Dracowolf

A Slightly Disgruntled Raptor
Amonodian Empire had never seen times like this one. The kingdom of high castles, where many came to trade their goods had noticed the sharp decline in traders but they weren’t prepared for what came after. Refugees from a war that had consumed the other Kingdoms all started by the Grotriya Empire. Grotriya was once known to be the kingdom of Diplomats, but now they were taking over the surrounding nations adding more and more ranks to their own. They threatened each place they conquered, follow them willingly or be crushed and forced to serve.

Before long everywhere else had fallen and the armies were on border of Amonodia. Knights, archers, soldiers of all sorts went out to face the army but they are slowly being pushed back, back towards the highest castle.

In these dark times the king of Amonodia asked his advisors what they would do. Some feared that they would be forced to surrender but one, an old grizzled knight who had been left to guard the royal family and give his experienced opinion had another idea. They would send a call out to the new recruits and to the refugees seeking those of able body to go on a quest. A small force could slip into the enemy kingdoms and take down their leaders while their armies were distracted.

It was a risky move but no one had any other ideas. They soon asked what about the Pokemon? They didn’t have any powerful ones to help the group go. The knight answered that they still had eggs. Eggs of both their kingdom and those brought by the refugees. They would give each member of the team an egg, and hope it would be enough.

The plan was settled then and the call went out for the few brave souls willing to travel and try to stop the Grotriya Empire before it ruled over everything.

Amonodia's Last Hope is as the title says a Medieval Pokemon RP. Taking place across several fantasy nations with other races involved. Unlike most Pokemon RPs you may not choose your pokemon or your starting pokemon, instead throughout the RP you will be given eggs that will hatch into a random pokemon. This is due to the fact that most capable fighting pokemon are on the front line and thus all those going on the quest will be new trainers or refugees from other nations.

For the most part choosing where your character is from and their past is up to you though certain roles will be locked, such as you cannot play as the King of the Amonodian Empire, but you may play as their son or daughter. A list of NPCs will be maintained in a future post.

Rules and Other Information

Our Out of Character is a shared Discord Server between this Pokemon group and another that has a lot of crossover in members. Access will be granted in our interest check thread once you've gotten Dracowolf's attention.

When you join you’ll have access to the General chat between both groups for just general talks about pokemon and other things, the art-stuff channel and a spam channel that allows for the sharing of memes and other weird things. It is purely used for OOC things, no IC will take place there. You are free to of course mute these channels.

Dracowolf or one of the Mods will then assign a role based on what RP you’re in, this will give you access to the general OOC channel(s) of whatever RP(s) you’re in.

Rules:
  • Villains will be designed to be threats, major villains will take more than one person to defeat.
  • Don't be a jerk
  • No good mode, no powerplay
  • Logic wins in the end during fights.
  • Logic wins in general, if you walk into the villain’s camp alone and it’s obvious that camp is the villain’s, you’re not walking back out.
  • Characters should be considered adults, while it is medieval and that would typically mean that adult is younger due to shorter life span, it is fantasy. This means that characters should be 18 or over, that being said if one or two are 17 that’s fine.
  • Legendaries are seen as gods, they are extremely powerful.
  • Character Limit is set at 3 but the use of NPCs and temporary characters is allowed. If they overstay their welcome there will be an act of god that stops that.
  • Despite magic existing characters may not use magic. Some NPCs can but it is very vague on how or why.
  • While there are races other than human, those races are limited by what nations existed.

Eggs and Leveling

Throughout the RP rather than catching or befriending pokemon, there will be eggs that the members of the group receive, not always at the same time. You will not know what is inside the egg until it’s close to hatching.

Your First Egg:

The first egg you get will be near the start of the RP.

This egg will have a special rule. For this egg you can choose what types you want to be in the randomizer but there must be at least 5. This means you can choose the typings of a specific nation, and add another typing on top, or you can make a customized list. Maybe you’re okay with anything except Bug Pokemon. This mean you will never get a bug pokemon in your first egg. Maybe you only want Normal, Dragon, Fairy, Fire and Dark pokemon, this means the egg will only hatch into a pokemon that matches those types and contain no types outside them. So, you might get Houndour because dark and fire are both on your list, but you won’t get Carvanha because water isn’t on your list.

The gender, egg move and if it is shiny or not will also be randomized.

All future eggs will be completely randomized from all types and can include Alohan variants

Leveling
This RP will not have traditional level ups. Instead the levels will be gained based on how the group is doing. No one will out level anyone else.

NPCs

This list will constantly update as time goes on.
To add an NPC as part of your character’s backstory simply let Dracowolf know.

Amonodia
Amonodia is ruled by a King and his family. For this RP no one may play as the King or Queen, they will be NPCs but they may play as their children.

King: Bailin Estren
A fair King, the son of Corrad. Bailin had a brother by the name of Dontar who had tried to overthrow is brother several years ago and was banished as a result.

Queen: Enith Feller, though has taken the Estren family name
Known for her interest in the poorer regions of the empire, she would often walk the less traveled streets with her closest friend and guard.

The Grizzled Knight: Feral
Feral is known for training most new recruits who wanted to be knights. He was a hero in his prime, known for repelling what was deemed the Dragon Invasion. He will hand out the eggs to those going on the quest.

Feral has a Fletchfinder that will deliver messages for the group as needed.

Refugees

Most refugees are available to RP as, this does mean leaders who escape from other nations, their children or other roles are open.

Navdi, Shaman of Fire
An orc, Navdi was one of the leaders of the orc nation that escape thanks to a few warriors sent to guard her and her people. She is quick witted and certainly nothing like one would expect an orc to be.

The Loyal Guardian: Céline Céline
A knight of House Lepetit and the bodyguard placed over John Louis to protect him after he was born. She is the woman who escorted him out of the Republic during the coup and has been watching over him all his life.

Grotriya
There is an NPC general in each conquered Nation, as they are introduced they will be added here but those that can be guessed at are here. If you want your character to be related and turning sides, I will only be allowing one or two people to do so.

