Ragna
Location: Ragna's Workshop
Interactions: LostHaven LostHaven

To Ragna, Faust was a rather peculiar client. He has said some absurd things, although they are not technically that weird compared to certain previous transactions Ragna had done, still it makes the bony man appear quite intriguing to the mage-scientist.

"A self-destructing function, huh?", Ragna commented. "A strange choice, but it shall be done."

Once Faust began to explain Ragna the situation beyond his current perspective, he fell silent for a short moment. Cyrus, regardless of how strange their pseudo-rivalry may be, was still a friend of his. Time was a common factor in Ragna's loss of relatives and acquaintances, but it never occurred to him that such a convoluted fate would befall one of those whom he is affiliated to. But, mourning would not get one anywhere, and Ragna being a rather goal-oriented man, decided to pass off the unfortunate event as such, a misfortune that befell his friend.

However, the threat of the rumored risen lich is something not one should ignore. That, of course, Ragna knew fully well. Though he may not have been part of the old anti-Turenval crew, he had done enough research to know just how terrible a man consumed by power could be - and from what he has known about Turenval, that man would stop nothing for more.

Hence, Ragna has decided to make certain preparations for certain situations and outcomes. But that will have to wait later, he is in the middle of a business transaction right now.

"Very well.", he responded to Faust's inquiry of fetching an early payment. Ragna snapped his fingers thrice, and two homoncu-maids hurriedly went to his side. "Escort Faust outside, and wait for his return."

The homoncu-maids bowed, and proceeded to do so as ordered by their master.

Shortly after that, the homoncu-maid Gisela has returned with a crate filled with various materials - a large mat, chalk, a mixture of metals and wood, some fluids, etc. and laid it down before Ragna.

"Transmutation Set 40.", she said with a bow. "As you've ordered, Master Ragna."

"Well done.", Ragna replied, as he began to set it all up, first by laying out the mat and arranging the materials in a specific order. "You may leave and continue your work."

The maid bowed, then left shortly, as Ragna continued to set up.

Bianca Ensyreia

Aid has arrived, or so it would seem. A cloaked man struck down the undead before they could even know they were hit. Judging by his looks, this man would seem to have originated from a desert. Granted, he was showing signs of struggle and exhaustion, but the man was skilled in way. The cloaked man seemed like he was here for his own purpose, causing Bianca to assume that he was one of the 'others' that Espania's Grand Magus has called upon for help.

And knowing such, Bianca didn't need to waste time in fancy introductions and whatnot. The fate of her homeland lies amidst all this chaos. She continued to move onward, stopping a few meters from the man, but with enough distance to let her voice be heard. There, she took cover behind a ruined wall, as she observed the abomination of man and machine from a safe distance - carefully and attentively analyzing every detail of its movement, and its appearance. Hopefully, she'd find out something that would help her bring down this fiend that has desecrated this once beloved city.

"You must be one of the 'others' the Grand Magus was talking about.", she said whisperingly. "What is this creature? Do you know anything about it?"

The malformed necromancer strode across the street until the wall of a burning house broke down. Seconds later, a girl, no older than eighteen, came through it, but it was too late for her to run. He saw her and lowered his sinister frame, quickly grappling her neck with his 'human' hands and strangling her.

"Please, no!" she wept as her airway slowly collapsed, thrashing around wildly with her legs and lower body, kicking at the unbothered monster. The creature had far more strength than his appearance suggested.

"Incorrect request; there is no life, only death." He doubled his efforts and a symphony of clicks began to sound. "You are weak. I improve; change and make better. Current form leaves much to be desired: no weapons, no armor, weak utility; poor structure. Will improve. Will make beautiful."

The final click, louder than the others sounded. The girl's thrashing came to an end, and so had her life.

The monster switched syringes, injecting the girl with a viscous azure fluid. He followed it up by injecting her with a bubbling, emerald fluid. In the end, he gave her a shot of his special dark green concoction and dropped her to the ground.

The girl's body vibrated, as boils appeared all over her body. They bubbled and then exploded, covering her body in sticky, putrid, green liquid. It sunk into her skin and changed her complexion green. She mutated further: growing scales; sharp and nasty, yellow claws; becoming bigger in size. Until she stood up with a rabid growl and she was half as tall as she used to be, a wicked monster and a caricature of her former self.

By the time she was standing, the necromancer had moved onto animating more victims across the street.

Amidst the black sky, covered in charred, coal-black skies and blazing with fire, one bird swooped down and slowed its descent. Aergundias landed on a pole showing directions to local establishments, like the long-burnt tavern, just above Bianca and Soren's heads. He proceeded to explain:

"The creature down this street, I have taken to call a necrobot. Vile necromancers of Turenval. They combined their knowledge of the machine, magic, and alchemy to become... monsters. They are powerful but fear not. Their substances and toxins can only affect the dead. That said, fear the abnormities they create. Good luck, Einherjar... and you, whoever you are."

