Crackerjack
He had cooled it for a bit. Tossing explosive orbs around the town for a time got tiring. Also it was unnecessary, since many of the structures were now rubble, or broken in places. Fires raged and crackled lighting all of Svitch up in a golden orange hue. Suddenly he heard someone shout his name. Turning their way, he spotted a man in a mask. Crackerjack puffed on his cigarette, blowing out smoke.

'Yes it has. Finish them, Crackerjack!'

Said the voice within his head. He dipped his head to the man, taking the cig from his lips, and tossing it to the ground, smashing it underfoot. "I agree," Crackerjack spoke up in a polite tone. "You are most astute sir, this has gone on long enough. Time to finish this." He did not know who this was that was confronting him, but he knew he was ordered to kill them. Hands came up, and his entirety of his forearms and palms glowed bright orange. Similar to before he swiped like whips, sending out bands towards the man, that would explode wherever they struck.

Jackson saw first hand how Crackerjack's power worked as he saw his arms glow a bright orange, similar to how his own arms' veins would glow when using his power. Perhaps this individual that now stood behind him was right, he was one of the only ones able to take on, and possibly match Crackerjack. Seeing the orange bands come at him and becoming aware of the person standing behind him, Jackson lept forward and his fists' veins glowed again as he punched the bands resulting in a huge explosion centered on Jackson. However, as the explosive cloud faded, Jackson was still standing as he had directed the force using his punches as a spear point diverging them around his body. This meant that Jackson still stood coat rippling in the wind, the person he was protecting still did, and Jackson was still ready to go. Looking at Crackerjack, Jackson spoke. "Well isn't that a lovely surprise huh?"

Crackerjack
Expecting to obliterate the man with the resulting explosion, Crackerjack was stunned to see him standing there, a scorch mark on the ground and nearby buildings in front of him. So he deflected the force by striking it? The suited man shrugged at his opponent's words. "Ah, an Abnorm of some skill. Very good, sir! I do enjoy meeting someone of my own kind. You know my name, care to tell me yours?" He smiled, "That is, before I kill you." His palms lit up once more, and he rolled two large orbs. He tossed them up in the air, but they split into many tiny orbs, raining exploding pellets down on the man before him. Sure, he could hit a big explosive, but how would he deal with many of them?

"You will know my name soon enough Crackerjack." Jackson watched as he then made two more orbs, but something he wasn't expecting happened. The orbs split up into a multitude of smaller orbs as they began to rain down upon him. ~damn this guy is tough, probably the toughest I've fought in a long time. But I have to stop him, because I will not let anymore innocents die!~ Jackson's resolve solidified as he whispered to the person clutching him, "Hang on tight!" as Jackson jumped in the air while crossing his arms. As the orbs got closer, he sent both fists in either direction clearing up some of the orbs in the same manner as before, but he was rocketed down on his feet with a slight *omph* as some air was knocked out of him. ~I need to end this fast! I have to use it!~ Jackson then started to briskly walk at Crackerjack.

Crackerjack

'Crackerjack.. Crackerjack...'

The voice echoed in his mind. It tore and ripped at his psyche, the voice itself painful. Was this what Harbinger could hear? Was it what he heard at all times? The One speaking to him. Telling him to finish it. Anyway, back to reality. He frowned when the man didn't divulge his name; Crackerjack wasn't exactly a man who enjoyed games or dishonesty. The man before him wasn't dishonest, but he also wasn't honest. "It's unbecoming to be rude good sir," the man chastised. After the masked man collided with the explosions, he landed, then came at Crackerjack. "Oh? Still standing? My you are tenacious!"

'Crackerjack..'

Yes, I know. He narrowed his gaze. Then he placed his hands together, charging up a highly concentrated form of his explosive power. It glowed bright orange in his hands. "Tenacious, but foolish. Now die!" Crackerjack shouted, flinging his boomerang shaped slash of explosive energy. It spun and contorted on its way at the approaching man.

Vira, of all people, dashed from where she had been on the ground mere moments before. From where she had been discarded harshly by an attack from Harbinger. -One she couldn't simply avoid thanks to being thrown by the small super-strong Abnorm girl. Similarly, she had her own voice in her head. Telling her, 'Get up Vira! Get up!' and 'You can still do this! They need you! Fight! Vira!'

It had been a struggle, because she didn't take hits often. And that one was a particularly nasty one; Harbinger didn't pull his punches. She was lucky nothing was broken, but she certainly felt like something was off inside. Regardless, Ellie was right. They had needed her. It was only thanks to her danger-warning power that she could feel the energy build up from Crackerjack. Just how dangerous this next attack would be. She had just managed to intercept it with Venom, her sword. The swath of energy collided with her blade. Pushing her back a bit, Vira growled through clenched teeth, only barely managing to deflect it. The boomerang spun away and hit a building. Instantly the building was engulfed in one of the biggest explosions so far, rocking the town. It exploded right beside Mr. Sizemore's left leg, and the big man noticed. He glanced down to watch the action unfold there, his breaths labored.

After deflecting Crackerjack's attack, Vira fell to one knee, holding her side, her breaths also coming quick. Venom smoked from where it clashed with Crackerjack's boomerang. She had known it was strong, but hadn't expected the effort required to stop it. At least the lane before her was open straight to the explosive-man himself.

Lucca Malkovich
Location: Town

From afar, from a safe distance, he watched how even Scarletts swing full powered swing could barely even hurt the giant Abnorm. Lucca gazes up towards the giant, each of his steps brought great tremors and each movements caused devastation. For the first time, he had truly understood it, felt it even, what do they mean when they say "Devil's Children". And as he watch Scarlett being blown away, he realized for the first time how helpless he can be. Against something like this he was but an insignificant insect. That black haired bitch wasn't wrong when she called him "useless"...... No, not useless, he was just normal, relatively anyways. What kind of freaks devastates an entire town just by throwing a tantrum!? These freaking Abnorms, these monsters, resorting to using their powers as soon as thing don't go their way, they're practically children who never learned to grow up because they were born with power that could subdue anyone else around them. Yet, the Abnorms aren't the only ones like this are they? The WG, the League, the Gangs, each and everyone of them a piss drinkin' monster in their own rights.

"Screw the Abnorms! Screw the WG! Screw the League! And Screw the fuckin' Gangs!"