Dontar Estren - The Banished Son
After trying to overthrow his brother, Dontar was banished and eventually he found new allies. He is not the leader of the attacks, though he is a high ranking general for them. Current Location: Unknown

Feral (NPC)
The old knight had been waiting since well before the sun rose. The time when those willing to answer the request that had been sent throughout the city and refugee camps was nearing. He had dressed in his finest armor and hidden his face behind the helmet, it did well to hide his age though the one thing that seemed out of place was his dark purple cloak that was torn at the edges. His Feltchfinder perched nearby watching what was going on, below it was a gathering of eggs. Smuggled out of some nations, gathered within his own, he had checked them over himself the night before. Each would hatch sooner rather than the eggs kept within the protected nursery.

The meeting room was one in the main castle, those answering either the messengers or posters would be led here soon. Those of able body, sound mind and courageous heart. That is what the King had commanded, Feral thought they should have been more picky. Unfortunately there was no time to be picky, no time to train. It meant that the only one Feral had confidence in was the squire he had knighted the day before, the one Damion had taken such interest in. "Well, old friend," He spoke to the Fletchfinder, "This is our last hope. As unfortunate as that is. This very well may fail but if it comes to that, you'll fight along side me to the bitter end, I know that." A deep breath as he straightened himself. The meeting hall had a few steps at the far end, where Feral stood, in order to give the main speaker a spot to stand where all could see him. The knights had often used this room to announce things, and Feral was no stranger to standing at the front like this. Far away from him was the double set of doors, which opened with a loud creek. There hadn't been time to maintain everything with the war on their doorstep and so many allies lost. Once these halls held great festivals and now, there was hardly anything.

Feral pushed the darker thoughts away as he looked towards the now open doors as a few of the remaining guards escorted the strange mixture of volunteers in. Feral looked each over muttering under his breath, "Right, able body... sound mind... we might have been asking for too much." He straightened, hand on his sword, head high. It was at least a larger group than what he expected, but they had the eggs to handle this.

"Welcome." His voice boomed, demanding attention, "I am Feral and you will refer to me as either Sir or Feral. My family name matters not here. This is my partner, Blazestrike, Blaze for short." He motioned to the Fletchfinder who stared at the group as if searching for the weakest link. "As you all know, or have experienced first hand, the war is on our doorstep and the enemy is pushing deeper and deeper into our lands. Our armies are holding them off but we lose more and more every day while our enemy has no end. Today, is our last shot. A team of knights I trained myself is leading a squad to the front to hold the line. They will hold, they will buy you all the time you are going to need. With this time, it is up to you to sneak past our enemy, and go into their own territory. It is up to you to take out their leaders and restore order, to push them back by crippling their chain of command and liberating those they have taken. You will travel as a team to conquered nations, remove Grotriya's general in each nation, and return that nation to its people. This will cut off the supply lines that Grotriya has worked to establish. Without those lines we'll have a chance to win. It's a long shot, but it's not impossible."

He walked over to the eggs and picked one up, taking the steps down to the main floor, and putting it in the hands of Ulric. "Just as I am doing now, each of you will get an egg. It's one of the few things we can give to help you on your quest. You will take care of your egg, and in turn the creature inside it will take care of you." He grabbed another egg and pushed it into the hands of the next.

"Before I finish handing them out, a little more for you all to know. I have arranged transport to help get you to the border. There's a few farm carts outside, better than walking the entire way. Finally, Blaze here will be assisting you in his own way. He is a direct communication line from me to you and back. I'll keep you updated on the situation here, and in turn if any of you are capable of writing you can return messages, ask for supplies, those sorts of things. If Blaze can carry it, he'll bring you the supplies you need. I'll provide what help I can from here. Now, those of you without an egg, line up. Those of you with eggs, start introducing yourselves around. You will all load onto the carts soon enough. This is your last chance to chicken out or to ask a question." He grabbed the next egg and waited for someone to approach.

Seiko
Seiko was up earlier than usual today. Right at the crack of dawn she set out to the hall she volunteered to go to once the message spread throughout the refugee camp. So she was up bright and early to make the walk towards the hall in the main castle. She walked in with a bunch of the other volunteers, and listened to the mans words. So, his name is Feral and he looks like a warrior. Yes, she was aware of the war happening. Seiko has encountered some soldiers of war that were less than friendly with her. Seiko has had to deal with them before, even when she was minding her business and meeting the wild Pokemon. But this mission she was given, she'll get an egg to hatch a Pokemon and have them help her fight this God forsaken war? What a strange mission this was, much different from the missions she was given back in her home country... Before she was exiled. Seiko then stopped distracting herself with memories, and got into line to get her egg. She wondered what Pokemon she'd get, in a way this was exciting. Backing out wasn't an option, that's not what a warrior did. They stuck through the mission until the end. She walked up to the man who was named Feral and received her egg. Seiko doesn't speak well so she just bowed as a thanks and walked off. He said to introduce herself to other, but she didn't know how to. She didn't know English very well. There were certainly a lot of people that came, but she just went off to the side and leaned against a column to get a better look at her egg that she now cares for.

It was dark purple with beige and magenta spots scattered all over it. Now that she thought about it, she had never seen a Pokemon Egg like this before. Raising a Pokemon... was something she had never done before. Was she able to raise it properly? She was a fighter, not a Pokemon trainer. Well, now that she accepted the egg, she can't back out now. So now instead of introducing herself, she sat on the floor next to some blonde with strange attire and made a makeshift rag bag to hold the egg in. She tied it around her shoulder and gently positioned the egg in the makeshift bag and waited to be called to the carriages that would take them to the border.