The bird's eyes gazed at Soren intently.

Elizabeth Cain - Infirmary/outside - available for interaction - (mentioned: LostHaven LostHaven )
After leaving the infirmary with the skull of her friend, which would have been rather strange in any other circumstances to her, if it weren't for who her old acquaintance was, she decided to do a kind deed, but to do this deed, it required her to be outside, as she didn't exactly want to flood the hallways with water.

Elizabeth, the wealthy vampire, made her way outside calmly, now not having to worry about the recently-erected pesky holy barrier that had made life so difficult prior to receiving the charm from faust. She flicked her small umbrella up as she walked outside before setting the skull down next to a wall, against holding out her hand and blasting the skull with water. "I hope the old thing doesn't crumble.. Let's see how much milk he's been drinking." she giggled to herself as the skull slid this way and that across the base of the wall. Part of her wanted to see how Faust would react to a broken skull, but part of her didn't, so she merely left it to chance, sitting there giggling as she power-hosed a skull around the place

Soren looked at what the kimono woman was looking at with disgust on his face. She asked what he knew of, so he replied with, "Others...grand magus? I have no idea what you speak of. I just woke up in my inn room to screams and death. And I'm sure I don't consort with any magical being. Though it's refreshing to know the city isn't filled with just corpses..."

Soren watched as the girl struggled in vane against the monster. He was about ready to run up and stop it when a bird began speaking to them. The bird referred to the woman as 'Einherjar' which was a curious name. The bird stared at him intently. Soren felt a shiver run down his spine as it did. Soren glared daggers at the bird before saying, "Soren, that's what you can call me, devil bird. I'll take your advice, but don't rope me into any deals."

Soren looked over to the necrobot. From the girl's thrashing, it was likely it was stronger than it looked. Soren would get injured and kiled easily if he didn't rush in without a plan. The machine parts may make the whole job harder as well. Soren looked over to the girl named 'Einherjar' and asked, "What do you think, Einherjar? I've never seen such a hidious life form before. The devil bird also said to fear the substances it holds...even though it supposedly only affects the dead."

Looking at the malformed girl, Soren felt a bit of bile rise from his stomach before forcing it back down. Whatever this necrobot's goal was, it was clearly not a sane one. Such an evil thing shouldn't be allowed to exist.

She looked off to the side and saw a massive spire of bleachy marble far away beyond the trees, like an arrow entering the heavens. An azure field protected it from the outside.

When Martin arrived, his black, rusted armor was wet and dripping with blood. His fingers were splayed and constantly clenching, straightening and clenching, over and over, as if wanting to grab something desperately. He panted loudly, like a tired dog.

The undead don't breathe. Jaeyna ignored this. She looked away from him with a clouded expression then said, "Martin. Go in first and clear out the dungeon of any monsters. I'll deal with the Guild."

He moaned in defiance, unmoved.

She turned and leveled a cold look at him. "Do it, or I will destroy you," she stated nonchalantly.

The dark knight stood silent for a moment, then walked past her in the direction of the dungeon. He understood authority. He could warp and was a bit stronger, but her techniques made her more dangerous than him. She had years of training, but he was a wild beast without direction.

Besides, she had a score to settle in the name of another of her fellow death knights...
A sound reached the group. They heard air friction; something like a ballista shot moving through the air above in the sky. Until it hit the ground with an explosion of dust and earth next to them and the horrible reality became apparent.

A knight, female, in midnight black armor. She had a sword in her right hand and a big shield strung over her left forearm. Landing on her feet, she created a tiny crater below her.

As the particles of dust from her fall returned to the earth, her voice snapped: "The angel will die. The rest of you can go." She only wanted vengeance on Auriel and expected the rest to move along to the dungeon. Martin would take care of them once he found them.

A hologram of Cyrus floated in the air, his feet as unwavering as if they were standing on the ground. He didn't move, but his form followed by Veth's horse, to the right and a little bit forward. He was looking at Veth as he asked, "Did you reach the forest yet?"

Holo-Cyrus looked around. His senses were limited because a hologram couldn't have proper eyes of any sort unless special features were put in place to allow that. His sensations were limited to the esoteric, and he sensed a dense cloud of lesser, almost nonexistent spiritual signatures around them: plants. Taking that as an answer, Cyrus looked at Veth once again.

"You should direct yourself towards the Great Tree. I am familiar with it. I believe it may be willing to help you on the journey and transport you to the Feywild. Once we arrive through the portal, your Guild Seal will stop working. I will copy my consciousness into your Guild Seal so that I can help you, but teleportation won't work across planes. Remember that, Veth."