For the first time, Lucca was set into the wild, no protection of the WG nor being part of the League. Just a little helpless human, so easily forgotten, thrown into the cruel unforgiving world before he was ready for it. For the first time, he felt truly helpless, powerless, and those feeling only serve to further feed his frustration and anger, and in his warped vision, he see it now, the seeds of the so called "devil". In the end, what has the abnormality brought but suffering and sorrow? He had seen Snow's abnormality and he saw how she hated it, how drove her away from others, how it both harms her and the one inflicted by it. He saw the abnormality that gave birth to that walking bag of rot a disease they ran into at the forest, and how it brought death and sickness to everything it touched. He saw Abnorms of this gang, wielding their powers so willfully just because they can, and that it seemed virtually nothing could stop them. And then there's the source of his own sorrows, the thing that made even his own mother forget his face, his own recently discovered abnormality.

Unconsciously, his hand grasped in vain atop his now empty holster, he was itching for his gun. He'd give anything to put one in the between the eyes of one of these bastards right about now.

Jackson braced himself and began to concentrate when someone he wasn't expecting to jump in did just that; Vira. She had smartly deflected the boomerang back at Sizemore causing him to even watch. He would not waste this opportunity that Vira had so graciously granted him! At this point Jackson briefly recalled his former guild master's words on his power. ~Your power is immense Jackson and dangerous to only be used when no other alternative is available. That being said, an attack becomes more powerful if you put your being into it; giving it a name.~ Running at Crackerjack, Jackson yelled, "I will not let you endanger anyone anymore! My name is Jackson, and I will make you remember these words!" Jackson's fists became bathed in a brilliant white light, signaling his movement into stage 3, before he moved his right fist back to strike.
~Lights of the skies guide my fists!!~
STARDUST!!
SLAAAMMMMM!!

Jackson aimed true as his glowing ball of a fist sailed straight for Crackerjack's unprotected abdomen.

Vira

Tib199u.png

Vira had been meaning to deflect Crackerjack's attack. Sending it flying right at Mr. Sizemore, hoping an explosion would be enough to deal some damage to the beast of a man, but that odd shape and flight path that Crackerjack had given one of his 'jacks' was what threw it off and caused it to hit the nearby building instead. She knelt there seeing she had failed, feeling the fatigue of her injured, scraped body, and the fact that she hadn't accomplished what she had set out to do. Not to mention all this was apparently her fault. Harbinger could somehow read her mind... Or was it.. 'The One'? That was when she felt yet another spike of her power. Glancing up, she watched as Harbinger flew down at Jackson, beady black eyes gleaming with the man's reflection. He was going to stop the man's attack! Saving Crackerjack?!

Vira simply couldn't allow that. Groaning with the effort, she pushed off her knee and got to her feet. Stumbling once, she cracked her neck and back, only to feel her feet carry herself forward quickly. Bolting, she aimed to intercept Harbinger, so Jackson would continue to have his straight shot at an exposed Crackerjack. Harbinger noticed Vira and growled at her, she returned his harsh glare. Their clash was inevitable.

Thank god for her power. Vira could feel exactly where Harbinger would strike. If she didn't have this power, he most certainly would have killed her; she could feel it. The power behind his attacks were with a purpose like she had never felt before. He flew at her, took a direct downward slash, that Vira sidestepped easily, but felt the impact of the wind right beside her. It cut a harsh scar down into the ground. She swiped her sword, but he deflected easily with a burst of air at her attack. He retaliated quickly, stabbing forward with his hand, surrounded by flowing wind. Vira barely managed to roll to avoid it. She leaped to her feet and took another slash. This time, Harbinger floated there grinning; her blade bounced... off of air. She had felt it, a surge of wind encircling Harbinger's body -like armor. Standing there dazed, Harbinger slashed at her with his sickle. Alarm bells rang in her head, and she brought up Venom just in time to block the point of his weapon. Right before it would've sunk into her chest. The impact itself, though, sent Vira flying backward. She smashed into some crates, and lay groaning.

Meanwhile, Jackson had time to get his attack off, with Vira distracting Harbinger. His 'Stardust Slam', was a powerful glowing strike of raw power. Crackerjack hadn't imagined someone would get the better of him like this. He brought his arms in a criss-cross, with his power glowing to block Jackson. No dice. The man's eyes widened, and Jackson hit his block, broke through it, then struck his chest dead-center. The block had exploded to try to arrest the momentum of Jackson, which was the only reason Crackerjack survived the hit. He was thrown back, hitting the ground, rolling along the ground. Coughing, the man's straw hat flew from him, singed by the explosive impact. Blood dripped from his mouth. His face was contorted with pain, shirt was ripped straight open, a smoking fist mark on the dead center of his chest. But he was alive. Glancing up, he narrowed his gaze on Jackson.

Vira climbed out of the broken crates. Her eyes spotted a 'defeated' Crackerjack. Good, now it was time to bluff. Wiping her own mouth of blood, she stood back up, forcing her back to straighten so she could stare down the Abnorm she had chosen to be her opponent. "HARBINGER!" she called to him, just as he was about to move off to defend Crackerjack again. He turned to look at her. As sure as ever, she snickered, "It's over. Time to end this." He stared at her incredulously, then burst into laughter, slapping his knee. "I mean it, Grim Reaper-wannabe. You and your fellow The One are finished. Give up... and I might not kill you.." A lie, she would kill him if she could, they both knew it.

Harbinger straightened up, looking at Vira. He sniffled, and rubbed his eye. "Hahaha..~ Is that so? Ahhhh, intriguing. Because from where I am, it looks like you can barely stand. And to think I was warned about you."

'Crackerjack. It is time...'

The words he was dreading hearing. Shaking, Crackerjack managed to get to his feet. Still staring Jackson down, he was breathing heavily, his chest with the fist print on it heaving. "She's right, you know. It is over." His eyes flashed a golden-orange. "Time to end this. -What did you say Jackson? 'Stardust Slam'?" He snorted, "Cheesy, but if we're having a bit of fun here.. Then how bout this.." He stood up, holding his hands out. Darkly he named his next move just like the man. "'Final Firework'." Suddenly Crackerjack's entire form began to glow a bright orange light. It moved over his entire form, engulfing him entirely. The area around him began to quake and spark. The telltale sound of Crackerjack's explosives whistled through the air..

