”I love the chase.“ - X

Her cousin, huh. Interesting. The thought didn’t stay too long, his attention was captivated by her chuckle. “I plan on getting to know other things tonight. Knowing more about you is just an added bonus,” he answered, his tone confident, his smug smile hasn’t ceased one bit. “You’re right, it’s a dance. Let’s skip formalities and just have fun tonight,” he agreed. He wasn’t looking for anything serious and learning more about her would just get him curious. He led the ballroom dance as they swayed side to side together. The music became a soft distraction until nothing but the female in front of him became his sole and only focus. Studying sounded like a person he knew but Abigail would rather caught dead than to flirt back with anyone. Plus, their hair was different.

“I’m different, that’s good news.” Xavier lived to be one of a kind. He pulled stupid stunts, he made bets he knew he would lose, and he ignored warnings because it made him feel alive. At the mention of his name, Xavier took a moment to contemplate on it. “What is the fun if I give you my name right away? The joy of this little dance party is to guess who caught your attention,” he winked, using the same lines back at her.

“If you let me take off your mask, I’ll tell you my name,” the male bargained at the end.

Xavier brought his arms tighter around her waist, pulling her in towards him. Chest to chest, forehead to forehead. “For tonight, don’t think about consequences. Live the night, Amy. Live for the moment. I promise it won’t be dull.” His sultry voice was laced with hidden foreshadowing of what to come.

Maybe it was the music or maybe it was adrenaline. Maybe it was her intoxicating scent or the residual alcohol but Xavier did the unexpected. He led her away from the crowd, their footsteps slowed down as he gazed nowhere but into the stormy azure orbs. Soon they drifted from the middle of the room to the corner where Xavier towered over her in height. He blocked the entire scene with his body. “Don’t think. Just breathe, beautiful.” His head slowly dipped to the side of her neck as if everything was in slow motion. His tongue reached out to have one taste before he lightly sucked on the pale ivory skin ending it with one lingering kiss.

“I have to say, you taste a lot lovelier than those crab cakes,” he pulled back slightly with a chuckle. “Believe me when I say this, you will experience something different by the end of the night.”

And a Lefebvre never lies.

"Code names it is," she laughed, finding it amusing to think that the stranger believed he'd remain unknown even after the Ball. She would, considering the amount of blondes in the Academy but him? There were few in the school with tattoos lining their hands and neck and Vivienne was almost certain there were more, hidden by his dress shirt. Should she need to, she could find him with ease but a new connection wasn't what she was seeking. She just wanted a night of fun.

His breath, more than his lips, tickled her ear, bringing a pleasant shiver down her spine. Her smile was slow and drawling but there was a sureness in her eyes; a look which dared him to try her. With her hands firmly in his, she lead him off the dance floor and towards the said classroom. At this time, all the students were probably back in their dorms or having the time of their lives on the ballroom. The classrooms were all but deserted, making their crime as easy as stealing candy from a baby.

Sliding the door opened, she pointed at the two boxes on the nearby tables. Giddy from the adrenaline of what she was going to do. Their masquerade masks felt more like criminal covers than an accessory for a ball. Somehow, Vivienne didn't seem to mind it.

Crossing the classroom, she opened the boxes and was pleased to see a wide assortment of different fireworks. There were about a hundred poppers, fifty sparklers, ten ground spinners, five fountains and most grand of a separate box of good ol fashion rocket set fireworks; the last being the hard hitters meant to be shot up in the air. Surely they were going to avoid that box lest they plan to blow up the school's gymnasium.

Nabbing a handful of sparklers, spinners and fountains, Vivienne quietly cursed at not having a bag at hand. Improvisation would just have to be made. "Take off your blazer," she told the stranger, planning to use his coat as a makeshift carrier. "No innuendos," she corrected, hard smile on her face.

They didn't talk about the code names, which in Adams mind was alright, instead they focused on heading to the classroom. He held her hand tightly allowing her to take the lead off the ballroom floor. They zigged and zagged through the crowd, hardly anyone batting an eye at the direction of the schools hallways being the destination. Perhaps this was going to be easier then Adam thought. Typical snob school, thinking they had the students that wouldn't do anything to cause trouble.

Didn't they know that the school like this was what breed the pranksters of the world? The dicks that tried to push there thoughts on others? But that wouldn't work in the mindset but it was going to work well for the heist that the teens were doing at that moment.

It didn't take as long as Adam had first thought before they arrived at the destination that had the goods they needed so badly. he looked around the room for a moment before seeing the crate the beautiful blonde pointed out. Following close behind he opened the lid to see the goodies tucked away till they would be needed later that evening.

"Tch, teachers really dumb for not putting some kind of lock on these." Adam commented picking up a few of them, carefully and reading the warning labels briefly. The blonde beside him seemed to know what she wanted, the less flammable ones--the ones that wouldn't destroy the whole ballroom if not properly set off. Well, that wasn't exactly what Adam had in mind.

Hearing her comment his eyebrow rose up into his tousled hair and he smirked. "Course not. No time for anything like that." he teased lightly before doing as she asked. Normally he liked to be in charge but the blonde was right. They didn't have a bag and getting the fireworks into the ballroom was going to be tricky as it was. Handing her the coat he went digging a bit more taking one of the big ones and handing it to her.

"Shush, I won't set it off in the ballroom. Not yet anyways, we will see how this goes." A low chuckle left his lips before he dug in his pockets, looking for something. "When you have what we need, I have a lighter." he held up his cigarette lighter briefly. "Where would be the best place to set off each of the fireworks." he paused looking to the door, swearing he heard some kind of movement. "I don't know the school as well as I like to pretend." he admitted lowering his voice. Moving a little closer to her, he put his back towards the door dragging her closer to him as he heard the footsteps stop at the door.

Taking one large hand he placed it against her lips, a way to make her not say anything.

Luckily, the steps withdrew hurrying back to the party laughing erupting from the person who almost caught them.
"We could get in a lot of trouble for this, you ready to get a lot of teachers on your back?' he asked one last time. "If so lead the way."

Aivree Lanzone
Aivree was becoming drunker and drunker with every passing moment spent in the arms of the handsome stranger as they danced around the ballroom. Couples stared into the eyes of the ones they cared or lusted for the most, the world around them seemed to be frozen or uncaring about the history that was being made in the lives of these teenagers. This was just that, history, even if the two of them didn't know it. Aivree's feet hardly felt like they where touching the ground, she watched up at the tall man that Aivree was finding it harder ad harder to think straight about.

If this was, in fact, Xavier then this wasn't going to end well for her. The moment the mask was off, like he deemed would happen among other things being taken, she was going to either have her heart broken or lose her best friend.
But those thoughts didn't linger nearly as close to the surface as they truly should have been.

Aivree was drunk. Drunk of the few shots she took in secret before arriving to the dance and but more so drunk off the feeling of being so special in someones eyes that they didn't even notice the other, more attractive (a lot taller) girls in the room.

