Julian Arrington
I don't care what you think
as long as it's about me
Julian moved through the crowd, carefully dipping a key into a tiny vial of white powder. Taking great care not to spill any, he lifted the small mound he'd scooped, and shoved it up into his nostril to eagerly snort it back. He breathed a sigh of contentment as the substance left behind a pleasant numbness, dripping down his throat.

Well, hello, chéri. Enjoying the party?

He sure as hell was. Finally, something worth a damn was going on in this boring-ass town.

Julian turned to the honeyed voice at his side, a wolfish grin tugging at his lips as he looked her over. She was a local, he was sure of that. Not too many of them went out of their way to chat him up, save for the strippers earning their tips, or the bored moms who watched his sitcoms. The director wasn't fawned over nearly as much as he thought he would be in Paradise, much to his disappointment.

“Bonsoir, ma belle,” He shot back playfully. “How about you? I don't even see a drink in that hand,” Julian remarked, nodding toward her empty digits. “Shall we fix that?”

Back in LA, he blew way too much cash on high-priced escorts. Never had to seek them out, they always came to him. This one had the same assertive tone in her approach, though Julian was doubting he’d run across a pro in this town. Perhaps just a classic aspiring actress? He had no problem with either possibility. Both types knew exactly what they wanted from him, offering up a good time without trying to rope him into a messy affair.

He glanced around before turning his attention back on the brunette before him. The wife had been threatening to stop by earlier, but it appeared he'd gotten lucky, and Astrid was held up, at least for the moment. Still, he thought it best to err on the side of caution, and attempt to hustle this beauty into the nearest unoccupied room in case she happened to show up.

“...Or if you prefer to play in the snow a little, I got you,” Julian added with a wink, flashing the vial before tucking it away in his jacket.

Alexei Milyukov
Why get used to something new?
Cuz no one breaks my heart like you
“Congrats, Letty!” Alexei leaned in to give his friend a peck on her cheek.

“Frank,” He then turned his attention to her new fiancé, clapping Francisco's shoulder in a friendly gesture of camaraderie. “You're a lucky man,” He grinned, taking a step back to look at them together. Amongst all his jaded and cynical friends, it was nice to see a happy couple proudly celebrating their love.

While his first instinct was to be jealous of his ex-girlfriend's new man, but was hard to be angry when Scarlett looked so elated, and Alexei couldn't help but like the guy. There was no denying how well they complimented each other.

After saying his goodbyes, he had to wrangle Kaz out the door, who was still trying to mingle with just about every woman left at the party. A short drive later, and the Milyukov boys were at their next destination.

“You didn't have to come with, ya know,” Alexei remarked as he hopped out of his pickup truck, and headed down the street toward the Kennedy residence. “Since when do you go to house parties? Anyway, I'm only going because I promised Dani I'd make an appearance,” He lied. In fact, he was probably the last person Danielle wanted to see while she strutted around the party, looking for the next victim to add to her stable of johns.

“This is your friend's party, right? The blonde? Heard she's a lot of fun,” Kaz quipped back, taking a couple long strides to catch up to his younger brother. “Maybe I'll show her what it's like to be with the superior brother,” He added with a sly smirk.

“Hahaha. Funny.” Alexei deadpanned, hurrying slightly ahead with a scowl. It was bad enough Kaz hooked up with Scarlett, and God only knew who else. If there were more, Alexei didn't wanna know about it. The thought of being compared to Kaz in that way was one he just didn't need rattling around in his brain.

Alexei bristled as they passed a plain-clothed police officer posted up by the door. A fucking cop, and not even one of the crooked ones on Kaz's payroll. Indignant that Skylar had ignored his paranoid rant against her idea to hire some local officers as security detail for the night. It's their JOB to fuck over people like you and me, Alexei would pontificate, if anyone was listening right now.

You can't trust cops, they just make any situation more complicated. Alexei wondered how any of these people could let loose with all these cops watching them like a hawk. Half of them would probably end up with charges by morning?

Luckily, it didn't take long to spot his girl by her tiny stature and cascade of raven locks flowing down her back. Tossing those glossy strands back as she chatted with a guy he recognized well from the Minx. One of the Hollywood douchebags that hung around Kaz’s strip club.

Alexei narrowed his eyes as he watched Dani pretend to laugh at whatever dumb comment he made, suddenly awash with anger at the sight. Unable to restrain himself from instantly marching over to them–not that he was trying very hard to do so.

Sliding up behind Dani, he wrapped his arms around her as if guarding his prized possession. “Sorry, chief, she has a boyfriend,” Alexei insisted with his most obnoxiously serene smirk.

ASTRID ARRINGTON
Astrid was torn. One one hand, the invite to go to her ex husbands house was very tempting, especially with the photos of her current husband flirting with some slut at the "business" party he claimed to be at were sent to her. She loved him, more than she had ever loved anyone, but also hated him with her whole being. How could he just treat her this way? They're married, with a baby. Granted, a baby she was convinced who hated her. But still. They had a life together, and he always chose the single life he craved.

So, she was torn. She had three choices. To stay at this bar and cry into her drink, go to her ex husbands house, or go to the party and confront Julian. All three were very tempting. But, she hated the idea of her relationship with Julian crumbling. She didn't want it to end. So she made her driver take her home so that she could freshen up, change clothes, and then take her to this party. What was he even doing here anyway? From the car window she could see that everyone stumbling around seemed to be kids, early twenties to late twenties at most. Did he really need to be spending his time here instead of with her?

Angrily, she got out and marched right up those stairs and was instantly met with loud music that was sure to give her a head ache later. But she needed to talk to him, maybe even go home, have a night together, and talk about what's wrong with them. Was it because she had the baby? Because she wasn't as pretty as she was when they got married? He used to worship her, treat her like a goddess, but now it seemed as though he didn't want to spend even five minutes with her.

