Dice The Stupendous Screwups - open - play by post - prowlers and paragons

Characters
Here
I was envisioning my Spider character as a less lethal character compared to the liquid form one that would make blades out if its body to cut into targets. So, I'll do the Spider chick and rock it with her.

Yup, I'm progressing along nicely. I have to polish up the sheet some and get a good pic for the character, but the bulk of my sheet is done.

Aaaaand I have my character done. At least, I think I do. It all depends on how our mighty Storyteller feels about my work.

I just need to type in my background and my telekinetic should be all done.

I don't know what this means
Your character behaves however you decide they do
Right, sorry. Apologies for being unclear, it's a problem I'm working on. See, Champions has special mechanics for when a character has 0 intelligence, which is what the character I was thinking of would have and is what they were build around. Now, I understand there are some flaws in P&P which might mimic that somewhat and I could always try to imitate those mechanics just for fun. However, if I use my idea for a literally brainless liquid-form hero in this campaign, I won't be able to take proper advantage of those Champions mechanics without re-using the idea, which is simply against my nature.

In other words, I could play the character that way, but I think the idea is better suited to another system, so I'm putting it on hold.

Now, as for ideas I'm currently consider, there's two which I like the most. One is a frumpy middle-aged former supervillain who throws assorted boomerangs to try and earn himself an acquittal. He comes from the most irreconcilable and uncivilized of places- Australia. The other is a vain aristocrat from a hidden and forgotten land who's as pompous as he is wealthy, which is to say excessively so. He wears magical armor and rides a dragon. I'm currently leaning to the former idea, as typical and honestly cliche as it is.

Oooohhhh now I understand. Both of your ideas sound cool

What kind of morality is there in this game? Are we all red, white and blue heroes like Superman, or are we darker characters that are more willing to use lethal force?
Oh yeah, if it helps, I had meant to paste this from the other thread: "justice league tone just means fairly light hearted, pg13, etc. Nobody dies with rare exceptions. Minimal blood if any. Fun for the whole family."

I'll add this to the first post

So, now that I've read most of the rules, is there a particular template I should use for my "character sheet"?
Plain text is fine, psychie did a tab thing in hers, if you want to do that I'm sure they'd share the code if you asked; you could also put it on Google docs so that you don't have to re-send or edit a post when you make changes. But you can do whatever you want as long as I can read it

I like the tabs. I feel it keeps my sheet better organized for me to be able to find stuff quicker with doing that.

So, I've got the backstory and general attribute layout for my character done, but I'd appreciate some advice on how to best create an arsenal of boomerangs in the system. I figure the item con will go on just about everything, and I'm thinking OmniPower could be used for miscellaneous boomerang types. However, I'm still wondering what "main" boomerang types to have.

Would it be better to post the incomplete character sheet in the character thread, or to wait and finish it before then?

My advice: blast - boomerang. make a variant for each boomerang type. Or we can simply make a custom power. Whatever you feel works best.

For the character sheet, just post whatever you have, and we can use that to brainstorm together.

Welp, I went ahead and posted the disorganized mess which is the rough draft of the character sheet.

One question I have is about powers and resolve. Does resolve account for the cost of a power, or just its rank? Say, for example, a power has a rank of 7, but counting pros and cons the final cost is 10. Assuming no other power or ability has a rank higher than seven, is Resolve 10 points or 2 points?

I need to figure out my resolve. That is one thing that I haven't done yet.
