Other Unpopular Opinions

Being a rebel here and not joining in this rather dark conversation.

I like a lot of Kirby villains, but I find Marx is to be overrated. Magolor, Susie, and Taranza to a small degree as well, but I think Marx is the worst about this. Not saying they're bad since they were enjoyable antagonistic forces, but why focus so heavily on them when you have other villains like Drawcia or Daroach?

Volunteers is one thing, but I am referring something a little more grisly and for the most violent and heinous criminals. Those monsters you hear about in the news that get sent off and they throw away the bloody key. Suffice it to say if they're put on death row they can be slated for experimentation. Live test subjects for weapons testing, neural hacking, implants...y'know some real Orwellian and cyberpunk style stuff.

We could use neurally hacked berserkers with implants to make them obedient and unleash them on isis. You fight terror with terror and we have to be more vicious and more cruel than the terrorists. Send a clear message that even their genetic memories won't forget. I shall call it the redemption project.

Ah, okay. It's this type of thread.

Welp. It's time for another obligatory.....

- Screw chat typing and abbreviations because I prefer proper grammar when typing on a phone to someone.
Holy crap yes.

Here's my opinion: I'm an atheist

Another one: this whole abortion thing shouldn't exist because people should know how to use a damn
condom
dammit.

A third: bathrooms aren't m,want to restrict you dammit. Bathrooms are only meant to meet the biological needs of the two biological genders wich we knew existed when we first established bathrooms.

Hadn't been 24 hours.
We've gone from pop culture opinions to politics to someone calling someone else a troll.
My guesstimate has officially been lowered to a 5 day lifespan.

Ppl who complain about others using text speech are exhausting & pretentious, especially if it's just via chat

People who correct other people's grammar is even worse

I'm not a vegetarian/vegan but I understand their points, and I'd even support them if I could afford to change my diet

Both the left and the right in modern politics are fucking ridiculous

If you're pro-life then you should try and find ways to help kids that get born into families that can't afford/want them, even if that includes donating money and/or time

Harry Potter is overrated

Asexuals aren't LGBT

Well what did you expect?

Don't put "unpopular opinions" then get upset people actually put unpopular opinions, serious or otherwise whether its pop culture, politics or games. This is the internet and anything goes and you get what you paid for.

Suck it up, buttercup.

I expected an answer with half an ounce of common sense in it and not sarcastic crap

Yes, and I have every right to criticize your unpopular opinion in this thread. I was actually expecting you to back up your opinion instead of resorting to a fucking textbook trollish answer.

Yes, I'm so sorry about getting salty about human experimentation.

And then the world was a better place, people stopped murdering each other, oh wait nevermind. Let's see... There's my Open Office file!

Calm thyself.
He was simply stating his unpopular opinion.
You don't need to criticize everything about it.
If you do, you're gonna lead the thread to its grave before its time.
And yes.
You are being lectured by a potato.

Well if you feel so offended that you have to criticize my unpopular opinions then do it, quit yer bitchin' and just do it. If simply stating my opinion as a form of "textbook trolling" then you don't need to be making these types of threads. What the hell did you expect?

Take heed the words of the potato, your saltiness and delicate sensibilities will render this thread locked and forgotten about.

First of all, what the hell do you mean making these types of threads. I'm not the OP. Do you mean messing up the thread? Well, I'm sorry but I think I'll just keep continuing.

I expected someone who was reasonable and would provide evidence that human experimentation with criminals is economically and scientifically viable for the world at large. Because this is not the reply I want. I want a proper response, not some response straight out of sci-fi/comic book fantasy and wayward predictions about the future.

I'll try to address this post seriously. I can't see in any way how this can viably be your whole, unadulterated opinion because it would be more right to believe that you are trolling. I want you to be trolling. If this was your actual opinion, I would be scared.

What would this require? Re-writing multiple constitutions of multiple countries and the legal systems of multiple countries all together along with the Geneva Conventions as a whole. The effort would be more than the gain, I'm afraid.

Do you know what the term 'death row' means? It means people who are awaiting execution after conviction for a heinous crime. Do you know what's even more shocking? The number of people who were innocent and executed in death row. While I don't oppose the death penalty, you surely have to think that there must be something wrong if innocent people were executed in death row. What if they were innocent and experimented on?

That would get a lot of people in hot water.

But, let's say you don't care about ethics. After all, it's a hot and messy business along with that silly human rights crap. Your 'berserker' idea is so stupid and so bizarre that we have no modern historical context to relate it to other than guys on PCP. Even then, using berserkers is going to make the situation in the Middle East more batshit bonkers than it already is. You've just ruined your own foreign reputation in front of other countries in the world.

