Where Am I?

"No one that I can remember very well." Katrina replied, examining the old ladies face.

Kat sucked in some air and then let out a deep breath. "Alright. But I don't know how to control this remember. Something could go wrong." Kat warned.

Magi hesitated. "If you have any better idea I'm ready to hear it. You've already disabled the spell on the house... look, I'm out but it's not making any moves. Well, if you don't have a suggestion then lets move in."

"Ah... that's so sad. You really don't trust anyone? What about your friends?" Petunia asked.

"I-I had friends? I don't really recall anyone that I would have considered by friend." Katrina said. She really didn't remember them at all.

Kat began to get stressed again and then another ball of light emitted from her and it flowed into the house and down to him, releasing him as it had Magi. Her powers were triggered when she was stressed but she didn't know that.

"That's a big problem." Petunia was disappointed. Her plan wouldn't work without help. "Just if I wasn't blind I could do the task myself... but now it seems that we can't make a move till I take your memories back. Plotting to trick Magak can't be easy." She said and thought how she could get help from somewhere.

Almost the whole hut fell apart this time. Magi ran forward and helped Victor to his feet. "Are you fine?" She asked. "I... I can't see..." Victor replied with trembling voice. Magi bit her loer lip and guided him to Kat by hand. "She saved us with her power. She is more powerful than any other girl I've seen but still inexperienced..." She explained. Victor couldn't believe at first but as Magi explained more of the details, he pointed at a tunnel under the ruined hut. "There I guess... must be the portal to the magic maze. Almost all of them have been there... and it was there that I fought her and lost my sight. I want to go back there and defeat her beast... then I can take back what belongs to me..." He said. "I can't do it alone... would you please help me?"

Kat shivered a little at the thought. She had definitely never done anything like this before, and on top of that he was acting strange and with good reason. She didn't know why they thought she could help. The first two incidents had been coincidental and she couldn't control it at all. She was worried about that, but tried not to show it.

Katrina thought. "I apologize but I really cannot think of anyone that I would consider my friend."

Victor felt Kat hesitating. He faced down sadly and turned pal. "See... I'm sorry; I've been asking too much. I just need someone to be my eyes. I'm going down there alone anyway but before that, let me send you back to your own world. Without my sight I can't save the princess but on the other hand I can't expect more than this from you. You already have down too much... thank you Kat..." He said and smiled. Magi looked from one to the other then held Kat's hands. "Do you really want to leave... now?" She asked worryingly.

Petunia nodded. "Tomorrow the king hears pledges of peasants. At that time I'll meet him and accuse the queen directly. Even if that doesn't work, she won't dare to mess around with you for a while and that gives yu more time to find you soldiers and make your move." She spoke seriously.

Katrina processed the plan. "I don't see how that would accomplish much considering I don't remember, but I suppose it's the best course of action that we are able to come up with."

Kat looked from Magi to Victor then back again. "I-I don't know. I really have no idea what I'm doing, or what I've been doing. This place confuses me a lot and I just don't know what to think." She said honestly.

"No one can decide for you, Kat." Victor said and asked Magi to help him draw the magic circle on the ground it took them some time till he managed to open a portal for Kat to go back home. "Here it is. You can go home if you want. I'm going to follow my own fate in the maze. It's up to you whether you want to stay and share your fate with us or chase your destiny in the other dementia. You have five minutes to decide because your portal is going to fade away within five minutes." He said then Magi took him to the other portal and they both jumped into the darkness to go to the maze.

Kat took a deep breath and then knew what she had to do. She couldn't just leave them there to fend for themselves. She knew she could be of some help to them and that there was nothing left for her in her world. Her parents hated her and she was living alone. That world may never need her, but this one did. She followed after them and then caught up with them because she knew that's what she had to do.

After entering the maze Victor tried to remember the path he had walked before and explained it to Magi so that she could guide him. The had taken the first turn when Magi screamed as a gigantic spider had blocked their way. Victor called forth some ind of herb which spiders disdained and the spider ran away without trouble. Magi screamed again not due to fear but for joy. "Kat!" She called her and ran forward to hug her. "I knew you'll come... we're friends after all..." She said. Victor ginned. "You probably haven't made the best choice, but thanks. I owe you even more than before." Saying this, he proceeded by touching the wall. They walked a rather long way till the second obstacle appeared. "These... these are... Harpy?!" Magi asked with trembling voice as eagles who had women's head looked down at them loath-fully. "Cover your ears and run!" Victor yelled right before the harpies screamed.

Kat covered her ears and stayed with them because she had come back for them after all. She looked at them to see what they would do next.

The group ran from harpies as they chased them but Victor didn't get used to run blindly and hit a wall and fell on the ground. "God... their voice is ripping my heart apart..." He said as blocked his ears again. "What do you want from us? Leave us alone." Magi yelled at harpies. "We are guards of this passage. You've trespassed our territory." They replied with their scary tone. "Damn, I've had enough... throw pebbles at them..." Victor uttered through gritted teeth. Magi picked a pebble from the ground and threw it at one of harpies. Victor started reciting a curse which made the pebbled shin in hotness thus when it hit the harpy she got hurt badly. The rest of them got angry and decided to attack. "Hurry hit all of them before they can get us." Victor spoke like a commander.

Kat hesitated and then another light was emitted from her and they were surrounded by a strong force field that blocks out sound. She again, had no idea how she had done it but at least she did know it was her this time.

