"Arieeeel!" Riley said, her voice 'sing song' as she said his name. "You can put stuff in my backpack too!" She said, gesturing to the bag she had on her back that looked like any ordinary school kid's pack. She thought his plan of heading out while it was still daylight was truly exceptionally smart, and then they could spend some of the evening hunting down bats. By then they'd hopefully have more batteries for flashlights. "Do you have a flashlight? We can't search the school when it gets dark if we don't..."

"Hey, why don't we both just run?"
She offered. Riley would, of course, run no matter what Ariel did but she didn't see why he should stay behind and be self sacrificing when he could run as well. "I don't know how fast you are, but you look fast. And I'm fast. So if things get hairy lets both just run!" She liked that idea much better. Not that she really worried herself over what would happen to Ariel one way or the other- she just wanted to get to her dad. But she didn't want someone to waste their life to try and save her when she didn't need saving. And if Ariel were on his own he most certainly would not stay behind to distract them. "I can take care of myself." Riley added, just in case that wasn't obvious.

"Oh man.. you're right, they probly wouldn't have radios at a market. They may have batteries though! Maybe we could keep an eye out for another store... but the radio I'm thinking of isn't going to be the easiest thing to find because lots of technology doesn't go off of batteries anymore." Riley was beginning to head towards the exit route. She had only been through it a few times since arriving at the school.

"It's a lovely day to be out." Riley noted, though she made sure to keep her voice quiet. She was glad Arie had been right about now zombies being around the outskirts of the school. Just as suddenly as her chipper attitude had come, it vanished upon her first sighting of a zombie for that day. She went into a more focused mood, becoming extremely quiet as she followed the path back to town. She could be quiet when she needed to be.

Sven looked over his shoulder and shrugged off the arm and took a few steps forward,"My mask stays and with your permission stiff," he paused turning his head to Owen,"three bags seems fair for three days seeing it is the only thing i'll eat other then what I go and get." Sven looked at his situation and pondered his options. "I'm cool with stripping but my mask stays on, it's a personal thing plus even if I became one of the others I'm sure I'd not be able to bite through steel," Sven said knocking his knuckle on the steel of his mask. "Oh I almost forgot," Sven paused keeping the black lenses of his mask focused on Owen,"That bat would do some serious damage, I really gotta give you props for having the courage to get it though, never know what someone could have up their sleeve," Sven said with a low chuckle. "Alright so what first, pants, feet, chest, ba-," Sven paused remembering the large slash on his back, deciding best deal with that problem when he got their he continued,"arms, legs? I personally would recommend hands that's where most bites I've seen take residence."

Vann inwardly winced. Just because he was a man didn't mean that he couldn't be 'innocent'. I'm not like you, he thought to himself, I don't just strip in the middle of a store. Nevertheless, he did agree that stripping was the easiest way. Vann looked at Grim as Grim paused. Why did he pause in the middle of saying back? Was Grim possibly bitten or infected on his back? The concern that the man had yet to drink water rested on his mind, but it wasn't like not drinking water was a sign of the undead. Three days without water should hell, he wondered what the guy even did in the closet? Also, only three bags for three days? Grim was appearing somewhat suspicious, but Vann sincerely hoped that Grim wasn't infected.

"Do we strip right here or?..." Vann questioned, hoping that they would at least get some privacy.

Ariel let out a hum at Riley's offer to run away together if things get bad. He'll run for sure, but not until he was sure that the girl was safe. From what he has heard, it seems that she still has a family somewhere, and he wanted to get her with them as soon as possible. He, on the other hand, didn't even know if his family or friends are alive, having lost contact with them on the day he ran away.

"We can look for flashlights too while we look for radios. But who knows, maybe they have flashlights in the school, too." He said as they exited.

Ariel made sure to keep his voice down and lighten his footsteps. There are zombies lurking around for sure, but hopefully they're not as quiet as the two of them were being. Double-checking that Riley was still by his side, he made his way towards the market. He would occasionally see zombies in the distance, and each time he would grip his knife tighter. Thankfully, none seemed to notice them just yet.

He kept his bat raised, pointing it to a door over their shoulders. "There's a bathroom that Deanna will lead you to." (@LoveMyHate @SilverBlack ) Owen nodded at Grim, "Unless there's bites on your face, you can keep your mask on." He pondered at what the man said about retrieving his bat. Was the man trying to get his guard down? If not, was his personality simply like this? Nevertheless, he agreed with Grim although he was a bit irked by how the man chuckled. "Of course, I need this to kill anyone that poses as a threat." He continued, "And about how much you eat. Please eat scarcely if you want to last longer here. One bag of candy should surely be enough for three days in my opinion." (@jole875 )Owen frowned. He hoped the man wouldn't just gobble up everything he laid his hands on.

"So we don't have flashlights.. .probly a good idea to find a few."

