HANNIBAL
I'm worried about HANNIBAL. You designed it to basically access all US Military systems including Satellites and aircraft systems. I'm worried about the Nuclear Missiles. I mean it's a threat analysis matrix, what if it goes Skynet and decides we're a threat to it? If it has access to nuclear material, then it's a problem.

Re: HANNIBAL
Don't worry about it. The nuclear missiles are on a separate system. We have ensured that HANNIBAL will have no access to them in order to prevent a Skynet thing happening. Also, HANNIBAL is meant to advise, it can't take any direct action by itself.

As Aloy fixes the world by saving GAIA, other unknown threats also begin to surface. Across the North American Continent, HANNIBAL, a supercomputer initially designed for use by the United States Military has awoken. Originally built by DARPA as a defensive measure designed to think up defensive measures for attacks on American Soil, it was to be repurposed into a strategist for Operation Enduring Victory. However, it was never truly activated to its full potential as the East Coast was overrun and abandoned. Deep within the DARPA Labs beneath the Pentagon, HANNIBAL continued to stir, its systems calculating and its systems opening.

Upon its true awakening, HANNIBAL began to access what US Military assets were left in the world. Sensing machines still on the surface, the computer began moving towards what it determined was the best course of action: To launch the remaining US nuclear stockpile. While it is currently locked out of the system, if HANNIBAL is able to access the Nuclear Stockpile, then the work done by Aloy to help GAIA to restore the ecosystem would be for nothing as the world is bathed in nuclear fire.

Entrepreneur Offers Solution to DC's Power and Flooding Woes

Washington DC has always been prone to flooding from the Potomac and the Tidal Basin, with the city recently seeing a record breaking flood where the National Mall was beneath several feet of water despite a vast network of tunnels and seawalls. However, a new company seeks both an end to the flooding as well as a solution to the recent power shortages plaguing the region. Where most see a flooded body of water , Brandon Hollis sees opportunity.

"It's really about repurposing what's there." Hollis said as he stood next to a cherry blossom overlooking the Tidal Basin. "If we can rig the tunnels to generate power, similar to a dam, then we can draw power from the waters when it floods, as well as continuously drain. If we clean the water as well, then we can pump it back out at sea.

Hollis, a former engineer of Atbay,
[DATA CORRUPTED]

Beginning in the Appalachian Mountains in Virginia and West Virginia, a group of individuals is brought together to stop a rogue military artificial intelligence from activating the remaining nuclear weapons. Along the way, they meet allies, access ancient facilities, and uncover mysteries dating back a millennium.

ELEUTHIA-7 is a cradle in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. While ELEUTHIA-9 is focused on the population west of the Mississippi, ELEUTHIA-7 is focused on the East of the Mississippi and the Eastern Seaboard.

This region has been chosen due to the tunnels that have already been dug for mining operations as well as its long history of disaster preservation. (See Attach: History of the Greenbrier: the Bunker)

— Christopher Renfrew, ELEUTHIA-7 Cradle Proposal

The Burgo: A tribe that developed in the ruins of what was once the Old Ones city of Pittsburgh, now known as Burgh. Their western equivalent is the Oseram, as the Burgo are trained in metalworking and engineering. The Burgo style of dress is analogous to the Anglo-Saxons with their warriors wearing chainmail and cloth.

The Roan: A tribe based in the valley around what was once Roanoke and Salem, Virginia. To them, the Mountains are sacred. The Eastern equivalent of the Carja due to their advanced culture and structure building. Have an infamously difficult bureaucracy to navigate.

The Kreft: A tribe from further west, in what was once Kentucky and Tennessee. In some ways the Eastern equivalent of the Nora though less isolationist and more nomadic. Dress like the Celts and have elaborate body paint.

The River People: A group of people who settled along the Ohio River. Known to use boats for traversal up and down the river, often trading with the other tribes along tributaries. Rumored to have made contact with tribes along the "River of Misery" (Missouri River) far to the West.

The Briar: The initial tribal consisting of what was once Greenbrier and Pocahontas Counties in West Virginia. Here is the Briar Temple, once a luxury resort, and The Mirror (The Green Bank Radio Telescope) as well as the ELEUTHIA-7 facility. Here, the tribes meet for a yearly summit at the Briar Temple which is maintained by priests from The Roan.

The team responsible for Cradle 7 didn’t utilize biometrics, knowing that any future humans would be left unable to access their systems if they did. Instead, they connected their identities to specific Focuses which could then be transferred if damaged, allowing those with the Focus to access the various facilities.

The ones with the identities of the scientists ended up in the hands of a group with a goal related to the work of the scientists and their fates.

The goal? Access a series of supercomputers in the DARPA Labs deep beneath the Pentagon in order to prevent the launch of nuclear stockpiles.

Woah, Minerva's making a Fandom RP? That's only happened like one other time!

That's correct. I've been playing Forbidden West lately and was really drawn into the world. I thought that, since Aloy and the story of The West has been told, that the story of the East should be told since we don't really know anything about the East Coast and what's going on there. Gives us a relatively blank slate to work with and worldbuild while still using some of the stuff we have.

The plot follows a group of individuals from various tribes whose Focuses? Foci? all go off at once with an old military signal. This signal was the Nuclear Launch Codes, attempting to broadcast to the West and using whatever networks it could to leap off. As HANNIBAL has recently woken, it's not at full power and may also need some work from Zero Dawn and other facilities in order to truly be deactivated.

Funnily enough, most of the missile silos are in Nora and Banuk territory so despite not physically appearing I may make a few references here and there. This is also post Forbidden West, potentially during Burning Shores, so the primary AI systems are active and working though Machines are still hostile against humans.

Also there is a small cult based around Mothman.

The statue of mothman in Point Pleasant survived and so a bunch of people were like "Huh this is a weird statue" and started worshiping it.

Mothman himself did not survive the Faro Plague, I am sorry to say.

Owww.... Did at least Gonzilla survive? Or Bigfoot?

Interesting I wonder what weird and wacky character I could make. Oddly feel some kind preservationisy or knowledge collector would be neat.

HANNIBAL is part of network of three Supercomputers across the country. However, only one computer remains whole.

HANNIBAL in Washington DC beneath the Pentagon is the only remaining computer of the system originally designed to act as a tactician for attacks against US soil.

ALEXANDER in Cheyenne Mountain Complex was the second computer. ALEXANDER was later repurposed for usage in GAIA's systems.

CAESAR in San Diego, was lost in the seisemic event that created The Burning Shores.
