    overview.

    L
ong has the animosity between races been festering. We're greedy and unkind, a force beyond nature that takes what they want when they want. Both Beast and Man feel the wrath of our foolishness. We should have seen it coming. In our haste to destroy each other, we have scorched the land and broken all hope of a future.

It's been 5 years since the race war came to a halt. It hasn't felt like very long at all. Trees are burnt and the earth still doesn't grow what everyone needs, but most agree that famine is better than war. Your home continent of Aesren is finally starting to go back to the way it was before the conflict, though slowly, and you are headed off to the country's finest acadamy, Atlaysia. It is one of the few schools left untouched from the conflicts and later consequences, the only multi-race school to exist on the continent.

Both Beast-men and Mages go to this college to refine their inherent epithets, butting heads with their respective rivals and learning with their friends like any other person would.

But Atlaysia still falls into the prejudice like many other places of Aesren, meaning well, Were-Beasts get the short end of the stick. But that's how it's always gone, the mages subjugate the beasts and the beasts live as the commoners would. It isn't in the Beast's nature to stay quiet or let others win and It isn't in the Mage's nature to lose or concede their position.

But It sure as hell isn't in their nature to get along when they're forced into the same classes and clubs day after day, but who knows, that's all up to you.

Werspe ━ An iron fortress of military achievement, with great walls lifted by mages of old and a thriving trade root, but a high wage gap, its an almost solely human city and one of the most biased areas, it is incredibly hard for a were-beast to reside here.

Atlaysia ━ The only multi-race school on the continent. It seeks to raise the brightest and most worthy, being incredibly selective with its participants, focusing solely on skill rather then race or personality, its located about 20 minutes' carriage from the nearest town.

History The inhabitants of the world of Aesren are a passionate group, both mage and beast. Many wars have broken out between the two races of the word and most often the beastmen would lose, cementing their place as lower than the mages. It has been 5 years since the most recent and devastating of those wars came to a halt after an event monikered as 'The Scorching.' Where a mage of great power cursed a beast with the price of their life, turning the target of their spell into a monster of flame, burning the lands for weeks until it could be taken down.

The lands still haven't recovered from the magical fire, the dirt is hard and dry, even with the rain it doesn't help, magic is the only reason anything can grow at all. The lack of food is putting tensions back between the races and only the thought of the last war keeps another from starting. Humans blame Were-beasts and they blame the humans, neither admitting or concerned to the fact it was both their mistakes that caused this.

The animosity between Mages & Beasts is In part due to the major religion of the land.

The humans believe that their god created them from his tears touching the earth when the land was freshly born, the god loved them and cared for them teaching them all they would need to know, telling them how to behave and how to love, but soon a small group of humans rebelled yelling that they didn't need a god to tell them what to do, the god got angry, striking them downward cursing them that those as uncivilized as they were nothing better than the beasts that he hunted, he turned them into great monsters casting them out of the land and turned to his loyal followers, he gifted only the best Emblems, a mark of power that surpassed that of the average mage, blessing them for their loyalty.

Epithets Epithets are something that all races have regardless of magical power, they are the expression of the soul and of the mind, a testament to sentience and personality. There are a total of 6 types of epithets 3 for mages and 3 for beasts.

Etherian mages usually have a soft sort of personality, caring and optimistic, but tend to be deadly passionate about the things they love, they wield either Protective/Null Magic vying to their deep love. Abyssal mages are a solitary bunch that usually hold a secret or two, some hold very mischievous sides but are almost defiantly serious when needed, they wield Curse/Illusion Magic a rage-filled type of magic that doesn't seem to fit these ice-cold mages. Mercurian mages are always wanting to learn something, they're curious and wish to change the world in some way or another, they are inventors and creators with a tendency to fall into depression and anxiety when things don't go well, they hold power over Runic/Animation Magic, an intricate and widely mysterious type of magic.

Infernal beasts are the most rage-filled of them all, but they're also the most loving too, these fiery beasts feel too much and tend to not have very good poker faces, they are proud and the ones most likely to snap back, they have the most beast traits in human form, and look the most dangerous, leading to people fearing them, their forms usually look the most monster or demon-like. Aesthenial beasts are cold and cumming with a great sense of humor, naturally charismatic, they often take up managing roles within their group, they are diplomats but the most untruthful of the beasts, they are the beast which most often has wings, and are usually very pretty and look almost harmless despite they are just as powerful as any other beast. Neptunian beasts are the most like the domesticated animal, sweet with a fierce loyalty, they keep their friends close and their enemies in their vision, they are the people you would trust with a secret, Neptunians look the most like a wild animal and are the only group to have anyone that is indistinguishable from other animals save for their large size and often odd-colored eyes.

Powerful Mages are born with emblems, a physical manifestation of magical power, oftentimes those who are born with them get married into higher families, for the off chance emblems are genetic. They are usually some sort of sigil and look something like an intricate silver scar on the skin, hard to see unless you really look at it. They're only located on the hands and feet.
