Realistic or Modern Zero Point Military School.

Dark Sanctuary

Accursed, yet soothing.
Zero Point Military School. A new school that has been set up in America. It boasts facilities that rival that of current military bases and functions as a training ground for new potential soldiers. Having only freshly opened, it currently only intends to take in a small handful of potential people. After going through stacks of application forms, a select few have finally been selected and enrolled in Zero Point Military School as a squad. A lone figure stands at the school gates, awaiting the arrival of the new students, or recruits as they call them.

Adam sat in his father's car staring out the window. He was excited; not just for being accepted to the school, but to get away from his somewhat overbearing father would be a plus. His father thought everything in life was a competition to be won, and if Adam didn't win, he'd be a loser and his father wouldn't take that. If ever Adam 'lost' his father would act like he didn't exist or he had died, so needless to say to get away from that kind of pressure was exciting for him. "I expect you to be the best of the recruits." his father said sternly. "Of course." Adam said in monotone but with a hint of sarcastic bitterness. "Of course what?" His father shot him a glare. "Of course Sir." His father nodded in approval and pulled the car to a stop. "Alright. We're here. Get out." Adam got out, grabbed his rucksack with his belongings and closed the car door. The last thing his father did before he drove off was give Adam a stern to nod for him to get moving. That was how his father was; no goodbye, no 'I love you' nothing but a 'get out and be the best'. Adam sighed, shouldered his bag and marched to the gates.

The man at the gates was silently gazing at the car that pulled up and the young man that stepped out. The sight wasn't anything new to him. He had seen his fair share of clingy parents and those who never said much, only expecting results from their children. As the young man marched up to the gates, he shook his head.

"You're out of step. You swing your left arm faster than your right. What's your name?"

Adam halted when he was in front of the man and saluted. "Apologies sir. I will be sure to correct myself in the future. My name is Adam Stanford sir." He held his salute until told otherwise as he was taught. He also made a mental note to watch his arms when he marched, his dad would've beaten him if he found out he was already being called out for mistakes.

Then man nodded.

"At ease. As of now, you're the only one who has shown up. The others should be making their way over as well. My name is Ken Harvard. I've been serving in the army for years, climbed up the ranks and have seen my fair share of danger. I've seen useless numbskulls and great comrades in my time come and go. It is my duty to train you so that you don't die like an idiot out there, lying on the ground with a smile on your face and no bloody idea what happened."

Adam put himself at parade rest. "When it comes to useless numbskulls and great comrades my father expects me to be the former, but I hope I can prove to you to be the latter sir. If you don't mind me asking sir, what sort of training will be entailed?" Adam was eager to get started and prove his worth, with or without the other cadets. He intended on being the best, not because his father wanted him to, but because he wanted to.

Ken nodded at Adam. He had a will and a purpose to drive him forward, but was he prepared for it? Only time will tell.

"Actions speak louder than words. If you want something, work for it, don't just speak and expect it to happen naturally. As for training, you and the rest will find out when it happens. It's best to be prepared for something, but you can just as likely be unprepared for other things. I'll let everyone know the lessons when they come but the main few you can expect are as follows. Regimentation and discipline first and foremost. Acclimatization. Ballistics. Machinery. Technology. And so much more."

Kyle

Kyle arrived at Zero Point with his father, crossing his arms as they came to a stop. "I'm not leaving this vehicle. Hope you know that." He said with a cocky smirk to his father. Shaking his head, his father got out of the car and opened his door, unbuckling Kyle's seat belt and pulling him out of the car, despite Kyle's struggles. He was finally out of the car and had his bad on his shoulder, frowning at his dad. "Have fun." His father said and hugged him, getting in the car and driving off.

Kyle rolled his eyes and turned around walking to the main gate to see some man that looked emotionless. "Suh dude." Kyle said to him, nodding his head and dropping his bag on the ground, looking over at the kid next to him and then to the man in front of him.

Ken nodded to the new student that had arrived and well, was forced out of the car by his father or guardian.