Riley fell silent after that, knowing that there was no need to risk their lives just so that she could converse with the older boy. Her hand immediately went towards her pocket for her pocket knife whenever she saw one of them shambling around but her fingers only brushed the cool metal once or twice, never actually gripping the blade because she knew it would be better to run than to fight. At least for her, but probably for Ariel as well.

"Is that the right store?" She whispered, crouched in close to Ariel so that he could hopefully hear her. She pointed to a blue building that looked to be a market of some sort. She couldn't see from here what was in the windows, but it looked like a grocery store. "Ariel, what's the plan? Does one of us go in and the other watch the door or both go in or?" Her heart was beginning to pound at the thought of going into a building that could potentially house those monsters. With the power out it was dark in those buildings and you wouldn't see what was coming at you until it was much too late.

Vann shifted uncomfortably but decided to just get it over with. The faster I get it over with, the faster...well whatever I just need to get it over with He thought to himself. Stepping twoards Deanna, Vann asked, "May I go first? I would like to get this over with." One bag of candy for three days? Well I guess I shouldn't be surprised, I had to survive on a half empty bottle of water and a granola bar for four days. Perhaps I had subconsciously thought there would be more food here, and thus we would be allowed to eat more. What was I thinking, there is a zombie apocalypse going on and there's no food being made. He sighed to himself. Running a mental body check on himself, Vann concluded that there was no scratch or wound that was infected nor did he have any zombie bites.

A deep frown appeared on her face as she heard Sven recommending which part of his body she could examine first, already displeased by the fact that he wouldn't be taking off his mask. Her eyebrows twitched the slightest bit when he seemingly halted himself from completing a sentence, then said it's a good idea to start with his hands since most zombies bite humans there. "How about taking ya shirt off so I can examine everything in a single go?" She replied to him as a puff of smoke escaped her mouth, and a second passed before she raised her eyebrow, her voice slightly provoking with a hint. "Unless ya got something to hide on yar body, that is."

She could care less about his bag of candies after that, something Owen could deal with. Thus, her attention switched back to Vann as she stared with a scowl for a moment, before she turned around with a wave of her hand, where the cigarette was stuck between her fingers. Walking toward the bathroom, Deanna led the lad without saying much of any words--she would want to get this over with too, so she could deal with Sven--the man who appeared more suspicious--next.

The bathroom wasn't hard to reach, although once she stepped inside her nose wrinkled at the disgusting stench that lingered inside the room. Fortunately, the bathroom's not dirty, someone did make an effort to clean it after all so it could provide usage. "Take off ya shirt," she instructed simply once Vann was also inside the bathroom, and she shut the door behind him.

Ariel nodded in response to Riley's question. He had been here only once, but that was enough for him to remember the exterior of the market. He had never been in there though, having been chased away by several zombies before he could enter. It was likely that there were still zombies around here, just out of sight right now. "I'll go in first, in case there are zombies inside. You can watch the door for now, but I'll call you in when the coast is clear."

After scanning around to make sure the area was clear of zombies, he sprinted towards the entrance. Gripping his knife just a little tighter, he pushed the door open and stepped in cautiously. A horrible stench made his eyes water, and he couldn't help but cover up his nose with his free hand. He didn't see any zombies in sight, yet the odor told him that something must have died in here. He quickly made his way through the aisles until he reached the back of the market, where he found the source of the smell.

Ariel winced and took a step back upon seeing the bodies sprawled on the floor. Two of them were women, and three were men. All of them were covered in dried blood, but it didn't hide the hideous bite marks on them. If they didn't turn, then that means they must have bled to death first. Ariel turned away and put a hand on the wall to steady himself. He wanted to just keel over and empty the contents of his stomach, but he reminded himself that he still needed to get Riley. With that thought in mind, he sped back to the entrance, relieved that the odor wasn't as terrible there.
"There aren't any zombies inside, but you might want to avoid the back."

Renjiro let out a sigh. He just woke up an hour ago and the first door he opens just happened to have three ugly zombies dragging their feet around. He never should have left the music room; it was nice and secure with a lock on the door and everything. But he had to find food eventually, other than the empty wrapper of the granola bar he had finished for breakfast this morning.

The zombies had turned at the sound and were making their way towards him in their weird inhumane bodies. He let out another loud sigh and took the wooden sword from his back. Instinctively, he began to turn his head to look for people but stopped himself.
It's not like I didn't want people to see this. A zombie lurched forward to grab him but he dodged swiftly and brought the sword down on its neck. He kicked it away from him to make space for his sword to connect with the second zombie's neck. As for the third zombie, he just kicked it away from him and slammed the door shut. Just your average day at school.

He continued to stroll down the hallway looking for something that could be useful when he saw something at the corner of his eye. Two students were making their way to the exit of the school. From the way they moved, they were still alive and not rotting zombies.
Might as well as follow them; nothing left in here anyways.

