Born with intricate birthmarks, prophets have said that two specific children, a male and female, will become the greatest ninjas of all time. Years have passed, and they are indeed skilled. However, nothing more. Rumours have spread throughout the village, saying that the prophecy was fake, and the young teenagers be treated as normal. Many are disappointed by this fact, especially the parents.

Tired of their gloomy stares, the children/teenagers/adults run off into the Whispering Woods, despite being warned of the dangers within.

"I've had enough of it all." Kaori whispers to herself in annoyance, as the woods so feared by the other members of the ninja clan appears on the horizon. She rarely feels so exasperated; it must be all the pent-up emotions from the past few years. The way they look at me... She thinks to herself, as she remembers the constant look of disappointment on the villagers' faces whenever they see her.

After a quick glance at Zikame, she turns her attention back to the mysterious forest in front of her. Covered in a thin, white mist, the Whispering Woods are supposedly haunted, and filled with vile demons and beasts. Surely anywhere is better than here? She sighs quietly, thinking about the possible repercussions of going in. "Let's go." She nods towards her close friend.

As soon as Kaori says "let's go" he nods to her and starts to walk in the general direction of the woods. I've had enough of this he thinks to himself as he remembered the look of pain on his parents face
and how his mates got more distant because of the stupid prophecy. They probably are right, it's all a lie.

Zikame had a few friends left but didn't trust anyone as to the plan of going through the forest, many people would stop them from going, as it is very dangerous and apparently the most terrible creatures roam around here . Even Kaori has the same feelings I have, and she's usually so calm. He waves aside the thought and catches up to Kaori as they enter the forest.

Walking cautiously into the forest, nothing of great alarm occurs; until a few seconds later. Branches from the tallest of trees reach towards the ground, entangling within another to block the entrance; and exit. "What the hell...?" Quickly heading backwards, she hits the thick barrier with her katana. "What? Why?" She asks in alarm. "We can't go back, I guess we have to keep going."

A few seconds later, the earth begins to rumble beneath their feet. Out of the darkness of the trees, a massive ogre emerges from the depths. He charges towards the ninjas, as they quickly leap out of the way. "The elders were right!" She yells at Zikame. "What should we do?"

"What the hell!" Zikame says as the branches blocked the way to the village 'Looks like we aren't going home anytime soon' he thinks as he studies the branches lookin for some way out "there is no use swinging your katana at it Kaori, these branches are super thick, and we don't want you blunting the katana, I agree let's move on." Zikame says.

As the ground rumbles Zikame thinks 'What now?' As he sees the towering figure of the ogre he knew now why this forest is so dangerous, getting trapped inside and meeting monsters straight away wasn't the most welcome place. "There is no other way out of this, we have to fight" Zikame says desperately as he looks around, trying to find a way to escape or at least find a good high spot to throw his shurikens. As he realises there is none he walks over to Kaori and takes out a couple of shurikens from his sleeve pocket, dropping a few on the ground because of the frightened state he was in.

"Seems like it." She replies through gritted teeth. "Cover me!" She yells, as she charges forth with her katana. With a diagonal swing, she attempts to slice the monstrous creature, only for her sword to barely scratch it. Unamused, the ogre simply uses his giant fist to punch Kaori into a tree.

Gasping for breath, she clutches her chest hard. Wiping her mouth, she realizes she had coughed up blood. This isn't good. "Zikame, be careful!" She screams as she watches the ogre walk up to her friend.

As he saw Kaori go straight for the giant he yells "Be careful!" As he watches Kaori charge at the giant. As she hit the giant Zikame thought haha she's got you now! But as he saw the ogre it was barely scratched Zikame then saw Kaori get swept aside by the ogres quick, huge fists and Zikame screamed "KAORI" with desperation as he saw her cough out blood. The ogre turned his attention to
Him for a second but then turned back again as Kaori shouted "Zikame, be careful" damn my plan didn't work he thought. He had to do something quick. He yelled at the ogre "Hey, over here,1 eye!" As he threw his shurikens at the giant creature, aiming at the eyes. The giant ran towards him quickly and the shurikens ended up getting embedded in the ogre. He jumped up onto a branch above trying to get back to Kaori but the giant caught up with him and punched him right in the back. He swore he heard something crack as he fell onto the ground next to Kaori. "Kaori..." croaked Zikame as he tries to reach for her.

"Zikame...is this the end for us?" She whispers, as she watches the monstrous beast slowly walk up to them. Not giving up all hope, she picks up her katana, and shakily stands between the ogre and her friend. She was scared, absolutely frightened even, but she had a strong resolve to protect him. As the older one, she had a sense of duty. The ogre scoffed at the scene, and raised his fist arrogantly, preparing to wipe her out for good. Going for a distraction, Kaori threw her katana directly at the ogre's eye. Piercing deeply into the flesh, the ogre screams and stomps around angrily.

Quickly, Kaori picks up Zikame and rushes deeper into the forest. But the ogre, was following quickly behind, in an incredible rage.

after slipping in and out of consciousness for a while, Zikame finally snaps out of it and is immediately alert as he took in the scene. A ogre chasing them with a katana is his eye... wait a katana in his eye? damn she threw her favorite katana for me, what a good shot too, right in the eye he thought to himself as he was bundled along by Kaori."Can you let go of me please?" Zikame asks

"Only if you can run or climb." She answers back, growing out of breath from all the running. Suddenly a dexterous tree root emerges from the earth, and trips Kaori over, causing Zikame to go flying forward from the momentum. Just as she recovered from the fall, a green fist picks her up and lifts her into the air. As the ogre squeezed her body, she could feel her bones crack. She screamed incredibly loudly, in the most unbearable pain she has ever felt.

Zikame got lurched forwards into the air and rolled a little forwards from the momentum until it finally came to a stop. As Zikame saw Kaori getting crushed by the ogre he tried to yell for her but all he got out was a croak "Kaori ... " . Hopelessly, he tried to get up and crawl to her, but only succeeded in hurting his back where the blow had been last. Zikame closed his eyes, hoping for his death to come quick. Suddenly, a tingling sensation went throughout his right arm and where his birthmark was. When he checked in both places, they were glowing red. Suddenly, power coursed throughout his body and he felt no pain in his body anymore from where the ogre last hit him. He felt an strange urge to unsheathe his blade, Zikame decided he would and without even realising he said the words "Ryuujin no ken wo kurae!" and dashed quickly towards the ogre. Zikame sliced the ogres hand off and Kaori dropped to the ground. Zikame quickly took Kaori in his arms and run off a bit, seeing Kaoris birthmarks starting to glow too and her injuries fading away.

Before she realized it, somehow the situation from earlier was reversed. Now Zikame was carrying her and running away from a rather bloodthirst ogre...that was missing a hand? As she began to inspect her wound, she realized...she didn't have any. "Wait...what's happening?" Looking at her left shoulder, she notices a bright white light underneath her clothing. Inspecting it, she realizes her birth mark had begun to glow, for some strange reason. Confused, but realizing she doesn't need to be carried anymore, she hopped out of Zikame's arms. "Hey...what did you just do?" She asks as they continue running.

The ogre, incredibly enraged, suddenly jumped, and landed two metres in front of them. Attempting to grab her again, realizing that she is the weaker one, Kaori screams out. "NOT AGAIN!" As an icy wonderland magically appears from her words. The ogre, and his fist which was a foot away from her, were frozen solid, covered in a thick layer of ice. "Huh....?" Realizing the ogre could be back any second, and break through the ice, she urged Zikame. "Finish him!"
