Hello, hello~
So, anyone remembers that one scene from Pokémon with the Poliwhirl waving before promptly being pounded down by a Poliwrath of far greater size? Totally unrelated to how I imagined this would go while writing it – obviously.
That aside, I’m about to step out of my personal comfort zone and go from lurking, plus the occasional reaching out to someone over PM, to a first attempt at reaching out myself – baby steps, people, confidence doesn’t grow on trees. My name is Vaudi, but I respond to most things remotely similar to my username, so feel free to come up with whatever feels right. Personally, I’ve been RPing for a good few years, but right now is really a time I’ve been craving it as a pastime after work and at the weekends. So, I’m looking for somebody with a fairly laidback - ‘not too serious’ – attitude that also possesses the attention span to potentially make a long-term partner.
Ah, and also be excited about the premise of capturing wild animals to make them fight for what basically amounts to a shiny button – or eight.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, after all that introductory nonsense I present the fact thaaaaat…
I’m really only looking for RPs within the Pokémon Fandom. Please leave your all-original RP about space-traveling high school teachers educating aliens about the wonders of basic Spanish at the door – I won’t have any of it.
At this point, I’m genuinely just hoping anybody is still reading this.
Anyway, I have a few ideas myself, so let’s get to it!
Pokémon 20XX: The Millennial Journey
We all know how Pokémon goes; starry-eyed children without parental guidance setting out into the world of Pokémon to capture wild animals and through sheer plot armor willpower ascends to the rank of Pokémon Master!
Let’s do none of that.
Instead, let’s focus on the lives of two 20ish-year-olds who didn’t go on the famed Journey™ and instead pursued an education that is going to land them a dead-end job at best. Fully aware of this fact, they decide to take a ‘gap year’ after finishing college/university and give the Journey™ a shot anyway, figuring it might lead them to fame and an easy life. It’s worth a shot, right?
For this, I imagine starting in the Kanto Region (as you do), but one more up to date with recent technology and the issues of modern life. I have a rough idea here, but it’s better to explain over PM.
The Pokémon’s Journey
Truth be told, I’m not too sure if this would lead anywhere good, but I like the premise if only for the spin on a classic tale. It’ll be your basic Journey™ traveling through Kanto, Johto, however far our collective creativity will take us, but focusing on the Pokémon as the main characters, with their trainer taking on a supporting role in the storytelling.

I mean, at one point we’ve all dreamed Pokémon could be a reality, right? I know I have. However, what would happen if this actually were the case. What if you, one day, come across an egg and decide to take it home since it looks abandoned. Fast forward and you now have a living, breathing Pokémon believing you to be their parent – what do you do? Will you come clean about it? Hide it from the public? Dress it up in a cat costume and pretend there’s nothing wrong with your Ah- Afghan Blue- Bluehair? Yes, they’re known to spit bubbles, very common.
And, that’s about it for now. I might add more ideas later – and potentially come out with a few group settings in the future if this 1x1 stuff turns out to be successful. Other than that I’d like to finish off by saying that I’m more than happy to take a look at any ideas you might have for a Pokémon RP, feel free to PM me about all things Pokémon – I’m not even kidding, really mean it.