With her height, and she heels she decided to wear, she was able to easily see over the crowd to try and spot that familiar head of dark hair, but with how many people there were, it seemed impossible. How was this not a fire code of some sorts? And obviously the cops knew of the party if there were guards posted. Did someone just grab her ass? Astrid was tense, and so badly wanted to just leave, but then she spotted him. Still, talking to that girl in the photo, but with a man she recognized as Alexei standing next to the girl. Did she read this whole situation wrong? Clearly Alexei was that girls boyfriend.

If Astrid didn't have foundation on, her face would be as red as a tomato as she watched the interaction taking place. But, she straightened her spine and strode over, placing a small smirk on her lips, "hey handsome," She greeted her husband, placing a peck on his cheek, thankful she wore her 24 hour wear lipstick so there was no stain. Slipping her arm through his, she turned her attention to the girl and Alexei, giving them a once over, "honey, would you like to introduce me?" She asked, turning her eyes back to her husbands. She hoped this would be short and sweet so she could leave with him.

LUNA BOWING
The ache from being on your feet for 8 hours and running back and forth from the kitchen to the dining room was slowing Luna's movements as she cleaned up the last of the tables. All her duties were done; she'd refilled the salt and pepper, wrapped the silverware for the morning shift, and cleaned and vacuumed every surface. The dining room was practically spotless. She was honestly proud of herself, for how well she did this job. Before Paradise she had absolutely no experience. And here she was now, being relied on so heavily as one of the best servers.

The last of the customers had left about an hour ago, but Luna wasn't particularly in a hurry with how exhausting the shift had been. Every table was full of customers who were eating and pregaming before whatever party they would be attending that night. And there was only her and one other server working that night when there was supposed to be five. Her suspicion that the girls had called in because they had their own New Years plans were only confirmed when the other server pulled up her snapchat stories when the shift was done. And yep, Luna and what was her name... Milly? Sure, Luna and Milly had been abandoned.

The customers, thankfully, had not been too rowdy. Yes her ass had been grabbed once or twice, but she was pretty good at ignoring the situations that stressed her out. And now that the shift is done, her body tired and aching, Luna was so excited to go home and get this uniform off, curl up on the couch, and either watch shows till the early morning or pass out. Who knows where her night might take her.

Hoisting up the last of the dirty dishes in the bin, she dragged her feet to the kitchen and dropped the bin on the counter beside basin sink before running the water. Abel was nowhere to be seen, most likely taking inventory or something in the freezer. She had no clue. But, since she was running the sink, there was no harm in asking if he needed anything washed. So, when the soapy water was boiling hot and to the brim, she shut the water off and moved around the kitchen, checking every corner but not spotting him. So, there was only one other place he would be after such a busy night. The cinder block propping open the back door confirmed that he was in fact where she knew he would be.

After slipping on her coat, she opened the door before carefully closing it back on the cinder block. Since she was out here, she might as well join him for a smoke. Digging in her pocket, she pulled out the little pack and placed once of the horrendous sticks between her lips as moved to lean against the milk crates next to Abel. "Shit." She mumbled, patting her pocket to find her lighter but it was magically gone, "I think your line cook nicked my lighter again." She said and took the cigarette away from her lips to twirl it between her fingers, "light this for me?" She asked, holding it up, a small smile on her lips. Maybe she shouldn't have come out to join him, her legs were becoming more and more jelly-like the longer she wasn't bustling around. "Tough night for you too?" She asked, once it was lit, and inhaled. Relief washed over her, and her shoulders visibly relaxed as she hugged an arm around herself to keep warm.

Billie Benson

If we were being honest? Anastasia was at a lost for words at Billie's confession. She had always knew what to say or at least had the wherewithal to come up with something clever in response. Yet for this moment? She had nothing. She wasn't used to this. Not just being with women - no, the whole thing. Being treated well and potentially being in a healthy relationship. With Derrick there was nothing healthy about it - the only thing they really had in common was being nepo babies.

Billie was everything she wanted though and if Stassi was being honest - that was extremely terrifying. Billie felt like home - Billie felt warm. Billie was the cool spring day at the beach. The first flake of snow, a clean sheet of ice to skate on. Billie was everything good in her life. Her life was a disaster, a hurricane of chaos but Billie kept her in the eye where it was calm and everything surrounding her was chaos.

So Billie confessing her love? That was terrifying, because she had Stassi's feelings in her hands. So Stassi didn't respond immediately. She looked away for a minute, frozen. She had never been with a woman before either so this was all new. Was she ready for this? Was she ready to be public with it too?

She took another long breath looking back to Billie and in her eyes and shaking her head,
"I don't want to do it more..........."
she trailed off before smiling ,
"I want to do it all the time. Every morning, I want to feel the touch of your lips against mine. I want to feel you next to me, I want to hold your hand, I want to make you laugh. I want to hear about your plants and your random musings. I want to help you work through confusing things I...I Billie. Want to spend every moment I can with you in my arms...because I...........I.....I've been in love with you for a long time..."

Teddy Vega

It couldn't be overstated how important Skylar was to Kammi and she loved the sister vibe that they shared. That being said - it was always clear that Skylar had other focal points, while for the most part for Kammi, Skylar was her sun. Still she smiled as she took the key fob and watched her walk away.

She tucked it into her own bra and walked over to the mirror and tucked some hair behind her ear as she looked herself over. She looked at the expensive jewelry, running her manicured nails across the necklace she had received and let a slow sigh escape her lips. This was the life she was meant to have on her own. This was the life of luxury she'd eventually get on her own.

She heard her phone vibrate in her clutch, unzipping it and letting it slide out noticing it was Teddy. They had an exchange before she returned it to the clutch and checked herself over one more time.

"Ok, a couple of drinks to calm my nerves and let's go get a man. Specifically a Vega..."

She took another slow breath as she reached for a perfume she had found on the dresser, one that Kammi was actually wearing, and sprayed it to refresh her scent before moving towards the door as the clicking of her heels led her out of the room.

