Realistic or Modern ❄ Frostwater

Elizabeth and Alexander Grey

"Well enough." Eliza mumbled through her wool scarf. She learnt from yesterday's mistake and layered herself with three of the warmest clothes she could find as well as a new goose-down coat. Armored with a pair of gloves and furry boots, Eliza waddled ahead of the two.

Xander patted Saffron's head with a smile. "Don't mind her. We slept great, the mattress they use here is actually not half bad." He tucked his hands into the pockets of his jeans and walked alongside her. "I know should probably ask 'And you?', but you seem like you rested well, so I'll just save the small talk. Anyways.." Xander breathed in the cool, crisp air as the automatic glass door slid open, then stepped out into the snowy town. "What did you do after you left Hell?"

While they waited for Chris to finish serving his customer, the demon fiddled around with the salt and pepper bottles. Normally, his hands would be doing very different things when a certain someone was so close, but for some reason, he kept his hands to himself. Not long after, Phillip's incessant fiddling ended up with him taking apart the little bottles and split some of the salt. Casually, he pinched the crystals between his thumb and forefinger before tossing them over his left shoulder. It was a stupid little superstition, but he was not risking anything bad coming his way.

After a few moments, Chris piped up, recognizing the two of them. Giving him a wave, Philip warmly greeted "morning boss," before getting up and walking over to the bar. There he leaned forward against the counter with his arms supporting him, saying jokingly "We haven't had breakfast yet...so mind cooking up some food for us? Welcome employees gift maybe?" As an after thought, the incubus added in a low voice with a mischievous smirk, "I'll make it worth your while, what do you say...boss?" After the half elf's reaction from yesterday, the demon figured that he could be easily riled up... so he wanted to tease him a little. After all, it was never to early in the day to have some fun.

Theflamre Theflamre Lappi Lappi
He shivered a little bit at the hint of a lewd favor for breakfast, his shoulders rising lightly next to his head and his pale face being inglufed in a light blush. "Now now no need for any sort of... exchange" he said his opalesent eyes glancing downwards as he chose his words carefully. "If your not fed you can't work so whatcha want" he said becoming a bit more comfortable as he pushed the conversation towards food. The dwarf that was sitting on the stool in front of him looked at him incredulously, which was met by a frown from the half elf as he shooed him away towards a nearby table of his own kind making room for his two new employees.
"But you should eat fast, today is orientation day" he chimes happily. He immediately glances downward at his celler door with a wry smile.

The demon looked over his shoulder to look as Clark piped up behind him. Despite his rather relaxed tone, Philip caught something in his facial expression...as if there was a tinge of annoyance. A slight crease appeared in his forehead, the only sign of his concern. Had he done something? Said something? The incubus told himself to not worry about something that might just be his mind overreacting... but he couldn't help feel slightly uneasy. However, Chris appeared to have taken his teasing and joking well... so was it something else?

Turning away to face the half elf, Philip grinned lightly at the man's nervous and flushed reaction to his words. His lighthearted reply made the demon smile; one that was still slightly mischievous but warm. Boss was being a good sport and a fun play thing (it's a compliment, I assure you) and the incubus liked and respected that, feeling laughter bubble up from his chest and melt away the remaining tension in his body from when he woke. Normally just being in Clark's presence was enough to ease away any of his worries or dark thoughts... but not that specific morning... for very particular reasons.

As Chris shooed away the dwarf, Philip took a seat on a bar stool; swiveling in order to face Clark partially and wave him over. Turning back, he faced the half elf with a reply on his lips. In actuality, he was mostly joking about the breakfast and new employees stuff but Chris seemed to be totally fine cooking up something for them. For a moment he thought, chewing on his bottom lip before wetting it slightly as his mouth widened into a mischievous grin. "Do you mind making some pancakes and bacon, Boss?" Phillip asked with a knowing smile.

"The coffee hasn't kicked in yet..so do you mind reminding me what orientation day was again?" He added after, resting his chin on his arms that were braced against the table.

He smiled at the question as he pulled a aluminum pan originally designed for omelettes and crepes and began mixing flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. "well I'm going to give you a full tour of the facilities then I'm going to give you a basic orientation to what tasks you will be preforming ,along with the rules that you will be expected to abide by its pretty normal stuff ... I think" he said the last part as he had never worked anywhere else so how would he know. He began to get the wet ingredients ready some milk, eggs, and oil.
After he mixed them he combined them together and started mixing them vigorously after putting oil in the pan. After he got the creaminess that he was after he poured the first bit in the pan making a show of cooking it with the pan no on anything flipping it into the air and letting it slap back down into the pan bending and twisting to make the display more dramatic. "So what would you want to do first?" he asked as he started working on the bacon.