Nerys
Her small feet carried her to the main castle, the stench of humans and people filling her nose. There certainly were a lot of people here and she was running late, having gotten lost for a little while as she had never been in this area. Straight out of breath, she huffed as she was one of the last people to walk in the hall. Mumbling to herself as she caught her breath "Finally... I got here." She whined out quietly before listening to the mans speech. Ah, yes, the war. She had scared some soldiers when in the forest, the rumor circulating she was malicious forest spirit out to eat everyone's soul. It always gave her a light chuckle, anything to keep people away from her. Nerys adjusted her bag that was on her shoulders, the potion bottles inside clinking gently against each other. She brought some medicine and food just in case, and she was smart too since they'll be on carriages traveling to the border soon, so she knew she would grow hungry. After waiting in line of what seemed like forever, she walked up to Feral and received her Pokemon egg. "Thank you." Her small and delicate voice said before walking off with it. Examining it closely, she was happy. The green color with dark green spots gave her a hint that it was a Bulbasaur egg. She had seen many in the forests of which she lived in. Smiling softly at the egg, she rubbed her thumb over it. "I'll promise to cherish and take care of you..." Nerys whispered to the egg, before stashing it in her bag. But she won't introduce herself, no way in hell. She can't stand people! She quickly turned on her heel and went to go outside.

She didn't realize her hair was under her foot, so as she went to leave to get some much needed fresh hair, she stepped on her hair and tripped. She landed face first onto the floor, just laying there, embarrassed that she just tripped. On her own hair... In front of a bunch of people. She let the laughter simmer down before sitting up on her knees and untangling her dark green hair from her foot and ankle. What a hassle her mop was.

Jeannie

Jeannie was performing the day before to keep anyone and everyone in good spirits when she had heard of the king's request of those with an able body, sound mind and courageous heart to come to the castle, she had always planned to fight on the front lines of the war but she found more and more people needing smiles rather than fighters, so instead she stayed but this was the push she needed to help her people. “Well, folks, I’m sorry to say but this Jester is done for today.” She said with a bow and a crowd of disappointment “Now, now folks, keep those smiles up and hand any extra happiness to others if you can.” Jeannie said as her crowd dispersed and she walked off towards the very edge of one the camps and she walked into the tent on the very edge of it. There wasn’t much in there just a blanket a sleeping mat, a lamp and a Pokemon egg, which she had stolen before the Grotryian empire fully took over Loca. She wept a little, as she hugged it “Miss you Mum and Dad” She said before she went to sleep, still hugging the egg. She woke up the next day, her face a bit wet from her tears, she wiped her face clean and rushed out of her tent and on her way to the castle. As she made the castle she and a bunch of others were ushered into one of the castles room, she listened to Feral as she hugged the egg tightly, after Feral was finished, Jeannie stepped forward and bowed while holding her egg high up in her left hand. “Hello, everyone, I am Jeannie the Jester from the Loca dynasty, before she was taken our darling princess entrusted me to help the people and to take care of this young egg. I have interpreted this by taking up this mission as well” She said as she saw one of the girls making a bag for the egg she had, Jeannie took off her hat and carefully place the egg in it. She bent down and smiled “Hi, I’m Jeannie” Jeannie said as she held out her hand for a handshake towards the girl

Milena

Milena had been walking for a while now, most pokemon either avoided her or ran away after she hit them with her hammer, she had felt miserable, her family was gone, her sister, mother and father were all gone and buried, their pokemon were released as that’s what tradition was for their family. It was noon by the time she reached Andodale, she had wanted to start working for a smithy but she found a piece of paper asking people to go to the castle tomorrow for an important mission “Excellent. Time for some revenge” She said with a smile and punching her own open fist “Well, time for some practice and then sleep.” She said to herself, as she walked around until past sunset, she walked down an alleyway and slept. She woke up the next morning with a stiff neck, she stood up and stretched for a little bit before picking up her hammer and slinging it over her shoulder and walked towards the castle. When she reached the castle she saw plenty of different people, some already holding eggs. After they were walked in and a knight named Feral talked to them about the mission, she walked up to Feral, who gave her a green and pink egg. As she walked back to talk with the others gather. The jester introduced herself to the whole group “Huh, Jeannie sounds magical.” Milena said to herself before she walked over to the person in heavy armour (Bren), “Wow thats some cool armor, names Milena Smith. I’m a smithy by trade if you ever need my help just give me a shout and I’ll fix that armour up right quick” Milena said with an egg under one arm and hammer slung over the other “I would offer a handshake but I’ve got my hands full at the moment.” Milena chuckled

Retkanko

It was quite a long journey from his homeland in the south, the, as of yet, uncrowned heir to the throne leaving from the northeast border and heading across two empires to get to the human empire and its capital within the northeast. It had been a harrowing issue, just getting out of his own empire without anyone stopping him, be they his family or the Grotriya Empire General that now lived within Hithala, both capital and cultural capital of the Heavenly Empire. Retkanko, also known as Ret to those who had such a privilege to call him by a shortened version of his name, and that was rare indeed, stared up at the castle and then lowered his head to look down at the poster clutched within his hand before crumpling it in his hand and heading into the castle. He spoke briefly to a knight who led him into the room where there were other trainers and got in line for his egg, some already having them, taking note of the various people. It seemed quite a large group of people, much larger than the prince had expected, surely this would end up attracting more attention then was worth it for such a covert mission?

Retkanko shook his head as he waited in line, his ears picking up the sound of someone introducing themselves. If it were capable for Rakash to roll their eyes, he would have done so, but as it was he wasn't sure what there was to be cheerful about or why introductions were needed. How many of this group would even survive what they were being tasked to do? Receiving his egg, he looked at it. A pale blue egg with blue spots on it was now his. Cradling it in his clawed hands, Retkanko moved away from the knight who spoke as he handed out eggs and disappeared towards a corner where his tail and wings were out of the way of any others in the crowd.

Sariel
Unlike for some people here, it hadn't been a long journey for the dwelf who looked out of place among the varying other tall races of the world, having been living in one of the refugee camps near the border for some time since leaving home. Her father had not been able to come with her as he was needed, with the rest of the dwarven race, to make tools for the invading army along with anything else that might be needed and for a time, she had served in such a capacity as well. The dwelf watched as a Rakash grabbed an egg and then stepped up, finding a blue egg with three cream ridges on it placed within her hands and placed it within her bag at her waist where it would be concerned within some clothing. She had heard the words of them being given these Pokemon eggs to care for and that they would, in turn, care for the group as well, however Sariel was uncertain of the task laid upon them. What if they failed or they all died within the first few days. There seemed to be quite a number of people here as she looked around, none that she knew of course. She could see at least two Rakash, such as the one that had gotten his egg before her, and there seemed to be an elf and maybe a dwarf? She wasn't entirely surely but Sariel resolved to stay away from such a creature as she was uncertain how they would treat her. She found somewhere out of the way of the group to observe them and focus on the egg within her hands which she removed upon finding a quiet place to rest until they were dismissed. It sounded like they would be riding farm carriages out of the town. Hopefully they had not been given eggs close to hatching, for surely they would give such a position away.

