Real Name: Goroshi Asahi
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Personality: Not the most social, but not entirely asocial either. He tends to operate on his lonesome and can come off as weird, even fearsome considering his bulk and size. He’s aware of this and tries not to seem too intimidating as he doesn’t desire any trouble. When faced with conflict or adversity he tends to keep his head down but on occasions, he shows a surprising amount of subtly and cunning despite his appearance implying that he would utilize brute force.
History: Asahi is the second son of the Goroshi family, a rather influential mercantile family who has an international market, and some would even say criminal connections. These sort of rumors surround Asahi, making it hard for him to make friends growing up. Most who knew his family didn’t want their children associating with him, while Asahi himself grew up to be cautious of others who may try to befriend him just to get close to his family. What didn’t help was his size not only making him bigger than most children, but also not very conventionally attractive, which only served to make Asahi a target for those who would bully him because of his appearance or trying to goad him into a fight to besmirch his family name.

And so Asahi often lived a life between constant conflict and constant recluse. He would rarely if ever go out simply because he didn’t want to attract trouble, but neither did he feel as if he had to stay shut inside of his home either, as he knew he could take care of himself. But it was a lonely life. When Asahi was entering high school he knew that things would only get harder for him, but then his sister introduced him to a new game that she said would help Asahi deal with his troubles. A game called Accel World...
Hobbies: Asahi usually plays video games but he also practices jujitsu. He wanted to be part of the Judo Club however his own nervousness prevented him from applying but he still practices on his own at home. Aside from those two things Asahi also likes riding his bike around the city and countryside and generally just wandering around aimlessly. He likens it to an adventure.

Username: BlanketBuddy
Reputation: Despite his cute avatar BlanketBuddy, or BB, often competes in high level Fighting and MOBA tournaments online and is a keen tactician. He’s best known for his ability to coordinate others in order to take on greater challenges, and his biggest achievement is getting nameless new players to become well-known competitors in various gaming tournaments he is involved in. However he also has an infamous reputation for manipulation, not just mind games but also with people’s emotions. Fans and haters alike are keenly aware of how BB often operates under the table to affect people’s emotional states to throw them off their game which many have considered to be a dirty tactic, though unlike most gossip mongers BB can at least back up his talk with skill.

Alias: Iron Giant
Level: 2
Strengths: High Strength, High Durability, Good Awareness
Weaknesses: Lacks a dedicated range option, Generally low Speed, Lack of Crowd Control
Abilities:
Shadowing - Despite his size, the Iron Giant is capable of keeping up with faster opponents thanks to his Shadowing ability. He essentially copies the speed of an opponent so that he can keep up with them while still benefiting from his Duel Avatar’s sheer strength and durability. Additionally, if the target of his Shadowing ability moves too far away from him he can teleport near them.
Revenge - The Iron Giant’s signature ability to counter and attack and return it with twice the force. He has honed his skill with this ability to the point that with careful timing, he can perfectly counter the attack with no harm to himself, though it's easier for him to simply take the blow and return it if he survives the hit. He can even counter ranged attacks with this technique, literally catching projectiles and returning them as fast as they came.
Equipment: None

[Art TBD - Nydia stands at 5'7", short blonde hair in layers framing her jaw. Her eyes are a clouded blue, skin pale, average build]
Real Name: Nydia Hayes
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Personality: Nydia has been described by her peers as stoic, reserved and calculating. She'd prefer to analyze and deal with a situation rationally versus act on passion. While some may find her cold, she prefers to identify as selectively kind.
History: Nydia was diagnosed at an early age with a degenerative disease in her optical nerves. Her sight has been slowly deteriorating over the course of her life, and now at nineteen it is difficult to see most things that aren't within ten feet of her face. Growing up with a disability led to Nydia building walls around herself, causing the girl to be extremely selective with those she allowed to get close. Isolation seemed to become more of a lifestyle than a choice, and Nydia's desire to distance from others became concerning for nurse. In a last ditch effort to bring a spark of joy and social interaction into her life, Nydia's nurse introduced her to Accel World, where the girl found an interest in first person shooters and technology. From here, she would hope to discover a way to compensate for her weakening eyes through the power of the virtual world.
Hobbies: Nydia is a classically trained pianist and enjoys dabbling in technology/PC building

[Art TBD - Small deep blue cartoonish sparrow with one glowing eye, the other covered by a comically large eyepatch. It keeps a revolver in a holster on its hip]
Username: Sparrow
Reputation: Sparrow joined the FPS scene rather early, competing at a high level with merciless precision. While aloof, she remained humble, popping in for gameplay and zipping out without much interaction with her competitors. This created a shroud of mystery around her, though she never much cared either way.