"So let me get this straight." Aivree started dancing with the man closely, while tilting her head to the side, indicating she had a very valid point coming his way. "You get to know my name, but I don't get to know yours. I find that oddly unfair." But that special glint, using her own words against her, had her knowing full well this wasn't going to happen. Sighing in defeat she just gave him a wink. "You may just have to rip the mask off before seeing anything under it. Might be a man under here, what would you do then?" It was a tease of course, no man lingered under this dress, just a slightly tipsy art major having a good time living a fantasy without anyone ever knowing what was going on.
We;ll, Vee might but she had yet to see her friend on the dance floor with Hunter or any other male. But her sights weren't really depending on anything or any man but the one who had her trapped in a game of cat and mouse.

Unofficially, the cat was winning the rounds.

Aivree lived the moment, she went to parties she yelled at people who needed to be taught a thing or two and she stood up for what she believed in. But living in the moment, when it came to romantic situations? That was the one part of her life that she stayed from the moment, crawling back into the little girl she was, thinking about the parents she had, not being wanted--that was not something she was good at.

But this guy, he knew how to get her to want to do just that. Live in this moment, have the good feelings, regret everything when she woke up the next morning.

Aivree wasn't sure what was going to happen or how he had gotten her to walk off the dance floor without bumping into any of the other dancers. Unless they had and she just didn't give a fuck about it. That sounded more like the Aivree she was, and before long she found herself in a corner, her back pressed against the cold wall with the cat staring at back at her waiting to take whatever taste or touch he wanted.

'Don't think. Just breathe, beautiful.'

His words had Aivree's stomach flipping over itself. It was easier said then done. Her mind went a hundred miles a minute the moment he moved so close that her back was pressed firmly against the wall and his chest firmly against her own. Unable to draw in a needed breath his lips came in contact with her neck, she extended it upward letting a soft mewing sound from her lips of surprise. His lips lingered longer then she had first anticipated, never had these feeling shot up and down her spine all the way down to her toes that curled.

When he drew his head again she watched in anticipation and fear for what could happen. The look of determination, of need stirred in his cool eyes. They where alone, others wouldn't notice if they disappeared. The red lights in her mind went off, warning her that it was a bad idea.

"Bring it on. But I dare you to do it while we keep the masks on." she whispered into his ear going on her tiptoes, pressing her full body into him. "That's the thrill right? The unknown, something we both have never done before." Aivree never knew that the sultry voice was coming from her. It was almost like another person entirely was taking over. It frightened her; but not enough to stop.

Vivienne couldn't help but agree with Adam's comment at the lack of teachers--or students--supervising the goods they were currently nicking. They were overconfident, sure that the students would be too busy drunk, partying or otherwise to even dare venture into the classrooms at night. There few in the committee who knew where the fireworks were kept and it was only because the blonde had her influences around the school that she had managed to pick up the juicy bit of info. It didn't seem necessary and she certainly hadn't planned to cause any trouble... until now.

Taking the blazer from the stranger, she bundled up the fireworks and tied the sleeves together, forming a make-shift handle. The bigger fireworks were left behind. Daring as she is, even Vivienne knew when to draw the line. She lived her life balancing on a tightrope, never doing anything big enough for her father to hear wind of things. The last thing she wanted was getting her parents involved in her schemes.

Hearing the man's words made her brows knit in short-lived concern. "Let's try not to burn down the gym now shall we?" Vivienne mused, eyes lighting up the at lighter. Now they had the perfect tool to light the fireworks up. "I know a place. The back courtyard. It's usually deserted there but there's a nice hill down the back. We could lit them th---"

Her words were cut off by a finger and she was surprised to hear footsteps and drunk chattering in the corridors. The sounds faded and when they did, Vivienne peeked her head out at the door, checking to see if the coast was clear. She was not too worried about getting caught (at this stage anyways), trusting in her ability to charm and lie her way out of the situation.

She turned, placing a hand on her hip as she answered with confident laughter in her voice, "We'll only get in trouble if we're caught." There was a smug grin on her face as she tossed the blazer full of fireworks over to Adam. Over her shoulder as she exited her classroom, she added, words sly, "And I never get caught."

She lead the way back into the ballroom as inconspicuous as they came in. Taking a handful of sparklers, she turned to Adam, excitement visible in her dark azure eyes. "Light them up," she murmured. They stood in the corner of the room, hidden by crowds of heated bodies. The night was still young and now, it was about to get lit.

“Blowing the roof off would be just the thing to have my ass kicked out of this school. Perhaps out of school permanently.” Adam spoke in a low voice still hearing the drunken laughs of the intruders (other than themselves). Once he was sure the group was gone he relaxed a bit. Turning his full attention to the blonde women watching her, listening to her speak.

Over confident women where something that Adam normally didn’t have time for. Bringing them down a few steps was something he enjoyed doing his old school. Getting girls all riled up, breaking hearts. It was what he did, mostly when he was sixteen. Now though, he just wanted to get out of the school system. Cause the trouble he could, get a laugh in. He was going to graduate this year. That was what he was told anyways.

He would have to see if it would really happen he supposed. He stole money, no one caught him. How much could he get away with and not get any sort of punishment?
He would have to see and find out.

“Getting caught though,” He leaned in a bit. “Or almost getting caught is the adrenaline rush I want.” With one last chuckle the two of them left the classroom the goodies in hand. It was easier to get back to the main ballroom, and the area that the Vixen had spoken about moments before. He took a glance around the room before he was sure that no one was looking too closely at him.

At her words he already had his lighter ready to get the sparklers to give all the glory to the room. “Run fast and hand them out to people.” he spoke looking to her his dark eyes watching to make sure she understood. “We can’t have all the fun.” With one last word spoken he had the sparklers in her hands lit.

With her done he hurried to light his own the sparkle and heat radiating off the sticks of fire. The commotion from the people around them already had people murmuring.

With is lighter tucked into his pocket Adam weaved in and out of the groups people were surprised, he even heard some dumb girl scream but most of the commotion was excitement. Especially when the duo started to hand them out.

Adam chose random people, the ones who were not completely paying attention to what was really going on or just to break up some kind of love affair. Adam was an ass, he liked to cause the trouble he could.

What was once plain sticks of rolled up paper, alighted, became candles with bursting colors as its flickering flames. Sparklers, in its own metaphoric way, reminded Vivienne a bit of the girl she had transformed earlier that evening. With a knowing smile, the blonde wondered how she was doing now. Her eyes darted momentarily through the crowd, in an attempt to spy the girl she had transformed that night. The concourse and dim lighting, more than the masquerade masks, made her brief search fruitless. Sighing, she could only hope that her friend was having as much fun as she was.

It seemed the stranger had the same thoughts as she did--or well mostly anyways. She was concerned about his earlier statement. She had never known anyone who wanted to get suspended so badly, especially from a prestigious academy such as Arlington. There were many who would kill to be in his shoes and here he was, attempting to destroy what was given to him in a struggle for freedom, for rebellion.

