He's got arms and armor. His men called him Sir so presumably he's been knighted, he could easily enter service with another Lord. If his father refuses to ransom him, I'll simply force him to renounce any claims from him or his children to the territory I conquered in exchange for his freedom. Then he can either take up his sword as one of my Knights or I'll like exile him to Dyrnwald or something.
That's never gone wrong before.

He is 23 and is youngest child, has an older brother Tyran.
The second son eh? I think I'll just ask for a small ransom and send him back to Pappy. If Pops don't want him back then I'll release him into the wild in exchange for relinquishing his rights.

Lorsh Lorsh Speaking of the Ransom. Have I still heard nothing from the Island of Skerry about wanting their kid back or wanting their land back?

Meh, the longer I keep him. The more desperate he'll be. Anyways, question about the lore. Are ministeriales like in the HRE a thing in this setting? Essentially Knights/nobles who are of a high social class, but are not free men/serfs? I imagine that poor Knights could potentially buy their freedom through serfdom if that is the case.

Femboy Femboy Dreaming Divinity Dreaming Divinity If you both are still interested in playing as Dierdre could you guys join the Discord? I'd like to talk to you about the basics of how you interpret the character, what things are already set in stone, that kind of thing.

A lot of household knights are basically dependent on their lords for their living, but there aren't "true" unfree knights generally in this part of the world. Though, you could still argue that knights bound under oath to serve a lord for life aren't really free.

If someone else is also interested in playing the character I can let them just have it if its easier