Mr. Sizemore, now watching the scene, had his eyes widen. "Crackerja-" He bent coughing, clutching his chest. His eyes went hazy, struggling to focus. His heart was pounding. He felt weak, despite being a massive giant, he felt like a weakened child. He knelt down, breathing hard, but he continued, "Crackerjack!! No! This.. this.. Must stop!" The big buff man shouted out, his voice sounding over the entire town. His eyes were filled with the golden man glowing below him. "Crackerjack!!! Stop it!! This is madness!!"

Crackerjack, standing there, made no movements other than his mouth. When it opened a lighter white could be seen from within him, just like the blank white spaces for his eyes. "I hear ya big man, but you know it must be this way. I have my orders. As do you."

Mr. Sizemore shook his head, wheezing. "No, Crackerjack! Even this is.. is not worth it!" This was weird, coming from the big man. The one who adhered to orders within The One like no other. He rarely even spoke until today that is. "There are times.. w-where.." Another fit of coughing struck the giant. "W-where the cost is too great."

Warning...warning...warning
Boost has exceeded current system parameters.... continued use may result in system wide damage...
Patrick could barely hear his computer over the song raging in his head, the dam tune had picked up as soon as Snow had sprinted off. The old soldier shook his head to try and clear it, it helped just enough for him to catch Seconds request for orders.

Obviously catch Snow we have to...

Biological pathogen identified...blood of unknown type has entered system... running auto defense subroutine...blocking nerological reactions to pathogen...
The smoke billowing from Patrick's body took on a pinkish hue and that damed song dropped in volume. It was still there but now Patrick could think clearly, protect the civilians and engage the enemy when and where you see fit, prioritize those attacking non combatants, he ordered the wardens before taking off after Snow confident they would follow his orders.

He sped through the town leaving a trail of smoke behind him, his impossibly long strides allowing him to move at speeds that would make Olympic sprinters gasp. He caught Snow just as a huge explosion rocked the town, and he lept wrapping himself around the young woman milliseconds before the shockwave hit them both sending Patrick sailing through the wall of a nearby building.

His vision blurred but he kept a tight grip on the pink haired woman as he smashed into the opposite wall the poorly made boards cracking from the impact. Patrick groaned again as he slid to the floor still hugging Snow defensively, his computer picked that moment to chime in...

Moderate damage detected... multiple fractures along left and right fifth rib... skeletal integrity at 86%... Overall system integrity at 75%... Initiating emergency shut down... Time until full system restore 14 hours...
His grip came loose and his now limp arms fell away from Snow, another groan found it's way out before he could stop it. The smoke around him began to dissipate and his eyes returned to they're normal color. Where the red lines had been there were now dull black scorch marks, and his entire body felt like he had slept in a camp fire. He coughed up a cloud of pinkish smoke, and his eyes tracked down to the young woman sitting in his lap, I'm getting to dam old for this, he grumbled at her.

'Hang on Kore! Just hang on!'

Relentlessly, Sera stabbed into the giant's ankle. With all her strength, she twisted and pulled, trying to cause as much damage as possible before the giant reacted. But it wasn't much. It took huge amounts of effort to sink the blade into the thick skin -- like an ant trying to impale a human's foot with a splinter.

The stabs caught the giant's attention though, just what Sera was hoping for. On her own, Sera knew full well she would not stand a chance at taking on this goliath. Like any other major threat, people must come together to confront and defeat it. This was no different. It was only seconds, but she hoped that the giant eased up on the pressure, giving Kore those precious moments of survival.

The knife froze in midair, just before the motion was completed, as Sera heard a loud crack in front of her. Taking a step back, she saw Scarlett, a murderous expression on her face as she poised her axe to strike. Sera's heart skipped a beat.Time seemed to freeze as she rapidly accessed the situation. A skill she developed over time, which kept her alive for this long. The ability to know when to stop whatever you were doing and just 'GET OUT!'

There was almost no time to react. Out of instinct, Sera turned around and sprinted, covering a few meters when she felt the wind that erupted from Scarlett's fearsom attack. She heard a sickening thud, the sound of metal upon skin. Still not looking back, she dived on the ground, covering her head as she braced for impact.

It felt like getting bombarded by enemy forces. Those few moments of dreadful suspense gripping the hearts of those who are out in the open, before the jarring impact from explosions carrying off the unfortunate. Sera's heart was pounding as she waited for the giant to strike.

It felt like there was a stampede of people running over her back while submerged in a fast-flowing river. The shockwaves traveled through her body, lifting her high into the air before causing her to crash into the walls of a nearby building. It knocked the wind out of her, but it was the least of her concerns. Taking in huge gulps of dusty air, Sera struggled to an upright position, rest her weight on her knees. She survived the attack at least, and it seems that Kore was no longer held captive. Slumping over on the wall, Sera felt like she just ran a marathon without stopping, while taking repeated punches to every part of her body. Observing the giant, it seemed to forget about her as more people from her group began to make their moves against the attacking abnorms. 'Good... I need to take a breather.'

No matter how much she wished for it, nor the protests from her aching muscles, Sera got onto her feet, wobbling a bit as she placed on hand on the wall for support. Keeping an eye on the giant, she retrieved her knife that thankfully didn't impale her when the giant stomped on the ground. Panting, Sera limped back over to Scarlett, who also had been hit by the shockwaves. She kneeled down, though it was more falling to her knees, Sera picked up Scarlett, and moved the both of them to safety. Behind the buildings, they would be out of sight and be given a chance to recuperate.

Leaning against the wall, Sera could not reduce the volume of her breaths. Using her abnormality had taken its toll on her already without being sent flying by a giant. She stole a glance at Scarlett, hoping she's be ok. "Hah... that was reckless.. ha... but it might have... been a good call. Good job."

A string of explosions jerked Sera's mind back. It must be the other abnorm! Why were they using such force on a city they raid for supplies? It didn't make any sense and it angered Sera. These people were living despondent lives because of this oppression. Steeling herself, Sera limped her way towards the explosions, keeping out of sight.