She had made her way to the party and moved to grabbed a drink. It was a shot of..yeah she wasn't sure. Some random guy handed it to her and she pretty much immediately threw it back with a shake of the head and a groan. Those never got better and she did once more. Nope. Same results. Still, she could already feel the buzz and that was good enough to get her through the party and eventually whenever she found Teddy.

So slowly she sipped her drink looking over the crowd for nothing in particular when a familiar voice finally landed in her ears.

She turned to Teddy, looking him over and biting her lip slowly before taking another sip from her drink.

"Took you long enough to show up, I almost had to give your spot away."

Cool, be confident. You got this Kameron. You are the prize.

She let her smile flash bigger before she held her drink up to his lips,

"You're going to finish this and then we're going to do shots. Then you're going to dance with me. If you're good well I know you're good at dancing, but if you're good otherwise....well you'll see. "

Hayden still didn't quite get the whole quartz crystal thing. Like, he understood what it was, but his mind couldn't really grasp how a rock was able to cleanse and heal. But, he decided he didn't need to understand the specifics of Ari's witchy rituals, he'd just roll with it and hope he didn't look like a fool. "Cool," he nodded in a nonchalant manner.

Ari complementing his looks gave him a needed ego boost. Giving him reassurance about his looks, something he was already pretty confident in, always gave him kind of a big head. He gave her a wink and smirked. "I tend to look extra cute when I'm around other cute people." Flirting was usually just a habit of his, something he did to get lucky and boost his confidence. With Ari it was different though, like he actually meant the things he was saying. Usually he didn't care if his flirtation stuck, if it didn't he could just move on to the next person, but he genuinely wanted Ari to like him.

He watched as Ari chose a good spot in the sand and knelt down to prepare. He knelt down as well, wanting to be helpful. But, seeing as she was only digging a small hole and he didn't really know what she needed to do to set up, he didn't end up doing much. Hayden sat and absentmindedly ran his fingers through the sand as she went on about the process. Again, he was a little confused. He felt like he had a lot of questions about how everything worked, but didn't quite know what to ask. So, he nodded along like he knew exactly what she was talking about. At least the part about fire cleansing things made sense to him.

"Don't be sorry, I like hearing you talk about this stuff," he insisted in response to her apologies for rambling. "It's awesome. I think I could use some cleansing in the New Year." He hoped he at least kind of sounded like he knew what he was talking about. As soon as Ari stood up, he followed suit. For a second he was very distracted by her grabbing his hand, so he scrambled to quickly slip his sandals off to follow her towards water. He was about to make some sarcastic remark about her dragging him out her to drown him, but decided against it. He didn't want to ruin the ritual by being an ass.

He looked back at her as they settled by the water, eagerly awaiting the next steps and hoping it didn't involve her letting go of his hand. Fortunately for him, she didn't. She just closed her eyes and told him to do the same. It took him a couple seconds, his gaze lingering on her as she closed her eyes. She looked ethereal in the moonlight, he could've spent the rest of the night admiring her. But as she further explained he let himself close his eyes. "Ok, I think I got it. I should become like a crystal expert or something. You've taught me so well." His words drifted off as he further considered what they were doing. "Shit, sorry I'll shut up now. Let the mind clear and all that." With that, he turned all his thoughts toward Ari, hoping all this crystal stuff actually worked.

Ezra looked over at Oce, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion for a second as she questioned him. "Huh?" Could she like... read minds? Ah shit, he must have said that out loud. His face returned to normal and he looked away from her, not really wanting to meet her eyes. He'd never talked about his past with her. That didn't have anything to do with Oce really, if he talked about it with anyone it would be her, he just hated talking about it. He truly hated his life then, the thought of it alone was difficult. Talking about it? Even worse.

He seemed a little off put for a second, weighing his options. He briefly considered making a break for it, just heading out the door and skipping town yet again. But after everything that had happened, he didn't want to be an inch further from Oce. So, he settled on a sarcastic quip. "Yeah, he throws weak ass parties by the way. So boring," he rolled his eyes. He wasn't sure if he was comforted by Oce's presence, or if it was just the weed, but he kept talking. "Pretty good booze though. I couldn't legally drink when I was in DC but I stole a bottle once. It was the really nice stuff. Once I got my hands on that I had a pretty good time." He let out a quiet laugh, on that was more nervous than amused. "Well, at least until my dad found me. Then the rest of the night was fucking hell."

He cut off his ramblings there. He hadn't spoken about his dad in years. Didn't really want to either. But, revealing a bit of his past to Oce felt like a relief for some reason. He wanted her to know him, and that meant all of him- terrible past included. Still, he felt he'd made things awkward. Neither of them had opened up much about their pasts. Maybe she didn't want to know all that. He hadn't said much, but since it was the most he'd said about his past in a very long time, it felt like a lot. "Uh, sorry," he said, apologizing for nothing in particular, just in case he'd just scared her off.

Annie

Annies hand was in hers.

Not that Brittany could really tell. The world around her seemed to have blurred as she stared out the window at the accident in front of her. The officers and firefighters on the scene doing their jobs, the sight of the victims of the accident. It was all surreal to her. Too close to home for comfort.

Reluctantly she moved through the motions, slipping out of the ambulance and following Annie to the scene with her bag in tow. She was grateful that Annie took such control, falling into her role as the lead paramedic easily. Her gaze moved to the accident, taking in the scene. In her mind flashes of her past replayed, sinking her heart. She wouldn't scream. This was not Colin.

Instead she nodded at Annies directions and made her way to the man sitting in the street. He looked pretty banged up but nothing serious. Brittany did the initial checkup. He absolutely reeked of alcohol but Brittany kept her comments to herself. It was despicable that people felt as though they could drive while under the influence. they should know better. This man should have known better, especially given his age.

As Bri knelt next to the man, her hand on his back, she beckoned the officers over. She stood and spoke with them briefly, letting them know that he would be safe to ride with them but that they should meet them at the hospital just to be on the safe side. Her attention turned to her radio as Annies voice came through. She looked over to the main accident, her heart once again dropping. She had to drive.