Meiya Tatsunoko
585328

Meiya was worn from the long journey to find a city controlled by the empire. She needed to find one, and fast because there was a war going on. One that she needed to get back in to show her strength. She did not want to be thought as dead, or as a defect from the military, but from how long it has been since she saw another human, or a city, she felt lost.

She however would soon hear footsteps, alerting her to whatever was approaching her from behind. She quickly turned around, and drew her Sword, early sunlight bouncing off her blade as she got a good look at what was following her.

"Bulba..... Bulbasaur....."
Meiya was not sure what to do. This was a Pokemon. One that seemed injured, with several cuts and bruises on it's body. Meiya would have attacked, but it seemed to have no intention of fighting, but as if it was getting back to it's owner.

"I understand little guy, I can't figure out where I am either." She put her sword away, and picked up the green Pokemon by both her arms, carrying it like a baby. "I can get you home, just point to where you live at." The Bulbasaur nodded, before pointing it's left front claw east.

Meiya would smile, before running towards the direction it pointed to.

It was many minutes later, when Meiya came to the gates of the city. It wasn't one she was familiar with, but the two guards at the entrance noticed her, and quickly notified the guards on the other end. They mentioned something about Meiya being a Refugee, and was arriving with her pet Pokemon, but Meiya quickly explained the truth.

"No, this Bulbasaur was lost, and I was helping in find it's way home. Do any of you know who owns it?"
One guard quickly stepped forward to inspect it, and recognized it. "This Bulbasaur belongs to my son! I never expected it to return from the frontlines unless......" The Guard was quiet, but then thanked Meiya. "I'll take care of it. Since you are here, and that Bulbasaur seemed to trust you, perhaps you could follow me to the meeting? We need help with something."

Meiya would reply,
"I will do so. I honestly need to figure out where I am anyways."

Soon, Meiya would be led into the meeting area, and hear about where she was, which quickly made her think horrible thoughts. 'I'm deep in enemy territory? This can't be right..... I shouldn't be here!'

The Guard who owned the Bulbasaur from earlier would pat Meiya on the back. "Go on. We need all the help we can get."
"But, I don't think I can do this." "Anyone who can bring a lost Pokemon back to their home in a time of war is a hero in my book, and a pure hearted one at that."
Meiya stood there, frozen from his words for a brief moment, before she looked towards Feral and asked,
"Do you believe I could be the right person to be part of this group?"

Varak:

"It is up to you to take out their leaders and restore order, to push them back..." A man was shouting at a crowd that had gathered. All the street vendors stood attentively, trying their best to hear what the man had to say. One of these vendors, an elderly man, took a couple of steps away from his Berry cart in order to hear a little bit more. As he does, a hand rises up the side of the stand. It swiftly grabs a bundle of berries and lowers behind the cart. After a few seconds the hand raises yet again, grabs another bundle and lowers. After a few seconds the hand reappears, this time knocking several berry bunches off the stand, attracting the attention of the old man. "Oh, damn." He hobbles over to pick up the berries that had fallen onto the ground but when he gets to the opposite side of the stand, there are no berries on the ground. He looks both ways, confused, "Must be getting paranoid." He says to himself as Varak stands up from behind the stand and walks towards the crowd.

"...each of you will get an egg. It's one of the few things we can give to help you on your quest." The man said, loud as ever. "Oh, eggs?" Varak thought, stomach rumbling. As the crowd began to form a line and disperse with their eggs Varak noticed the people leaving the line weren't holding normal eggs. These were large eggs, with familiar patterns.

Varak glares at the Pokemon eggs, this is just too good to be true. He stares mouth open as a girl stashes a Pokemon egg into her bag. It's her incredibly long hair that's caught his attention, she must've been growing it her whole life. As Varak turns his head towards the line he notices the girl seems like she's having a hard time with something. Suddenly the girl falls to the ground apparently having gotten tangled up in her own hair. How embarrassing. "Do these people have any idea the power they hold in their hands? They say any able bodied person could have one. But what about able minded?" Varak pops a berry into his mouth and walks over to the crowd as they begin to line up. He slips between two people towards the middle of the line and waits to get to the front.

"So they've just been handing out Pokemon? Is a global war what it takes to finally balance the scales?" Varak thinks to himself. He reaches the front and receives an egg, it appears to be chosen randomly out of a pile of every kind of Pokemon egg you could imagine. "How long have they been stockpiling these?"

Varak glances at the egg before being pushed aside, it's a glossy baby blue that reflects the sunlight. "Well, that was easy... Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought they would be so desperate as to start handing weapons to the general public. Now they want us to fight the battles of the state? Hmph." The eggs glossy sheen produces a slight mirroring effect as Varak pulls his face closer to its surface, he can see himself reflected back at him. A euphoria washes over him, like a lifetime of prayers had been answered. A life of making his own opportunity, of fighting for every meal had never prepared him for this. This time his biggest opportunity felt like it fell out of the sky. This country wants a soldier, they're going to get a revolutionary.