Julia felt her blood boil with her teeth clenching and her smiling face distorted into rage. "UGH! That skeleton will get what he deserves! He is DEFINITELY losing his lower end and I am CRUSHING his left leg into bonemeal! That worthle-" Julia stopped herself realizing a young Lou was still there. She turned around and gave a cough into her fist, but she wasn't smiling. Rather, Julia's face just looked exasperated and tired. "Well Lou...apologies you had to bear witness to my minor episode there. Try not to...listen to what that lazy, worthless, troglodyte of a skeleton has to say." Julia looked to the book Lou was reading and noticed it was about magic. The boy sure had a lot of effort, but Julia wondered if he actually had any on-hands experience. He...or she was so quiet, he was probably drowned out by even a bird's wings when Lou tried to ask for anything.

"How well can you apply the principals in this book? Because if you want help, I, the Karstan family's Sorceress, can give you the honor of learning from me," Julia offered while she place her right hand proudly on the top of her chest with a prideful smile and closed eyes. After she had made the offer she reached into her satchel and pulled out a round gem. It had the glow of the sky when the sun was setting while the cracks and fissures in it resembled fluffy clouds.
4287166465_f475199ae6_b.jpeg

"One of my favorite principals is gems. They may store great amounts of magical energy or amplify it. Gems like quartz and diamond are prime storage gems. Quartz being the most common and easiest to utilize while diamond is the superior one. A diamond of the same size can hold a thousand times more than a measly quartz crystal. This on the other hand is a prime example of an enhancing crystal, a Fire Opal."

Julia held out her left hand and gave a burst of flame to come out then held her right hand up. The fire opal began to glow and flames spewed forth from it. Far brighter and larger than the flame in Julia's left hand. "When I channel the mana through this gem with the fire element in mind, it reduces mana wasted and runs at a higher efficiency. It also strengthens the element. I plan to have this made into a ring, so I need to go somewhere reliable, but before I do would you like to try this?" Julia held the gem out to Lou with a kind smile on her face.

Toorvan was walking around the premises towards the training grounds with his lance, Crinvig in hand. The day wasn't bad, but Toorvan was bored. He hadn't taken a job in a while. He was half satiated in terms of blood, so maybe he would ask one of the people in the guild if he could have a drink. Toorvan heard water power jetting into an object nearby and looked to the source. It was Elizabeth, another, much younger vampire who Toorvan thought was in the infirmary. She leaning Faust's skull to a wall and hosing it down.

"Good day, Miss Cain. I do hope you fare well today. Might I ask what you're doing to Sir Faust's head? I do hope it isn't something sinister. Not a lot of people here think fondly of the lich, so it would be understandable."

A small crack emitted from the skull as it rolled to its side slightly. Toorvan only gave a short "Oh my" in a nonchalant voice. He didn't really care about what happened to Faust's skull, but it was still a part of the vault keeper's body, so he hoped something so minor didn't effect the lich's abilities. Toorvan gave a kind smile to Elizabeth and said, "I think it would be wize to stop. Rather than just watering it, we could get some milk to polish it."

A voice sounded from behind her, interrupting her snickering session as the knocked her lich-friend's head around the place, resulting in her stopping the small torrent being released from her hand to face the person, only to be faced with another familiar face, that she hadn't seen in many years. "Ah.. Hello my dear Toorvan. It's been a while." she hummed politely, upholding her ever-present smile. Elizabeth still held a small amount of disdain for other vampires in particular, due to the rather mortifying childhood that had been her own, although she had somewhat gotten over the events over time. Toorvan was one of the few people she knew from around forty years back, along with Faust, a small, undead trio, like the three musketeers, at least for the small amount of time she had spent in the fort, not to mention one of the few fellow vampires that she could stand the presence of.

"I'm just cleaning Faust's skull for him" she chuckled before wincing at the sound that emanated from her friend's head. "Thing's as dirty as a rat. He lost it you know! I had to collect it for him." she explained before turning back to the skull and continuing the onslaught of water. "I don't take pleasure from doing this, although I do find it humorous." the vampire-woman giggled to her much older friend. "If an lich's head can't handle a little bit of water, then Turenval must be an easy target." she said simply, her small sun-brella looming over her head, keeping her in the shade before laughing out another set of words "Milk simply doesn't give quite the same level of a good power-washing though."

Hermione shook her head, trying to get rid of the flies that were perpetually buzzing around her head. They just would not go! They kept landing on her large, goat like ears, making them twitch about involuntarily which was really annoying. She scratched at her head, feeling an itch, her fingers getting tangled in the wild brown locks. It had been… quite some time since she had last had a bath so this was a regular occurrence. The Saytr gave up on trying to get rid of them and continued her way through into the courtyard. Her hooves clopping on the cobblestone making a sound like what could only be described as a two-legged horse.

What to do? What to do…? Hermione took out her wineskin and took a long drink from the pouch. So far, nothing remotely interesting had happened. She had just refilled the pouch after buying the wine… not before spending the rest of it on ale. So, to say Hermione was tipsy was a severe understatement. If anything, she was just looking for somewhere to sit and just enjoy the area.

