"Arieeeel!" Riley said, her voice 'sing song' as she said his name. "You can put stuff in my backpack too!" She said, gesturing to the bag she had on her back that looked like any ordinary school kid's pack. She thought his plan of heading out while it was still daylight was truly exceptionally smart, and then they could spend some of the evening hunting down bats. By then they'd hopefully have more batteries for flashlights. "Do you have a flashlight? We can't search the school when it gets dark if we don't..."
"Hey, why don't we both just run?" She offered. Riley would, of course, run no matter what Ariel did but she didn't see why he should stay behind and be self sacrificing when he could run as well. "I don't know how fast you are, but you look fast. And I'm fast. So if things get hairy lets both just run!" She liked that idea much better. Not that she really worried herself over what would happen to Ariel one way or the other- she just wanted to get to her dad. But she didn't want someone to waste their life to try and save her when she didn't need saving. And if Ariel were on his own he most certainly would not stay behind to distract them. "I can take care of myself." Riley added, just in case that wasn't obvious.
"Oh man.. you're right, they probly wouldn't have radios at a market. They may have batteries though! Maybe we could keep an eye out for another store... but the radio I'm thinking of isn't going to be the easiest thing to find because lots of technology doesn't go off of batteries anymore." Riley was beginning to head towards the exit route. She had only been through it a few times since arriving at the school.
"It's a lovely day to be out." Riley noted, though she made sure to keep her voice quiet. She was glad Arie had been right about now zombies being around the outskirts of the school. Just as suddenly as her chipper attitude had come, it vanished upon her first sighting of a zombie for that day. She went into a more focused mood, becoming extremely quiet as she followed the path back to town. She could be quiet when she needed to be.
