Some people are born with a talent, an ability, a power only a few people understand. Governments pay a lot for researchers to work with these people to see how they can maximized the usages of these talents in let’s say war. Whenever a Natural is discovered researchers will find their way how to get the parents to let go of the child. Most of our characters have lived from early age, if not all their life, at the research facility. There they are treated as nothing more than mere test subjects by the researchers. They are even forced to ‘breed’ with each other to see what the different talents together would do. If they even give their talents to their children. Something that is very particular is that, besides the researchers, there are hardly any persons above the age of 25. The reason for this is simple, between 25 and 30 people lose their talent for some reason the researchers still have to figure out. Once a person has lost their talent, he is no valuable asset to the research anymore and they are being exposed off.
Now this has been going on for years, of course in secrecy for society. Our characters don’t know any better than the life at the facility, but they know it is wrong. They know life should be more then listening to others, being pushed around from cell to cell, being forced to ‘mate’ with each other. Each may have their own reason, but the outcome it the same. They decide to run and take their chances in surviving out in the real world. Not knowing that the facility is located in the midst of the wilderness... And even more unaware of the fact that the researchers expected an escape...
It is quite normal even. Every generation there is a group of subjects that tries their luck in escaping and the researchers even think this is the ultimate test. This way they can see how the subjects use their powers in their own way. How they communicate and work together in order to get away. Everywhere in the think forest that surrounds the facility there are cameras so the researchers can follow every move. If need by they have guard dogs or other... resources... to test their subjects. There is one holy rule to this Ultimate Test, and no that is not keeping the subjects alive. It is that once they are out of the forest, they shall be free and the facility may not ever claim them back...
So will our characters be free at last and forever? Or will they fail trying to get away? Let's find out...
