Yes though by the looks of it the creature wouldnt be much of a fighter though it shows signs of high sensory capability. Early warning creature, and solid bedtime companion.

Sweet, I didn't want to make a new post about them, so I added them in Sam's post under their own spoiler tag. Also, Sam doesn't have one and anyone can tame one if they give them food and attention.