"I'll be right there." Brittany replied, nodding toward the officers before making her way over to the ambulance. She opened up the back and grabbed the gurney, her attention turned slightly while she pulled out out of the back, letting the wheels collapse down so she could wheel it down to where Annie stood with the patient. "Do you want help getting him secured?"

She did her best not to look at the accident or the car, keeping her gaze fixed on Annie, keeping herself from breaking down right there and then. Every muscle in her body wanted to run. Every inch of her skin was on fire. The urge to escape was so intense that it clouded every other thought. She felt useless, out of control, and weak.

And the worst part? There was nothing she could do about it.

This was torture.

Had Alex known ahead of time that this was what Francisco had in mind when they were invited to the party he never would have agreed to go along. It was bad enough that he had to watch the woman of her dreams fawn over a man who, at least in Alex's opinion, wasn't worthy of a second of her time. Francisco was the bane of his existence, the thing that drove the only person he cared about more than himself away from him.

To make matters worse he could see the ever growing bump of her stomach through the tight fabric of her dress. The sight of it made him queasy, downing his drink as Avi and Lilith stood beside him, chatting about how beautiful the whole thing was. Well, Lilith did most of the talking, Avi just stood there with his arms crossed. At least Alex wasn't alone in his distaste for Francisco.

Though that wasn't entirely true, Avi approved of Francisco wholly. It was the growing child within her that he was sour about and even then Alex knew that it wasn't Francisco who he blamed for the thing. He was just upset about her decision to keep it.
Alex casted his eyes toward the bar, ignoring the distasteful show of public affection that happened in front of him.

"Est-ce que tu vas bien, Alex ?" Avi asked, placing his hand on Alex's shoulder. All Alex could do was nod and swirl the last bit of his drink in the bottom of his glass.

"Bien. Merci." He choked out, looking up as Kiera approached them with far too much energy. He let out a soft groan, turning ever slightly to face away as the girl hugged their shared parental figures.

"Ahh. Kiera! So glad that you could make it." Avi grinned, stepping back as the girl hugged his wife who just smiled enthusiastically.

With a slight sneer, Alex rolled his eyes and finished off his drink. "I'm having a great time, thanks." He hissed through his teeth, "Such heartfelt words. A shame they came from su-" Alex cut himself off, knowing better than to say anything cruel or nasty on a night like tonight.

Tonight wasn't about him. It was about Scarlett.

"I'm surprised you are able to walk. Typically I'd expect to see you being dragged off by now, no?" Alex raised an eyebrow, looking the girl up and down, "Or are you on your very best behavior for her sake as well?"

It was barely a fight.

Not even close to one yet. Though Clementine knew that if she continued to push it would turn into one. His exhaustion with her would grow until he finally snapped or she would slam a door and they would argue about that instead of arguing about the true matter at hand.

It wasn't fair. Clementine felt sometimes as though she was the only one putting any effort into the relationship now. Since getting engaged it felt almost as though they stopped, their relationship at a standstill, no further progress yet no regressing backwards either. Of course any time that she tried to get him to look at her or to pay any attention to her at all she had to start a fight. Otherwise it was just an endless cycle of them working, eating together on occasion, then sleeping. Even then then they barely slept together anymore due to their hectic schedules.

Some days Clementine wondered if the love had gone. Sometimes she wondered if it was even there to begin with.

"Fine." She hissed, "Ignore me like you always do. Questo è quello che sai fare meglio, comunque." Clem shifted in her seat, looking out the window again. She folded her arms across her chest and crossed her legs, not caring if her dress slipped further up her thigh as she pouted. Not that Al would care. Getting him to touch her was like pulling teeth sometimes, especially on nights like this one. Where he was 'too tired' as if she didn't work the same long hours as he did and would eagerly pounce at the opportunity.

Perhaps the love wasn't gone. It was just gone on his end.
She pulled her phone out of her purse and scrolled through her contacts, finding her fathers and pressing the call button. She brought the phone to her ear and let out a sigh as it rang, her eyes flickering to Al whose gaze was fixed on the road ahead of them. She heard the phone click and the gruff voice of her father came upon the other end.

"Clementine? È tardi." Her father croaked. She heard the light click on and she leaned back in her seat. Somehow her father managed to calm her down without even trying.

"Scusa papà. Volevo solo augurarti un felice anno nuovo. Io e Al stiamo tornando a casa dalla festa e volevi che ti chiamassi."

"SÌ. Grazie. Ti sei divertito?"

"SÌ. Era veramente bello." Clementine sighed, glancing over at Alan once again, "Ti lascerò tornare a dormire. Ti amo papà. Io e Al ti mandiamo il nostro affetto."

She blew a few kisses for her father then hung up the phone, stuffing it into her purse once again and looking out the window. "Papà sends his love and wishes you a good new year." There was a flatness to her tone now, a dry bitterness that came when she felt defeated.

Translation:
"That's what you do best, anyway."

"Clementine? It's late."
"Sorry daddy. I just wanted to wish you a happy new year. Al and I are coming home from the party and you wanted me to call you."
"Yes. Thank you. Did you have fun?"
"Yes. It was really beautiful... I'll let you sleep. I love you daddy. Al and I send you our love."

Stella

Stella frustrated him.

Some days every word that left her mouth was like another notch on the pole of frustration, another reason why he should just walk away and never look back. But how would it look then? If he gave into that one fleeting thought that always remained in the back of his mind. 'They are better off without me.'

He knew it wasn't true. The sheer amount of times he had had to pull them out of sticky situations had proven that time and time again. On the flip side, though, he knew that now they would be taken care of. Well... Scarlett would be. Stella was a completely other ballgame. The only reason he was able to protect her as often as he did was because he had broken down at least one of her walls, a wall that he sure as hell knew that no other man had done. The rare occasions that she became vulnerable to him had proven that as well.

"I know you well enough to know that my work woes are no true interest to you." Salem commented, taking the wine glass from the woman. He took a sip before placing the glass onto the counter cautiously, carefully making sure he didn't spill a drop. "Saviour Salem, huh? this couldn't be because I am constantly saving you from situations that you manage to put yourself in because you are, well..." He gestured toward her, leaning against the counter and crossing his ankles, "You."