Clark was empty headed during most of this.but he did notice Phill thought into his favorite breakfast. He waited for it to be cooked before hearing some key words thrown out. He responded after some thought "Let's start with orientation. Don't want to be caught doing something on duty that you don't like. Or better yet set some ground rules"
Compared to Phill, Clark was wide awake. And ready for some breakfast. And he was also curious to see what was in the basement. I mean, last time he acted like a giddy child. So that can be taken a few ways. Clark tapped his foot on the barstool rim out of boredom and nothing to do with his body. All that caffine, and even a little waiting never goes well. Waiting for breakfast, wouldnt take too long he thought. Believe it or not, he couldn't wait to work and meet the people here.

Unlike Clark, the demon was still rather out of it because of the lack of sleep he had the previous night... that was not due to the normal reasons for an incubus to stay up into the night. Luckily, the coffee was starting to properly kick in though he still felt half dead... or a quarter dead... at least a bit dead.

"Yah, orientation sounds good. Hit us up with it, Boss." Casually, he turned his head ever so slightly so that Clark was in his line of sight, sitting by him on his own bar stool. The angel's ecstatic excitement, that could've been mostly caffeine driven, was evidently visible in his expression, his air and his body posture. Seeing him so pumped up was kind of cute... and Phillip caught himself staring and smiling goof-ily and almost lovingly at his angel. Biting the inside of his cheek to push down the smile, he turned away to focus his attention on Chris instead.

In all honesty, the only reason Phillip was there was because of Clark. After all, it wasn't like he needed money or anything. Rather it was a good pass time and offered lots of opportunities for him to be with his beloved angel... even if they would be spending every moment working. It was enough just to be able to watch over him. He'd done as much ever since he began work at the place Clark waited at and it was in no time before the two of them had formed something.. special. It started out as a heated feeling whenever they touched that the incubus called lust... but now, there was also something else. Something gentle and warm.. and always there.

At times, he found himself afraid to think of it and what it meant.

"well the ground rules aren't that hard to grasp be kind, be courteous, and work actively," he said smiling and snapping with the last bit of the sentence. "We have a small but active bar here so if you quickly attend to each new customer you will have plenty of time to do nothing and get paid for it," He said as he finished the bacon slapping it down on a plate. "A word from the wise though these people will get very drunk sometimes and if you look sorta..." he didn't want to say girly, it was a description he had been graced with too many time to grace someone else with it "Feminine they will try and come on to you or even just smack your ass, try and understand their drunk and just get them out of the bar if they have had that much, they won't remember in the morning normally,".

"So beyond that just try and do anything you wouldn't in public," He paused thinking of the time he had caught them about to go down on each other in the ally way "and maybe something you have...,". He served the two plates of freshly made pancakes and bacon to his employees pulling out a bottle of syrup and placing it between the two. "Also you should become acquainted with the building there is the fire place over there," he said pointing to the large fire place burning with all the colors of the rainbow. "It doesn't burn out so don't worry about putting it out before you leave its fine, here's the bar," he said jokingly. "And that is the door my cellar we will explore that when your done eating" he promised.

Clark is a workaholic. It's really the only reason he is there. But he enjoyed the bar setting. The people, the sights, the warm atmosphere of the fire. He was ecstatic Phill could come with him to work. To help him out, and to bond. It was were they met after all. He looked over to Phill, but saw Phill looking at him and turned away. Playing it off, though failing in his own embarrassing way.

Clark didn't need the money either. As said he was a workaholic. Clark was happy this all worked the way it did. Clark never looked for love, he was never the loving type. Never even the romantic type. But working with someone for so long really brought out the best in him, and he loves him for it. He just hopes the feeling is mutual. But trailing off in thought...
He looked back to his boss now giving him his full attention. "I can do that" he paid attention afterwards paying attention closely but losing track afterwards at the point of him mentioning drunk customers. He thought to himself 'i dont look feminine! I don't think m at least. Ah who cares. They would be drunk'
He got his head back into the game getting back into the conversation around 'do anything you would do in public' he chuckled slightly remembering last night before becoming embarrassed when he brought it up. But not visually, more of a gut turning embarrassment. At this point he started eating his bacon to take his mind off it. But was quickly interrupted by him pointing to the fire place.
After he finishes clark spoke up again "I'll get aquainted after a while. I'll start once I get finished eating. What about you Phill, catch all that?" He says before taking another bite of tasty fried bacon. He could wait to work. Though the idea of men coming onto him seemed wierd with Phill around. And Phill being hit on seems even worse to him. Phill being a Incubus and all.

The demon was just nibbling on a piece of crispy bacon when he heard his name being mentioned. Previously he had taken to blankly looking out the window as the half-elf and the angel spoke but he had indeed been paying attention even if it seemed like his mind was else where. He generally kept to idly eating his food but his lips did turn up slightly at the reference Chris made to their moment outside in the snowy alley way. Turning his head slightly, he threw Clark a slightly crooked smile between chewing his breakfast. "The coffee's kicking in so don't worry, I heard all of that. Don't worry, I won't do anything... not when people are looking anyway..." he said in a light-hearted and joking tone.