John Louis
One week earlier: John Louis expertly parried the sword of the leader of Grotriya squad that had caught up with Céline and himself. "Zis is ze might of ze Grotriya Empire?" Sidestepping another attempted strike he chuckled as he drove his rapier through the soldier's throat. Clutching their throat the soldier fell to their knees, letting their sword fall to the dirt of the trail. "Hm. Nation of Conquerors indeed." In one swift motion John Louis pulled the rapier from his opponent's throat with a flourish. The Grotriya soldier let out a guttural sound before falling onto their face in a pool of their own blood. Satisfied with his victory John Louis retrieved a silk handkerchief from his coat and proceeded to wipe the gore from his blade. "Céline! I do hope zese pests do not keep you much longer. We have a schedule to keep after all." He turned his attention to the large bronze skinned woman, clad in ornate armor, wielding a large battleaxe, and a tower shield. As she stood opposite to two Grotriya soldiers. Without a word Céline charged into the fray crushing the first soldier beneath her axe. Turning to the final soldier, she motioned to the corpses of the Grotriya squad. "Think very carefully boy! Is zis fight worth you life? Drop the blade and flee. We've no quarrel with you." A few moments passed before the solider eventually threw their sword to the ground and ran in the opposite direction. Céline let out a sigh of relief, before turning to find her charge leaning on his rapier as if it were a cane. "Lovely work darling. Now if you're done playing the kind and merciful knight, perhaps we could be on our way?" John Louis not even bothering to hide his sarcastic tone. "Yes. He'll no doubt be getting help. We'd do well to leave zis place quickly." With that the pair collected their things before continuing their journey.

Present Day: John stood with perfect posture struggling to contain his impatience as the knight approached and handed him the blue and orange egg.
"Well... It is certainly colorful." Taking a step back John Louis watched as the knight moved on to the others in the room. The group in question was the very definition of a motley crew. Humans, elves, Rakash, what looked like a half dwarf, even a goblin. Taking in the group he decided that he'd better introduce himself to the group if he was meant to travel with them. Deciding on the more well dressed Rakash in the corner as he appeared the most likely to hold a position of power, John approached him in diplomatic fashion offering a courteous bow and a greeting in the native language of the Heavenly empire. "Greetings and salutations sir rakash. Might I ask your name?"

Grixa
Grixa sat cross legged in her tent holding her pendant in hand staring intently at it. The sound of children's laughter echoed in her head, accompanied by the smell of stew cooking over the fire. "Mrs Grixa!" Grixa inhaled sharply as she was shaken from her memories by the sound of the two human children who had entered her tent. A warm smile crept across Grixa's tired face. "Hello boys. Here for your mother's medicine?" The older of the two boys nodded his head enthusiastically. "I'll just be a moment." Grixa searched through her belongings before producing a small burlap pouch. "Now boys. Mix this powder into your mother's tea, and make sure she drinks every last drop." Handing the pouch over to the oldest child and bidding them a farewell. Watching the boys leave Grixa spotted an armored human approaching her.

"Oi! Are you the goblin what's been helpin the refugees?" Grixa was taken aback by the human's bluntness. "Yes... That would be me. What do you need miss?" The human looked her over for a moment before answering. "Your presence is requested at the keep. Come wit me." Grixa hesitantly complied with the request and followed the armored woman through the city to the keep. Upon arriving in the keep she was directed to a gathering of people surrounding a knight. The knight in question gave a speech explaining the situation and started handing out the eggs. When he came to Grixa he knelt down to hand her a mauve egg with yellow spots on top. As the knight moved on Grixa cradled the large egg in her arms as if it were a child. Looking down upon the egg she was overcome with a bittersweet feeling. "Don't worry little one. Grixas got ya." Stepping away from the group a bit, Grixa wiped the tears forming in her eyes and sat against a wall trying to compose herself for a moment.

Retkanko
On his brother’s spirit, Retkanko could not figure out the creature within the egg, be it type or even species. These eggs had been handed out so randomly that it was hard to say what would happen if they hatched and if they would be well cared for or discarded. Turning the egg within his clawed hands, he studied it until a voice caught his attention, and the Rakash turned to find a person standing before him that had ears which tapered off to a point instead of round. There was a smell he could not entirely place centered about the stranger before him as he turned fully this time to observe and take in the stranger's appearance. This stranger spoke not the guttural words of the dwarf allies nor the light intricacies that sometimes sounded like poetic philosophy of the elves. Rather it was the harsh consonants, guttural growls and sibilant hissing of his own tongue which was surprising, coming from someone not of his homeland nor of his race. Still this stranger was introducing themself but even so, it was a surprise indeed to have someone speak his own tongue. This stranger also seemed to have an egg upon him...well everyone here did either now or were getting them, and he glanced around the room, folding his wings forward so they rested over torso and hooked the two claws at the top together.

"Retkanko...S...Sei’ka,"
spoke Retkanko at last, for a moment hesitating on his family name. "Forgive me. I've rarely heard any members not of the Raskash speak our language and those that tried were usually children of the Iron Clans. You are obviously not Rakash and have the semi-appearance of the spritely and agile elves...yet you do not exactly, pardon me for I mean no offense, of the forest of the Villuilux Empire." He didn't say it but there was, mixed in with a faint forest scent, the overwhelming scent of seawater and salt on this stranger. Whether this stranger would who he was, given his hesitant admittance of his family named, remained to be seen on how cultured this stranger was but he seemed an amicable sort on first glance.

LeRuse LeRuse

Spess was lucky. She had managed to escape the attack upon her mountain home. And upon stumbling around in the wilderness for a few days whilst miraculously not being caught she had arrive at Amonodia, through a way that wasn't being flanked by the enemy, as a refugee of the war. And here she was now; absolutely dead tired, her work clothes still covered in the dirt and dust of the mines from which she fled, and carrying nothing more than her old, worn out pickaxe that had suffered years of continuous labor. Perhaps she had a courageous heart, perhaps she was of able body and mind, or maybe that was just the exhaustion telling her she had any of that. Honestly she was beginning to second guess her choice in coming here. Sure she had a reason, that reason being her entire mountain family was in trouble and being put through who knows what horrors, but she was just one dwarf. If she knew anything it was that there was strength in numbers and this odd bunch was not exactly the numbers she thought they needed.

It was then that she heard an odd grumble-like cough. She snapped out of her thoughts and saw that the one that introduced himself as Feral, and only Feral, was holding out an orange-y egg with a crescent shape on it. What a bizzare egg, not one she recognized at all. She decided rather than standing there gawking like a torchic she would accept the egg, as Feral's patience was probably being tried by her absentmindedness. "Thank ye, Sir." She said plainly, taking the egg that was passed to her. She realized she had missed about half of what this person had said. Something something, sneak up on the enemies, something, carts will be taking us away, something or other about getting to know each other.