As she spoke his jaw clenched slightly, he let out a frustrated breath, trying not to let his anger show, trying not to let the jealousy seep out of his pours as the mental image of Stella even touching the filth that called himself Cooper.

"I am far too aware of your needs." He hissed, looking down at her as her finger hooked around one of his chains, he leaned toward her slightly, "I'm also aware that the offer has been made a multitude of times for you to come to me anytime you need satisfaction and yet... for reasons unknown to me, you still choose to be with that... saleté putride." He took her by the wrist, prying her hand off of her then letting it go so he could reach for his wine, "You are a temptress, Stella. I'm not falling for it tonight. Tonight you drink and then you sleep. I will take you home in the morning."

“Come on, man…” Rob protested as he was hustled out the door of the Kennedy mansion, struggling against an iron grip on his arm.

“This is bullshit!” He shouted as the plain-clothed officer hauled him unceremoniously down the long driveway, giving him a hard shove into the street for good measure. Rob drunkenly stumbled forward a bit, but quickly turned back around to stare down his adversary. “Fuck you, pig!”

The cop let out a mirthless chuckle at the insult. But before Rob's alcohol-soaked brain could even register it, he found himself doubled over in pain as the other man’s fist collided with his face.

“AAH FUUCK!” Blood instantly began to gush from his nose. “You motherfuc–” Rob muttered, somewhat muffled under his flannel sleeve in a futile attempt to mop up some of the blood, though he had enough sense to trail off before finishing the sentiment. In turn, the cop seemed satisfied by his sucker punch, and how it shut the belligerent drunk right up.

Without a word, the officer headed for the house to get back to security duty for Skylar's party. Leaving Rob alone on the street, wobbling a bit where he stood. Angrily, he chugged the remainder of the beer in his hand before tossing the empty bottle into the street, watching it shatter.

Luckily, he was so pickled by alcohol, Rob was fairly numb to the residual throbbing pain of being socked in the face mere moments ago. Not to mention the previous blows he'd already taken after picking a fight with some rando at the party. He'd be feeling it tomorrow though. Once he sobered up, he'd be feeling a lot of things.

For one, Arielle was sure to hear about his antics, getting thrown out of the party for acting a drunk fool. If she was at all even considering taking him back, all hope of that probably just flew right out the window. If only he hadn't killed so many brain cells tonight, he might be able to come up with the perfect sweet gesture to show Ari how much he she meant to him. A last ditch effort to win her back before he finally ran out of chances with his ex.

Rob pondered what to do as he staggered down the street, but his brain was so fuzzy, and all he could think about was finding more booze. He seriously just needed to get blackout drunk at this point to keep from picturing Ari in Hayden's bed right now.

He was stumbling around this random neighborhood for a while before Rob finally realized he was no closer to any convenience store or bar, or anywhere he might find alcohol. What he did find was the curious sight of a vacant house with its front door wide open. From the quiet street, Rob could hear footsteps creaking around inside the abandoned home as he crept closer to peek inside.

He really didn't know what made him decide to wander in there. Perhaps the promise of running into a couple crackheads numbing themselves with some illicit substance they might want to share? Or maybe it was just a group of teenagers that broke into this empty house for a place to drink.

His heavy boots thudded gently on the filthy hardwood floor as the young man stepped cautiously into the house. “Hello?” He called out, swiping at his bloody nose with the back of a hand while squinting into the darkness.

Julian, Alexei, Astrid

Well this would be easy.

The man seemed interested enough, speaking in French and offering her a drink. He was dressed nicely as well, meaning he would likely pay top dollar for her services. A good thing. So far the night had been mostly a bust. Occasions like this one typically had people spending their time with their lover or with someone they wished was their lover. Not many were willing to stray so this was the perfect opportunity to make up for the loss.

Danielle flashed him a grin, forcing a playful laugh and shaking her head, "A drink would be nice, darling. Unfortunately the snow will have to wait, though I could be convinced if you are certain you want to share." She was turning on the best of her charm now, stepping closer to the man, trying to keep his attention on her and her alone.

She opened her mouth to speak, to offer him something more, to suggest a 'tour' of the house that would lead them to a bedroom that she knew that the hostess had left unlocked for situations like her own. Not a single word left her mouth, though, cut off by a touch she knew too well and accompanied by a voice that filled her mind more times than she would ever wish to admit. Alexei.

There was nothing she could do to contain the hiss that left her lips, her gaze moving from the man in front of her to the man restraining her, holding her as if he owned her. Once again she opened her mouth to speak but was promptly cut off by another. This time a woman's voice. Danielle watched with a bitterness in her heart as another woman flounced toward the man in front of her, greeting him with a kiss on the cheek.

Danielle adverted her eyes and pulled from Alexei's embrace, giving him a look that could kill before smiling sweetly at the couple.

"Please excuse me, I'm going to fetch another drink. Enjoy the party."
With that she turned on her heel, giving Alexei another glare as she briskly walked toward the bar, her hair fluttering ever slightly behind her as she went. Danielle leaned against the bartop, catching the bartenders attention. She ordered herself a drink, deciding now was the time to start drinking as heavily as she could. With Alexei in the mix she surely wasn't going to get any clients now. Now it was time to take advantage of the free drinks.

Abandoned building

Rob

It was wamrer than she expected it to be.

The building had obviously been abandoned for a while, left to its own devices for at least a few years. There was graffiti on the walls and an obvious camp where some squatters had once been. It was likely that the building had been used for some young teenagers throwing parties at one point but now it stood vacant.

Lavender wandered around the building, pointing her flashlight at the different walls, observing any damage to the pillars and moving as quietly as she could despite the floorboards creaking underneath her. She hadn't explored too far when she heard the sound of heavy boots clunking behind her.