"Thank goodness... it's calm again..." Victor said as searched for girls. Magi took his hand. "Kat has made a barrier. What's next?" She asked. "Really?" Victor was amazed. He put his hand on Kat's shoulder. "It would be great if you keep it up like this. Think about this barrier and your desire to keep it strong then let's walk to the center of the maze." He whispered to Kat.

Kat shivered a little when he was whispering with his hand on her shoulder. It was uncomfortable to her, but she nodded and did as he had said. "I-I honestly don't know what I'm doing." She whispered back.

"You'll be fine; it's in your blood. Unlike me, you don't need to train your power to use the magic in the nature, you have to acknowledge its existence within you and within this world and then you'll be able to use it as you wish. Strongest witches have been like you... using it before they knew..." Victor spoke kindly to Kat. Magi pushed them both toward the next passage. "Let's go now, you can teach later." She said as they walked with the barrier around them.

"Where do you think you are going?" A loud harsh voice echoed in the maze. "I know this voice... this is her beast... her great boar-man. Thanks a lot for bringing me here but it's my fight now... please stay put..." Victor said and walked out of the barrier. He raised his hand and called out a name then a large spear appeared in her hand. "Hey big boar... your witch isn't here to save you. Hand me that mirror if you like you life..." He called the opponent.

Kat just stayed in the force field with Magi and watched him. She didn't know what to do so she just obeyed and let him fight for himself. It was in her blood? That thought creeped her out quite a bit. She did find it comforting the way he knew more about it than her. At least someone knew about this. She had no idea and it was very clear.

Fighting the beast without its witch's support wasn't hard for a wizard but without his sight Victor got hit by it several times. It was just in boar-man's final blow that Victor managed to pierce it with the spear in head. "Is it... dead?" He asked as tried to pull himself together. Magi left the barrier and checked on the beast. "As dead as dust..." She said and pulled a mirror out of boar's clothes. "This must be what you've been searching for..." She kept the mirror in front of his face and a moment later he was laughing happily. "Finally... I've got my sight back..." He said and sighed in relief. "It's time to go back." The wizard hardly stood; his clothes were covered by blood.

The group was back in the forest again. They didn't stop till made sure they were far enough from witch's home. "I need to clean up and rest... but can't go back to the tower or palace... they think I'm a criminal." Victor said as sat under a tree.

Kat sat beside him and looked at him. The light shown through her and made her glow yellow this time. She looked like sun was shining from within her and it actually looked very beautiful. The light shown on him and healed all of his wounds. After that, it dimmed but didn't go away. Kat had actually just sort of ignored it and continued to watch him. She felt like it was normal at this point.

Both Victor and Magi were stunned. Kat's abilities were beyond their imagination. The young wizard was totally speechless but the girl broke the silence. "Kat, that was unseen... you are pretty amazing, girl!" She said excitedly. "You must be the strongest witch..." She was going on when Victor cut her line. "No she isn't. She isn't a witch... that's not a witch's power." Victor said seriously then looked at Kat. "I don't know your world but seems that you have high potential in using the forces of our world. In other words, your powers are unique. If you want I can help you train but you are not going to be like any of us." He stood up and his expresstion became softer. "Let's hide it from preying eyes for now and when you get used to using it... well, I don't think anyone can stop your will that time." She said gladly then faced Magi. "Please go back to the palace and see how the princess is doing. We can't leave her alone for long."

Kat stood and then looked at them both. She waited until they had finished speaking then looked at him. "I don't mean to do anything that happens. It just...does. You have no idea how confused this stuff makes me." She said.

Katrina was looking out her bedroom window now because she needed to remember what the outside world looked like. She didn't remember much about anything but the memories she had were better than none at all.

Magi immediately ran to the palace. She was mostly worried about the princess. "It's a great power. I think you should learn to control it. Let's go to my old house. There you can practice without trouble." Victor said and started walking opposite direction of Magi.

Magi looked up at the window of Princess's room and in surprise, saw her standing there looking out. She hurried up to her room and dashed in without caring about a maid's manners. "My lady! I'm so glad you are fine again. Oh... I was going to die just seeing you lifeless like that..." She said as fell at her knees crying in happiness.

Katrina blinked as she stared at Magi. "Pardon me, but I don't believe we've met before have we?" She asked, geniunely curious. She didn't remember her at all. She knew she was probably a maid, but couldn't tell beyond that.

Kat nodded and followed him to wherever he was going. "Is the fact that you both were so shocked a bad thing? Because for some reason I feel guilty like what I have is bad." She expressed her feeling aloud. She didn't know how to feel about them being so shocked and such.

"How can it be... I'm your fateful maid, Magi." Magi couldn't stop crying this time because princess had forgotten about her. "I know... it must be Magak's fault..." She started telling her what had happened to them since she was lost.

"It was shocking but not bad..." Victor replied, feeling guilty for making Kat worried. "You know... people get easily scared of the unknown, that's all. I don't know you for long but I feel like I can trust you about your power. As long as power is in right hands there is nothing to be worried about." He looked back at the girl and smiled again. "You've changed a lot in a few days." He said kindly. Soon they arrived at a small house behind a hip. "It's not clean or comfortable... I've left this place years ago and even when I lived here... well I was poor and couldn't afford anything unnecessary." He explained about the shabby looks of the small house.

"What do you mean I've changed? Is that a good thing?" She asked him, very confused by what he could've meant by that. She didn't care about the house or what it looked like. She cared more about Victor than the house.

Katrina didn't know what to do when she had started crying because she wasn't good at extremely emotionally based situations. Everything she explained sounded completely ridiculous but she just decided to trust her because the girl clearly had strong feelings towards her.
