Putting on serious Idea for a moment, it confuses me to say "this evolved for". Evolution is a gacha of traits which TENDENTIALLY last more generations and have better chances of passing down their genes if they are useful, thus perpetuating the traits (oversimplified of course). Sadness wouldn't necessarily have to evolve directly as a beneficial, especially given we're talking about the human race which had

I’m not sure why we mourn either, In fact, I’m still mourning from a friends...passing...But, I guess I mourn because I regret treating him like an asshole the first time I met him.