Her first instinct was to run. To hop out the window she had seen in the kitchen and take off as fast as she could. It wouldn't have been the first time she had to slip out of a place like this in a haste and likely wouldn't be the last time, however as she ducked behind a wall, her flashlight pulsing as the batteries wore out, she didn't feel like the would have such an opportunity.

A voice called out into the darkness as her flashlight burnt out. She smacked it a few times, trying to get her light back but realizing quickly that it was dead. Her gaze moved toward the man, watching him as he wiped at his face with his sleeve. She dropped down, squatting on the ground. "Shit." She hissed to herself, stuffing her flashlight into her pocket. She reached into her boot and pulled out the small switchblade she kept on her in case of emergencies then stood.

"Don't come any closer!" She called out, stepping out from where she had been standing, knife in hand. She flipped it open and stared up at him, swallowing hard, "Keep away from me." Her icy blue eyes flitted over him, taking him in. He was bigger than her, likely stronger. She would have little to no chance should he decide to attack her. Surely that would be the only reason someone would go into a random abandoned building in the middle of the night. He likely saw her enter and decided she was easy prey.

However after taking him in for a moment she could already tell that this man was likely not a threat. He already had blood smeared on his nose and he seemed to wobble a little, likely drunk off his ass and coming back from one of those ridiculous parties in town. She didn't care to find out about them. All she knew is that plenty of people would be at them meaning it was the perfect time for her to break into the condemned and abandoned homes in the area to check them out.

BILLIE BENSON
The hammering in Billie's chest was getting out of control. The anxiety of her friend not talking after the confession was driving her insane. Had she made a mistake with this? Did she just completely ruin everything with Stassi? That thought broke Billie, because Stassi truly was the only person in town who thought of Billie more than just some blond bimbo with boobs for brains.

So, she waited, and waited, shifting uncomfortably on the couch. Should she go? Did Stassi want her to leave now? She'd had far too much wine to drive, so she would need to wait for an Uber. And she was just about to pull out her phone to order one when Stassi finally spoke. Billie instantly put her phone down to give her friend her undivided attention. And with every word that Stassi spoke, Billie clung to them more and more, her worries and anxiety slowly fading away while tears pricked her lash line. She wasn't crying because she was sad, or even overjoyoused. No, she was crying because for a brief moment there she was scared that she had lost Stas and now she knew for sure that she hadn't.

It was always hard for Billie to open up to people, especially because half the time when she expressed how she was feeling, no one ever really took it seriously. But here she was, her heart laid out to Stassi, with Stas doing the same. They both now knew how they felt about each other and in a moment of pure desire and happiness, Billie leaned in again, pressing her lips to Stas' as if confirming that this moment was real and not a dream. Because Billie would be lying if she said she didn't dream about something like this happening.

"I would... I would like for you to be my girlfriend. But if you just wanna see how this goes for a while, I'm okay with that too. I just really like being around you. Like, all the time." she said with a blush tinting her cheeks. And with that, she pressed her lips to Stassi's yet again. Unable to get enough of enjoying the moment with her.

OCEANNA WOLFF
Oceanna wasn't sure how to feel about Ezra opening up to her. He'd never talked about his past, his parents, nothing. It almost surprised her to know he had actually hung around the president, and stole drinks from him. Honestly it all seemed so out of pocket it would sound fake if she wasn't a trusting person. But she was, at least with him. So she listened and held on to his every word. To say she was enjoying this would be an understatement. It was like getting to know a whole different side of him. And every single word he spoke grabbed her attention and held it... But that also might have been because of the weed.

"It seems like you had fun, at least for a little while." She told him. "You don't have to apologize though. For telling me things." She told him, and to reassure there was no judgement coming from her, she looped her arms through his and rested her head on his shoulder, "I'm no stranger to shitty parents." She stated simply. "Maybe I'm not far off from them, because of my own habits, but my parents were too high 90% to remember I existed." She told him quietly. Not to try and overshadow him opening up, but to relate. To show she knew what it felt like to be forgotten and left behind by the people who are supposed to lift you up and encourage you.

"I don't regret what we did." Her tone was quiet, and she couldn't look at him for fear he would have a look of disgust or maybe even hatred. For ruining their friendship with a high and drunk frenzy. She felt bad, and she was scared she'd lose him. But the weed in her system also seemed to be bringing an onslaught of anxiety, that not even smoking more would help with.

"I'm getting tired..." She told him and finally looked at his face, searching for at least any amount of emotion apart from his usual bored expression. She wanted to know that he didn't regret it either. That he wouldn't take off and leave her because of what they had done or what she had possibly ruined. She didn't want to get hurt by all this, or she'd shut down like she usually would.

Mick Halstead

There was a sand storm coming, nothing that his team wasn't used to. He didn't smoke, but often he stood with the rest of the squad as they lit their own. Camaraderie was important during times like this for his team, it helped keep morale and continued trust. Their eyes glanced to each other as one took a small drag.

It's a suicide mission..

That was the consensus thought that seemed to echo through each of the Marines. There was no laughter, no jokes that usually happened in their pre-mission smoke. There was no bravado, cockiness like usual it was more so a somber, ominous outlook.

"We're coming home. All of us. So book those trips, make those reservations...."

This is what he had fought to get home for. The warmth of her body, the smell of her scent. She guided him back when he moved away and then their lips connected and he felt that warmth he had fought to get home to that day. He wasn't sure he himself would ever find that warmth - but here it was.

Unfortunately, it was interrupted by a call on his work phone and though the kiss was broken off he made sure to keep his arms around her as he spoke.

It was nothing good - as it never was when he got a call on his work phone at this hour. There was a hit on another stabbing for a case he was working on and that meant he needed to get there as soon as possible. He didn't want to leave, but he had no choice about it. Especially if he wanted to make sure the people he cared about were safe.

"Copy, put me on as on duty and alert everyone on scene planes clothes officers will be arriving."

He hung up the phone and shot a text to Paddy to let him know what was happening. He held Clover close to him before he leaned back down and kissed her again, "I have to go...I'll drop you off where ever you need to go, but it's work. We can pick it back up soon, yeah?"