The thought of it sent a shiver down Vivienne's spine and to her greatest horror, it wasn't entirely unpleasant.

She nodded, grinning weakly as they parted ways, running through the masses and avoiding the alarmed shouts from the teachers nearby. An ensemble of laughter and surprised squeals mingled with the music played in the Ballroom. The sparklers cackle as they were passed from hand to hand. Most students had taken them in their shock, believing it to be all part of the plan. Some oohed and ahhed while others screamed. One girl almost burned her dress.

As the sparklers in her hands emptied, she made round back to the corner her accomplice had been. Breathless, Vivienne had barely managed to dodge a grab from the teacher, running in her heels to lose herself in the crowd. Across the room, she could hear the same shouts, calling for the stranger.

'Don't get caught.' she thought to herself, as she rounded to safety. She had hid the blazer filled with fireworks in the corner, behind one of the refreshment tables. Grabbing some spinners and fountains, the blonde waited for the stranger to come back, catching her breath as she did so. If he didn't, she'd simply have to nab the rest of the fireworks herself.

To her surprise, the male had came back without anyone on his heel. Tilting her head, she laid a hand on the man's chest in a congratulatory pat.

"Looks like you did alright," she said with a relieved smirk, "And here I was thinking you weren't going to make it." Her tease was light as she made him open his hand, putting two spinners in his palm. "You ready for round two?"

”I’m dancing on your heartbeat.“ - X

Xavier was the King of Fuck Ups. Bad Ideas. Dangerous Games. And this night was going to take the trophy. He was so drunk, so intoxicated that he hasn’t realized that his usual self didn’t do this. He played games but he didn’t fuck around, that was Hunter’s specialty. His area of domination and Xavier usually stayed the hell out of it. His eyes lingered at those luscious plumped red lips as they moved to give him a command. Commands from females were sexy as hell when they sounded like they were high on sex and dopamine. “Is that a dare? To me? You know me better than I thought.” His eyes flickered to the her black intricate design mask covering the female hidden underneath. He was dying to know. He was dying to rip it away from her face. Damn the consequences. Damn it all.

But he didn’t. The dare kicked in and he loved it. The excitement of not knowing overwhelmed the curiosity of knowing and that was all that counted at this moment.

“You know beautiful? For you? Anything. Considered it done.” The heat was swimming between them, dancing in the air. Each inhalation was longer and deeper than before as the sexual tension screamed to be broken. “My room then? Or yours?” If this was music, she would be his melody. If this was the tempo, he was dancing to her beat. Their hearts were in sync as this moment felt so timeless.

Those eyes were more than just daring him to do something now. Show me what I’m missing, they called out, glistening with innocence, hope, and passion. It’s just one night. Xavier can forget about consequences. A Lefebvre never cared but sexual conquests wasn’t his domain and it felt wrong. Yet this felt right. Why?

He was the first to break away from their eye contact. “How much are you willing to risk with me? Everything?” Not waiting for a yes or a no, Xavier pressed his lips against hers. Their passion ignited with rapid breathing as Xavier pressed his body closed against her. She was between him and the wall, and he used it as leverage to lift her up high, allowing legs to wrap around his albeit with slight difficulty due to the ball gown. But it didn’t hinder the male one bit. She was light in his arms and now their height were matching up making it a lot easier to have access to her mouth. He angle his head to take more in, his tongue requesting for entrance, slow and steady as if it was their very first kiss. An innocuous one at most. For now.

But then he deepened the kiss and now their dance was taking place elsewhere. Lust blurred the lines between right and wrong. He spun them both around with her legs tightly around his hips where she was pressing him against the wall. He held her tight, loving the feel of flesh against flesh. His hand roamed up grasping onto the zipper before slowly tugging it downwards before a smile fell onto his lips from the sudden realization.

“I almost broke my words. This dress is a devil in disguise.” he said releasing the zipper with a teasing smirk. He took a step back, finally releasing the intoxication that clouded his judgment. He repeated the same words from earlier with a much more serious tone this time around.

“You have the key to this night. What do you want to do? I’m all yours. If you want me.”

(Omg, I didn’t want to get a warning and I don’t now how far I can go on RPN. LOL So I kept this as pg pg pg as possible.)

Perhaps it had almost been a close call. Running through a crowded ballroom, the dresses made of sparkles and billowing skirts interfering with anyone's ability to make a fast get away. Not to mention having a sparkler held tightly in his hands. It was a fire hazard on some kind of scale. But a fire hazard the teenagers seemed to enjoy on some level.

The commotion and adrenaline of having teachers trying to catch Adam as he moved gracefully through the crowd was just what the evening needed. Handing out something fun for the night to be remembered other then just another preppy dance filled with booze and make out sessions. Instead it was now a session of light, beauty and perhaps getting burned. On more then one level was that the truth wasn't it.

After hiding for only a moment to allow a group of teachers make way in the opposite direction that Adam was going he finally made his way back to the meeting place. He wondered partly how his Vixen had made out with her part, if she had gotten caught. Seeing her standing cautiously looking around the floor the commotion much louder then it had been moments before, she seemed to have done her part with flying colours.

He welcomed the pat on his chest his mad hatter like grin on his face. "Course, while I want to get caught its the rush of almost getting caught." he spoke looking out to the floor once more. "Might be fun the next round the teachers may be onto us shortly." he whispered in a low voice. "But I'm always ready." he quickly added tightening his grip around the two spinners.

"You carry one and I'll do the other. Opposite sides of the ballroom floor. Once you light it step back so they can't pinpoint who was the one to light it." he instructed. "Here, I found another lighter in my pocket." he searched briefly in his trouser pockets before handing her his other one. "Do enjoy the show." he grinned before heading off with his spinner in his hand. He walked to his position choosing not to far from the wall before planting the spinner on the ground.

Taking one last look around he light the spinner, the sparks roaring to life before the group of people around started to cry in fear, excitement and scatter. He moved quickly to the wall as the splash of fire filled colours erupted.

What he didn't realize was he had back right into a pretty hot and heavy couple causing the small female to look at him with a glare. "Sorry, do enjoy the show. Don't forget protection." He added in elbowing the mail with a knowing grin before moving away from them.

Aivree Lanzone

The tension, the sexual tension seeped in the small corner where Aivree and her stranger had stayed and lingered in the air like a type of poison that took away all normal thinking. Aivree wasn't like this. She was frightened of intimacy, frightened of allowing anyone close to her heart, close to her in any kind of way. It was why she never told Xavier how she felt. While she knew if she told him he would leave her for sure, the friendship would be gone forever.

Aivree couldn't have that so she had built a wall around her heart for good measure. Never to give it to anyone unless somehow they earned it.

This man, the one behind the mask, hadn't earned it. Yet Aviree knew from the looks the little dares and the way he spoke--this was Xavier. The very guy she knew she could never have, kissing her neck, whispering sweet nothings to her. Giving intoxicated looks of desire her ways, his eyes swimming with a primal need. A want.