But as she walked, she noticed something that caught her attention. Someone who had stupidly put their small bag of gold in their back pocket. Hermione smirked a little. Sure… it was daylight. She was standing on cobblestone so she couldn’t be stealthy enough. She was clearly going to get caught. Her black horse-like tail swished as she thought. Maybe it was the wine or maybe it was the need for money… but she was feeling bold. Taking one step towards the person, she took one last look before slowly reaching towards the person. It was worth a shot, right? What could go wrong?

Faust Windfallow || Ragna's Workshop -> Guild Vault -> Ragna's Workshop || Interacting With Ragna ( Reinhardt Reinhardt )

Faust nodded, as he followed the Humoncu-maids outside of Ragna's workshop. "Uh yeah, I can teleport from here. I think..." He muttered, as he stepped out of the workshop. Without looking back at the humunculi, Faust waved his hands, and cast a teleportation spell, disappearing altogether.

Faust found himself back at the dreaded, dark hallway that was the vault entrance. "How many years did I waste down here again?" He thought to himself aloud, as approached the vault. "I get that some shit in here is utterly evil and corrupted, but some stuff should actually be taken out and used..." Faust commented, as he retrieved his vault-key. On the other side of the gate was a huge bronze circle, with a cubic device lodged into it. Much to Faust's inconvenience, teleportation into the vault was impossible, even for him. "Can't really be helped..." He sighed, as he brought the crystalline key up to the socket, and he inserted the key into the gate.

"Alright... Now where did I leave that thing...?" Faust uttered to himself, as he wandered through the vault, gazing at the various artifacts stored within it. However, his objective was not the various magic artifacts or weapons. He eventually stopped at a coffin, with its lid firmly shut and bound to the coffin with chains. Looking back, Faust wondered why he chose to store the thing in a coffin, of all things. "I had coffins lying around? Fuck I'm weird." He said to himself, as he attempted to move the entire coffin out of the vault, to no avail. "Damn it." Faust cursed, as he attempted to think of how he would get the container out of the vault...

It took him a while, but Faust managed to drag the entire coffin out of the vault, though at the sacrifice of ten minutes of his precious time. Thankfully, neither the floor of the vault, nor the coffin sustained damage all thanks to the smooth floor of the vault. Sealing the doors of the vault shut, Faust was finally able to transport the goods to Ragna's workshop. "I'm so fucking dead once Risa finds out..." Faust told himself, laughing. "Well, you only live once." He joked, casting a teleportation spell, and appeared back at Ragna's workshop.

"Yeah, move that inside, have fun with that. Don't damage it." He told the humuncu-maids. "I guess I'll go back inside."

Kit chuckled softly. "Bem, not once have I lied to you since we've met, and I see no reason to start now." He reassured the bee.

The cat listened as Ellis gave the very much abridged version of where magic came from. Of course, there was much more than that involved, what with meridians to consider, but for a beginner, it was a good start. "What Ellis said is correct. All living things are capable of producing mana to varying degrees. Some people produce very little mana naturally, and must meditate and train if they wish to produce more. Others produce exceptional amounts of mana without much training. It's really like with most things. Take combat, for example. Some people are naturally predisposed to be better fighters, while others have to put in a bit more effort to reach the same level. Such is the same with mana and magic." He paused, his tail swishing behind him thoughtfully for just a moment.

"Maybe a visual will help give you a better idea." He closed his eyes. Slowly almost as a spirit making itself known, something that looked much like steam rose off of his form from various spots on his body. Thin, trailing wisps of mana itself, sparsely spread over his body in quantities far too small to be representative of a trained magic user. By inverting a detect magic spell, and making a few other adjustments, he could make his mana visible to someone without training in magic, though for now he was holding back.

"This is how non-magic users tend to look, more or less." Ki'Tavi opened his eyes as he spoke. "They produce mana, but these thin little pockets of mana won't do much good beyond basic magic" he held up a hand, showing the thin, almost hairlike strands of mana. "As you grow more proficient, you can start to produce more mana..." Gradually, those thin, hairlike strands of mana expanded, now appearing more like small, gentle flames on his body. "And with more mana, you need more control, otherwise you could over or underdo a spell and not get the intended result. In this regard, you can think of mana much as a muscle. The more you train it, the stronger it gets. The stronger it gets, the more careful you have to be not to accidentally hurt something unintentionally."

Of course, Ellis and Drui could probably tell Kit was holding back his mana. He wasn't showing them the full brunt of his magical abilities...

The cat held up his palm again, holding a tiny seed in his palm. "By manipulating my mana.... I can encourage this seed to bloom." he murmured, the mana trails now swirling around the little seed. Slowly, as he said, the seed sprouted without soil, bursting into bloom in the palm of his hand under the influence of the mana. "Does that explain things a little better?" he asked with a subtle, very feline tilt to his head.