She didn't say no and part of him was surprised that she agreed to it. Even in this conversation she had been distant from a personal level as if keeping him arms length as the cop she worked with sometimes, but he felt a connection between the two and had hoped she felt it too.

Padric spent most of his life in his father's shadow. Couldn't even be bothered to name him Patrick Jr, had to make him Padric. An Irish California state rep who relegated his cop son to just that. A cop. As if a job as a police officer was beaneath him.

You will never find anyone who will want to marry a cop

His father had claimed several times. It was too dangerous, too unstable. No one would ever want to love someone who chose to take a job like that when he had many other options.

He had sad it so much that it essentially sunk into Padric's self conscious, but here Isabella was, agreeing to a date with him. Maybe that spoke more about how Isabella was so buried into her job than it did about Paddy's ability to find love, but here we were. Even if it didn't go any where pass this first date - Padric could at least claim this as a triumph. That his lousy father Patrick was wrong.

There is a cafe not too far from the office if you would like to meet me there? That have many wonderful selections.

"Ok that sounds good. I can't wait.." he was about to continue speaking when he felt his work phone vibrate and clutched his teeth. That was never good at this time of night and as he pulled his phone out of his pocket and read the message, he realized he was right.

"I have to go, got hit on our case, but I'll keep you updated and I will text you about the cafe?" and before she could fully answer he was starting to head out.

The moon had always gotten Ari through the lowest times of her life. It was a full moon the night her mother died. It was a full moon those nights she felt like she couldn't stay on this earth anymore. Her favorite anime character was Sailor Moon. She had been led by the moon in all parts of her life and as she stood next to Hayden, hands interlocked, she could feel the moon's energy charging her up.

She could only chuckle when he spoke about being a crystal expert or about shutting up, but she didn't respond immediately. She just stood there - breathing in slow and letting her mind and body become less tense.

After a few moments of nothing but the sounds of the ocean and the fire crackling behind them she let out a long exhale.

"I know you may not understand any of this, but it's important to me. All of this has gotten me through some dark times in my life and whether it's real or not...it helps. So I really appreciate you being here."

She went silent again for a while as she opened her eyes and looked up to the moon. Rob never gave her the time of day when it came to her crystals and often would even go out of his way in his drunken stupor to berate her about it. So even if he was just playing along because he wanted to get in her pants, it was refreshing. It was nice someone was willing to sacrifice themselves for her benefit. The only person she had in her life that did that was her father.

She let go of his hand and knelt down digging a hole on the edge of where the tide came to before moving to where the fire had died out. She grabbed a piece of cloth pick up the crystals and dropped them in the new hole while the water filled the hole. The moon's reflection bounced off the water as she stood up.

She looked at her new little pool and then to Hayden,
"Thank you...for this."

Let us be young, let us be wild
until the summer's over
"OHMIGOSH, I'm so sorry!” Jenelle gasped as she suddenly collided with a slight yet sturdy frame. A pair of quick hands moved to steady her, to keep the redhead from tumbling right out of her heels. Good thing, for when she took a peek up at his face, his heavy-lidded bedroom eyes made her knees so weak she nearly lost her footing a second time.

“No, no! No, there's no fire,” Jenny giggled nervously, face instantly reddening at the boy's gentle teasing over her manic sprint through the party. “I was just…sorry ‘bout that,” She repeated after trailing off, deciding there was no way she could neatly explain the thought process that directly led her to crash into him. Finally realizing her hands were still resting comfortably on his shoulders, she pulled them away reluctantly, even though it was the last thing she felt like doing.

“Oh, Wynn! I remember. Jenny,” The girl chirped, resting a palm on her chest as she introduced herself. Suddenly hit with instant recognition when the dark-haired boy spoke his name. Yet Wynn seemed so much more mature and confident than the quiet loner she remembered from high school.

Not that she really knew much about him back then. Jenny was always so wrapped up in her schoolwork, extracurriculars, and far too busy mooning over the popular boys. Wynn was the opposite, a target for the “cool” kids to bully. It didn't really register on her radar back then, but now, Jenelle felt terrible for simply standing by while he was tormented by people she called friends. Luckily, he didn't seem to know her from a hole in the wall, much to her relief.

“Wanna get a drink or something?” Jenny asked, flashing a coy smile as she tucked a cascade of loose copper curls behind her ear. "So what have you been doing since graduating?" She asked cheerfully while they walked together, though she was quietly dying of embarrassment on the inside. Her little freakout moments earlier proved to be ridiculously unwarranted when Julian paid her no mind at all as the pair slipped by him.

They came across someone lining up tequila shots, and the extremely drunk fellow beckoned the two over as they passed. “Thank you!” Jenny blushed as the guy pushed one of the shot glasses at her, demonstrating the proper way to take a tequila shot, complete with the licking of sLt and a lemon slice chaser. Jenelle licked her hand as instructed, and shook some salt onto it with a degree of uncertainty, peeking over at Wynn to see if seemed any more confident in his tequila shot prep skills.

Jenny tossed back the tiny glass of alcohol, grimacing immediately as she struggled to get it down. She squeaked, flapping her hands fruitlessly, but managed to choke down what seemed like straight poison. So taken aback by the awful taste, she couldn't even feel self conscious about the weird faces she was surely making in front of this cute guy.

“UGH, ew!” Jenelle squealed with a laugh, scrambling for relief in a lemon slice. "Your turn!"

As soon as Alex spoke, Kiera narrowed her eyes into a suspicious glare. A smirk lingered on her face, knowing that he was upset and couldn't even say anything about it. She was kind of surprised he was able to hold his tongue and not spit out whatever insult he had started on. She raised an eyebrow as if daring him to continue his thought, but he was able to keep it together. A surprising thing for the unstable overgrown child to be able to do.

