Honestly, any power output you lack is made up for in the emotional damage output invoked by the concept of a Yakuza meister and their AR weapon partner. There is no coming back from that. It's like being stabbed by a heavy metal unicorn.

A shield can be terrifying in the right hands. An underrated option for decapitating foes. Great for punching and fantastic for couter attacking!

Hey, I probably should have thought of this sooner, but is there anyone here who isn't okay with themes of overstimulation? I get Soul Eater has a lot of out there themes and this is far from the most notorious, but I wanted to ask anyway just in case.
I didn't expect my idea to be taken seriously beyond a "that would be cool". However the pairs come together will be interesting and entertaining, whether it's an "I choose you" type deal or something more subconscious. Either way, hilarity will ensue.