But it wasn't like he knew it was his best friend. If he did? That very look would wash away.

A breath of relief left Aivree's lungs upon hearing the stranger before her agree to her conditions. With the masks on at least the identity of each other would be safe. No one would get hurt. Not truly.

What was she thinking? Course someone would get hurt.

She would get hurt.

Why was this a good idea? This was a terrible idea, and if she played along it was going to just get worse.

Fear started to bubble up in Aivree's chest, his words only made it worse.

'How much are you willing to risk with me? Everything'

Aivree had no time to say anything. His lips captured hers with a savage lust that had her feelings of fear seem to melt and form back to its lustful state. His grip tightened on her arms and waist. Before Aivree knew it, her hands moved up to his tossled hair getting lost in his black locks. She heeded to him, allowing access to her she had never let anyone into before.

Only a small sound of surprise left her lips when he switched the position, her legs straddling his sides while she pressed him against the cold stone wall of the ballroom. No one mattered but the man before her, she clutched her legs tighter around him hoping to keep herself from falling. Breathing wasn't an option. If she took a breath the person inside, the one flashing the red light, calling this a bad idea would win and she would run.

And Aivree didn't want to run. Not yet.

Every touch made was burned into Aivree's mind, his hands on her hips trailing her spine stopping at the same place as before. Her zipper but this time he started to push it down. That caused the alarm to go but it wasn't she who pulled back first. It was him. Slowly she was placed back on the ground allowing her to catch her breath she a hand up to her chest, watching him closely only slightly hearing his words.

He was giving her the choice. The choice to make the night worth while.

'My room then? Or yours?'

The words from before hit her dead in the chest.

If they went back to her room, it would be over. And his? Well, that wouldn't do either.

Walking up to him she took his hand gently, admiring how large and protective they where. He always was there for her. Like the big brother she never had, if this was truly Xav, he would be the one she would want to do this with. But...like this?

The sudden moment she was about to say something was broken like w hip cracking against the air. A giant man walked into the both of them giving him a sly grin.

'Sorry, do enjoy the show.' He flashed a knowing smile while seeming to wink at Xav. 'Remember protection'

That was it. Aivree couldn't do it.

"I'm sorry I can't do this." Tears streamed in her eyes. "I'll never be anything more to you..I can't do anything with knowing that." With the words choked out she turned running into the crowd as fast as her feet could carry her in heels. She had to find Vee. She had to tell her what was going on, what she almost had done.

She needed her friend.

The grin on his face matched hers on all levels of crazed euphoria. His ever present readiness to do sparked a welcomed and exciting feeling of danger which Vivienne could not help but find extremely attractive. She was a gambler and he was a risk-taker. The two together were a recipe for disaster and yet, Vivienne couldn't help but feel concern at the mention of being caught.

Taking the lighter given, she nodded as she watched him part from her, stopping him in mid step by taking his hand in her small ones. "Don't get caught," she told him, words hushed as sapphire locked on emeralds. She offered him a wry smile before she turned and slinked her way into the crowd of heated bodies.

Finding a semi-open area, Vivienne set the fountain down, taking mind to hide the set up by hunching her body over the conspicuous firework. She lit it immediately once it was up and stepped back quickly, hiding in the mass of loud squeals and exaggerated awes. Fireworks shot up and light streamed down in an umbrella-like shape, living up to its name "fountain".

It was truly beautiful and the unexpectedness only made the astonished crowd crave for more. The teachers were a different story.

On the other side of the room, Vivienne could see flashes of color near the floor. She beamed with pride, making her way towards the center of the ballroom to meet her accomplice halfway. Laughter was bit back as the incredulity of her actions were slowly starting to hit her.

Heck. She was doing this fully sober and yet, Vivienne had never felt so drunk on happiness.

Little did she know, that while the blonde was having the time of her life, her dear friend was going through just the opposite.

The playful nature between never ceased but he could sense the hesitation in her eyes. Her notable features was ridden with lust yet uncertainty still lingered behind the mask. Given the choice, she didn’t answer right away which only made Xavier more than glad that he took stepped back. He didn’t want to ruin a night for anyone and he didn’t want to push. When the stranger seemed to finally found her voice, they were rudely interrupted by another male who broke the trance for absolutely no reason. “Fuck off,” Xavier retorted, his eyes glaring with irritation but the other guy brushed it off before walking off. His attention returned to the teary raven head…Why was she tearing up? He took a step back, baffled at the sight and just like that, all the fake romance between them disappeared into thin air. Broken and shattered, the female struggled to say words that made absolutely no sense.

“Did I do something wrong? Hey, are you okay?” His frown deepened the creases on his forehead.

He just met her. Of course, she would never be anything more. Scratch that, no one would ever be anything more. While Xavier wasn’t as keen on being sexually active as his best friend, he didn’t do relationships. His passion for dance took up his whole life and no one could take its place. Before he could hold her still to ask her to explain, she pulled a Cinderella running away leaving confusing last words instead of a shoe. He wasn’t used to rejection and how sudden it came cooled down any desires he had for the evening.

Xavier shook it off as if nothing happened. The earlier chemistry was just rampant hormones after all. It was too bad he couldn’t find Aivree at the dance or else they could probably sit down and laugh at the ridiculous nature of it all. Pulling out his phone, Xavier checked the time as he walked towards the food section. While his goal was a bust, at least the food was still fucking good. Pouring himself a glass of spiked punch and snatching up an empty plate, Xavier still had a gut feeling that something was off. He gulped down his drink all at once just before putting coconut shrimp and finger sandwiches on his plate. Leaning against the wall observing the dance with a mouth full of food, the male wondered if Hunter and Vee were having a better night.

Even Adam had to agree the fountain fireworks, shooting up from the ground causing a panic and a type of awe in all the students around. People still thought it was all part of the celebration. Well, except for the teachers. They still seemed to be hunting both Adam himself and the Vixen that was his accomplice.

'Don't get caught'

Her words mingled in his mind, her gaze locked with his. It was odd to have someone care if he got caught. No one normally did, then again he normally did these kinds of things alone. More then one person would just cause problems. If he got caught, he wouldn't want to give a blame to someone who had a future. He didn't. He had come to terms with that reality.

Adam was graduating to nothing, probably a life of trouble. He did stupid things. he stole, he cheated--only thing he didn't do was resort to to much violence. But that was soon to happen, he had a temper and keeping it under control wasn't something he was good at.

With the last of the fireworks lit, Adam found his way towards the same meeting place. Hoping to see the blonde join him, he might not have cared to get caught but she certainly didn't want to get caught from the look in her eyes. A rush of adrenaline the girl craved, excitement. But trouble to the degree of getting in to much trouble? He saw that. Her words were lined with that worry. In a way, he liked it.

If you could like someone from just a few hours of being in the company of a complete stranger. He didn't even know her name.

But seeing her in the middle of the room, a large beaming smile upon her lips, well she was beautiful.