Peering out from a corner a ways away from Jackson, the bouncer from the bar, and the who utilizes and explosive abnormality, Sera witnessed their insane clash. Jackson's hands were glowing, punching through the projectiles thrown at him, standing his ground. She was mesmorized. So this was what it was like when two powerful abnorms fought each other? The surrounding buildings were not safe, as the black haired woman suddenly jumped in to deflect a massive projectile unlike any of the ones Crackerjack had launched before. The power was not to joke about either, as even Sera felt the winds pick up from that distance.

All these people were fighting, and it was to the death. Someone is not walking out of here alive. She had to act soon. Otherwise, things would head even further south if that was possible. Gripping the knife tightly, Sera moved back, repositioning herself for an opening. It was a stretch, but if she was lucky, she might be able to do something. And that is what she wanted, to do something, anything to help her friends. Comrades, even if she met them not too long ago, she did not want to see any of them go. Not this time. Not again. Fighting against the pain and soreness, Sera made her way around the building, where she could see almost everything, waiting for an opportunity.

The Projections -

The First did not like the idea to leave the town without killing every singe one of the thugs that were still fighting. However it was true that the town began to rally against the invaders - they are still powerless soldiers with no true advantage over the enemy force. The town itself may resist to the idea of a tactical retreat but the projections would so persuade them into a new plan.

The Second nodded in respond, "It shall be done-" then Patrick quickly ran away in order to do the same, as it seems. A new explosion blows up a nearby building, but the projections did not seem to move from their spot, standing ground as they look at each other; "Remember the oath-" the second turned around, sharing a very expressionless yet purposeful feeling - an ideology, "Never act with cruelty not even for revenge." the First shook his head as he saw how the Second extended his hand, and so did he, "Never give up - always fulfill your promises." the Fifth extended his own hand, nodding as he followed the two, "Never give in, never leave anyone behind." the Third took position as well, setting her hand with the group, "Never act with cowardice, do what is right, not more nor less -" everyone looked to the spot left, Fourth's position - the one whom was meant to end the phrase. No one took her place - no one spoke the last words of the oath. The Second let go of his hands and so did the other three.

They aimed to different directions and pursue to defeat quickly whatever lesser men where left to be defeated and rescue the town and civilians from harms way - avoiding the powerful danger that represented Harbinger and the two followers.

Kore Dair
Keeping her attention on the battle unfolding, her head snapped back to Ryuji when he twitched, from what she could see the poison seemed to be taking its toll.
This is... Not good. She felt awful, he was going through all this because of her, because she was stupid and too weak to be able to take on that giant. Speaking of which, things looked to be getting more and more violent - and Kore desperately wanted to run back to the woods. Unfortunately, she was in no state to run, and she wasn't about to leave Ryuji here, so Kore was stuck in place, as she listened to these people fight, watching some of them from behind some rubble.
Racking her brains, she tried to remember all the symptoms nightshade had, she had witnessed the effects of the poisoning before, when two humans had eaten the berries after mistaking them for something edible. They had slipped into a coma after a lot of suffering, and eventually died... And by the way Ryuji was sweating, Kore felt it was safe to assume she would need to give him a lot of water, and maybe even food if he didn't wake up soon. This is your fault... If you had just stayed away, left them, or stayed out of it... Her mind was in turmoil, she knew this wouldn't have happened if only she were stronger, if she hadn't messed up and misjudged her jump, she could've injected the poison straight into the giants spine, along with stabbing him straight in the back of the neck - causing all sorts of damage. But she had messed up, and Ryuji had payed the price for it.
Shaking her head, Kore turned her attention back to what seemed to be the final stand off.

Snow

Snow was running through the streets as fast as her legs could take her. She had seen Ryu and Kore fall from the sky! No way they were fine… she needed to help. Somehow. But then… it happened. An explosion rocketed through the town and Snow knew she was about to be thrown like a rag doll when Patrick caught up to her and caught her. They were slammed into a wall, her body protected by his since he took the brunt of it.
But they were in a blood bond, what happened to him she felt.

Her eyes opened slowly, the dust and hue of fire causing a red light to be all over the town. Her eyes went to his and she gasped, watching as the power boost left him slowly. Tears welled up in her eyes, as she tenderly touched her ribs and his, the ghost pain excruciating. “Oh god Patrick… you’re hurt.” Understatement of the year Snow.

She sat in his lap, the sounds of battle surrounding them from all sides, crying softly. He was injured because of her… She rested her head on his shoulder and laughed softly through the sobs. The tears stung and burned, the dust getting in her eyes.

“You aren’t old. You’re like thirty Patrick.” She did not know how old he was for he hadn’t told her. She only knew what he looked like. Her gaze found the scorch marks and she hiccuped, her bottom lip trembling. “Look what I did to you…” She whispered, the song playing so soft now in her mind. It always increased when two things happened. She exchanged blood with more than one person or if she and those she was blood bound too were too far away. The closer they were the more silent it became.

“I’m sorry… I’m just… I’m sorry Patrick… that I got you hurt. I hate it. I hate it so much Patrick that this is what I do to people… I get them hurt.”

'Kill them. Kill them all, Crackerjack. The One demands it. All of their deaths. Svitch has earned its death sentence. Not just the Abnorms, everyone.'

Those words continued to repeat over and over in his head, like a broken record. While he didn't believe in murdering everyone.. especially the innocents, who had done nothing. He had to follow orders from The One. That's just how it was. He could feel it... his time was coming soon. He glowed brighter, hotter, the whistling growing louder.

This was it. He could feel it; he knew it. Crackerjack was to never use his ability in this way, the both of them knew it. They had been partners since... well, since forever. Even before they joined The One, when they were just kids. The two knew each other entirely. He could feel it... his friend's death incoming. Mr. Sizemore clutched his chest tight, groaning loudly as thunder. His heart began to skip, and his throat tightened, while simultaneously expanding, his stomach quaking. He lurched once, coughing up some bile. He felt like throwing up, but he couldn't... Right now he had something to do..!

She had rushed Harbinger, to get a free attack in -hoping for the best. But of course, the hooded snake knew it was coming. He easily dodged to the side with a gust of wind. He then quickly spun and punished her, sweeping the alley they were in with wind that brushed her away hard. Hitting the ground, she grunted painfully, rolling along the dusty ground. Though her body felt like it was on fire.. from the few hits she had taken this fight, to her power, she knew she had to do something. She HAD to stop them, had to stop Harbinger. Getting shakily to her feet yet again, she lifted Venom, her blade of which she had held onto the entire time. She was about to attack him, but then something caught her attention. Harbinger, too, didn't seem to notice she stood back up.