Spess looked around absolutely confused where to even start introducing herself to these random people. Half of them looked pissed off at something and the other half bizarrely upbeat for going to their death, not to mention most of them here a good deal taller than her. From what she could see from her small vantage point was that there were no other dwarves here, though she couldn't be sure. She decided to cradle the orange egg to her chest and stay silently out of any creature's way, keeping her eyes on to the ground.

Ulric
Ulric felt pride swell in his chest, he was a knight now, and he was getting his first mission. Possibly a suicide mission but a mission none the less. He took the egg practically shoved into his hands by Feral before looking around at the others in the room. This was to be the team that was going. They didn't exactly looked trained for this. His armor was second hand but polished, his sword strapped to his side, he was going to make his mentors proud, assuming his other mentor was still alive.

Ulric looked at Feral once the eggs were passed out. There was nothing that gave away much of anything on the man's face. The last hope for everyone stood in this room and looking over them again, Ulric knew what Feral was likely thinking. We're doomed.

Deep breath.

Ulric held onto his egg and started out. "Let's get the carts packed." He didn't know if anyone would listen to him. Why would they? Feral hadn't put anyone in charge, Ulric had just assumed as he had been the one trained by the knights and the one with the title to prove it. That didn't mean much of anything. Feral was unlikely to change that and even if he was his word wouldn't matter past the walls of the city. Still Ulric left the room and went out to the carts that awaited them. Loading up into the first. Each cart was designed to hold five to six people without supplies, so with them they were likely looking at maybe 4 to a cart as they still needed to travel light enough to make it on foot.

Ryder
Ryder stared straight ahead for a while once he approached the knight. His scaled hand grabbed the brim of his hat and pulled it down slightly as he passed some of the others until he was standing before the knight. The knight looked him up and down before handing over the egg. Ryder didn't say a word, he just found a spot near the wall until someone mentioned the carts. His eyes traveled to the much younger knight who had spoken. He glanced about the room before deciding he didn't care who was going to listen or not. It was better than standing around here.

Ryder walked out of the room and down to the paths where the carts awaited, following well behind the knight. He watched the knight load up into one of the first carts, Ryder ignored his quick smile and got onto another further back. Settling down onto a seat, holding his egg. His hand ran over it gently. This was his now.

Thrugzug
Thrugzug had been told by other orcs that he should go to the castle. He had asked why and they had tried to explain to him, but he did not understand. An elder had eventually told him to just go. The massive orc put his equally massive axe on his back and walked. People moved out of his way when they saw him coming, he just gave them a quick grin. One he was the castle guards started to direct him, though they seemed afraid of him. Thrugzug didn't want them to be afraid so he started to introduce himself to all of them. "THRUGZUG IS FRIEND!" His voice bellowed at one, no volume control at all. He grinned and the guard just looked uncertain before opening the door to the room for him. Thrugzug waved and went into the room, looking around at all of those gathered there. So many new friends to make.

Soon the man at the front was speaking. Some sort of adventure, Thrugzug could do adventure, many friends to make on adventures! Plus puny people like these gonna need someone strong like Thrugzug! He soon saw others lining up and got in line himself. He knew to line up and wait his turn. He was gonna be polite, unlike how many saw orcs. He didn't even know what the line was for, until he was at the front and the knight looked him and down. Thrugzug just grinned. "Hi." Then there was an egg in his hands. Thrugzug grinned again. "Thrugzug thank nice man." He went off to find a spot to sit.

Thrugzug sat with a loud thump onto the ground, more falling than having a graceful sit down. He stared at the egg with a smile on his face, very proud of what he had. He barely noticed those heading for the carts. "Thrugzug and egg gonna be best friends."

NPC
The farmers who had loaned their carts all had lined up outside the castle. 5 carts in total, supply packs were already being loaded onto some. The one at the lead of the line watched as Ulric approached and joined. They were nervous, that much was obvious but they were also heading to the border where battles were fought and they were certainly not ready for a fight. The farmer reached up and stroked the mudsdale that was hitched to the cart. "It'll be okay. We'll be just fine."

Feral watched the group carefully. "I knew we needed a better way to recruit..." He'd answer questions until the carts left, that was all he promised to do, at least for today.

Feral's attention momentarily turned to the next person and their question. He looked her up and down. You do not want me to answer that. Was the first thought that crosses his mind. Still, clearly he was expected to answer and he wasn't about to lie to any of them about how they were hand picked, because that was obviously not true. "Look around, if we knew who was the right person for the job we wouldn't have recruiter using posters and announcements. Do these look like a team of heavily trained fighters? Not exactly. I wish I had a team if trained knights but I don't. Instead I got handed a group of misfits and Arceus only knows what. So, I'm not here to tell you if you're the right person for the job or this group, I'm here to get those who decided they wanted to try set out to hopefully stop the slaughter of everything they love so dearly. If you don't think you're up for it, I will take the egg and you can go back to the refugee camps and leave this to those who have the stomach for it, who don't care if they'll fit into the group. Cause I'm not gonna tell you that you're a special snowflake, just as I won't tell that to anyone else here because that's not my job. It's your job to decide if you want to do this or not regardless of the group, because then at least you know if you're in a group with the same goal."

Meiya was silent for a moment. He was scared from the sound of it, not to mention the situation was quite rushed. Meiya thought about the reunion the Knight and the Bulbasaur had earlier, how their happiness made her feel strange.

"I'll do it." She replied, before taking hold of the light blue egg, that was cool to the touch. "The situation here is your wishing for a warrior. I happen to be one, and if needed, I can lead the others. This place needs hope, and I shall provide it."

Meiya would put the egg down for a minute, before drawing her sword, but she held it in a leading stance.
"I swear on my oath as a knight, to protect the weak and the innocent!"

That might have been a bad mistake. She forgot her Sword had the mark of the empire on it, but she felt that this kingdom needed her, and seeing the relationship between person and Pokemon here has made her realize that the Empire must be stopped.