"You didn't get caught. Shame, I didn't either." He said in a gruff tone, but it was mostly meant to be a joke. Taking a hand he put it on her shoulder the other under her chin drawing face to look up at him. "I hadn't expected to enjoy myself tonight. I should thank you." he spoke watching her closely. Adam was a grouch. He was an old man residing in a younger mans body--but he knew how to be somewhat of a gentlemen. At least when it counted.

Now would have been the time, ask her to dance.

But when he was going to. A small dark haired girl interrupted. He frowned looking to the girl a little closely. Was that one of the pair of face suckers he disturbed earlier? From the worry in her face, things hadn't gone well. He smirked slightly before pulling back from the girl. He listened before sighing, and with a roll of his eyes he decided to leave.

"Girl Talk? Tch, I'm out. See you around." he spoke before a glint shone in his eyes. "Vee." he knew her name, at least a bit of it. With one last glance he started back into the crowd going back towards the relatively good food. He wasn't sure what else to do. He had one last sparkler in his pocket. Leaning against the wall he lit it, watching the sparks dance and shine. He was a pyro he suspected.

"Here." he suddenly spoke seeing a down in the dumps mail, seeming a bit down. "Wait, are you the guy from before?" Adam spoke tilting his head to the side. "Struck out didn't you." He hardly was able to keep in the snort.

Aivree Lanzone

Aviree rushed away from Xavier. Trying her best to hold back her tears. Tears where for sissies, Aivree was a strong willed women who shouldn't be feeling like this. She didn't like feelings. Shoving them down and ignoring them was a lot easier. You never had to think about anything you just enjoyed what you liked.

This exact moment, the feelings she hid from her best friend, that was the reason why she did everything and never told anyone.

But she screwed it up.

Caught the feelings to hard, kissed him felt his body close to hers. The worst part. She liked it, she liked it to much and desperately wanted to be there with him and no one else. But that wasn't going to happen, not till he grew up a bit more probably. If ever. Why was she even kidding herself? That would never happen and like she had thought a million times.

Xavier was to close a friend and if they dated and they didn't last? She didn't want to lose him.

Running from him, desperately getting pushed and shoved by the sudden excitement that seemed to have steamed while the two of them had been 'enjoying each others company', Aivree only stopped for a moment to enjoy the colours and excitement before she started off in her run. Nearly tripping once again Aivree stopped only for a second to take off her shoes and clenched them tightly in her sweating hands. How could she had done this stupid thing?

At least she came to her senses before anything else happened.

In a way she should thank the tattooed stranger. He was the one who snapped her completely out of her erotic trance with Xav. While Xav might have not been feeling the same way, he would have thanked him too if he had found out who she was before everything fell more intimate. No clothes, it would have been a disaster.

Panting Aivree looked around the room, desperately looking for her blonde friend, luckily for her she knew what Vee was wearing. Having gone shopping together would make this whole ordeal a little better. Or at least, she thought it would. With the fireworks commotion it seemed everyone was running around, shrieking with excitement and fright. It was a type of chaos that she would have figured Hunter or Xav to have caused. But that wasn't what happened, at least on Xav's part. Hunter on the other hand, he could have. Doubtful though, he was supposed to be on his best behavior for Vee after all.

"I shouldn't bother her..." Aivree whispered to no one but herself. If she was having a good time with Hunter what would that mean? What kind of friend messed that up.

She stopped in her tracks peering at the crowd one last time, if she didn't spot Vee in that moment she would just go back to the dorms and go to bed. No sense in lingering.

Whatever God seemed to be watching must have laughed when Aivree's eyes landed on a blonde smiling and laughing with a taller man. But it wasn't Hunter. It was a different man, covered in tattoos with no over coat on.

The one who seemed to be who ruined the moment.

Taking a deep breath she walked towards them patting Vees shoulder looking at her while biting her bottom lip. "Vee...Can I talk with you? Something happened." she mumbled looking around the room then to the man who sighed heavily.

"Girl talk? Tch, I''m out. Well, I'll see you around." He gave a light smirk and a knowing look to her blonde friend. "Vee." he repeated the name and Aivree realized she might have given her name away. Shit.

"I'm sorry I just...Come on lets go somewhere less crowded." she mumbled taking her hand and started to walk out towards an area that contained less bodies. After a moment, taking a breath she turned to face Vee.

"I made out with Xavier. We almost...You know." she muttered. "I panicked though! I knew who he was but he had no idea who I was!"

”I'm breathing with adrenaline.“ - X

It felt truly ironic when he watched people make out and felt a twinge of revulsion even though he was doing the same thing a few moments ago. He didn’t know why but unlike some asshole, he wasn’t going to go up and interrupt. It took guts but it was dumb at the same time. His legs were crossed at the ankle, he casually became an observer, wondering how the hell people were holding sparklers. Was this some kind of end of the dance event and if so, where is his damn sparkler? Xavier was confident that whoever did this was definitely not a faculty member and lucky him, the culprit was standing in front of him.

The tattoos lined up everywhere, covering his neck to some peeking out from his sleeves. His aura was already doing all the speaking and Xavier didn’t have to think to recognize that it was the male from earlier. “Cool, thanks,” he took the sparkler from the dude. If this was his way of apologizing for earlier, it was working because Xavier always loved a little spark in life. “Where the hell did you get these?” he asked before the male made his comment.

He raised an eyebrow, looking at the stranger, more amused than anything before chuckling out loud. “Struck out? You made it seem like I was playing baseball. What made you think I struck out? Because I’m not fucking anyone tonight?” he asked, twirling the sparkler in the air before catching it. It was a dangerous move but that was Xavier. A male who didn’t care if he might start a fire in the building. “Do I look like I give a shit?” A smirk graced his features. “It was just some girl. She ran off crying,” Xavier shrugged keeping the whole story vague. He wasn’t really sure what happened anyways. One moment it was like a fairy tail and the next, she left him stranded. He would be lying if he said rejection didn’t sting like hell but at the same time, what did it matter if it was only going to be a one night stand? No more, no less. No one had ever managed to break down his walls and he wasn’t planning to pursue a stranger no less.

“Well fuck that, I’m not letting one mishap bring me down.” Xavier pushed himself away from the wall, tossing the plates into the trashcan. With the sparkler almost running out of fire, he turned to Adam, a grin filled with mischief. “So where did you get these motherfuckers? Let’s end the night with a bang.”

It was a terrible idea.

Fighting fire with fire.

A troublemaker meeting his match.

The war was on and one could only pray that there were no casualties by the end of the night.

Adam leaned back against the wall beside the man, he seemed to have his spirits brought up with the new sparkler in his hands. A childish grin plastered on his ae as he through the hot fire around like it was nothing. A move Adam himself would have pulled. In that moment he earned points with Adam, a feet not many people did on the first meeting. But his words had Adam laugh outright shaking his head. "Well, yeah. You where pretty hot and heavy for that little burnette. From what I saw when I ran into the to of you. And not having a companion in the bedroom after that is striking out. Unless you have a fancy new term for it." Adam shrugged his shoulders watching the sparklers start to diminish in there strength of light.

