Lore
Academy for the Silenced was a small academy that was only a small group of witches during the time of the infamous Salem Witch Trials. The group practiced their craft in private, away from the court. Though, as their numbers dwindled, the group was forced to disband in fear of being discovered. Years after the trials came to an end and many loved ones were lost, the surviving witches came together once again. To avoid another disaster, they would come together to build a school. This school would act as a place for their fellow witches to study without fear or prosecution. And thus, Academy for the Silenced was born.
Academy for the Silenced is a towering, gothic-styled stone building. To the eyes of mortals, the building is abandoned and has fallen prey to the test of time. The magical community knows better, for they see Academy for the Silenced in all its glory. The school is set deep within a forest of Salem, a place that is known as The Other. It is technically a different realm but not exactly, the workings of this mysterious place are unknown but are said to have been created by the founders of the school. Only those within the magical community can access The Other and can leave via portals that transport them to different places within Salem. There is a certain beauty about Academy for the Silenced, some would call it haunting while others prefer the term creepy. Either way, there is something otherworldly about this place.
The dorms are separated by gender. All students must be in their dorms by 10 pm sharp or face punishment.
The headmaster was a beloved figure in the community for many years, so it made sense when he was appointed headmaster, after the tragic death of the previous one. It was he who saved them from destruction when they became exposed to the humans so long ago, offering tough solutions when no one else would. Dubois is a mysterious yet friendly man with a warm, grandfather-like aura.
Feast of Feast - A feast where two of the top students are chosen to offer up their flesh to members of the staff and other students. It is seen as an honor and ultimate sacrifice for the good of the community.

Roles
The Convener: Currently the top student within the grade. They are a hardworking and studious young person with little time for anything besides their studies and being the student bodyโs voice. The Convener often works with students to resolve problems and inform school leaders of ideas emanating from the class. The Covener also has the responsibility of leading class cabinet meetings and organizing student activities and events.
The Maverick: A student who doesnโt take their studies seriously. A young person who constantly skips classes and test the patience of the staff. The Maverick is here for a good time, not a long one and they certainly act as such. The black sheep of their family who has no problem with straying from the herd.
The Noblesse: The Noblesse is the top dog in school, not because of their grades, but because of their status. They flaunt the prestige that comes with their familyโs name. The Noblesse is a direct descendant of one of the schoolโs founders. Their family holds sway within the community, making others hesitate to oppose them. They bear the weight of their familyโs name and reputation on their shoulders, they know little else besides that.
The Pariah (CLOSED): The Pariah was thrown into the world of magic and given a choice to sink or swim. Though it seems as though theyโre struggling to keep their head above water. The Pariah is an outcast, a student who has no other magical blood within their family. An anomaly to many. Having come from a religious household, the Pariah was shocked to discover their heritage. Theyโre thrown into a world that they once thought of as fiction or wrong, with no way out.
The Bridge (CLOSED): The Bridge has always had a special connection with the dead. Theyโre both regarded highly for their ability yet isolated. Before attending the school the dead always bothered the Bridge, wanting things, to find closure, to get their life back, because of this the Bridge was protected by their family, sheltered if you will. They can see the dead as if they are alive or speak to them when asleep. The Bridge finally seemed to know peace at the academy, where the dead were finally silent.
The Turncoat: The Turncoat has always had commitment issues. Call them the jack-of-all-trades, they will not hesitate to play their cards when the opportunity arises. Their motives are purely selfish, and they hesitate to let anybody get too close. With eyes and ears all over the academy, they make a strong addition to any team that they see as the best fit for themself. The Turncoat will be your ally one day and your enemy the next.
The Obscured: The Obscured has spent their life in the background, drifting like a piece of driftwood in the ocean. They donโt stand out in a crowd and people tend to overlook them. Yes, the Obscured is just the typical student who has yet to figure out what they want in life, or who they want to be. Their ability to go unnoticed and simply disappear into the background makes it easy for them to avoid trouble, to hear things that they werenโt supposed without problems.