They stopped outside a grocery store/market and the girl said something. The boy ran in for a while before coming out. Probably checking if there were zombies. Renjiro decided that this was the time to introduce himself. Really, he preferred being alone but the amount of zombies had increased in the town lately and it wasn't safe alone anymore. He stepped from the shadows, briefly pausing to deal with a zombie in his path before he tapped the two students on the shoulder.

"Hi"

Riley bit back a yelp, drawing blood from how hard she bit her tongue. She turned towards the shoulder tap, ready to stab the assailant with her pocket knife which she had drawn from her pocket when she found that it wasn't a zombie coming to eat her. Still, she couldn't stop the glare from settling onto her face from being startled.

"Don't you know not to do that to people! I could have stabbed you!" She said angrily, believing that had she struck out at him he'd have had no time to react. When she heard Ariel's voice, one that was becoming quite familiar to her, she turned back to him. So it was... 'safe' to go in, but not go near the back. She could accept that. She turned her attention back to the boy who had snuck up on her, lips still turned down into a pout. "We have a very important mission here. What do you want?" She demanded, fighting to keep her voice quiet as her anger continued to boil her blood.

Her attention then flickered back to Ariel. "Do you know him?"

Ariel looked back and forth between Riley and the boy. He thought that perhaps he was an friend of Riley's, but that guess was quickly proven wrong when she asked him if they knew each other. Whoever the guy was, it didn't seem like he got on Riley's good side, but in any case, it was nice to see another human around. Not that there was anything bad with just him and Riley, but the eerie silence in a big school could be unsettling at times. Maybe this would be a good chance to gain some allies. His gaze shifted ever so slightly to check the boy for any wounds. Bite wounds, in particular. The last thing they needed was for him to join them, then suddenly turn into a flesh-eating monster. There didn't seem to be any visible bite marks, but he would have to make sure to check thoroughly later on.

He shook his head as a reply to Riley's question and smiled hesitantly at the guy.
"I'm Ariel, and she's Riley." Gesturing awkwardly to himself and the girl, he looked at the boy expectantly. "And you are?"

@RubyRose @PhoenixFire13

Renjiro stared at the two people before him. A chibi and a smiley-guy. He saw the boy's eyes check over his body. For bite marks, probably.

"Renjiro. From Class 2-C. I'm not bitten. Yet."

Zombies were starting to swarm toward them so he pushed the two of them into the grocery store/market and closed the door. He looked around for something to hold the door in place. His eyes fell on some broken pieces of wood nearby. As he busied himself with the door, he tried to think of what he should say next. Nothing seemed to come to mind so he just said the next thing that felt normal.

"Nice to meet you."

Sven gave out a sigh as he turned his head to a cleaned out shelf and stepped towards it. Flicking his right arm he gripped the handle of his thick hatchet that came into a view. With an unseen yawn he placed it on the shelf. Reaching into his coat pocket he pulled out his brass knuckles and places them beside his hatchet. Slipping his hand into his coat he pulled out his broken gun, which seemed perfectly working from the outside. Placing it on the shelf with the rest, he turned his head back toward the group of people.

"It's only polite to put my weapons away," Sven's voice was less emotional and more mechanical as if he was forcing the words out with putrid dislike. "I'll wait for the avid smoker and the kid to get back before I strip, think you people might like it too much," Sven said with a slight chuckle.

Owen Wang

The boy watched Grim headed over to a shelf, making his bat follow the man's direction so that it pointed at his back. His eyes slightly widened at the sight of the weapons Grim laid out onto the shelf, especially the gun. Although he was grateful for Grim to disarm himself, Owen was relieved that he didn't try to attack the man. By far, he could've been seriously wounded even if he had his metal bat to swing and hit with. He let his bat stay pointed on Grim as the man walked back to them, giving a single nod in appreciation at what Grim said. "Thank you for your cooperation." He let his bat sway over to the shelf, "I hope it wouldn't be too much to ask you if your gun is loaded? You do know that sound attracts zombies. Unless that thing has a silencer on it." How he knew of gun terms, he didn't quite remember. Perhaps it might have been one of his coaches that would chatter about his days as a hunter. (@jole875 )

Vann followed Deanna into the bathroom, covering his nose from the stench. The bathroom needed a freshener, this was a general store so there should be some. Seeing that the door was closed, Vann begun to take off his clothes. Quickly stripping, he politely covered his private parts. "Well? There should be no marks." He stated, waiting for Deanna to pass her judgement. It was sort of cold in the bathroom, considering he had no clothes on, but Vann refrained from shivering. There was no need for the woman to question his manliness. Again. Anyway, Vann felt that the woman was more suspicious of Gas mask, Grim, than she was of him. In fact, her inspection of him felt more like an formality than anything else.