They had been fun, and Adam was considering going to find a few more and throw them at people, mostly teachers, but thought his partner was busy doing annoying crying girl talk.

Whatever.

"Girls who cry before sex aren't worth it. Unless she knew who you where I bet she had got sober and realized what was going on." Adam said in a low voice. "You dodged a bullet. Now, those sparklers I got in one of the back classrooms." He gave a devilish smile hearing the mans words sparked the adreniline inside him. "Maybe I'll go home with you if you keep talking like that." his laugh was low but he stood to his feet.

"My partner in crime is busy at the moment, while you aren't as pretty as she was I'll take another hand." Turning his back on Xavier he looked over his shoulder. "I hope what you have in mind is the same as what I had in mind before. Follow me." Adam spoke starting to walk not looking behind to see if the other guy was following. If he chickened out? Fine, he would let the dance go out with a bang on his own.

Doing things alone was what Adam was used too, it was what he prefered.

But this night was different, it was about going out of your comfort zone right? Well, this was something different for sure.

He walked out of the gynasium the same way as before seeing that the classroom was now being watched. "Shit." He growled stopping his companion. "We may need a distraction, you any good at that?" Adam asked looking to Xavier.

Like a star amidst the dark bodies mingling on the dance floor, Vivienne was beaming. She turned when she heard the now-familiar gruff voice, grinning as she rolled her eyes at his words. Her arms cross over her chest, her posture cocky and confident. "I never get caught," she answered, chin jutting out in proud defiance. "And I hope you don't either. Having an accomplice now and then isn't too bad."

Her eyes met the stranger's and even with the masquerade mask hiding his visage, Vivienne could tell her had pretty eyes. She was somewhat surprised to see such large, ink-covered hands touch her so gently, as though she was a glass bird and she would crumble if he touched her any harder. He could kiss her, Vivienne thought, noting the way their heads were tilted and their bodies only a hand's width apart. Somehow, Vivienne didn't feel troubled at that idea.

Before she could do anything, she felt a tap on her other shoulder. Her attention turned to the sound of Aivree's voice, low and troubled. It anchored Vivienne's euphoric mood, tugging her high down with strings of concern and worry. Her smile faded as she turned her body towards the smaller brunette.

"Of course you can, baby," Vivienne answered, touching her arm gently. Pet names were signs of endearment and Vivienne never used them to people she wasn't close to. She waited for Aivree to speak; the stranger cut their silence off with a scoff and he walked off. Her nickname fell from his lips in his smirk and the blonde found herself gasping softly in alarm. When did he? A knife of dread twisted in her gut. If he found out who she was, would he rat her out? No, he couldn't. He has no proof even if he wanted to, but just to be safe... Vivienne needed an alibi.

She was still slightly stunned when Aivree asked to go elsewhere to talk. She nodded absent-mindedly, eyes following the stranger's back before he was swallowed up by the crowd. The two girls went towards the side of the room, away from the pounding speakers. It was easier to talk but the quieter, empty space meant there were others who were enjoying the area nearby as well. Luckily for them, it was mostly couples, unable to keep their hands off their partners and too busy to take notice of the duo.

Her eyes searched for unspoken answers on Aivree's conflicted features but Vivienne couldn't think of anything which could make her friend look so distress. Had her heel broke? Her dress torn? Everything looked perfect, except maybe the lipstick smudges and the flush of color down her neck; Vivienne had assumed it was just the alcohol.

Things clicked at Aivree's confession. Her eyes widened briefly before she took one of Aivree's hands in hers sympathetically. She sandwiched it with her other palm, patting the top of Aivree's hand in comfort. "And?" she asked her, head tilting to meet her eye. "Was it bad that you did? Are you upset because he didn't know who you were?" she probed, wondering if tonight was the night she could get Aivree to confess her feelings.

She had dropped multiple hints throughout their term and Vivienne would not be Vivienne if she hadn't caught them. Just a few days ago, Aivree had approached her asking for romantic advice. Now, seeing her so frazzled over Xavier, only confirmed her suspicions.

Aivree Lanzone

Vivienne seemed nervous for what Aivree was going to say, perhaps she was being a bit more dramatic then she needed to be. To Aivree, this was something terrible. Caught up in the heat of the moment she almost ruined her friendship with her best friend. But he would never know, he didn't and that might have been the worst part about it all. One breath. In. Out. She had to relax, this wasn't going to kill her and Vee was going to try and help her.

The soothing gesture of Vee holding her one hand tightly had Aivree calming a bit, her breathing calmed and she thought about her question. Unable to look her in the eyes she shrugged. Why was she upset? Was it because he didn't know who she was? That he had been hot and heavy for a girl that he had literally known for years but friend zoned her because it could get complicated?

That was exactly it, wasn't it?

"It is." Aivree swallowed hard finally looking up to her friend, a pained guilty expression on her face. "He was so..into me. It was amazing to have someone look at me like that. But then I remembered that this isn't even me. I'm in disguise and it isn't me he was into." Again Aivree was getting annoyed with herself. 'This was my fault. I shouldn't have even come to this stupid dance." A curse fell from her lips, breaking down she took her hand back from Vee her head falling into her hands as she groaned outwardly.

Vivienne had to know now. It wasn't a secret how Aivree felt about Xavier, hell while Aivree tried to be a ninja and keep her feelings to only herself the past few weeks she had been careless. Asking questions, trying to get people to help her with the way the feelings just wouldn't go away.

It was all thanks to that fucking modeling thing she did. Fuck, if she ran into Hunter she would kick him in the balls for giving the idea to Xavier to force her up there. This wasn't worth the igniting of feelings for the guy.

A few more minutes went by; silence except for the beat from the music in the other room and the sound of kissing the other couples where doing. It caused her stomach to turn. She had been one of those people just minutes ago. It was disgusting, how had she been alright with that before? Right. Because it was with Xavier.

Fuck it all.

"Shit, I guess it's out that I like..." The name trailed off her tongue looking behind Vee half wondering if Xavier was around here. Listening, waiting to know her thoughts and feelings. Instead there was no one there. Just people dancing, enjoying the evening like she had been before. "What the hell do I do know though?"

Seeing her friend look so distressed made her sympathize. She rubbed circles around the smaller girl's back in an act of comfort and listened, never once tearing her eyes from Aivree's guilt-ridden expression. Guilt, she thought, was not fitting on such a comely girl like herself.

"Aiv, look at me," Vivienne said, once again taking the girl's hands into hers. They were dainty and delicate, but calloused from the number of paintbrushes she held. "This isn't just a disguise. This is you. It's an extension of you and if you want it to be, it can be you. Do you really think Xavier is shallow enough to make out with a complete stranger?" she asked, digging Xavier's grave, "He must've felt something. I'm certain he's drawn to you and don't say it's because of your disguise. You still look like Aivree to me, only with a touch of magic," Vivienne said, snapping her fingers to emphasize her point. She sounded so sure of herself; it was hard not to be convinced.