I already criticized your post earlier in the thread by stating that we have tonnes of human volunteers already, who are not criminals, ready to undergo medical procedures. Why would there be the need for criminals to undergo experimentation? Especially, ones on death row? There has been a history of a number of innocent people on death row. If we experiment on people without consent who are later found out to be innocent, then, that would get some real hot-water.

So, why not use willing volunteers instead of death row inmates? Why not use scientific donors from civilians instead of criminals. Oh. Out of spite and because they're animals and don't deserved to be treated like humans. When do you believe a person doesn't deserve basic human rights anymore? Is it a point-based system where after one murder, that person gets to be experimented on?

Basically, this image in a nutshell to your idea.

If you really want to make this idea more viable, make human experimentation a choice to criminals rather than forcing it upon them. Using a small pool of death row criminals for experiments isn't going to magically advance the science of the world by a few decades or so. Organ donors are also possible, although, it would have to be from the permission from the criminal.

*rubs hand together* I could write a lot on this topic. (oh btw, if you were referring to me as the he, I'm a girl lol)
Well Palpatine was a truly evil, evil guy. A genocidal dictator of the worst degree. However, he was an utter genius. First, I admire his patience. For many villains burning with such rage and anger, it'd be hard to wait for the destruction of the Jedi as long as he did. He did not rush head first into his evil schemes, but instead he took a very methodical approach and planned for every possible outcome. To be able to do this takes truly impressive foresight. His manipulative abilities are unparalleled as well. He was able to manipulate the galaxy into going to war with each other. So while the galaxy tore itself apart and while the Jedi were heading down this self-destructive path, Palpatine was able to sit back and laugh maniacally. Recognizing the lack of affection Anakin received from the Jedi, Palpatine was also able to groom Anakin from childhood. He gave Anakin the love, care, and attention that Anakin so desperately desired, which eventually resulted in Anakin trusting Palpatine more than he did the Jedi. All the while, he remained undetected by the Jedi. The Jedi were able to sense a darkness growing in the universe, but they were completely blind to the fact that the fucking Chancellor was that darkness. Even as Palpatine made more grabs for power, the entire Jedi Order, the wisest of masters, remained oblivious to the fact that one of their closest allies was actually their worst enemy.

Now, onto Yoda... who receives way more praise than is merited. Yoda obviously isn't evil, but he and the Jedi Order aren't nearly as righteous as made out to be. And for all his supposed wisdom, in many ways, Yoda was an old fool. He clung to the Jedi doctrine far too tightly, and failed to see that in many ways, the doctrine was outdated and in desperate need of change. This is similar to when religious fundamentalists still follow a very archaic version of their religion. Yoda failed to see how harmful the doctrine could be. I mean, consider the standard version of the Jedi Code:
There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no chaos, there is harmony.
There is no death, there is the Force

To say that people cannot feel emotion or passion can be incredibly harmful. Understanding and processing our emotions are essential to our growth. The Jedi simply released these emotions into the Force... or they just repressed them. This is especially harmful to people like Anakin. Anakin grew up as slave, and when he was taken by the Jedi he was completely uprooted from everything he once knew-- especially his mother. How in the hell is it a good idea to take a slave child away from his mother and tell him he can never see him again?! Obviously this would result in emotional problems... Palpatine understood this, but Yoda and the Jedi did not.

Now, onto Yoda's morality. Like I side, he's not evil, but definitely not so kind and pure either. He allowed for the Clone Army, for one. From my point of view, the Clone Army was not much more than a slave army. The clones were born and raised in a lab with the sole purpose of fighting the Jedi's war. They had emotions, though, and some of them even developed free will. But Yoda and the Jedi simply treated them as machines of war and left them without any sense of agency. From the moment the clones were born, the Jedi already decided the clones' destiny and left them without any choice to change it. Yoda also allowed for the use of child soldiers (like Ahsoka Tano). I understand that the Jedi were in need of more warriors, and I understand that Jedi children/teens would be more mature than any other children/teens, but this isn't an excuse. Ahsoka was 14 years old when she first fought in battle. It is wrong to send 14 year olds to war. In our world, it's also considered a war crime!

Ultimately, arrogance was the downfall of both Palpatine and Yoda/the Jedi. Palpatine thought he couldn't be defeated and was unable to foresee Vader's betrayal. Yoda was too confident in believing that his way was the right way. As a result, he was totally resistant to change, even when change was what the Jedi Order needed the most!

That was a fucking mouthful.

You forgot to mention how the Emperor could have been preparing for the Yuuzhan-Vong from Legends. That makes all he did a necessary evil, not just pure evil.