She rolled her eyes when he took a jab at her usual habits. He was right of course, any other night she'd have put good money on being too drunk to function right now. "Just being a good friend, don't need the night to be about me getting drunk and making terrible decisions," Kiera tossed him an empty smile, filled with more contempt than positivity. At least they were on the same page about tonight being about Scarlett, who deserved a picture perfect engagement.

Kiera could've just left it there, but she wasn't about to leave him mildly annoyed by her comments. Not wanting to say anything too horrendous, partially due to the Fausts standing by them, partially due to them establishing they were on their best behavior tonight, she decided to be civil. Civilly a pain in his ass. She opted for letting herself ramble on about the couple for far too long. Kiera really didn't think through her words, just let a tipsy train of thoughts fall out, hoping something would get under his skin. "Such a beautiful night, bet the wedding will be even better. And a with kid on the way too, it's so touching. You know, I think Scar is happier than I've ever seen her. I'm so glad she's done wasting her time on dickhead nobodies that don't deserve her. God, some of the men she went out with really were losers- well, you know the type. And Cisco is perfect to her, they really are in love."

;; Ezra
Ezra swore he felt like he was floating as Oce looped her arms through his and brought her head to his shoulder. He'd never felt this safe in his life. He wasn't being judged, or criticized, he was just sharing his life with his... friend? Well, he wasn't sure what they were now, but he knew he didn't want her to leave him. Ezra listened silently as she said something about her own life. A glimmer of a smile danced on his lips, nothing she said was pleasing, but he was happy that they both felt comfortable enough to share about their lives, that she didn't just shut him out after he'd opened up about his.

He brought his hand up to briefly run his fingers through her hair in a gentle manner, hearing about her parents made him want to keep her safe. All he wanted was for her to feel relaxed and comfortable in his arms. "You didn't deserve that. Neither of us did," he muttered softly, moving his arm down a bit to rest around her body, trying to keep her close.

When she spoke up again, this time reflecting on the night's actions, he fell silent for a moment. He didn't pull away, he didn't tense up, he just sat there looking at her. He felt nerves set in as she refused to meet his eyes. Sure, she'd just said she didn't regret it, but it wasn't exactly an enthusiastic response. Maybe she just wanted to stay friends? Maybe she was saying this night wasn't something to be ashamed of, but they shouldn't go any further than this. Ezra loved his friendship with Oce, but after a taste of something more he didn't feel great about simply remaining friends.

"Me neither," he said in a rather neutral tone, his mind focused on trying to interpret how she was feeling. "Let's get ourselves to bed then," He pulled his stare away from her and stared ahead, not wanting her to gaze into his eyes. He wasn't even sure of what she'd see. A bizarre combination of hurt and love that could be misconstrued for any number of emotions. He'd liked what they'd done, he truly felt something for her, but his heart ached at the possibility that she wouldn't feel the same.

"I-" he stopped short, not allowing himself to continue. After all the weed and beer, he was about to say something too far outside of their box of friendship. The thought of the three dreaded words he wanted to say lingered as he shifted, sitting up, the new position forcing Oce to shift away from him as well. "I'm gonna go to the bathroom, then I'll probably just go to sleep. See you in the morning, yeah?" With that, Ezra stood and made a beeline for the bathroom. Thinking back on the words he'd blurted out, saying that he would see her in the morning sounded like a dismissal. He regretted that, he really did. Briefly, he considered turning and asking her to stay with him, or if he could join her in bed and not sleep on the couch alone like all the nights before. But, it felt too late for that. No, he didn't look back, he just walked into the bathroom, closed the door, and took some deep breaths, unsure of how Oce would look at him in the morning.

The quiet sounds of the ocean and fire were at least calming, even if Hayden didn't quite grasp the crystals at least he could appreciate the relaxation. He opened his eyes upon hearing her speak and smiled a little, taking in the sight of her while she was at peace with her eyes closed. The second she began to open her eyes he looked down at the sand, not wanting to be caught staring. He brought his eyes back up to meet hers, as if he hadn't been staring mere seconds ago, offering a small smile before she looked up at the moon.

"I'm going to be real with you, I don't really get it. I know, I was doing so well it's hard to believe, right?" He asked sarcastically. He knew that she'd see right through his self-assured nonsense. After the quip, his tone shifted to a more genuine kindness. "But uh, I thought it was really cool anyways. I like that it makes you happy. And I loved the part with the fire." Hayden sloppily tried to cover up the sappy stuff about making Ari happy with some bullshit about liking fire, but he doubted it changed much. He just seemed to let things like that slip out around her. He watched carefully as she moved her crystals, interested in what she was doing with them, wanting to understand her world.

He may be an idiot, but he wasn't completely stupid. Hayden realized he had feelings for this girl, feelings that ran deeper than they usually did. It was weird, usually he just flirted for some attention, or to get into people's pants then leave. But, at the moment he wasn't even thinking about getting into Ari's pants, just spending time with her felt like enough for him. "Thank you, actually. I think you're a really great person, Ari. “Oooh, a photographer?” Nico perked up. “Word. That’s awesome,” He nodded his approval when Calla revealed her profession. “You gonna take my picture?” The vagrant asked, jokingly batting his eyelashes as he struck an exaggerated model pose.

He grinned watching Calla's expression shift to a nervous frown at the collection of substances he'd pulled out of his pockets, and her swift admission she'd never done any kind of drugs before.

He couldn't help but find her adorable as she nibbled her lower lip thoughtfully, but Nico quickly waved a hand to assuage her nerves. “Don't worry, they're totally safe. I always test ‘em myself,” He assured her, holding up the small baggie of pink MDMA tablets.

“Normally, I'd say maybe start out with some weed but…fuck it, it's New Year's! Right?” He asked, glancing up with a wink as he fiddled with the baggie. Dropping two tablets into his hand, he popped one of them into his mouth, then downed his last swig of beer.

“Hmm?" Nico held out his hand, the remaining ecstasy tab sitting in his outstretched palm. “Please eat me, Calla,” He chirped in a high-pitched voice. Moving his hand slightly as if the pill was speaking, begging her to gulp it down.