Sariel
Sariel wasn’t paying much attention to the others within the group. It looked to her like none, if any of these people had endured hardship or even been in battle. Granted, the dwelf had never been in battle before but she knew hardship from working in the mines alongside her father and watching their armor be crafted for a pathetic race of beings that once been noble. “Power begets greed. Madness begets tyranny. This is the Grotriya Empire. They have been twisted by power and madness and their spies are everywhere. The nation should be pitied for how they have been corrupted and fallen.”

Sariel understood not how her father could say the nation of conquers deserved pity for what they did to the other races. She did have to agree with her father that the Grotiya had spies everywhere. The dwelf turned her eyes upon the sudden noise of shouting, her eyes widening a fraction as she saw what appeared within the doorway. A hulking form dropped to the ground with a loud thud that resonated in the air, that being appearing to be an orc. Sariel has no issues with the orc, it seemed he would be as much an outsider as herself among the group. Dropping her gaze back down to the egg within her hands, she looked up again at the sound of a sword being drawn and a proclamation from someone that they could lead the group and that person would protect the weak and innocent. Should it not be someone with the nobility and training to lead? Or an...elected member by the group?

Perhaps that could be solved later. It seemed like it was time to leave now and so Sariel put the egg in her bag before getting to her feet and making her way outside to a line of carts waiting, for what she figured were this might group of pretend warriors. Sariel knew she was no warrior but she would do her best with this egg to learn and at least save her father, if not help her dwarven kin. Inhaling and then exhaling slowly to calm her sudden nerves, Sariel clambered into the first cart where someone was already sitting and set the bag down at her feet. The person sitting next to her appeared to be a human and was clad in armor, the people around them dressed in simple clothing that stood by the carts. “Hello,” she greeted as she turned slightly to face the human. “Are you nervous about this task before us? We don’t seem like the most aspiring bunch to have songs and stories told of us.”

John Louis

Offering a polite smile John adjusted his posture to a more noble bearing. "John Louis Iago Francis Charles Darien Pierre Renee Beu Lemont Devo Lepetit, member of House Lepetit of Ze Masquée Republic. Finishing with a graceful deep bow. "At your service Sir Retkanko." Returning to his standing posture, John held his head high with confidence. "Zough you may call John if it pleases you." Giving a playful smile as Ret spoke. "You are indeed perceptive, I am in fact of mixed blood. A child of both human and elvish blood." Stirred from his conversation momentarily by the young knight on the other side of the room exclaiming that the carts must be packed. Hiding his annoyance John turned quickly back to the Raskash standing before him. "It seems as zough ze time for pleasantries has passed my friend. Perhaps we might continue zis conversation once our journey has begun."

Grixa
Having gathered herself Grixa rose to her feet once more. Looking over the egg she decided that she would need a more practical way of carrying it. After a moment of thought, she proceeded to tear the lower half of her robe and tying it into a sling, and using it to secure the egg on her back. looking down at her now knee-length robe she shrugged. It was too warm for something that long anyway. Hearing thunderous footsteps approaching she looked up and saw an enormous orc towing over her diminutive frame as he collected his egg bombastically before sitting down with a tremendous thud.

Grixa couldn't help but smile at the cheerful demeanor of the behemoth as she heard a young looking human call for the carts to be loaded. Suddenly it occurred to her that she needed to gather her things. Like a bat out of hell, Grixa bolted between the legs of those leaving and headed for her tent in one of the refugee camps to gather what she might need for the journey. In a whirlwind of energy, Grixa assembled a travel pack of assorted flasks and small clay pots containing brews and ingredients, lastly grabbing a clay teapot still filled with fresh dandelion tea before running to join the group at the gathering of carts. Out of breath and struggling under the weight of her pack, she smiled warmly. "Would anyone like some tea?"

Retkanko
Retkanko continued to observe the strange half-breed as they spoke, introducing themself as John Louis and noting his observation on the fact that he was a mixed race, this apparently being the child of a human and an elf. It made sense, the name spoke nothing of the elf ancestry but it seemed the fellow hailed from the coastal republic to the north. Still having a hold on the egg he had been given, Retkanko studied John for a moment before responding. "Well met then," said Retkanko. "Call me Retkanko then," he spoke. The half-elf would need to earn his trust and loyalty to earn anything else. Their conversation was unable to be continued however as someone called for everyone to board into carriages and then turned back to him, speaking of perhaps continuing their conversation later on. once their journey had begun. "That sounds fine," said Retkanko to the suggestion, allowing his lips to curl back in a smile slightly before walking past John and heading outside, being careful not to trip anyone with his tail as he walked. Hearing something of tea when he got out to the carts, he looked to see a tiny creature that asked if anyone wanted tea. "I'll take some tea if you don't mind," said Retkanko. Admitabley, he had not had much to do with goblins, being raised by the Young Master but he understood from reading some of them were at odds with dwarves and that dwarves didn't seem to get along with elves. The Rakash prince shifted his egg so that he held it with one arm against his chest and unfurled his wings, stretching them out before looking at the carts and setting the egg into the second cart as it appeared devoid of people before climbing into it and sitting down, once again, draping his tail over an arm.

Seiko

Having successfully created a makeshift bag for the Pokemon egg, she began to get a good and proper look at it. It was dark purple, with yellowish accents on it. She couldn't possibly guess what kind of Pokemon it was, having so many in the world. All she hoped for, was that it was healthy and happy, and they could get along as proper partners. Hearing a voice, Seiko's ears twitched. Believing that the voice was directed towards her, she turned it to the direction of the voice. A woman, with long blonde hair, was speaking to her. She spoke in English, and though Seiko couldn't speak it well, she could understand it. The woman was quite pretty too, though the clothing that she wore was odd. She couldn't really speak though, she was wearing a tattered traditional garment from her home country. Confusion filled her mind as the women held out a hand for Seiko. Ah! She had seen and heard about this before. Apparently, this was how the English people greeted each other. "Ah..." Seiko let out as she slowly stood. Seiko shook the woman's hand by the name of Jeannie, with her prosthetic hand, before taking a step back and bowing. This was how she greeted people in her home country. "Ah.. Uh... Seiko." She introduced herself, though rather crudely. Normally she would make a formal introduction, but she didn't know how to say a full sentence in English, let along an entire introduction. "T-Tanaka." Seiko then said her last name.

