A Place To Call Home

Many people go great lengths to find a place they can call home, but for these individuals, it's harder for them to be accepted into society. You see, they're not fully human; they're Changelings, or shape shifters. Each one of them can transform into an animal, like a werewolf or a werecat. While modern society depicts Changelings as "awesome" and "mainstream", these shape shifters go against these norms...
Many centuries ago, Changelings were a common species back then. There was no real explanation as to how or why there were so many of them, but they were treated equally as any other human being. Humans and Changelings lived together as one. While it was a peaceful society, we all know that "all good things must come to an end". Humans grew aware of how abnormal it was to change into such beasts and degraded the Changelings by banishing them from the comfort of their homes. Their agreement went as such: the humans would spare their lives if they moved away to a different and faraway place. Tensions grew between both sides until a group of Changelings joined together and titled themselves as "The Renegades". It was obvious from the meaning behind their name that they had one goal in mind: to rebel and erase humans out of history. Seeing that the population of the world today is mostly human, The Renegades failed their task; humans sought revenge against the Changelings for defying their demands and obliterated most of them off the face of the Earth. The humans also placed a curse on those that survived, a curse that the Changelings could only transform into their animal forms when they reacted towards their summoning object. Most of the Changelings' objects were taken away from them to be stored away in a secret and secluded location, but there are few of those who were lucky enough to keep it. Now in present time, only some Changelings remain, carrying on their days without a home, friends, and/or families to turn to...
... Until one day, fate brought these individuals together. On Christmas Eve, a symbol of a black wolf paw was sent around the world by a fellow Changeling, stating that "the banished ones" were to meet at the heart of Central Park in New York City, New York. Knowing that the individual was creating a homing beacon for the shape shifters, you, the Changeling, have two choices: either answer to the shape shifter's calling or to live the rest of your life in dull colors.
New relationships will form and sacrifices will be made.
An adventure to find a home will become one that you'll never forget.