"The prince didn't fall for Cinderella because of the fairy godmother's magic. Sure, it helped bring her to the ball but it was her which made the prince fall. Not her dress, not her hair. Heck, not even her glass slippers," she smiled, giving a squeeze to Aivree's hands before she let them go. "And anyways, your secret is safe with me." Her eyes twinkled with worrisome mischief under the flashing lights. "Who knows? I may even make a better wingman than Hunter." The thought made her smirk.

”I’m dancing on your heartbeat.“ - X

It was difficult to take this male by surprise and doubled back when the stranger implied how their night was going to end. It was a joke between males and Xavier brushed it off lightheartedly. He sized the male up and down with a lopsided grin. “Take you home? Entice me,” Xavier answered sonorously with a playful nature. Ironically, neither realized that they would be soon going home together, sharing the same room. It took a second for everything to register and he cracked his knuckles.

Xavier followed him but not before quickly pouring himself another cup of spiked punch. The burning sensation trickled down this throat making this night even more electrifying than before. “Let’s go burn shit down.”

They left the gymnasium and headed into the corridor leading to the classrooms. Without a moment’s notice, his partner stopped dead in his tracks before cursing. “Distraction? Using me as bait?” He feigned hesitancy but his eyes glimmered dauntless intrigue and he nodded. You picked the right man, I’ll meet you back at the gym. Leave these losers to me.”

Xavier was fast, he was a park tour fanatic after all. This was basically right up his alley. Some teachers were strolling around, pacing slowly back and forth, checking their phone as well as their watches. Most looked bored and Xavier walked out of his hiding spot. His thumb and index finger made a circle before he placed it in his place, creating the perfect form to induce a loud whistle. Necks whipped towards the devil masquerade mask and the teachers made their way towards him.

“This is close off during the Masquerade ball! The classrooms are off limits.”

“You sure? Doesn’t look like it to me. These rules are dumb, where else are you suppose to go for a little rendezvous?” He backed away a little but before they could reach him, Xavier spun away from them. He ran in zigzag motions, kicking off the walls to increase momentum as well as to make this chase a little more fun. It was human instinct to chase whoever was running away even if there wasn’t good reason for it. It wasn’t hard to outrun these teachers, they were athletically sad and Xavier could walk and they wouldn’t even reach him. He could only hope that the other male got enough time to take the fireworks and run for it.

After shaking the teachers loose, he meandered back to the ballroom. Out from the corner of his eyes, he spied the giant whose height wasn’t giving him tactical advantage if this was a search mission. He approached him from behind. “Hey man, you got the fireworks?”

Aivree Lanzone

Gentle touch, simple listening; no judgment. That was almost enough to cause Aivree to stop her small panic attack that Aivree found herself in. Vivienne seemed to have the skills to do anything. The charisma to talk to anyone, to get men to do what she wanted, a heart of gold--and being a good friend. Swallowing Aivree finally got the courage to look into the blondes eyes, listening to her words.

Taking the words to heart, that was a bit harder thing to ask of the short brunette. How was she supposed to believe that Xavier wouldn't kiss a complete stranger. Many people came to this ball to do exactly what the two of them almost did. It was a ball of new beginnings, an outing to do things that you would normally be unable to do since the act of the mask protected you from being made a fool of if it didn't exactly go the way you had intended it too.

But maybe Vee was right. Perhaps, on some level Xavier felt some kind of connection with her. Even if he had no idea who she was, a small bit of hope lingered in the dark that had shrouded Aivree's heart.

"It takes a lot of work to look this drop dead gorgeous." Aivree tried to joke standing straighter, taking the time to get her bearings back. The breaths from her lungs calmed, she was feeling better. That was for sure. "Maybe putting some work into my appearance isn't a bad thing." she mumbled a bit before sighing heavily. "might need to get some help."

The end of the song that had been blaring above the two girls head had Aivree pausing looking towards the dancers in the other room. She caught a glimpse of them, feeling a little jealous that they got to dance more. Shrugging the thought aside Aiv's attention was brought back to the blonde, a pain of guilt washed over her.

"Thanks for you help. Sorry for taking you away from your dance partner. Was that Hunter? Sure didn't look like him if that was the case. Too tall--tattoos too if I remember catching a glimpse of them." She quickly added before it became clear that it was definitely not Hunter. "Did you get stood up by Hunter? I'll go kick his ass if that's the case." A fist was made, the dainty little rose that Vee had created with the make up and elegant ballgown gone at the sound of someone hurting her friend.

Adam waited, wondering lightly if the guy he had chosen as his new accomplice was going to take his idea, after all not everyone could play a good bait card. While Adam would have done it himself, he stood out a bit more then the shorter male before him. Not to mention, with just a quick glance the male looked to be in good athletic ability. Perhaps he would prove his worth, if not it wasn't a complete skin off his nose.

Hearing the males words, his lopsided grin had Adam mirroring it. With a pat on his shoulder he nodded. "Don't take to long, I'll get the goods. Don't go getting caught, burning shit up takes two people after all." The grin doubled as he watched the man run off down the hallway. Fuck, he wished he could have been the fly on the wall to see the man preform.

He did, after all, seem to be pretty sure of himself--cocky. Kinda guy that Adam could maybe one day get to know. But why would he bother? His mind had the dark clouds take over, once high school came to an end, he wouldn't see him again. Why the fuck did he want a friend anyways?

The dark thoughts where cut short upon hearing a loud whistle, Adam ran to the door peeking his head into the hallway just catching a glimpse of the other male running off down the hallway, a group of fat, lazy teachers running off after him. Adam wanted to fall to the fall to the floor laughing--seeing the snob teachers having to put some work into something other then keeping their nose's so high in the air he wondered how they didnt drown when it was raining. It was hilarous. But he could laugh later, taking the chance he ran into the same classroom with the goods he took a quick glance grabbing whatever he thought would make the biggest bang, start a fire--anything to make the evening even just a bit more lively.

At the sudden sound of sudden footsteps coming his way he dodged the teachers running off to get into the ballroom. Luckily, they didn't see him. To annoyed that they had been tricked by the other male. Clutching the goods under his shirt he walked causully in the ballroom. He waited to see if he could find his accomplice. A little harder to find a male and not his blonde from before he heard the voice which earned him a smirk.

"You might be good bait, but I got the goods." he opened his jacket so he could get a good glimpse. "Alright, lets get a good vantage point and light these babies." Adam held up his lighter, a devil like smile on his lips.

Seeing Aivree slowly calm down made Vivienne relaxed. There was a thoughtful look on the brunette's face as she mused over Vivienne's words and the blonde was simply glad to see that she had helped. A smile took on her face as Aivree made a light joke---or a brilliant suggestion---which made Vivienne beamed with excitement.

