History
The school initially started in the 20’s as a place to train soldiers for the military, being run by two French millioniares now known as the Ylisse and the De la Rune families. However, when all war faded out and we achieved peace over the world, eventually the biggest bootcamp in Japan history became irrelevant. But it’s story didn’t end there.

Without war, population grew, and so did expectations and academic pressure for students. Suicide rates skyrocketed for those less fortunate to not have complete education, and in the 60’s, something needed to be done to give Japan a better reputation. But the prime minister of Japan wasn’t willing to put in the resources or efforts required to change his existing schools and create more jobs. With a great sigh, he sought to find something affordable and, well.. Self beneficial, entertainment-wise. That’s when the Ylisse family offered to repurpose it’s existing building that at the time had become a museum, pointing to their previous history of being able to manage a school at such a size. Initially, it began as an experiment. Promise something for those who focus on their talents and dangle a charity over their head to give them determination. But at the same time, the so called therapists who were there to help them would report their findings and try to investigate at what makes a human brain tick. How to mold a person to their benefit.
With a world with no wars, bored people seeking entertainment were a commonplace. It was in no time, after a few success stories, the school grabbed attention of the media. Over the next 3 years, it became more of a brand. Reality TV shows started to be set there, marketing kicked up over certain students, and the school profited greatly. Now, this school is praised by many as a saint, accepting interesting individuals from all over the world and trying to ‘fix them’. The school is held as such a high status, it’s basically become ingrained into Japan’s culture. Many celebrities got their careers started early with the reality TV shows set there, and even the student scout Aversa began from it.

Location
Ylisse's Juvenile Academy is a 27,000 acre private property containing of buildings and dorms for 3,900~4,500 students. While it was a bootcamp, the school had initially been in Japan's countryside, with the closest human contact being farms and small, rural towns 2 hours away. However, as it's popularity grew, so did it's location. Many businesses from these rural towns saw an opportunity to make money and slowly but surely, there came the bustling city named Hoshido. It's commercial districts are mostly filled with shops to appeal to young students, but is population mostly consists of the academy staff, reporters, tourists and student families who moved there. While it's become less of a countryside, there's still nearby untouched areas that are on an average hiker and tourist's bucket list. If a student desires, they can visit these places on their weekends.
~
There are so many bird species here, it's practically become a trademark in Hoshido and ingrained into Ylisse culture. Because of this, Students are given nicknames determined by their personality when they first enter. A cold, reserved person may be nicknamed the eagle of the class, and a romantic person may be nicknamed the swan. Its purpose is to keep the names of the students private and easier to market in reality television.

School Uniform
Students may wear ribbons or ties as they please, and thanks to recent development, same goes for skirts and trousers. Individuality is encouraged here, so long as you don't have any visible tattoos and accessories that are done in bad taste, you are free to where whatever over your school uniform. Sweater vests are optional.

~Tie/Ribbon Colors~
Orange- First year students
Cyan- Second year students
Navy- Third year students
Red- Fourth year students. These are uncommon since most students get out earlier, and red tied students have a reputation of being the ones that need more therapy or 'fixing'.
Black- Fifth year students. There are only 20 students that have black ties on this entire campus, and they all share the same class. The reason they're so extremely rare is because they are often given up by then, which is why this is only reserved for prodigies that would be wasted otherwise. These individuals have a reputation of being problematic or troubled, and often try to avoid being seen because of this. With an administrator's position, they may change their tie color to avoid humiliation. Many horror stories revolve around these students being menaces.
~
Purple- School staff. If they have a gold stripe on it, this indicates they're an administrator.
Brown- Counselors and therapists.
White- There are only 3 known people who have this these ties, and that's Emmeryn, Gangrel and Aversa. They're reserved for people of importance in the academy.