[Art TBD - Hawke is a smaller sized mech suit with detachable guns on its back which can be pulled and attached to her arms as needed. She is made of a dark onyx metal that is somewhat worn from various encounters.]
Alias: Hawke
Level: 2
Strengths: High Dexterity, High Range, High Accuracy
Weaknesses: Low Defense, Low Melee Accuracy
Abilities:
The Seer's Blessing - Hawke is able to identify and track opponents within a twenty feet. The ability has a 5 minute cooldown and will continue to track those tagged by it until the cooldown resets.
Russian Roulette - There is a 50% chance Hawke will self inflict damage when setting up this shot. Once locked on a target, Russian Roulette does high impact piercing damage to whichever target fate decides, be it the user themselves or the opponent.
Equipment: Two large guns that attach to the combat suit, one a sniper rifle the other revolved based.

Looks cool. Just a few things I wanna mention in relation to the world lore.

Firstly, Accel World itself is mostly limited to people around the age 18 or lower, due to the need to have been born with a Neurolink, which is a fairly new piece of technology (it's only been around for 20 years). Adults who get it even as children won't be able to access Accel's World in what amounts to sever latency issues, not to mention the rather obtuse way one actually gets to play Accel's World.

You see to download Accel World you cannot simply find the website and download it. You essentially have to copy it off someone else, and that person can only ever give someone one copy they have. This is known as the Parent System, where the person who gave a copy of Accel World is the parent. For example Asahi's sister is his Parent for Accel World, as she gave him a copy of her Accel World to download into his Neurolink.

As for the Duel Avatar, all avatars have a name themed around colors, weather Chromatic (Red, Blue, Green, etc) or Metallic (Iron, Argon, Silver, etc). These colors are also indicators of the Duel Avatar's abilities, as well as some aspects of the person's desires.

Red-colored Duel Avatars are generally characterized by strong long-distance combat abilities, and their player's fundamental desire is the strength to reach faraway places. This often manifests itself in strong feelings towards the world around them.

Blue-colored Duel Avatars are characterized by strong close-combat abilities, and their player's fundamental desire is the strength to overcome one's obstacles through one's own might. This often manifests itself in strong feelings towards a single person.

Green-colored Duel Avatars are characterized by high defense, and their player's fundamental desire is the strength to protect those important to you.

Colors between them tend to have a combination of desires and abilities, though in exchange they lack the pure ability of those with more specialized colors.

Purple-colored Duel Avatars are characterized by strong melee and ranged combat abilities, resulting in their position between blue and red on the spectrum; however, they sacrifice any kind of defense to do so.

Yellow-colored Duel Avatars are characterized by strong indirect attacks, such as jamming and illusions. This likely results from their position between red and green on the light color spectrum; by utilizing missile jamming or illusions, for example, they are able to defend others even at a distance.

Black and White are also colors that people can have, though avatars with these colors are incredibly rare, and their abilities are harder to define. Generally speaking though Black avatars tend to be rather agile and offensive focused while white avatars have a bevy of unique supportive skills and endurance. The desires with said characters are also hard to define due to the lack of avatars with those coloration, and what few with Black or White coloration being quirky at best or very reclusive, so no one has been able to define their personalities.

Metal colors are a special case in Accel World, and lie on their own "metal color spectrum". Each metal color is taken from a metal on the periodic table, and the Duel Avatar's characteristics will be that of the metal. They tend to lack weapons, but generally have decent defensive capabilities. They generally excel in unarmed combat. Unlike the "desires" that define red, green, and blue-colored Avatars, a Burst Linker of a metal-color does not desire strength, but rather walls to protect one's heart from harm.

Of course there are plenty of coloration that may fall under certain categories, but don't seem to follow the core idea. For example there may be some avatars called things like Ash Roller who looks green, but their name doesn't indicate that and their abilities aren't obviously defensive in nature, but it may still reflect their personal desire or they simply have an unconventional way of representing their inner desires.

Anyways with that blurb done with, an Onyx color is definitely a Black Avatar. Of course feel free to make any adjustments based off this info dump I just gave you.

The last bit I wanna mention is that ordinarily, Level 1 to Level 3 characters can only choose to duel others via the game's Match Call system. Basically you sign up for a duel and if someone else is signed up for a duel too, they'll match up with you and you'll fight. If you battle someone of equal level, whoever wins gains 10 AP, and whoever is defeated loses 10 AP. If there's only a single level difference such as level 1 vs level 2, the AP gainis reduced to 5, and any further difference the points are reduced to 1. This incentivizes higher level players to fight other players their level, since if they lose they will still lose 10 points, and even lower level players would have no reason since they would barely gain anything for fighting an opponent well beyond their level. Generally speaking when doing a Match Call, it will default to only choosing to match you up against opponents equal to your level, though you can still choose to match up against specific players regardless of levels if they are within your vicinity.

Things get more interesting at level 4, but I'll keep that a secret until we actually get there.