"Exactly! If you want, we can make this look a permanent thing," Vivienne encouraged, snapping her fingers together, "Maybe not with the dress and everything but I'm sure we can work something out. Ooh and I know just the place to shop!" she cooed, already mentally planning up Aivree's new, revamped wardrobe. If there was one thing she was good at, it was making herself (and others) look good. Maybe she should try her hand at styling.

"It's okay. Don't mention it," Vivienne answered without a beat, shaking her head at the guilt which crossed her friend's face. She froze at the mention of Hunter. A flare of anger surged in her hardened smile. "No, it wasn't Hunter. Some stranger I picked up at the dance floor," she said with a shrug, grateful that the man had been such a sport. It had been a good thing Hunter was late (she refused to believe she was stood up. Vivienne Andrews never got stood up.), because that led her to meeting one of Arlington's most interesting students. The last 'crime' she had committed in the school was with her ex-boyfriend during freshman year. She had started with a bang then. What better way than to end it with another?

Her pride stung at Aivree's question and the blonde whirled her head, almost snapping in defense. She frowned, "He was late, so I left," she confessed, crossing her arms defensively over her chest. "If you do see him though, tell him he's missed out on one of the best things that could've happened to him," she smirked leaning back against the wall. The DJ was rearing up another song and a few teachers were coming their way.

"Shit," she muttered under her breath, turning her back on them so she wasn't immediately recognizable. She smiled at Aivree, concealing any signs of trouble, "Shall we hit the dance floor, Aiv?"

”I live for the danger.“ - X

"You might be good bait, but I got the goods." he opened his jacket so he could get a good glimpse. "Alright, lets get a good vantage point and light these babies." Adam held up his lighter, a devil like smile on his lips.

Xavier snorted but his eyes were alive and playful. “Guess it’s a good time to say you’re welcome, asshole,” he smacked the other lightly on his back. “While I would love to scare the school, I don’t want to become a character on How to Get Away with Murder so let’s do it outside, somewhere close enough to the door so no one can leave,” he grinned triumphantly. This was going to go down as the best prank at Arlington Academy. If they were caught, they were both going to be suspended or worse, expelled.

Bring it on.

Xavier took a few of the fireworks from the other male, hiding them discreetly under his blazer as they both edge out of the ballroom, inching towards the door. “I’m going to blow up these roman candles to get their attention, set off the sprinklers, but we light all of these aerial repeaters simultaneously, got it?” he said when their coast was clear. The darkness proved to be a great cloaking device, masking their movements as Xavier placed several of the fireworks in a row two yards in front of the gym. It was the best place for anyone walk out to see the fireworks light up the dark sky. Xavier gestured for another lighter and when he had it, he looked completely at home with their plan.

“When I signal, you do your shit,” Xavier had his roman candle in his hand while he walked back inside with the door wide open. Luckily for him, the staff was in the middle of the crowd or watching the crowd on the dance floor. No one knew any better.

Ha.

Xavier held the bottom edge of the fireworks to keep it away from him. It happened quicker than a blink of an eye. The firework was in front of him, lit up, and exploded straight up into the sprinkler causing smoke and water to go off. The water disarm the roman candle and the evidence was tucked away. It was a series of chain reaction with students screaming and running pass him while his partner lit up all the fireworks a few minutes ago. Xavier walked out with squeaky wet shoes and clothes, blending in with the panicked crowd (hopefully Adam did too) as the staff and faculty attempted to reassure and calm everyone down.

But murmurs and whispers echoed as drenched students glanced up at the sky illuminated by iridescent fireworks in awe.

Aivree Lanzone

For some reason, Aivree though that Vivienne wouldn't take her idea seriously. But judging by the excited expression that graced the blondes pretty face, Aivree had thought wrong. It made her gut clench a bit. Not in a complete bad way mind you. It was more of the idea of the work that would have to be put into every morning. No more sleeping in, no more rolling out of bed minutes before class and just throwing the uniform on and dashing to class. No, there would be planning, not rubbing her eyes during the day for fear of smearing everything that you worked so hard to accomplish. A whole lot of work.

But would the result be worth it? Grade 12, the last grade--if she changed herself so drastically would people notice? When the hell did she start giving a fuck about what people thought of her anyways. If anything, she wanted to like her. That was the main reason. Perhaps going to far out of the comfort zone, but getting some new clothes might be fun. Aivree didn't know Vee as well as she had before but spending a bit more time with the girl would be enjoyable.

The thought of Xavier seeing her with make up had her laughing already. His expression would be that of a dumbfounded fish no doubt.

"Xavier won't even regonize me I bet you." Aivree admitted crossing her arms over her chest, taking a much needed breath. Hearing that it wasn't Hunter, concluding that Hunter did, in fact, not show up had Aivree feeling slightly furious. What an ass, he had better have had a good reason for being...late. That was what he was. Late.

Or just ditching. Who knew she supposed.

"If I see him soon I will make sure to punch him in the face." Aivree spoke grinning. "When he asks why I'll just tell him that he knows why. I owe him for a punch of two over the few times I have hung out with him. Stole my drinks a few times. He can be such an ass." Aivree said in a bored tone. She caught the bitterness in Vee's tone, the snapping at Aivree didn't faze the short girl.

Vivienne, though one of the most powerful women that Vee knew, was probably hurt at the thought that a guy, she might have had feelings for, left her for no reason, she was covering it up. Aivree knew that feeling all to fucking well. Just hers wasn't wanting to have anything with a friend for that she was heartbroken. But understood. But the friendship might be damaged already as it was if things didn't get resolved in Aivrees mind anyways.

"Right. I wanted to dance more anyways, being in disguise I can dance like a loser all I want." With another grin given to her friend the small duo started towards the ballroom.

It was in that moment she heard something..odd. While she knew very well there had been sparklers and other fireworks on the dance floor she wondered if they had caught the ones behind it seeing as it had gone quiet. The music echoed in the rooms, loud cheers but it was the quiet before the storm. Aivree had a knack for pranks, she did them with Xav from time to time and this feeling. It was rising in her chest.

Within moments of that feeling the girls made it back to the dance floor just in time for the something to be shot out from two directions. Water started to spray onto the guest of the dance. Shrieks of fear and disorientation filled the room. Aivree wasn't able to scream, she laughed seeing as she was already wet from the sprinklers. The smoke lingered at the top of the ballroom but with all the panic taking over it suddenly stopped when the other fireworks where set off.

It wasn't bad it was really very pretty in all honesty. A fire hazard, but pretty nonetheless.

She looked in th ecrowd, who would have done something so stupid?

One name came to mind.

Xaiver. But there had to be one other.

Perhaps she would have to question the man later that week. If she was able to face him any time soon that was. The name still had her guts in a knot from the kissing and...well the talk they had.

"Did you hear that girl in the pink dress?" Aivree laughed. "My hair, my dress its all ruined! Daddy is going to hear about this!" Aivree mimicked the other flapping her arms in imitation before laughing. "Little wet never hurt anyone." Ahh, it felt good to be more herself again.