"Welcome, I take it you are another one of the students that were accepted into this school. I've already introduced myself to your squad mate and I will do it again for your sake. My name is Ken Harvard. I've been in the military for years and have experienced lots. People who come and go either as great comrades or useless numbskulls. Danger of all sorts from near and far. My duty is to train you so that you won't die out there like an idiot with a smile on your face and not a single idea as to why and how you died."

Letting out a whistle, Thea looked over, pleased to see she'd finally arrived. She pulled up in a taxi, much unlike the others, so it seemed, and hopped out the door after paying her fare and bidding the driver good day. She pushed her glassless glasses back up onto the bridge of her nose and tied her hair up into a ponytail, pulling it swiftly through the elastic with nimble fingers and tightening it sufficiently. Then she sidled over to the steadily forming group, inclining her head in a display of lazy pride. "Why, hello folks. It is the farthest thing from a pleasure to be joining you all on this fine journey." She grinned, then laughed, shaking her head. "I kid. Mostly." Then, looking over in Mister Ken Harvard's direction, she commented, "And fine day to you, Harvard Sir. I'm Thea, and I'll be quite capable of keeping my own hide in one piece, but I appreciate the sentiment. Again, I kid. It's an honour to be here." She gave the man a light-hearted salute.

Ken had watched as a taxi pulled up and a girl had stepped out. They had selected several female potentials within the stack of applications.

"Good day to you miss. Welcome. I guess you've heard most of what I've said so I give you to option of either hear me speak it again regardless or decline it."

He frowned slightly at her response.

"Many soldiers have confidently said that they're capable of protecting themselves but always end up as the first few to perish. Hopefully you can be one of the small few who mean it."

Kyle

"What's good, Ken Harvard. I'm Kyle but you can call me Mr. Kyle." He said with a cocky grin as he looked around at the surroundings. He'd just call his dad in a week and say that this whole thing is too hard for him, and that he'll shape up his attitude towards things. Works everytime. Not like he was actually going to shape up, though.

Thea chuckled at him, waving her hand in dismissal. "Like I said, it was only a jest. But nonetheless, I'll be fine, I promise. Besides, I'm sure you'll train me good so that I can keep that promise, hmm?" It really was hard to tell whether she was looking forward to the training or not with her laid-back attitude and frequent jokes. But, in truth, she was quite excited, and she planned to work hard, though one thing she most definitely didn't plan to do was lose her attitude. It was her most prized possession, after all. Though she was much less interested in the actual warfare than she was in all the fun gadgets she would hopefully get to toy with.

Kiro

So this is the acadamy? It's bigger the I thought it would be.
Kiro thought absently peering up at the large building from the darkness of the car. I don't know rather or not to hope there are a lot of students.

"It's your last chance to decide if you want to attend," Kiro blinked at turned his attention to the speaker, his elder brother Theo. "We can go back to grandmother's right now and find another way...'" Theo trailed off uncertainly at the end. They both knew there was little they could do about satisfying Kiro's urge to kill that didn't make them monsters. Larger monsters then they were. Sighing he continued in a whisper. "I'm sorry."

"Don't worry big brother." Kiro quickly went to reassure the older boy. He hated when Theo blamed himself for what had happened. They had done what they had to stay sane and it had worked. The after effects of their actions were unwelcome but small compared to what could have happened. "I'll be fine here. I know it. Now I thank you have a plane to catch. "

Nodding Theo pulled his younger brother into a hug which the younger boy returned. The two haven't been apart since Kiro was born and know they would be on different sides of the country. Inhaling shakily Kiro gathered his courage and pushed away from his brother. Grabbing his small bag the boys exchanged one last before Kiro climbed out of the car and headed for the group gathering at the gates. He paused at the edge hesitantly before the sound of tires on gravel let him know his brother had left. Show time. Straightening Kiro painted a smile on his lips. "Hello, everyone. "

Adam shook his head slightly. He couldn't believe the behavior displayed by the two others who had joined him. There was no respect whatsoever. Adam especially didn't like the one who said his name was Kyle. He was too cocky and sure of himself. He had a feeling they would become rivals of a sort. He began wondering if he was going to be the only one with any amount of discipline beaten into him. Sure some of the students may not have volunteered, but that doesn't mean they can disrespect higher ups. Regardless of his thoughts Adam remained perfectly still and silent in parade rest. Another young boy showed up. He seemed somewhat fragile for a reason Adam couldn't quite place.