Vira stared at the man who was glowing a bright orange, light shooting from his mouth and eye sockets. That unbearable whistling ringing in her ears, mixing together with her own alarm bells within her mind. Inside, Ellie was also stunned into silence. It was like she could feel what was coming too. What Vira felt... was nothing like before -a trend today-, she could feel it. All around her, metaphorical burning flames, a sensation of death. She knew, Crackerjack's next explosion would dwarf all his other ones. This 'Final Firework' -so named because of Jackson's cheesy naming of his attack, but it was still an apt name-, would decimate everything around. It would engulf the entire town and raze it and some of the neighboring forest to the ground. He was going nuclear.

No amount of running would help. Not even if she bolted right now. Crackerjack's explosion would travel too fast, it would incinerate everything and everyone. All of these wonderful people, and all of these less-than wonderful people, and still also, all of these assholes, or sweethearts, or bitches, or bastards. Even thugs from The One (who weren't dead yet) would die in the resulting explosion. It wouldn't discriminate. Her power gave her a horrific image of a rounded bright orange-red blot on the land, incinerating everything. She had failed to help any of these people, and that felt like a pain within her heart. Anyway, there was no outrunning his self-bomb. He was taking everyone with him. What Vira's power was telling her... 'immediate death'. Danger she could not avoid, danger that would kill her. The images were painful, she shook her head to clear it of them. Swallowing down her dry throat, Vira muttered sounding rather sad. "Goodbye, nice knowing you all... Hello Ellie, seems I'm coming to you sooner than expected."

'It's okay Vira, I look forward to our reunion. You made me proud. So so proud.'

'No I didn't, don't lie. I did fucking jack and all. Trying to live better... and what? I couldn't even kill one of these fuckers. I couldn't save anyone. I'm useless, like that Abnorm-Hunter. I've done nothing to win your pride.'

'People don't 'win pride'. You are not useless Vira...'

'I'm a bitch. A drunk. I deserve this.'

'No you aren't. And dammit Vira, no you don't! Listen to me!! Listen to your sister!'

"Crackerjack!" Mr. Sizemore's voice thundered out, causing the glowing man to look up at the giant, with his white-soulless eye holes. "Please. Stop this. You will die. Everyone will die." His voice, though croaking with pain, obviously as he struggled to talk, was filled with remorse and empathy, even a bit of sadness. "I know The One commands it, but... You will kill everyone. -That cannot be right!" The both of them were on similar wavelengths. Crackerjack knew many of the townsfolk were completely innocent, just trying to live. Some of them had already suffered ill 'punishment'.

"Orsin..." Crackerjack hissed forlornly. "I understand, but I have my orders..." Besides, what was done could not be reversed. He had asserted too much of his power already. The whistling was like a fuse timer. He would explode no matter what he wished now.

"Egan.. I will.. Ack!" Mr. Sizemore fell to his hands and knees, smashing some structures he did not mean to smash. When he fell the ground shook. Still clutching his chest, he continued, sweating hard. In his own mind's eye, like Vira's, he could see a massive explosion. Then a small singed crater of which nothing was left alive. "I will stop this madness. I will save you..." He couldn't stop Crackerjack from exploding. They both knew it was inevitable. However.. he could try to contain the explosion.

Bending backward, he got up once more, but it was obvious the effort it took the giant. He did not move as fast or as smooth as he had before. He reached down and picked up Egan. He lifted up the glowing man, his hand burning where he held him. The two stared at each other, before Mr. Sizemore grew bigger still. He then opened his mouth and tossed Crackerjack inside, swallowing him whole. The insufferable whistling heightened then ended. A tear formed at the giant's eye, before light flooded the giant entirely, then beamed out from him. A bwaaaaaaaaaaam like Inception sounded out, with a flash that engulfed the entire area.

The shockwave knocked Vira off her feet once more, sending her tumbling, but there was no fire. Nothing engulfed her, nothing incinerated her instantly. In fact, only the immediate area around the giant felt a strong shockwave, that smashed up even more of the surrounding town, but at least there was no massive explosion that would destroy everything and everyone.

As Vira opened her rustic eyes, she took in the sight before her. Buildings were pushed out like a bowl, but it seemed to be "mostly" okay... No explosion, nothing. Where the giant stood was some scorch marks, but he was completely gone. Vira could not believe it. She coughed, then collapsed.

Harbinger, too, disappeared without a word; turning to wispy winds, he evaporated into the air.

basically everyone :P since this is a turning point in the rp x3 and it basically signifies the end of the battle :)

Patrick raised an eyebrow as he listened to Snow, she was so young, to young to be put through this. Slowly, agonizingly slowly, he brought up his hand and flicked the girls nose, Now listen here, you didn't do this to me, my own abilities did. I knew what your power did, and I was pretty sure about what would happen if I ever got pricked by those thorns of yours, but I did it anyway. Because you are worth protecting, he winced when yet another shockwave shook the ground.

As the shaking subsided so to did the sounds of battle, the old soldier turned his attention back to the crying young woman and his voice softened, you share the pain of the people you bond with, you don't hurt them Snow, you give them a push.

Patrick coughed up another cloud of pinkish smoke as his computer continued counteracting Snow's blood, which only made his ribs hurt more, the silent hiss he made in response to that pain only caused his burned nerves to ache. I need a smoke, he grumbled.

Snow

Her small nose crinkled as he flicked it, her crying lessening. He knew what her power did… then why did he touch her? She gave people a push… not likely… but… maybe? The song was slowly fading as he expelled more and more of the blood. She sniffed and wiped her eyes, relaxing under the influence of his calm demeanor and voice.

“Worth protecting… I don’t think so. But thank you.” She whispered, keeping her thoughts locked. She would not remember how he was alive when she ran like a coward. How she… she let a human tell her he could save her. That she was stupid and selfish and cowardly… worth protecting… no.

Murderers didn’t need protecting. And that was what she was… she knew she was being hunted and still she stayed with him, her first love. She knew that she was a walking target with no abilities whatsoever to save her own skin. And the most important part… that night… when he told her to run… Snow to this day wasn’t sure if he had been saying anything at all.

