Name:
Lilith Fey

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Race: Human

Alignment: Neutral

Personality: Pretty outgoing with an open air about her that some find comforting while others overbearing. She likes to talk to people, like a lot and will start a conversation with anyone within the vicinity whether they want to or not. She's a bit of an airhead, often saying something inappropriate due to not reading the situation correctly. Despite her outgoing nature she greatly lacks empathy. This sort of leads to her being quite selfish and even narcissistic at times. Due to a fairly sheltered upbringing she values money. Alot. She has a cold, cynical look on the world.

Appearance: She has light Auburn hair which is usually kept tied up in two pig-tails, light brown eyes, and fair-ish skin. 5'7". Due to her upbringing she has some sense of elegance and generally keeps a straight posture. She also prefers colourful, luxurious clothing. However, when fighting, she wears plain, dark, comfortable clothes.

Skills: She's not very strong in terms of physical strength so to combat this she relies on tactics. She will always aim for the most diplomatic option available in a given scenario and greatly dislikes fighting. She operates with subterfuge, striking at critical point quickly, or using the environment to her advantage. Her weapon of choice is anything small and conductible - most often grappling daggers.

Weaknesses: Physically weak, cannot do well in an open one-on-one fight, relies heavily on the element of surprise

Element: Electricity

Power: Pure form - uses her element in it's purest state by conducting it through objects or directly into her target. Using too much may deplete her mana quickly and leave her in a weakened state, therefore she avoids zapping people and instead charges objects.

Background Information: Brought up in central Mordain - Nordal, a city of trade. Her family was quite wealthy, owning one of the three major merchant guilds in Nordal. Unfortunately, it was also one of the less legitimate guilds in the city, using unsavoury tactics to extort money. Peri and her family were well aware of this however they weren't exactly the pinnacles of morality and simply left things as they were. Which led to the eventual downfall of the guild, leaving the family bankrupt and out of all material possessions - truly the worst fate. She doesn't much care for the state of the world and would not go out of her way to help people. She currently works freelance for the many mercenary guilds in Nordal.

Extra: She likes music a heck ton and studied the piano back when she was still rich.

Name: Dagne Symphana

Age: 24

Gender: Female

Race: Human

Alignment: Lawful Good

Personality: Dagne is a gentle soul, kindhearted and strong willed, but at the same time incredibly fragile. She travels to confront her fear - fear of the outside world, teeming with violent beasts and the people who take after them, and fear of herself, contained within her a power made only to devastate. Though her emotions overcome her time and time again, she will always stand steadfast in the face of adversity, if not for her sake, then for the sake of those she has vowed to protect.

Appearance: Dagne is 4'11", matte black hair cascades well below her waist and her eyes gleam a soft hazel. She is skinny but not exactly lithe, as it is mostly a result of malnutrition and lack of serious exercise, typically dressing in loose, comfortable attire. She doesn't have much money to her name, so her wardrobe always has her looking down on her luck. People have actually given her money thinking she was a beggar and she has never been more embarrassed.

Cardinal Phase: When her power reaches its second phase, a solid half of her hair blends to sheer white. The more she uses her power, the more it loses its original color - she isn't sure what this means, but is nonetheless anxious about its gradual creep. Bloody veins and even horns may manifest on her body depending on the extent to which she has unleashed its power.

Vermilion Phase: When her power reaches its final phase, her hair turns pure white, interlaced with crimson strands with a blood-like gleam. Her eyes become red and bloodshot, and her flesh cracks and splinters like damaged porcelain.

Skills: Over the years, Dagne has mastered her own style of swordplay - the half-drawn blade. She fights almost explicitly with her sheath and the hilt of her sword, using the edge only to block and deflect incoming strikes. While it has next to no use against larger beasts, most people are unused to fighting against such an unorthodox style and are often caught off guard by her movements. She has very little practical skills outside of combat but is steadily learning to become better at everything.

Weaknesses: Although Dagne has the potential to become incredibly dangerous through her power, she has been traumatized on multiple levels due its vile and savage nature. She becomes queasy at the sight of blood and will try to attempt to incapacitate her enemy if possible, meaning she rarely ever uses her blade or her powers. Not only that, but when she drains the life force of others, they echo as a score of voices in her head, their memories and deepest feelings invading her mind. Perhaps someone of stronger will could push them away, but she always finds herself debilitated by an indescribable melancholy.

When felling large creatures, she has the option to absorb a great deal of blood to empower her weapon but almost never lets it reach beyond the first phase - she never wants to see it awaken again.

Element: Blood

Power: Weapon Form - Sangua. Though its base arrangement is that of a dormant curved blade, when awakened, it transforms into something truly otherworldly. Sangua has three phases - Scarlet, Cardinal, and Vermilion. When it is dormant, the blade has the ability to draw upon itself the blood of the dead, dying, or otherwise deeply injured.

  • Scarlet Sangua allows the weapon to discharge blood as high-pressure blades and lances that launch outward from its edge.
  • Cardinal Sangua allows her to manipulate the blood remotely, shaping them into deadly projectiles and support weapons that autonomously fight alongside her.
  • Vermilion Sangua is its awakened phase; at this stage, its avatar manifests into a terrible creature that can lay waste to hordes of enemies should they be ill prepared against it.

Dagne has witnessed its Vermilion phase only once in her life, and is forever haunted by its memory.

Background Information: Dagne was born the younger twin to her sister, Deidre. They hailed from a clan of warriors who were notorious for having been consumed by the dark arts, and it seemed the two were destined to follow their path. Curiously, Dagne had been the more gifted - and the more violent - of the two siblings, parting soul from body without so much as a bat of the eye. Deidre on the other hand questioned everything in her life, the reasons for which she was driven to strive for such power. As they matured, the two inexplicably began to experience a paradigm shift in opposite directions.

When Dagne experienced consequence for the first time, her entire worldview was shattered and she reflected gravely on her sinister upbringing.

When Deidre reached a dead end to her rationalism and sense of justice, she accepted such cruelty and violence as the ultimate means to an end.

As conflict stewed in her mind over the course of many years, one day, Dagne vanished without a word. Any longer and her mental health would suffer a meltdown, she would find her true purpose elsewhere, far away from there. Naturally, as a sibling's love demands, Deidre left the clan to find her. . .

. . . and bring her back, no matter what it takes.

Extra: Dagne enjoys doing palm and tarot readings and has a lot of useless knowledge about wildlife. Really loves birds.

I like what you did here! The shift in values is an interesting concept. Especially when it involves rationalism leading to: 'the ends justify the means'