The homoncu-maids stationed outside, who waited for Faust's return, were quite confused as to why their master's client had brought them a large coffin, but they complied with the bony man's request nonetheless. Surprisingly enough, the two lifted it with much ease, not even letting it come to the ground until they have reached their destination - where Ragna was.

Back at the hall, Ragna could be found standing on top of a mat, with a stack of adamantite bars that nearly covered 60% of his height, clearly exceeding Faust's initial request of a mere twelve bars. He shook off the residual dust from his hands, and stepped aside to let the two homoncu-maids in - who placed the coffin upright a few inches away from the stack of adamantite.

"What is that?", he asked the two of them.

"Your client asked of us to bring it in, Master Ragna.", one of them said.

"I assume it is his payment, Master Ragna.", the other one added.

Ragna looked at the coffin with such curiosity, and dismissed the two homoncu-maids. What could be inside such a thing? Was Faust giving him a corpse? Another body to contain him perhaps? Or maybe something else entirely?

Aergundias gave some insight on the creature, but not enough to provide them specifics. Though that would suffice, learning about Soren being a random person who got dragged into this mess slightly messed with Bianca's resolve. Sure, she already knew that there was a price for drawing her sword, but with another person now in the vicinity, she's beginning to think twice about her decision, especially if it would cost this man's life - similar to what happened back then at Xhorhas.

But the time for that is not now. There is a half-man, half-machine necromancer who is going around the city, taking lives and morphing them into abomination that it calls as beautiful. Enough lives has been lost in the absence of the Einherjar, and that stops now.

"Hm.", Bianca said.

She, then, without hesitation, leaped out of the wall she used as cover and launched herself towards the atrocities freshly made by the necrobot. Wasting no time, she cut through them as if they posed no threat. She dashed from one enemy to the other, her momentum carrying quickly towards the source - the necrobot.

Several felled abominations later, Bianca slid on the ground and slashed on one of the metallic legs of the necrobot, cutting it off like it was mere paper. She ended up on the opposite side, now facing the necrobot face to face, with a fair amount of distance between them. She stood immediately, and changed her stance.

Her gaze fell upon the necrobot. She knew not of it's weak point, but with what she has observed so far, doing a fatal strike this creature's upper torso would prove to be quite effective.

She breathed deeply.

The next strike will bring the end of this fiendish being.

Lou gave Julia a confused gaze as she went on a tantrum after Lou's query, claiming that once she was done with the undead vault-keeper, he'd be missing more than just a pelvis, and one of his limbs would be crushed into bonemeal. Was a farming implement so offensive? Lou had distinctively remembered Faust calling people 'smuts' or 'slugs' or something. Lou decided it was best not to bring that up, seeing how violently Julia had reacted to his first question.

"Sorry, I only got the 'lazy' and 'skeleton' part of that sentence... I didn't understand the rest." Lou muttered in response to Julia's advice to ignore the good-for-nothing undead. It appears that the vault-keeper had a reputation for his strange behaviors, Lou concluded. "I get it though. Just never listen to him? Ever?"

Lou's eyes lit up at Julia's mention of teaching some of her magic to him. He was practically shivering with excitement as Julia presented an opal-jewel and offered him the choice to try out the gem. "Can I?" Lou asked, brimming with enthusiasm. The tone in his voice had changed noticeably, loud enough to disturb the quiet of the library. He reminded himself of that, as he quietened down once more. "But, shouldn't we do this in the training yard?"

He skittered across the street in the direction of his next patient, but was rudely interrupted by an attack.

Bianca sliced off one of his legs, which gave him pause. The necrobot faced the Einherjar, in no visible pain or distress despite the loss of one limb. His body shifted, re-adjusting the balance to stand on seven legs.

"You're one of those... adventurers," he asserted, then leered at Bianca. His gaze fell over her like a disgusting wave of corrupt judgment. It appears he could detect magic, as he quickly stated, "Magical weapon; dangerous."

His legs drilled deep into the ground and compressed, crouching down. As soon as Bianca delivered the attack, the necrobot shot from the ground and leaped back into a stone-built building, digging his limbs into it and clinging to it. The tip of Muramasa narrowly missed slicing the edge of his chest open - the movement was calculated.

He yelled at her from the thirty meters of distance between them that he deemed safe. "Your body is sickening; suboptimal. Even your penultimate tactics will be inadequate to defeat me one on one. Both of us lack the offensive capability to do harm to each other."

The necrobot began to scale up the building like a real spider, intending to flee. As his legs walked up the wall, his torso rotated three-sixty degrees and he aimed his hand at the street. Small, dark-green syringes shot from the apparatus on his forearm with pinpoint accuracy, hitting several corpses. Seconds later, they rose up as zombies: a distraction.

The necrobot climbed to the roof of the building and prepared to leap away again.

