Mechanics:

Dragons Lore: Dragons are sentient as long as they are bound to a human and only when bound to a human. When they are bound to a human, their brains are interlaced, sharing whatever they see or think with each other. If this bond is broken, which is hard to do, the dragon will generally go insane unless it was naturally as in the case of the masters death. However this does not apply to humans. Dragons are either elemental or mana based. In the case of elemental dragons, they may have one element (earth, water, air, or fire), or all of them. Some dragons have combinations of power (see elemental section) giving them the special combination of those elements. A mana based dragon however only shares their mana with their master and is unable to cast spells. Dragons come in a few sizes. Dreadnought class are massive dragons bigger than castles capable of massive destruction. Destroyer dragons are the medium size dragons more suited to maneuverable air combat. Minature dragons are only large enough for humans to ride them, often a bit larger than hums. Destroyer dragons have the most variety in dragon type however and are the most common. The size and power of a dragon are determined by the wealth of the respective owners. It is impossible for a normal dragon rider to have powerful dragon. Only high ranking nobles or their sponsored retainers can own powerful dragons especially Dreadnought class.

Argan Lore: With magic being as dangerous a force as dragons, all families with powerful magic in their blood were folded into noble families. The only truly powerful magicians all come from noble families. Also to get a good training in magic, there is the magic academy for those who can afford it and for the extremely wealthy, private tutorship which always breed the best magicians. However, elves also have magic, but they are very rare in the human world to the extent that there are only two elves in Argan. Dwarves are non-existent of their mountains with their constant fight against the orcs. The Church of Argan has a powerful presence in Argan with their own military using their highly secretive magic. To attempt to leave the church with knowledge of the Holy magic means death. A king once attempted to steal the secret, and the church subsequently executed him and installed his son as king.

Currently Taraven Argan is king of the country, recently installed as king. General Soran Targan, head of the Targan family is general of the military. At current power the army stands at a hundred thousand men and ten thousand dragons. Muskets and cannons have entered the battlefield. 
​

Magic
​

There are two type of magic in this world, elemental and mana based. Elemental magic is basically controlling the elements. Combinations of the elements like fire and mud create lave, wind and water create lightning, wind and fire create explosion type, earth and water create wood. A full elemental cannot wield mana magic (spell casters). Special family lines can manipulate two joined element (Water and air) along with mana magic, and some people can have mana manipulation and an element.

Mana manipulation opens up several types of magic. Basic manipulation that first must be learn is focusing mana on certain parts of the body to strengthen or speed up healing and secondly displacing mana from the body allowing mana shield however weak based on strength. From there one may take a step into healing magic, further mana manipulation gifts (body strengthening, mana threads, advanced shielding), Illusion magic, summoning, Mind manipulation, sealing, and sensory magic. A highly advanced magician can practice three or four of these specializations.

In what it takes for a magician to cast a high level spell or elemental cast, he has the power of casting three medium spells and nine simple spells. However, a massive spell takes up two or three times the mana that a high level spell costs.
​

Magicians fall in five categories that determine approximate strengths. One can be in between these tiers. This also refers to the medium level. The area a magician has focused on will require less mana.

Name: General Soran Targan


Age: 45


Appearance: A chiseled exterior from his prominent cheekbones to his well proportioned muscled, at 6'6, Soran is a terrifying individual. Coal black hair and eyes adorn his face, instilling terror into his subordinated and fear into his enemies. 


Personality: A cold man, as cold as his eyes, he is completely dedicated to Argan. Nothing matters but his country. If someone threatens it, he will kill it without a second thought. His life is Argan. He acts how the country would be best suited for him to act. He cares not for you if you are not contributing to the country. 


Background: Raised in the Targan family as the primary heir, his life revolved around military and political training, breeding him to become the next general of the country. With his magical bloodlines, he became one of the most powerful magic users in the world and the most powerful in Argan by far. Eventually his father retired fromt he military and handed him the reigns of the military. He completely revolutionized the military bring into it cannons and muskets, and he began the magical cannon and musket usage among magicians require it as part of the training to join the military. Now, he stand preparing for his first campaign. 


Dragon's Appearance and Personality: His dragon is a dreadnought legended to be the largest in the world. Unrivaled in size and massive power, his dragon is a legendary class elemental dragon. Completely black as his master, his dragon is the size of a palace with the power to crush divisions. His dragon however is much more playful than his master and if it were not for his massive size would love to pull pranks and lighten his master's life at least by a bit. Quite witty, his dragon enjoys joking with anyone who dares come near him.