She got up slowly off of him, kneeling beside him, her teeth biting down on her lip in a nervous tick. “I saw Kore and Ryu fall from the sky… and that explosion… we have to find everyone Patrick. I don’t know if I can help but… I can try. Can I help you move? If we find Sera maybe she will know how to help you.”

Snow gently took his hand in hers and squeezed. “I need to find help for you Patrick but I’m not leaving you alone. Not after you’ve helped me basically… what does this one make it? Three? Four? First was the bandage, then the hill, and then the lake… the alley and now this. I think I’m kind of really indebted to you. So the least I can do is make sure you get proper care.”

Thief & Freerunner
Ninth Ninth

"Done? Heh, I ain't even warmed up yet!"

Sometimes being a thief had it's upsides. Your own hours, no boss, no commitments, easy money, fame, you know, the good life. At the same time there was downsides to it such as the law constantly trying to get you, not being able to get a stable job, and most of all, the people that know what you do, want you to do it for them. Well, that would be how it usually was, if Bryce and his partner didn't completely adore the thrill of the chase and the endless amount of attention that they always received.

"-after that, is when we ourselves will come in to finish up. Did you get all that?"

Oh, that's right, he was in a meeting with some shady character that wanted him and Nyu to cause a distraction for them. Not their usual break and go job, but one that they'd be more than willing to take nonetheless. Blinking twice and giving the fellow a simple smile, Bryce nodded. "Course! Make noise, run around, keep 'em away from that sector! Easy!"

His response was a simple sigh and shake of the head. "Whatever. Just get the job done, and the payment will be at the drop off zone. Anything you pick up while there is yours as long as it isn't from the sector we want. Got it?"

Saluting cheekily, Bryce nodded once more at the cloaked man. "You got it chief! Steal and make noise! That, we can do!" Of course, this only got another sigh and head shake from the figure in front of him. Bryce watched in amusement as he walked away, muttering under his breath about annoying thieves and their quirks. Honestly, he wasn't wrong.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Standing atop the highest point he could find, Bryce looked down at where he had knew he would find his partner. Hopping down to sit besides her, he nudged her with a smirk. "I got a job for us! We get to make a buncha noise!" Reaching up, he started patting her head as a thought ran through his mind. "You still trying to say it, huh?" Already knowing the answer he just cackled to himself and went back to watching the landscape.

Kore Dair
Kore could only watch in muted horror as events unfolded, her mouth falling open slightly as the giant swallowed his friend.
Despite being a distance away, she was still blown onto her back by the shock wave, coughing as she looked up at the sky after it had gone, and pulling herself back up. She glanced quickly over at Ryuji, he was still in bad shape, but she tried to keep her mind positive, otherwise she may be completely overwhelmed by her dark thoughts.
Looking back over at where the scene had once been - she was shocked to find there was no trace of the giant... None. It was odd, to say the least. Kore had expected at least some gore from the exploding giant, but there was... Nothing.
Hmmm... Deciding she was being silly, Kore shoved those thoughts to the back of her mind, and looked around. Her vision was a little blurry, being knocked around and covered in dust meant she wasn't exactly in the best shape, but she could make out a few people from the group, which was nice. Despite her reluctance, she was developing a... Well, it wasn't quite fondness yet, but a dull, muted feeling of caring towards the people of the group. And as much as she wanted to deny it, she had to admit that caring was much stronger when it came to Ryuji, but he had shown her kindness, and saved her skin twice... And she had done this to him.
Although she had tried to avoid it, her mind did begin to spiral down, she couldn't help herself.
Sighing as her mind fell down its hole, she gingerly examined her body, to see if her injuries were worse than she first thought - just to take her mind off things. Gladly, her first analysis had been correct - she had some pretty bad bruising (in places there were bruises on top of bruises, from the various hits she had taken over the past 2 days) all over that was going to hurt like a bitch for awhile, her scar covered skin would make that pain worse, and she had cuts and scrapes here and there, a possibly sprained wrist and her bones (most notably her ribs) and muscles were also bruised, but other than that she was unharmed. Thank god she hadn't broken anything, or been hurt worse - even the injuries she had now would cause her a lot of bother and problems, so a broken bone was basically a death sentence for her.

Garret
future_trunks_by_posku-dak07pd.jpg

Garret had been lounging around in a lonely alley, ignoring and avoiding the massive ruckus. Of course curiosity ate away at him, but with no friends by his side he'd become his paranoid self. Digging around in the left pocket of his jacket, he pulled out a handful of stale pretzels. He really missed Caleb's cooking right about now......

This mouth-watering and semi-depressing thought flew out the window when he heard odd sounds closer and closer to him. Without warning, a man flew through the wall a mere yard away from him and crashed into the opposite building of the alley. Not realizing the building was about to fall, the boy was more concerned with avoiding whoever was the cause of a man crashing through buildings. As he started running down the alley, he heard and felt the last building the man had crashed into crumbling and collapsing.

Futilely, he gathered and launched a few plasma orbs to perhaps break large rubble from falling onto him as he ran but he came to a dead end and tried to climb the wall blocking his escape. Unable to scale the tall and almost seamless wall, he instead backed into the alley's corner as dust and smoke clouded his vision and overwhelmed his nose- causing him to sneeze endlessly as he was almost entirely buried by rubble.

Struggling to breathe and struggling to move at all, he at least freed a small gap above him to breathe somewhat fresher air out of. Garret could feel almost all of his limbs were pinned by rubble within rubble and he couldn't help but to cry out in pain anytime he tried to move anything. "H-Help!! Please, somebody help me!" Shouting in pain, fear, and frustration, he focused on calming down. He grimaced as he thought of every injury he could possibly have gotten and he winced at the thought of how he'd failed to steer clear of the ruckus. What's more... he'd wasted perfectly stale pretzels!!

Vira

Tib199u.png

"I could've saved it; I could've killed them all," Harbinger argued. He was away from the sight of what he considered a colossal failure. However, The One said differently.

'Mr. Sizemore betrayed us. Crackerjack has fallen. The battle is over. It is time you returned to us, Harbinger.'