Veth didn't have a chance to reply to Cyrus's question about reaching the forest. He had taken a look around and determined she was where he had directed her. She pulled back on the reins and her horse stalled when he mentioned the Great Tree. As a Lecethian, the Great Tree to her was a deity and responsible for their existence. They called it the Driaish Tree. She turned to look at Cyrus, her expression giving nothing away about her curiosity, "I'm meeting the Driaish Tree?"

She gently pressed her feet into her steeds sides, encouraging it to continue moving towards the direction Cyrus was leading her. She had almost missed what he has said after that, about the Feywild, the guild seal, and teleporting. She turned her gaze ahead, pressing onward still. "The Feywild?" she asked, having only heard mentions of such things. There was so much she still needed to learn after a life of seclusion.

"This one understands your plan thus far. This one will not attempt to use the guild seal to transport herself while in this other realm."

Veth eventually reached what she assumed was the Great Tree. It was unlike the others in the area and there was a strange feeling about it as well. She dismounted cautiously, looking around at the environment warily. She wasn't sure what to expect. To be greeted with animosity or peace after coming to such a sacred place.[/div][/div][/div]

Drui remained where she was, feeling Ellis's body shake a bit in reaction to her words. She wasn't looking at his face so she missed the obvious blush as well as his other less favorable expressions, though she wouldn't have really been bothered by them had she seen them. She stayed draped around him contently, finding herself very disappointed she hadn't gotten a rise out of any of the others after revealing Ki'Tavi and Veth had shared a room for the night.

Drui let out a soft 'hmm' at she noticed Ki'Tavi's tail twitch at the mention of Veth staying overnight with him. It was small and perhaps she was reading too much into it, but perhaps this would be a bit of fun to tease them both about. He and Ellis continued with their boring speech about magic and how it worked to Bem. Honestly, Bem needed a female mentor rather than these two boys. The poor girl misunderstood the most basic thing about human nature; it was random and each person was different. If she could just grasp that basic concept it'd be a step in the correct direction towards more complex things.

"Bem, perhaps you should just take a peek at the books in the library on the subject. There are quite a few, maybe you can study with darling Ellis," she said the last bit with a light giggle, grabbing a firmer hold of the person in question so he couldn't try to flee. "After all, he is a bit of a student himself. Or you can just come with me and we can have some one on one time and I'll answer your questions."[/div][/div][/div]

While Elizabeth's reasons made sense he still saw several things wrong with her logic. "Well, you are power hosing it in a corner, I'm sure any lich, even Faust, wouldn't make it that easy. And by polish I do mean polish. Force isn't the only solution to cleaning...jokes about milk and calcium aside that is." A minor crack was heard by Toorvan's ears and he made a motion to the skull which was now cleaned of most of its dirt. "I think that's a good place to stop. I doubt you heard it, but I think the power hosing is starting to wear it down."

Elizabeth had some rather mixed feelings about vampirism the first time Toorvan had seen her. She had aged though, so he had to admit her vampiric blood was of low purity or just different. He was glad she seemed to have grown far more accustomed to her situation. Elizabeth always struck him as kind, perhaps it was the chief reason they clicked so well.

"I do hope you're well enough to walk around. If not, I can always provide some spare energy to one of my own." Toorvan gave a kind smile and held up his left palm to produce a dull crimson flame which was sourcing from Crinvig, the spear. "In exchange, perhaps it would be a good time to catch up. I am very fascinated by your experiences." Toorvan said such because it was his goal to help the misunderstood. There were bad vampires, but there were also good vampires such as Elizabeth, Kisho, and him. By collecting the stories and experience, there was always a form of knowledge to give to those who didn't understand.

"My people are too affectionate compared to your people, your people are just too sensitive. Everyone Apart from you seems to find it all as very intimate, which makes you an anomaly." Bem buzzed to the goddess in response. ".. And what's this about the birds and our ancestors?" Bem chimed in confusion, wondering what could be so funny about the past of the apiana as to cause the goddess to burst into spontaneous laughter. "I also fail to see how I can be my own worst enemy. Surely, if I were an enemy, I would attack myself, but that is clearly not the case, so you must be mistaken." the apianian warrior spoke, oblivious to the expressions that had been used on her."He's yet to produce any music and seems much more like a de-... I mean 'wizard' than a bard, if you ask me. I also fail to see the relation between birds and bees and more intimate actions.."

Bem was somewhat overwhelmed by the ensuing explanations of magic, how it worked and all that. But she grabbed most of it as it seemed quite similar to physical combat, although the idea that such strange happenings could be made to occur purely through work was still someone hard for her to believe. "You can make the very laws that govern this world make no sense with your magic? Because you thought really hard that it should happen? I'm sorry to say, but that just sounds a little ridiculous." Bem frowned at the duo of mages, while choosing not to make any comments towards the cat with his relations with the white-haired elf, but feeling somewhat bitter about it. "I knew him agreeing with her had more to do with it." floated around inside her head, leaving her with just an audible "hmph" sound towards Ki'tavi.

