Futuristic Centaurus Military Academy

SAO considered things like religion as lies as her people had found no proof of anything but what could be explained even if it meant bending a few laws of reality none of it was anything more than natural. Though she could understand Ufulo's ideas of death as it made sense if she thought about it as if Ufulo was an animal and really that was where actions started .


" You misunderstood it is not ones death that causes disorders it is the death of others that can create issues like PTSD why is that if there is nothing then there is no use in mourning them or caring that they died if you think something comes after, even though we can find no proof, then should you not be happy when they die why would you develop such disorders in either case?" She asked.
 
"Oh, no." Tau replied, waving a hand. "The L'Cie can do this whenever they feel like. I just prefer to be in this space while I work on things. It gives me more time to think...and draw up stuff like this." he said, lifting up a bundled roll of paper from his drawer. Removing the band holding it, he spread it out across the table.

Ufulo looked at the ground a little and sighed, "Because when a once peaceful town is covered in fire along with it's citizens, and when you constantly hear the screams of children asking for someone to help them. It's different. My parents are dead. They were shot in the head in front of my eyes. I watched as their eyes glossed over and they fell to the ground. I was covered in their blood. The Krayers tried to take me to be their slave, but I bit them and escaped. It would be different if they died peacefully. If they died of old age and I was able to have them as I grew up. I just wanted to tell them I love them. Those kinds of things you can't be happy about. The smell of burning flesh can't be forgotten. Hasina's PTSD was brought on by a traumatic experience. Not necessarily death itself. You can obtain PTSD from anything as long as it resonated in you in an extremely bad way. Hers happens to be associated with it, but the trauma is what caused it."

Eldirir nodded at Echo's comment about his race. He knew they were known for good things, but all he can think of now is how they wanted to give away their planet to the highest bidder. He loves his planet, he loves his people, but Eldirir has trouble thinking highly of them right now. He looked at the blueprints and squinted. "These look amazing, but I have to admit I'm unsure as to what exactly I'm looking at. So it's a giant robot? Will it be used for battle or for another use?"

Hasina grunted when Ufulo almost dropped her. Then swore silently when she asked about PTSD. Had SAO overheard Hasina's story? "Those we loose are never forgotten. They are gone physically but the friends they leave behind will always have memories. While the idea of a life after this one helps, the memories we have of them can hurt us even more." She said trying to stand on her own but her knees just wouldn't work.

Ufulo's story had too much bias for SAO to really find it as a good answer to her question as it only to her offered a broad definition of things that could cause it. What Hasina said however was more useful as it was far more concise and had a good explanation as why the deaths caused pain, organic memory.


" Interesting " SAO said her " It seems that I will need to find out more latter, that is enough on death for now' She said actually thinking she had gotten enough information. " I do have other subjects I wish to ask on, if you two are free" She said.

"Hmm? Of, this was just the concept sketch!" Tau said, laughing. "This suit is too large to be if any use in a real fight. No, my idea is on a much smaller scale. No more than two times the size of any normal sized species...but I'm in a bit of a pinch..." He said, leaning back in his chair.

Echo looked at the blueprints for a moment before looking up at him. "If you give them an artificial gravity, a method of movement, and suited for space, they could be used in space fights or to take out the enemy from surfaces we cannot go on like some planets and asteroids." She suggest from the top of her head. "But what is causing your pinch?" She asked. Not aware of how wrongly she worded that sentence.

Eldirir was confused by all the words they were saying. He barely knew much about his own field other than antiseptic and band aids. He decided to just sit back and listen to what they had to say, he didn't want to attempt to interject anything silly.

Ufulo sighed, "I don't know. We need to get Hasina back to her dorm, so if you want to talk you'll need to walk and talk." Ufulo held on to Hasina and began to walk again. Ufulo had trouble speaking with SAO, she wasn't very good at explaining things that are just common knowledge for her. Same would go for if she had to explain how messages are able to be transmitted wirelessly from a recording device to the computers at the tech lab.

Tau nodded."You're right. That would be the best idea. As for my pinch...well, I could talk about the little issues all day." Tau looked at the table, tapping his finger on it. "Well, most importantly, the system I built is too much for one mind to handle. The amount of information coming in at once would task even a prodigy to their limits. And if they're focused on analysis, there's little they can do in terms of actually responding to it. In a larger mech, that could be resolved by adding another pilot to take the load off, but in a single suit...it'd require a pilot with twice the capacity for external stimuli, or a computing system..." He turned towards Echo. "With a capacity for calculated thought. An Artificial Intelligence, in other words."

Zeon woke up.


At first, she was confused. Where was she?


Familiar smells hit her as she got up, soon realizing she was in her own room. A note on her dresser caught her eye, it was from Eldirir. It explained how she got here.


