of monsters is in most civilised countries considered simply murder and people are fined accordingly, there are still some counties and places around the world that do not have fines or penalties for hunting them if the can prove the monster was “a danger to the community at large” this law is incredibly vague however thus many get away with it, these places tend to not run the classification of humans as monsters as well, there are currently programs attempting to fix this
Beasts
Beasts are defined by a monstrous non-humanoid appearance or truely monstrous/ hideous appearance
Lack intelligence beyond animalistic cunning, incapable of communication between species
Aggressive and territorial predatory nature
they appear form a rift at random either disappearing into the wilderness or instantly attacking
Beasts continue to plague the world to this day generally avoiding large populations centres like cities they will on regular occasions attack farms and smaller towns or campers and the like. Although many species can deal with these smaller beasts when do attack, larger ones require one to call in the beast hunters, basically animal control on steroids to kill the beast. There are also free lance beast hunters that do it just for the thrill or profit form selling there meats and organs. Large beasts that to appear in cities can be a big problem sometimes destroying a entire block before being taken down, and every so often making a town disappear.