"You may not have lied to me, but there always may come a time where you may choose to do such a thing." Bem growled at him, showing a small bit of aggression, mainly due to the fact that she felt like Ellis and him knew so much about magic, and despite their explanations, it made her want to trust them a little less. "I do not need a visual guide, I understand and do not wish to know more." she hissed, standing up, thumping the base of her spear into the ground to aid in the process. They were talking to her like a child, and while she did yearn for information, the less she knew about this magical stuff, the better. She paid very little attention to the display and instead turned to the one named Drui as she spoke. "I.. Cannot read. Unlike the majority of your people, as I have been made aware, and I do not wish to spend time with Ellis here as he has made it known to me that he find my presence detestable, as do I to him." she said without a hint of joy or humour in her voice, feeling much more like the mindless guard she used to be and slowly losing hope in the idea of the joys of adventure in this new world. "I may accept your offer to join you in the future." she grumbled. Although the woman seemed quite pleasant, her choice of 'interest' in Ellis made her seem a little less ideal to spend time with. If she didn't get along well with Ellis, she assumed she wouldn't get along well with the goddess of these 'Bards'

"Magic will, and always will be, something I dislike. I understand it better now, but that does not mean I appreciate it. I apologise, Ellis, for the name-calling, but do request you apologise in return." she said formally, making it seem more like she were talking to some people she barely knew, rather than people she could call friends. Bem still felt like she knew very little about them and wanted to stay detached from them, at least for the time being. Her emotions still felt a little unstable after her little breakdown, and needless to day, Bem didn't particularly feel like being friendly after such an event.

Julia sighed slightly in relief before opening her mouth to say, "Yes, don't listen to that bag of bones. That troglodyte, Faust, isn't a good influence for young girls your age." She then smiled warmly as Lou's excitement filled the room with a much louder voice only to quiet down asking about the training yard. He was probably right, since the young child had the power of a dragon...maybe giving Lou a stone to enhance fire magic wasn't a great idea in a room filled with books and texts which were practically tinder.

"You might have a point about the library...you are a novice after all. Come now," Julia took Lou's hand and began walking him around towards the training yard when she noticed a shadow walking behind them with its hand out. Julia's face flushed and she turned around and immediately shouted. "Stone Shackle!" Pillars of Rock erupted from the ground and grabbed hold of the limbs to hold the victim in place. After she turned around a loud clink was heard and Julia looked to see her coin purse sitting on the ground. She then looked back at what she had caught...a dirty Satyr. "You fiend! Trying to rob me of my riches is a higher crime than you could imagine! I demand to know your name and your rank. I'll let the Guild Master decide your punishment."

Fable Fable
The tree was grandiose, taller than any other in the entire Grand Forest: it reached to the sky, covering it with leaves like a large, green cloud. The diameter of its trunk must have been bigger than Fort Black altogether and its bark was ancient; cracked. Small creatures lived within it, sheltering themselves from the elements. Mushrooms and moss grew around the base of its roots in copious amounts.

When it felt Veth approach, bright blue light traveled up its trunk, shining through the cracks. All of the leaves went from bright green to glowing blue in a flash. The characteristic creaking of wood reverberated through the forest, in gargantuan magnitude.

Then, a voice spoke in Veth's mind. Would she have tried to determine where it came from, she'd find herself incapable of doing so. "Ah... a descendant of the elves wakes me from sleep. Welcome, child. What is thine name? What is thine business? And lastly, what tribe or master do you represent... or are you here on business of your own?"

Ellis charged his fist with static electricity, prepared to fire a bolt of lightning at Bem, but stopped when he realized she DIDN'T call him a demon-lover. His eyes widened and his brows shot up, but he lowered his hand and let the electricity fade. It took him a second to calm down and return to his indifferent expression.

He released a pained sigh when Drui tightened her hold and made the offer to Bem, but he opted to stay quiet instead.

"That's because playing is a hobby," he explained why he didn't seem like a bard with a neutral expression. "I used to make money off of it, but then I joined the Guild. Now it's something I do for fun and relaxation."

She ridiculed the idea of using thought to govern the world and Ellis nodded. "True. It's more nuanced than that. We told you the shortened version. Much like a warrior needs years to become experienced at fighting, a mage needs years of study to fully understand the workings of magic. I've already been taught in my childhood, but..." he trailed off, not finishing the thought. He shook his head and closed his mouth. "Nevermind."

Bem apologized and requested an apology in return. It hurt him; pained him not to quip back at her with some sarcastic jab. He learned to do it so readily that he almost didn't know how to properly respond. It took Ellis five seconds to gather his thoughts, but in the end, he replied: "I'm... sincerely sorry that I... said what I have." His eye twitched at the end a little and he didn't extrapolate.