Riley protested at being shoved into the store randomly, the smell of death choking her air and causing any snarky remarks to be swallowed as she just tried to breathe. She pulled the neck of her shirt over her mouth and worked on breathing in slowly. She was ready to tear this Renjiro guy a new one when she noticed the zombies that were at the door to the store. SHe really didn't want to thank the boy, so she didn't, but she at least stopped glaring at them.

"Great, what's our plan to get around the pack of uglies?" Riley asked, gesturing at the nasty, rotting faces collecting at the windows. "You didn't lead them here, did you Mr. Renjiro of Class C?" She accused, turning a finger to wag at the older boy.

"Ariel, are we gonna hunt for stuff before facing those things? Because I think it'd be better to find what we need now." She suggested, though her expression was unsure.

Without putting up much of a fight, Ariel allowed Renjiro to push him into the store along with Riley. Zombies had gathered up somehow, much to his chagrin. It should be fine as long as they kept the doors closed, but there was the matter of how to get around them. There was probably too many of them to fight off, especially since the zombies are so packed together. "I'm sure Renjiro wouldn't do something as stupid as that..." Despite saying so, he couldn't hide the slight doubt in his voice. "We'll get what we need first, then hopefully find a backdoor to get out of. Will you be joining us, Renjiro?"

He struggled to keep the images of the corpses out of his mind as he walked deeper into the store. He was pretty sure he saw a whole shelf of water. There were plenty of canned food too. As for batteries, they'd have to look a bit closer for those.

@RubyRose @PhoenixFire13

Renjiro heard the accusations in their voices but since it was an obvious reaction, he didn't let it get to him. He shrugged and nodded his head affirmatively to the boy- Ariel's question. Why would he bother to help them if he wasn't thinking of joining them anyways? His hand subconsciously took out his phone from his pocket and placed it back in. His phone had already ran out of battery overnight.

Without paying much mind to the horrid smell and garbage around them, he leaned on the door and turned to scan the rest of the store. At least that way if the zombies manage to break in, he'll be able to strike first. The door was also the farthest place away from the back of the store, where the smell was coming from.

"I can sit here and think of a way to escape or I can help you guys look for supplies. Which would you rather me do?"

@Dawnsx @RubyRose

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_08/f60d9ac1a0c6c0_full.jpg.80d2498d6bb623dc15aed8fbc5952d6d.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="70795" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_08/f60d9ac1a0c6c0_full.jpg.80d2498d6bb623dc15aed8fbc5952d6d.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

Riley gave Ariel a shocked look when he asked if Renjiro would be joining them. Why wouldn't he? Not that Riley wanted him to.. in fact she preferred if he'd just stay put and get eaten by the zombies. Ok... maybe that was a bit harsh... but Riley doesn't take being startled very well. Especially not now in the world they were all living in.

"Why can't you think of a way to get out of here and help gather supplies?" Riley snipped at him before noticing that Ariel had already left to look for things. "Ariel!" She exclaimed before sighing. "Do whatever. I'm going to go be useful." She said in Renjiro's general direction before she removed the backpack from her shoulders and began to seek out things to put in it.

"Goldfish!" Riley crowed excitedly, stuffing a couple cartons of the fish shaped crackers into her bag. She also snatched up some candy bars... she hadn't had sugar in a long time and it was starting to become a craving for her. She also smashed all the packets of jerky she could find in the store into her bag. After that she sought out other things she didn't think would go bad too quickly and shoved that into her bag as well. When it was so full of stuff that she could barely close it, Riley made her way back to the front of the store, wondering what Ariel had found and when they'd be leaving... and if Ariel or Renjiro had found a way out of the place.

(Erm, what happened? Is this RP dead already?)

Renjiro shrugged in Riley's direction. He could do both but then there would be no one keeping an eye on the door. And personally, he felt like he didn't do a good job in securing it with just a few pieces of broken wood. But at the same time, he did want to get some supplies so he would be safe if he ever felt like leaving these two. He also had to find a better weapon than a wooden sword soon, before it breaks.

The girl soon came back with her bag stuffed to the brim so he decided he really should have some supplies after all. Reluctantly, Renjiro turned to the girl who looked like a middle schooler. He didn't want to have a little girl face the zombies, especially if they crashed through the door all together, but it would only be for a while.

"I'm going to get supplies. Can you watch the door?"

Without waiting for the girl's reply, he walked to a nearby shelf while keeping his ears open for any slight sounds that might indicate that the door was about to be busted down. He grabbed anything that looked useful. A bag, flashlights, batteries, a few granola bars, three bottles of water, a first aid kit, a pocket knife, and some matches. He dropped everything into the bag and slung it over his shoulder, returning to the door.

Now... if I can just get a katana, or at least a long metal blade ...