Though he obviously wouldn't do anything while working, Phillip couldn't help think that the bar would make a great hunting ground for him.. after all, many people came to the place to get food and alcohol... and most ended up leaving completely drunk and out of it. It would be so easy to seduce someone if he so wanted to and feast to his heart's content. They'd just wake up the next day, with no recollection of the previous night, thinking that they were feeling bad because of a hang over. Since it would only be a one time thing per person, the incubus could lessen the after-effect he had on their bodies. After all, he didn't want uneccessary blood on his hands.

The one thing that really bothered him was hiding it all from Clark. It wasn't like they'd officially become lovers or anything, after all they'd arrived in town as close friends and never actually confessed their affections to one another, but the feeling and the bond was still obviously there... as well as the sexual desire. Phil knew that his angel would hurt if he found out.. but it was not like he could stop feasting all together unless he wanted to die. It was the same for other demons like how some feasted on dreams while others on pure life force through killing other creatures...incubi feasted through sexual intercourse and the pleasure/ecstasy created by such an interaction.

One would think that he could just take Clark and bed him right then and there... but constant sleeping with an incubus had its side effects... the worst being death. He couldn't do that.. not to his beloved. Never. He had the ability to choose how much life force he took... but if he didn't feast from his angel, then he'd have to find another source. Lest he wanted to die.

"By the way, boss," Phillip piped up warmly, "this is some good food. Much appreciated!"

"Thank you, not many people appreciate my breakfasts they are all too hungover and grouchy when they eat breakfast here," he says smiling a happy smile. "now tell me do you have any questions about working here? I wanna cover them before we start our exploration of this beautiful place," he smiled waving his hand to gesture to the whole building dramatically. He did this on one-foot spinning around lightly on his toes, this display was ended by him tripping on to his face and getting his feet stuck against the bar putting him a humiliating position in front of his new employees.
"oww" he called out from the floor not knowing he was stuck yet before pulling against the wood only to feel pain in the back of his heels. "OWWW" he said again unsure how he was stuck and yet sure he was now, he tried to look through his legs but he was on his knees and his thighs were hard pressed against one another. "and to start with you two can learn how to pull me out when I get stuck over here" it happened more than he cared to admit. He tried stuggling again but only ended up getting his head stuck against the cabinits in the back of the bar.

Clark smiled at the display of grace that the barkeep made. That was before he tripped and his smile turned into a slight chuckle. Until he got his foot stuck and Clark took a bite of his pancakes, looked at Phill shaking his head. Then went behind the counter. Squatting down to see just how stuck he is.
Yep. That's stuck good, I'll just have to pull it out.
He thought to himself. He looked up to his boss, thinking of what to do. Clark didn't quite see it but the patrons we're looking over, confused by the situation at hand. They thought something wierd was going on. But many were too hungover to care. Besides, Clarks clothes already gave him a reputation, and to be honest, this wouldn't hurt it at this point.
Clark thought fast before this got real awkward, he didn't have much experience. So he just copied what he knew from movies. "What's 15+29?" He waited a second then yanked the foot out, curving it slightly to reduce striegn on the heel.
He wasn't perfect in execution, as he yanked it much more than pulled his foot out. Causing undue pain in the heel and other fragile joints.

He let out a sound that could only be described as a yelp, a somewhat high pitch noise with the purpose to convey pain. It might have sounded like a hurt animal in his higher pitched and somewhat feminine, he quickly rolled over grabbing his ankle and breathing deeply a few times. "Thank. you," he said trying to collect himself a little bit he looked around at the tight space he was lying in and decided to not risk getting up alone. "could you please help me up?" he asked casually, honestly he was mostly worried about getting stuck again not his ability to stand up. He could get up he was even pretty flexible due to all the hard to reach places that he cleaned when closing up for the night normally.

While everything transpired before him, the incubus did his job as a spectator well and reacted appropriately, chuckling at his boss's clumsiness ("well what a view" he had teased) and then wincing at his pain. His angel's action made the corner of his mouth turn up slightly. That was one way to get a foot unstuck. Truth be told, Philip doubted that he would've done any better had he been in Clark's position.

Casually, the demon got up from his seat and nimbly swung himself to sit on the counter of the bar. He swung his legs over, narrowly missing the various plates of their food, so that they were pointing in Clark and Chris's direction. There, he sat grinning for a moment before reaching for the half elf's out stretched hand, deciding that it was his turn to help. "Gotta be more careful, boss," he said, gripping his hand before looking over at his angel. Though he said nothing, his eyes sent a message to Clark to catch Chris in case he took a plunge again, especially with a sore foot.

"Okay, up you come," he said, bracing his free hand on the counter, "1, 2...3~!"
