Are races and classes tied together by the why? For instance, could I have a character whose race is some sort of bird laguz and their weapon be a sword?

A Laguz having a manmade weapon would definitely be overpowered. Not to mention, it is within Laguz culture to not use weapons made by man.

I forgot to add that the character wouldn't be able to transform, but fair enough. It wasn't my intention to create an overpowered character.

Just sayin', Laguz lose their ability to transform only when they mate with humans (or, in this case, Sollan and even Faye). There should be no other reason that the Laguz wouldn't be able to transform.

I'll think of allowing a laguz to take up a class under these circumstances, but for now it's unlikely. I'll definitely let you know once a decision is reached.