Appearance: He usually wears a white shirt with a bandolier and a trench coat. On other occasions he wears turtlenecks, dress clothes, gray bowties with purple and fuchsia markings.

Name: Perry Falcon


Age: 32 


Appearance: Perry is tall, standing at six feet, and skinny, only weighing one hundred and forty pounds. He has light brown skin and long, messy, black hair. He had a small, sharp nose and small, black eyes above a crooked smile. 


Personality: Although he's thirty-two years old, he is still very much a child inside. His decisions are almost solely made by determining how fun said action would be. He is a fast learner, and adapts to changes quite easily. But he is arrogant, egocentric, and narcissistic as well. He craves attention, despising every moment where he isn't the most important person in the room. He's been trying to reign himself in recently, lest he get fired. 


Background: The Falcon family is a prestigious family of fire elementals, that goes back generations. This family spawned a lot of powerful fire elementals. Perrithan, or Perry,  was born into this family, the third child out of eight. But he was the worst out of all of his brothers and sisters. He was placed into the magic academy when he failed to improve with a private tutor. He flunked out of the academy, so how parents disowned him. He wandered Argan for several years, until he decided to become a mercenary.  With war coming soon, there is lots of money to be made. 


Dragon's Appearance and Personality: Tarram is an Earth elemental miniature dragon. Unlike Perry, she is nice and modest, although her self-esteem is low. She is cowardly, yet prone to suggestion. But she can be depended on when needed. 


Magic Class: Fire elemental.

Name: Field Colonel Azemi Argan of the Black Dragoneers 


Age: 25


Appearance: With his light blue eyes and dark black hair, Azemi stands at 6 ft. Cutting a slim figure with a well defined body, he isn't to terrifying like his dad, General Soran. Generally, he dresses in black with a black clip on coat of his unit. Along with that, he a has a magical sniper rifle usually with him. 


Personality: Rather laid back, he is very obedient to his superiors for the most part. Bred for his office, he is the perfect officer and picture of perfection to others. Even though he has a playful side, it doesn't come out until he is fighting someone. He is naturally nervous about the upcoming campaign with such a high ranking.


Background: First son of General Soran, he had a huge amount of pressure to grow up as proper military officer. However, instead of going with the normal branches of the military, he decided to join the Black Dragoneers, the scouts, assassins, and skirmishers of the military. His father did not dissuade his decision however encouraging him to go that route so that the Black Dragoneers would once again be under control of the main Argan line. Even so, his magical project under tutors was a massive success. He quickly became the most power mage under the age of twenty and soon the most powerful under 30. His skill at mana manipulation was a thing of legends. Quickly he drew enmity from his former friends and soon when his father rose him quickly through the ranks in the Black Dragoneers, he drew enmity from his fellow officers. Currently, he is the highest ranking field officer.

Dragon's Appearance and Personality: His dragon is a rather expensive legend class miniature dragon mana supplier. Black with a single white stripe running from her front to back, she isn't very impressive. Despite this, his dragon, Acusa, is a very brave dragon who would love to be a combat dragon, despite how much he sucks at combat. Mainly for travel and mana boost, Azemi refuses to take him into battle for obvious reasons.

Kiara has long brown hair and grayish-green eyes. She is of average height, standing at five feet and four inches, and weighs around 110 pounds. She's slim, but not in an unhealthy way, and actually has quite a bit of muscle on her. When not in armor, she prefers less flashy dresses that are easy to move around in. 


Personality: 


Kiara can be naive at times. She was taught that confidence could be used as a weapon, if not a small one, but sometimes she mistakes it with ignorance. That being said, she is not at all a quiet or shy person; though she knows when certain tones should be used in a conversation. At times Kiara will be stubborn to admit when she is wrong, but will eventually do so, especially if her mistakes lead to an embarrassing outcome. Although, she is always willing to learn and actually adapts pretty quickly. She tends to avoid topics about herself out of habit, and will often take more of an interest in the life of whoever she is talking to. Acting is both one of her strongest suits as well as her weakest. She performs best around strangers, but her ability to put on a convincing act tends to disappear when she's around someone that she trusts and knows well. When not putting on an "act" however, Kiara tends to be pretty direct with her speech. 


Background: 


The Adonis family mainly produces Mana Manipulators; each member either specializing in poison or healing-based prowess. Kiara's generation of the Adonis family only really consisted of females, her only brother being about five years old currently. With the upcoming threat of war, they couldn't only send the older men to fight. While many of Kiara's family members were assigned to divisions such as the White Dragoneers, her specific abilities with poison were best used for more stealth-based assignments.