Hermione "Hermy" Puckette

Hermione had just grabbed the bag of gold and was about to make her escape when the owner of the purse suddenly spun around. The Saytr froze for a second. "Well... Bye!" she attempted to run but just as she went to turn, she heard the girl shout some kind of spell and, feeling a rumble under her hooves and she felt herself being restrained by... rock? As this happened, she dropped the purse. Hermione grunted and attempted to break out of her confinement but found she was stuck. Her wine-sodden mind was taking its sweet time fully processing what had just happened.

"........WHAT THE-?" She was cut off as the girl started to berate her for attempting to steal from her. Hermione just huffed (making a sound similar to a mix between a horse's snort and a goat's bleat) in annoyance. Great... she hated it when this happened. Though this usually happened with guards, not some girl. She kept quiet as she demanded to know her name and rank so she could... report to the guildmaster? What guildmaster? She didn't belong to any guild. Once she was done, Hermione just stared for a good minute before finally beginning to speak.

"Okay, firstly its not nice to call people 'fiends' until you get to know 'em." she responded, her black horsey tail swishing behind her, "Hermione Puckette, if you really care or you're just following -hic- protocall... positions... Eh... A beautiful drifter, a good night out, eh... Keeper of wine... Braver than our beans- I'm a lot of things, sweetheart I'd be -hic- dead before I get to the end." she rambled before looking down at her wineskin, wriggling her hand a little in a futile attempt to grab it.

"Look, lovely I'd love to chat with your guildmaster. Tea, cake, the whole shebang but I have business to deal with and you have a nanny to run back to so if you could just let me go, we can kiss goodbye and never see each other again, like true lovers." God she talked a lot when drunk, the sarcasm dripping from her teeth like drool. She just watched the woman, a dumb smirk on her face. While she was not showing it, underneath it all, Hermione was... pretty anxious. If stealing from this girl was as bad as she claimed it was, this was going to get ugly.

Mentioned/Nearby: Birdsie Birdsie 's abomination(s)

Soren watched as the woman called Einherjar ran up to the mechanical thing with her sword and cut down the abominations with ease. He was thoroughly impressed and decided to do something. The thing was climbing onto a roof, and Soren did the same. Originally, he was going to jump from the roof as an attack, but now that the necrobot was up and shooting down syringes to reanimate the corpses, he had to consider his options. Attack the thing creating abominations or save the woman?

Soren made the split decision and ran up to the robot. He gave a powerful swing to attempt to swing it back down towards the woman then jumped off the building moments after onto one of the raised abominations, plunging his Scimitar deep inside it's breast and looked around to see if he had indeed knocked the necrobot down. It was a gamble, but by attempting both he would have less guilt. Soren couldn't just leave someone behind, especially not someone so strong. He wasn't about to die to that awful thing.

Ellis Birdsie Birdsie Annette Kylesar1 Kylesar1
Risa gave a light not to Emily. It didn't surprise her much at all. Ellis had shown himself to be far from the reliable type. Truth be told if she thought it was possible she would of gladly traded him over Cyrus... though she doubted he would of went willingly either way. She wasn't one to force anyone to do something against their will in the guild... at least not one in which their life was effectively forfeited. As cold as she could be, there was a limit she had, particularly with those who were members of the guild. To her it was like a family... something that replaced the one she had lost long before. Ellis was just that distant cousin no one liked but you had to drag around with you anyways and deal with. She took the notebook giving a light nod.

"He really needs to learn to not be hopeless first before he even decides to walk his own path. You can lead a horse to water, but if its not willing to drink it will do you no good. With him it seems even difficult to drag him along the path to reach the water." She spoke with a light shrug in response. "Keep up the good work. If there is any development on the mission make sure I am updated. I hope they aren't stupid enough to engage in fighting with the Death Knights. So long as the focus is on retrieving the relics and getting out there quickly we should hopefully have a high chance of success in at least foiling their plans to some extent."

Risa turned to walk away heading towards the training grounds. She gave a brief glance towards Annette before she head out towards the training grounds, ready to crack some skulls. She had to be ready for any news about the mission, but also keep alert if the death knights attempted any fishy business with them.

Auriel's dash toward the dungeon was only interrupted by the sight of a projectile flying right toward them. She was about to shout for the rest of the group to get down, until she realised that what was flying toward them was no ballista bolt, or a bomb. No, rather, it was a... Death Knight flying in the sky?

The female death-knight landed in front of her in a cloud of dust, sending dirt flying in the air. She was clad in jet-black armor, and wielded a sword and shield. The death-knight claimed that she was only after Auriel's life, and allowed the rest of the group to flee. Realising her situation, Auriel activated her seal. The seals of other members of the guild would flare up, and Auriel spoke into it. "I'm engaging a death-knight, requesting reinforcements at the dungeon." After her short request for assistance, Auriel turned her attention to the death-knight and put her right hand over the grip of her sword.

"Then, what quarrel would you have with me?" She asked the Jaeyna, grasping her grip tightly. She was fully prepared if the death-knight decided to abruptly attack her.