It was about two to three hours in the car with my dad. In a way I was finally happy to be on my own and away from my dad but also alittle sad that I was leaving my home. But I was just glad I would be doing something good from coming to this school. I took a little power nap and when I had woken up we were pulling into the long rode that led up to a gate. It looked alittle scary, mainly cause I was nerve about being somewhere where I didn't know people but that's how life goes. As we pulled up and my dad stopped the car I took a deep breath, hugged it and got out grabbing my bags and slinging them over my shoulders and headed up to the gate standing tall and stiff. If this was how my life at home was I was gonna fit in just great.

Kyle

Kyle looked over at the other kid, the one who was here before him. The guy shook his head and Kyle tilted his head in question. "What? You got something to say to me?" He stated bluntly as he turned to face the boy. They were similar in appearance you could say. Except this guy was a little more muscular than Kyle.

Adam kept his eyes forward when Kyle addressed him. "I've got nothing to say to someone like you." he said passive-aggressively insulting him. If Adam sized Kyle up correctly he was the kind of person who wouldn't be able to keep his cool. He was subtly egging him on to prove that he wasn't disciplined. If he lost his cool he might even take a swing at him, and that would be great. Adam would love to put a punk like him in his place. @youngin

Kyle clenched his jaw and bit his tongue. He wanted to fight this kid, definitely. He laughed softly, and nodded, turning around to face the other man again. He already knew he was going to have problem with this kid, whatever his name was. Changing the subject, he asked the man, "So, what's the point in this place anyways?"

Ken Harvard looked at the group of new students.

"Well, looks like most of you are here. Follow me. I don't expect you all to be able to function together as a squad yet. Hopefully, that will change in the coming weeks."

He turned and pushed open the gates, stepping in and turning back to face the group.

"This is your last chance to quit. If you don't want to join or are having second thoughts, this is the chance to turn and walk off. Once you step in, you will be in this until you clear everything."

As I walked up to the gate I saw two guys who almost seemed like they wanted to kill each other already. They seemed around my age so they couldn't have been working here which meant they were students that just came here. I then saw the guy who must have been the worker here. Clearly because he was older. The guy then opened the gate and told us now was the time to leave. I shook my head slightly as he said that not sure if he noticed since he probably wasn't locking eyes on the kids right now.

Adam took a step forward and saluted. He was ready and eager to begin. Also to show up the cocky kid but that was a bonus. Then a thought crossed his mind, what if the kid dropped out right then. That would be a sight to see! It would probably be better for him too. He talks big and that usually means the walk is small, he will probably crumble here. Adam smirked very slightly at these thoughts

Kiro Black

Those two seem like they want to kill each other. Kiro noticed glancing at the two bickering boys. When the man that was obviously in charge spoke he turned his attention to him. If you want more student's you seem to be giving them an awful lot of reason's and opening to leave. It's a good thing my mind is made up already. When one of the boy's stepped forward and salute Kiro blinked as he remembered the old war movies his cousin liked to watch. Stifling a smile Kiro stepped forward quietly. He didn't want to seem like he was about to quit after all.

Ken Harvard nodded at Adam and Kiro when they stepped past the gates and into the school grounds. They both seemed to be dead set on being here. As for the rest, they still seemed uncertain.

"Welcome, you two. The rest of you, better make up your mind."

As the two guys stepped forward I took a deep breath and started to walk forward till I was in line with the guy who had stepped past the gate. I was praying I was gonna be taken serious since I was a girl. Some dudes in the army like to mess around and joke about girls that join. Saying they shouldn't be fighting. They should be in the kitchen making food. Most of the time when they say that they normally end up on their ass and the girl walks away laughing. Hopefully I wouldn't have to prove myself to these guys though. I turned and looked behind me to the people behind me then back at the older guy that had opened the gate.