"Yes, that asshole... and that fool... " He clearly was fuming, struggling to retain any of his usual devil may care attitude. A facade he put on for levity's sake, but really just hid the demon he was. Flying along on the winds, he was flying far away already. Apart of him wanted to turn around, and go back to slaughter everyone left alive. Crackerjack's final explosion was meant to kill them all, but the traitor had got in the way of Crakerjack's righteous duty.

'Indeed, but if it is revenge you seek, there will be another time and place. You will meet them again, if they continue to stand in our way.'

Harbinger growled. He sliced his gleaming sickle through the air. A large cut of wind struck a lone house as he flew over the countryside. It smashed through it, completely severing it and leaving any within dead, victims of a large violent, bloody slash. The hooded man then disappeared into the wind.

.~.~

"Kof koff!" Vira's dry throat heaved as she struggled back to her feet in the aftermath. Scanning the immediate area, there was no sign of Harbinger, or the other two powerful Abnorms. Everything had calmed down... Cries, wails, pained groans, coughing like Vira's, all permeated the air, while crackling fires lit up the night sky. Svitch was in ruins after the chaos. Though some goons still moved here and there, The One had left as quickly as they had come. 'The One' being Harbinger. Everyone else he had brought with him was fodder, that was uncaringly discarded and left behind.

..

Wincing, Vira moved through the town, stepping over rubble, bricks, shattered wood. "Unfgh!" the chick grunted, stumbling over some steep debris, catching herself just before face-planting. With the immediate threats gone, Vira's power was low, but no less irritating, as it was an annoying constant buzz. This was the worst she had been in quite a long time. "Heh, can't remember the last time I was hit..." she chuckled, coming up upon a collapsed building. And in this battle she had taken no less than three direct hits, not to mention indirect blows. Harbinger was powerful... if he could land hits on Vira. Then again, it was hard to 'dodge' wind.

Her power had surged moments before, signalling its complete collapse. Vira had wanted to intervene, obviously, but with this limp in her gait, she had no chance of reaching him. With any hope, he'd still be alive under that rubble... Making her way over, she nudged a dead body of one of the gang members. Looking down, she tilted her head. The lady then bent down, and with some effort and burning sides, she dug around in his pants. There it was! A pouch of coins -probably stolen in this battle/raid. Now back to the man.. Sure enough, his scream came out. "Okay, okay, *khoff khak*, c-calm down. Sheesh," She knelt down, wincing. Then Vira began to dig through the dust, dirt, rubble, broken wood, and shattered brick. Quickly, his body began to free. She dug out his shoulders, then his left arm, and finally his right. "There, look, *khoff* y-you're fine big baby..." Grabbing him, she pulled back. Her power let her know it was safe to do so, and with a strong heave, Vira yanked him free. She fell back, pulling the weird man ontop of her.

"Ooffh! Acck! Ugh, grr, okay, get the hell off of me!" Vira growled out from under him. Pushing back, she nudged him off, then climbed back to her feet. Grabbing up her sword, she leaned on it like a crutch, stabbing it into the earth. With her other arm she snaked it under his arms and around him, pulling him up too. With no words spoken, she began the arduous work of helping him back towards the tavern.

Slowly they walked-limped there. Seeing it in relatively good shape considering, Vira gasped out, "Oh, thank god! Seriously, if this place was gone.. I would rather just be dead..." Stepping up on the wooden porch that lead in, she released the man, saying curtly to him. "There's a nurse around here somewhere... I think you can figure it out. You're a big boy." She turned and stepped on inside the tavern. Vira made her way up to the counter, dropping a small pouch of coins. Reaching over, she grunted, "Ungrrh..! Gah.. got it!" Yanking a bottle of hard liquor free from behind the counter, Vira stumbled over to a table that was still set up. Yanking out a chair, she collapsed into the thing, creaking the wood. Wrestling with the bottle, she managed to free the cork and placed it at her lips. Rearing back, the darkhaired chick began downing the burning liquid.

Garret
future_trunks_by_posku-dak07pd.jpg

The scent of blood and destruction filled his nostrils as he tried to just focus on breathing. Someone finally responded and he felt relief wash over him. For some reason he almost felt like he was in a trance of some sort. It could have been blood loss or even shock, but he tried to ignore it and furthermore tried to ignore the pains and aches throughout his body. He didn't think anything was broken or too badly injured but in several places he felt and smelt the warm blood trickling down his skin.

"Thanks.." Garret muttered to the woman who'd called him a big baby. Normally he'd have gotten angry but at this point in time he was just glad he didn't end up trapped there until death lead him away. Weak and also being pulled free finally, he fell on top of her- and before he could say sorry and get off of her, she pushed him off only to help him up moments later. They made their way to a tavern he somewhat recognized and the angry woman let go of Garret at the porch and said something about a nurse before lightly insulting him again to go off on her own.

Everything still seeming trance-like, he took a few moments to understand what she'd even said. A small realization coming to mind, he slowly reached up to one of his jacket's pockets and carefully checked the contents before entering the tavern and sitting down looking a little glum. Any pretzels he'd had stocked up in his pockets had been turned into crumbs.. Garret shook the laughably saddening thought away and looked around at the others in the tavern. Almost all of them looked and smelled... different. Inhuman. Like him.

The boy looked around curiously to see if he could decipher which was the nurse his angry savior had briefly mentioned. Instead of figuring out who it was, he decided to simply look himself over first. For the most part it simply looked like he was considerably bruised up, aside from a good number of minor cuts and two somewhat large gashes. One gash was on his left bicep and the other was in his right calve. Without knowing where the nurse was and without the want to talk to anyone until his trance-like state turned back to normal, he simply tore strips off of the bottom of his baggy gray sweatpants to turn into bandages until he found the nurse. All that his nose could smell was blood- although most was not his own. Garret lay his head on the small table he'd seated himself at and waited for his vision and comprehension to become less blurred, looking like a bored schoolboy in the process.

Jackson was a little shocked when he punched Crackerjack and even more surprised when he saw that he was still standing. More likely than not, it was due to his explosives attempting to lessen the blow much like what Jackson had done during the start of their encounter. Of course, this encounter was about to end as he simply made himself glow entirely and it seemed as though he was about to rain unholy judgement upon them. Jackson could deflect a few of his explosives, but not this many! Suddenly, Sizemore and Crackerjack started to argue until Sizemore picked up Crackerjack, swallowing him, and absorbing most of the blast at the cost of his own life. Harbinger soon left the scene as the mission was a failure in his eyes more likely than not. Of course, the individual behind him was still clutching onto him and was probably shocked at the events that had just transpired. Jackson decided then to go back to the bar to recuperate as he moved from stage 3 back to stage 1 in a move to regain his energy and conserve any he had left. Once inside, he walked over to a table and turned to the individual on his back and said, "You can let go of me now you know?"