Seiko gestured to Jeannie to have her follow Seiko, outdoors. Bending down to the ground, she wrote her name in the dirt in Kanji, the proper writing from her home country. '聖子 田中' It wrote. She learned a few words of what her Kanji meant. Under the characters, she wrote 'Holy' under Seiko, and 'Rice'. It could be used as another name for her, though Holy Rice is odd. Besides she preferred Seiko Tanaka. "Ahh... Foreign." She said, in a way to explain she doesn't speak English. "Hajimemashite." Seiko said in her language, before bowing for the woman once more.
Nerys
598149
"Ahh... That was embarrassing..." The small Elf mumbled, before walking outside. Taking notice of the carts outside, she saw a few people loading up the carts. Nerys wanted to help, but being so small and weak, there wasn't much she could do. Pouting at the fact she couldn't really do anything, she went towards the back carts. Nerys climbed up onto a cart, seeing a Rakash holding his own egg that he was given. Looking at the design of the egg, she instantly knew what Pokemon it was. She opened her mouth to tell him, but quickly stopped. Nerys didn't want to spoil it for the dragon man that easily towered over her, though he wasn't as big as the other Rakash she had seen before. Awkwardly looking around, she noticed her long hair spilled out from the back of the cart. Nerys rolled her eyes before taking her hair and braiding it quickly, even though it was sloppy, it was shorter and not in the way as much. Sighing as she finished, she pulled her egg out from the bag in pressed her forehead against the large green egg. "Can't wait to meet you, Bulbasaur." Nerys said quietly, before setting it in her lap and gently petting it and looking around at the scenery before her eyes wandered to the Rakash holding the unhatched Growlithe egg.

Finally growing the confidence to speak to him, after all he looked very intimidating. There was a rope tied to the hat he wore that held teeth of several Pokemon that can be dangerous and hostile even. "Ah... Hello..." She began, though a bit quiet and shy. "I like your hat with the Pokemon teeth. Very intriguing..." Nerys hummed, before continuing with her introduction. "I'm... Nerys. I'm... A natural healer and cook and sometimes sell medicine I make..." Nerys decided to share a little bit about herself, she was sure that this was the longest conversation she's had with someone other than her mother. She just didn't want to feel awkward and fill the silence with small talk, though she was bad at it. "Your egg... The Pokemon inside it is a very good Pokemon. I hope you two will get along very well."

John Louis
John watched as Retkanko departed amidst the rest of the group, once the last of the group had left the room he allowed his smile to fade while his gaze shifted down to the egg at his feet. Gingerly lifting the egg to his chest, he exited the room and set off for the inn he'd that had become his home for the past few days. Gingerly lifting the egg to his chest, he exited the room and set off for the inn he'd that had become his home for the past few days. Entering his room he found Céline, standing over a travel pack. "It would seem word travels fast in zis city. Or were you planning on running off to fight zis war yourself?" His words dripping with sarcasm.

Céline turned to face John with a look of sadness. "I wanted to be sure you had everything zat you would need for your journey." John raised an eyebrow at this. "You speak as zough you won't be joining me." John's expression visibly shifted to look of betrayal. He could see it in her eyes, she was abandoning him. Céline opened her mouth to speak but he cut her off. "It's for ze best. Your monstrous physique would only serve to sicken ze others in ze party." John slipped past her and collected the pack. "John Louis, you are acting like a child. You need..." She placed a hand on his shoulder only to have it smacked away as he cut her off once more. "I do not NEED anything. Not from you, not from anyone." John opened the door to the room and left Céline alone. John looked at the egg in his arms once more as he moved through the crowds. Eventually he found himself standing before the rest of the group getting ready to depart. He didn't need her, soon she'll see that. Once he comes back with the head's of the Grotriya bastards who caused all of this. Taking a second to compose himself once more, John put his things on the wagon and prepared for the journey.

Meiya would sheath her Sword, before being handed a bag by one of the Knights she encountered earlier. "That bag will keep your egg nice and cool so it can hatch without issue. It also is soft enough to hold the egg without miscarage. If you need anything else, don't hesitate to ask. You're going to dangerous territory after all."

Meiya nodded before thanking the Knight. She then put the egg in the bag, before asking a question. "By any chance, do you have a set of armor here? I feel a little exposed without some." "Yes, there is a set of armor for each of you in the Wagon."
"Thank you. I am off now to go save the kingdom!"
She definitely said it with the feeling of determination, and resolve.

She reached the Wagon, and stepped in. During this time, she looked at the group she was with, before directing her gaze away from them. She would pick up a chestplate with a cape on the back. While snapping on the belts that would make the chestplate stay where it was on her, she would speak.

"If any of you recognize me, I'm sorry for what I did before today. I was just following orders, and I was clouded by the promise of power. I swear to you that as long as I'm here, I'll keep you guys safe, but you're going to need to learn how to fight."

She soon got the gauntlets on, as well as the armored shin guards, before she looked towards the group, and bowed. "Just please, put your faith in me, I'm not the killer I was back then!"

Spess didn't even know what was going on at this point, still stressed and tired. But she was at least not out of it enough that she managed to shuffle her way over to the carts being loaded up, following the crowd. She thought to herself, maybe she shouldn't even bother going. Just leave, run, she doubted anyone would notice.

But then what? She was in the last remaining free city from Grotriya rule, so what the hell would she even do. She sighed and waited to climb aboard the cart with everyone else, her egg being held firmly in her arms not really having anywhere to put it safely. She still didn't feel like talking to anyone.

She noticed a few seemed overly enthusiastic for this mission, declaring they would save the day or offering tea to their new companions. Ridiculous, Spess felt nothing but dread remembering where her family and friends were and probably would remain for a long, long time. Even if they, by Arceus, succeeded in this mission. Things were looking grim indeed.

Spess remained silent, yes, that was the best plan she had at the moment.