She frowned, Tau brought her here? That's absurb.


She remembered the events that had occured and that a teacher basically drugged her. She growled at herself, she knew she gave permission for that to happened, but she didn't think it would actually happened.


she jumped off her bed and and out the door.
 
"So.... Unless you make a two person mech, you need to need an A.I. for it?... That is quite a pinch." Echo said. "There are not many A.I.s that actually work. I am one of the few that work in the way our superiors intended." She went on. "So where would you find and A.I. Or would you create one? Both would be difficult tasks really. Considering how few A.I there are and creating one is difficult because you most likely end up with an emotionless drone that will make logical choices. But not the right choices."

"That's the general idea." Tauburn replied."And to build an entirely new AI...that's tough, even for me. But, perhaps you could help me." he said, tuning all of the way around to face her.

" Very well I can walk and talk I do have two subjects I wish to ask on." Sao said not aware if Ufulo was trying to get rid of her or if she was just tired and SAO really was too dense to notice either one she had two more simpler in her mind subjects. After her talk with Sith SAO had become interested in the bonds of friends and family and organic courtship.


" I believe that the topic that can be spoken on in public is the bonds of family and friends, the other subject I believe is known as girl talk in organic circle " She said " I will move right to the question while the roots of the bonds are understood I do not know the difference between the bonds between family and friends, they seem interchangeable can you try to explain them ?" She asked.

Echo looked a Tau blankly. Or at least looked at him the same way she always looks. "How so?" She asked, tilting her head a bit. Maybe he wanted her to help him create an A.I? Or find him a assistant?

"Well, put plainly...I want to copy your code, as the base for my design's operating system." Tau said. He leaned forward, grasping one of her hands in his own. "In other words, I want to make a child with you...um, figuratively speaking." He said, blushing before pulling his hands away. He looked to the side, and scratched his cheek nervously.

Echo stared at him blankly as she processed what he said. "..... At least buy me dinner first." She said with her usual monotone. "That was a joke." She added to clarify. She was still getting used to not being so "serious." But she actually thought over what he had said. "If you copied my code it could go one of two ways. You either have an exact copy of me. Or you would end up with a blank code that would hopefully have the same learning programming. The latter I would not mind... But I will be honest the other possibility, I am not too keen on." She wouldn't mind helping him. But the thought of an exact clone of herself going around for some reason didn't set right with her.

"Well, I agree on that. Being unique is a gift I wouldn't want to steal from anyone. It would be a blank code, like you said. So...does that mean you'll help?" Tau said, smiling up at Echo. Inside, he was kind of excited to get the chance to complete his project.

Echo stood silent for a second before nodding. "I will." She replied with a nod. "As long as I get to oversee anything you're going to do with the A.I." She added. It was part of her after all, she wanted to see how things turned out.

"Well, of course you can see. Its your project as much as it is mine. As much as I'd like to get started now, this field has been up for a bit, and its starting to drain me. Maybe we can all pick this up again some other time?" Tau stood, as the field began to close, the energy within the crystals dying down.

Echo nodded. "Of course. How about we do this on the next day off? We will both be more rested then." She answered before turning. "I will see you in class till then. Have a good day Tauburn, Eldirir." She said before walking off and heading back to her own room.

Eldirir stood in confusion. The words they were throwing around, he understood none of them. He had waited around in silence while they continued their intelligent conversation. Once they want to talk about why leaves turn orange when it gets cold out and get crunchier and tastier then he will have input, but all this A.I. business. He has no clue about any of it. He snapped back to when Echo excused herself. "I'll go on ahead and go too. It was snery interesting to listen, but I snave to be snonest I didn't snunderstand any of it. I'll see you later Tauburn." He followed Echo and quickly asked, "So Echo, be snonest. There was something between you two there right? You snuys sneemed to kind of click."

Echo looked as Eldirir a bit confused. "Clicked? What do you mean?" She asked as she started to walk. "Is that another word for something else?" She seemed genuinely concerned and curious about what he had meant.
 
Eldirir noticed the concern she was showing. "Oh no no don't worry it's snothing bad. Clicked is a term used for if you and another person are getting along in a friendly or romantic way. You snuys were getting along pretty well. I just wondered if maybe you snaw yourself and Tau maybe in a romantic light, or if you would rather stay friends."
 
Tauburn watched as the others left, smiling. He went to the bed, and took a nap, feeling good about the way things went. As he closed his eyes, his thoughts drifted to Echo.


'Take me out to dinner first...heh.'
 
Echo was quiet for a moment as she though on what he had said. "I am not very well versed in anything romantic. I can't say I know, but he is pleasent company. Maybe once I know more on this subject I will know for sure." She said as she went towards her room. "Have a good day Eldirir. See you at the field test." She said, going into her room and shutting the door.