Location: Near the bar.

Active Projection / Character: First - Second - Third - Fifth.

Time: Meanwhile / After the shock-wave.

Actions: Shock-wave reaction - Action's results - Patrick's fate.

As told - every single projection worked together in order to protect as many civilians as they could, rallying with the mass giving advise and tactical enhancement. The fight would become less stressful at each corner, step by step from below what was truly important - Both the giant and power-tosser; not adding Harbinger himself since he seem not to interact in the fight at all.

Then - all too sudden for the Projection to even witness, the giant ate a star without a second thought... and the star burned him inside out until there was nothing but a shock-wave that expanded upon the town, marking the end of the battle on it's own. Some may cheer for their clear victory, others with a shattered moral would ran before their utter defeat - The Projections, stood there in complete ambiguity, understanding the balance has once more restored only to be retaken by the chaotic disorder of this group.

It was too late to pursue a different route for the faith of this town, it was also unneeded by the time being that these people understand the position in which they are.

The Projections began to retreat once more, not because of oncoming storm but to ensure the plan has gone as it was expected. In order to finally end their objectives, each a projection focused on their own interested at hand.

The First materialize itself in a rooftop, seeking, hunting through the fog the presence of the so call Harbinger, but the man has long since gone. There was no end in searching him yet First found itself reckless. It would take time so he could ultimately comprehend there were more urgent matters.

The rest: Second, Third and Fifth; encountered Mr O in a very bad shape. The Second moved his robes behind him as he reached for the 'Old man' whom seem to be too beaten up to speak sense, "Smoking is not advised after such a catharsis." responding to what Second heard from Patrick before the child so spoke on his behalf. The Third made a step forward but stopped as she saw the child mumbling something about proper care, "Second - What shall we do now?"

Fifth moved towards the child as he stated, "Hey - Don't worry little brat!" his naive cherry-full tone struck through his voice, "Mr. O won't be harmed. You see, we are-" he looked over his shoulders, wondering if it was correct for him to say such a meaningful word, "Friends."

"We will take him to the nearest outpost - then The Warden shall confirm our... doubts."
The Second nodded towards the Third and the Fifth and they moved to raise him on his feet, but the Second understood the child might be a problem in the future if she could - somehow - by her own abilities might be related to Patrick now, "Child - Return to your masters, your intervention here is no longer required." "Wait - are we seriously-" "Fifth." Fifth shook his head and stated, "The brat has a group with a nurse. Second, I thought we are not meant to intervene." "Mr. O receives special treatment with us. He won't stand beside people whom had brought terror to the town"

The First would suddenly arrive, landing on the ground. He would take a few steps forward and then stare at the child - Snow. He would then spoke quickly, "Take her with us as well. End of the discussion." with done, he directed himself towards Patrick, having tremendous strength, more than the three of the projections combined, he would with ease - raise Patrick on his arms and take him away, unless if he so resisted.

"Another one? Is that-- nngh!" The force of the shockwaves generated by Crackerjack traveled through the walls, nearly knocking Sera off her feet as she braced herself against the crumbling structure. Panic began to creep into her mind, clouding it and overriding her calm composure. She could really die if this continued longer, already struggling to control her ragged breaths. The attacks have been brutal, decimating the surrounding area. Awaiting further tremors, Sera regretted choosing to stay near such shabby buildings; if anything were to fall, she wouldn't notice in time to avoid it.

Seconds passed, each feeling like minutes as she covered her ears and closed her eyes. This town was far from tidy, and getting sand in her eyes was the last thing she needed. However, maybe it had another chance. No more deadly explosions rocked the town. No more eardrum-bursting nuke going off. She inched herself around the corner, not knowing what to expect. Crackerjack had turned into what could only be that of a self-destruct, and judging from the giant's words, she must not be too far off. But, if he was going to sacrifice himself, shouldn't the blast be more powerful, or did the giant actually contain it? Looking around, she was greatly surprised to see... only her group members standing?

Not that she was complaining, however the damage is done and it's not quite over yet. The wounded must be tended to. Pushing off the wall, Sera half-limped, hand on her side as pain suddenly flared inside. Now that the battle was over, the adrenaline masking her pain has worn off, and it was time to feel the consequences. With considerable effort, Sera forced her exhausted legs up the steps to the bar, stopping momentarily to glance at all those inside. She saw a couple new faces; and the bouncer-in-a-skirt was clinging onto Jackson.

'Guess his handsome face is bigger net than I expected...' She said with a strange momentary pang of sadness.

But so far, the atmosphere wasn't... grave. The thought that there were no casualties in her group filled her with hopeful energy, and as she concealed her limping, made her way to the first table she saw that was still left upright. One that just so happened to have a lady chugging down a drink like no tomorrow. And quite frankly, Sera didn't blame her one bit. On the way there, she saw someone sitting down that was looking worse for wear. He was bleeding from several cuts, a couple large ones, and had plenty of bruises. Despite her own weariness, Sera couldn't resist offering him assisstance in a short while. "Stay awake now, I'll... tend to you as soon as I can, ok?" She looked him over before kicking a chair's leg at her original table, knocking it just upright enough for her to grab it without bending over -- she was certain that she'd fall over if she did -- and plopped down on the seat, eyes closed. "Glad to see you're still around."

Einua gripped at his chest, his eyes shutting closed several times, each time he opened them, his scenery had changed drastically, the world swam with fruitless abandon. the leverage he had on his current state was ever so lacking, and it angered him deeply. gripping his fingers against the palms of his hands. names were thrown around and explosions went off, all this was numbed by the pain that wracked his entire body. He reached for his power, but it was no where to be found, and the pain in his side was only getting worse. he looked up to the girl that was currently supporting him, they were almost the same height, funny enough. " i ...i want to fig-" He coughed again, heaving over in pain, his body was in no condition to be fighting.