Avrae is rather stubborn and protective. He isn't the easiest being to get close to, and will always prefer other dragons over humans; and even then you have to be a damn special dragon to gain his trust. The one person that Avrae will ever truly trust is Kiara. And he has absolutely no problem with turning against even those that she's close to in order to make sure that she's safe. 


He is a purple Destroyer dragon with a pretty deadly tail. It's not laced with poison or anything, you just don't want to get hit with it. He's a Mana-based dragon, and usually relies on his own physical strength because of his inability to cast spells.

I do have three things however if you could fix. Could you say what your dragon does (elemental or mana supplier)? Also Poison would be considered a family thing like Lightning for mana manipulators since it's nearly elemental (earth/waterish). And also, to be in the Black dragoneers, one must be at least a Practitioner preferably higher. They are elites. With her family background, it wouldn't be a problem. Actually it would be expect that she be higher. You can take her up to even mastery with a sub or two sub skills.

Personality: kind and giving, but can be temperamental


Background: he's an outcast of a family of dragon tamers, but was the first in his villaige other than the town mage to achieve practitioner status, he eventually decided to join the Argan army and has become a reliable member of the army ever since.

Dragon's Appearance, Personality, Class, and Level: the dragon, Gradin is moderately sized and green scaled, she has three horns and is very mischevious and ill tempered, but is trained to follow commands and underststand what her master means when he whacks a long stick against her. She is earth class and is a novice.

Name: Vasilyan "Vasya" Karkovos


Age: 24


Appearance: .


Personality: Vasya is cool, calm, collected, and superior at a distance. However, he quickly becomes acerbic, arrogant, candid (sometimes rudely so), and cynical when dealing with others. There is more to him than his prickly and haughty countenance would suggest, but given his outlook, he has very little motivation to ever express it.


Background: Vasya is the only child of the late Yevgyen "The Artillery" Karkovos, one of the greatest generals serving under Soran Targan during his rise to power. His family are minor nobility, though respected for their contributions to Argan's recent resurgence. Although ostracized by the court for their status as Provincial Outsiders, the Karkovos family's history as some of the greatest dragon-hunters of all time ensure their renown and reputation. Despite their unique and powerful magic traditions (developed to combat the natural armor of a dragon's thick hide), they are of the County Cravda, a formerly independent country that was absorbed into the Argan state a little over a hundred years ago. His father's reputation ensured his acceptance by the military, but not so much by the military's elite nobility. Despite the whispers and disapproval of the elder cadre of the nobility, most of the younger generation nobles serving in the military have come to respect him for his skills and tactical genius. Vasya is now serving as a member of an elite Dragoneer unit known as The Squadron, a composite-force special-operations group that recruits from across the Argan military. He is a very skilled marksman and uses a rifled musket with a smaller bore (trading kinetic force and impact surface for increased accuracy over long ranges) that utilizes new percussion cap technology. He often uses hollow bullets filled with reactive liquids that he charges with simple contact spells. When they hit a target, they explode.


Division: Black Dragoneers (as an auxillary as he is still technically a part of the Cravdan State Militia), currently serving with The Squadron.


Dragon's Appearance, Personality, Class, and Level:

  


Kitalya, or "Kit", is a Destroyer Class dragon a bit on the small side (about 2/3 the size of a moderate Destroyer, less than half the size of the largest Destroyers). Vasya jokingly refers to her as "Frigate Class" due to her size and maneuverability compared to other Destroyers. She is coal-black with an underside of light-grey, with yellow steaks on her snout. She was the runt of a litter bred for supplementing Fire magic, and as such can breath jets of flame, launch explosive fireballs, and has a significant resistance to fire. Due to her size, she is not as formidable in close range combat and relies on her maneuverability, fire, and Vasya's powerful ranged weaponry and magic.


Magic Class( Elemental, Mana, etc): Explosive Magic (Fire & Water). Uses magic to enhance weapon payload. Can use it unassisted, but the nature of Explosive magic makes it very difficult to perform safely and effectively without something to channel it. Unlike his father's Fire & Air Explosive magic, Vasya can use liquid and liquid particles to create chemical and pressure explosions. While not as destructive as traditional explosive magic and requiring proper materials, it is more focused. No need to make an explosion large enough to wipe out a city district just to kill one dragon when a smaller, more condensed and directed one can kill it more efficiently after all.


Magical level: Expert. Despite relatively middling magical talent, his implementation and tactics allow him to perform on even footing with more capable magic users.
