I have questions too...


1: Will personal Workshop be bothered in any shape or form?


2: Are we reverting back to the tabs we used to have for rping? (Like the tabs on top that told you: This is Ooc, this is IC, rules, etc)


3: Will any recent rps (out of the hosted project sections) that were made from the sub-forum layout be harmed? Or thrown about when we moved onto this site?


4: Is the site gonna be the same how it is now? Or is it changing styles again because I finally have gotten a love for it...

Define "one thread."

The purpose of an HP is to have multiple forums, as with forums you can have an unlimited amount of threads. This announcement is a thread. Most RPs on RpNation are a thread. If you have a big HP and are hardly using the functionality and RPing in just thread, you get moved out of the HP section to the regular section.

"One thread" being one page, one link, etc - like normal roleplays at this time.

Thread = topic, i.e. a chain of posts under one URL.  There's no point in what is essentially a mini-forum if there's only one thing in it.

Good. I liked the old site and I really missed it, plus BBCode will be coming back and that I knew how to use a lot better than HTML, even when friends tried explaining it. I can say I'll miss this version of the site too, but weighing the two options, it's a good lost for words.

No.

No. That was one of the reasons why we had to export outt of xF to begin with, that functionality was old custom work that was rooted into our site and we couldn't find anyone willing to maintain it any more even for money.

3: Will any recent rps (out of the hosted project sections) that were made from the sub-forum layout be harmed? Or thrown about when we moved onto this site?

No. No dataloss is going to happen, just like last time. Every single RP from before the swittch to IPS is still there, so when we switch back, they will all be there just fine .

4: Is the site gonna be the same how it is now? Or is it changing styles again because I finally have gotten a love for it...

We will have our Main Light Style, our Color Me Theme and a Night Lyfe, how they will look is not finalized.

I enjoy the structure, privacy policy, and general order of HP's much more.

Minus some visual changes and stuff, everything should be just fine and business as usual after the switch.


Every thing was fine when we did the switch to IPS until we realized that all the URLs people had bookmarked in their browsers, had swittched since it was a different software, though this time, I believe I can make old IPS links, redirect to new ones if xF changes them up.


No data loss should be happening apart from blogs.

Okay! That's good. That will definitely make things far easier.


Data loss hasn't ever been an issue with a change as much as suddenly having to remember what you named parts of forums if digging is require. lol. and remembering to write them down beforehand. x3

Blogs will not be making a return imediately, they aren't nearly as used as say the personal discussion forum or anything else to keep an entire section of the site dedicated to that. Status updates will be fine, so will likes(rep)

I was just thinking about that earlier today. With xF2 so close around the corner, I'm going to make sure whats left of our stay on xF1 is not cluttered too much by such addons and tiny features unless I can confirm that the creator of that functionality plans to update it to 2.0. After 2.0, we can see about adding that back in, I really like it and we have talented artists who can make the different likes this time around !

Of course. They're only reverting HP's with "one thread." If that means literally just one thread as opposed to an OOC/IC/Characters format, then that's fine.
